The hotel is clean and quiet. However, they do not assist guests with booking day tours. A bit of a walk to the nearest metro station but only a short taxi ride to bell/drum towers. Taxis are quite cheap here. Walkable to xian yan tower.

My one bedroom unit is very spacious. I was solo but I think it's ok for a family of 3 or even 4. 1 bedroom, 1 big living room and the kitchen area. The unit has all necessities you may need for a comfortable stay. The washer dryer worked well and was even provided with detergent. Bathroom was in old-fashioned style but updated modern amenities and high-end toilet. Nice and neat. The staff were kind and sweet. Great location, just 1 street away from a street with many dumpling stores (including 1 highly rated online). There's a small draft beer bar next door with some mean beers and the staff are fun, too. Highly recommended.

I stayed a few nights at this hotel. As a five star hotel, this property meets the expectation of cleaness. The room setting is a bit out of date but it still works well in general.

I particularly liked the bathroom layout -- it is larger than most hotel room bathroom by seperating toilet from shower/bath tub.

The hotel staffs are good in general. However, I had a bad experience with one front desk staff -- Frank Fang. When I need to use the business center for a printing, I asked him where the business center was located. He told me that the business center had been closed. So, I asked him what the open hour of the business center was. He changed his words by saying that the business center was still open but no staff there. So, no guest can use the business center. Then, I asked his help for the printing. He said the front desk could help the printing but it would come with a charge. When I tried to hand him my USB drive for the priting, he told me that no USB drive would be accepted. Anyone who like to use the printing at the front desk has to use the Chinese App, Wechat, to transfer the file to him for the printing. For anyone without the Chinese App, nothing he can do. Then, he refused to give any additional help.

I have a quite positive experience at this hotel. However, Frank Fang's attitude ruined my good impression of this hotel. Quite disappointed.

Lovely hotel with opulent public rooms, and spacious well appointed bedrooms.

Situated a little outside the ancient city centre - about a twenty minute walk to the City South Gate.

Food good - the buffet dinner in the Zhuque excellent. The CP staff were helpful, despite the language barrier - an English speaker was usually made available when needed. Concierges were particularly obliging.

51st floor bar worth a visit, especially at night.

It was a very comfortable stay for our family trip. The front desk and the concierge was very helpful. The breakfast was great with a lot of good choices. Only problem is the pool is not the hotel managed facility, the water and towels are not clean and poorly maintained. It’s mainly the swim lesson program for the kids who are not staying at the hotel.

Strong stench in bathroom i was in..luckily i brought along a room spray.Hotel wanted an deposit of more than rmb500 per night for a 2 night stay. In earler hotel, they only needed rmb500 for stay of 2 nights. Location is not close to city center where attractions are.

It was a nice stay. I did splurge on my hotel as there were many nice hotels in the area that were cheaper. The location was good but had to take a taxi to the bell tour and the wall. The staff spoke some English. Breakfast was very nice. The bar on the 51st floor had fantastic views and live music which was very enjoyable. Some things that didn’t impress me was when I asked for a taxi I was just told to go outside into the street and catch it myself. The taxi drivers had no idea where to take me as they spoke no English. This is something the staff could’ve helped with easily. At breakfast you have to ask for the coffee which is fine but I never got mine and had to ask another staff member. Little details but those are part of the experience when you are paying that much for a stay.

I liked this hotel. Modern and comfortable.

The staff are great. Check-in staff was lovely. The concierge and Bruce in particular are extremely polite, professional and helpful. Also really made a point to understand my situation. (I am traveling alone and wanted to visit the terracotta warriors without a posh car etc ... Just reasonable cost plus get to the airport on time).

I really liked this hotel.

Excellent service! Would recommend this hotel!

The room was very nice and the amenities are excellent. The people are good and service is nice, and I have told them it was my husband’s birthday and they have prepared a cake in my room! What’s more, the house-keeping staff even made a hand written birthday note! That’s a very nice surprise. The only little thing that didn’t make our trip a straight five-star is there is no hot water one night for shower and didn’t know why the air con didn’t work quite well at night. All-in-all is a very good experience.

Well located hotel with brilliant staff.

Staying in this hotel was a delight from start to finish. The staff were on hand to help out with whatever questions or issues we had, from our train tickets not turning up when they should have to questions about local places to eat.

The breakfast was great and the pool was a great way to cool down after the Terracotta Warrior visit.

I can't recommend this hotel enough. I'll certainly stay here again next time I'm in Xi'an!

Concierge staff saved our vacation

Great Hotel!!! Everything was wonderful including the room and buffet. But their Concierge staff was the best. Not only did they write our destination in Chinese when they got our taxi but Miles Zheng of the Concierge staff saved our vacation when China Southern airline canceled our flight the day of the flight. Miles was able to contact China Southern to book an alternate flight to our next destination.

Great overall. Breakfast offered western and eastern dishes and everything was incredibly clean. Even the lobby smelled of roses. One thing I'd like to see though is that any extra added beds be softer. I'm not accustomed to hard beds typical of Chinese residences and had to sleep on one as we had three people to a typically two person room.

Had a club room which was great, just thought the room could have been a little bigger and with some windows. Small window made the room feel a little claustrophobic. Receptionists in Club lounge were fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay.. BUT, one advice, avoid the restaurant on the 52nd floor, probably the worst I have been to in years if not my life.. All presented nice, but the food is bad, tasteless. We asked about the chef, he was French, I say was as he left about 1 year ago now Chinese are trying to cook Mediterranean cuisine,they have been trained how to present it well, but just don't know how to cook it or how it should taste.. I requested the reception to advise guests not to use it as it is so bad..

Wonderful, wonderful place to stay!

Our stay in Xian was made perfect by our stay in Crowne Plaza. Everyone was awesomely nice and helpful. We appreciated their ability to speak English very well. The manager even scolded our taxi driver who overcharged us and explained the situation to us. We will definitely be staying there again on our next trip to Xian. Thank you everyone.

A Pearl in the middle of an oyster!!

Very nice hotel! Would recommend it to anyone headed to Xian. Alice in the restaurant/bar area as well as all the people that greeted and waited on us in the dining room, very wonderful people. Their service was exceptional in every way! I highly recommend the breakfast buffet. Delightful and delicious along with dinner at the hotel. The room was very clean and loved how it was set up with a beautiful shower area! Only thing I would change is a different light switch for in the bathroom only and not connected to the bar area also. This would be for the person who got up before the rest of the family. There would be no light on to wake them while another one was in the shower and using the sinks in main bathroom. This hotel is truly a delight to stay at!

Faultless, functional, fabulous! The hotel is close to the walled city , a ten minute taxi ride to it , it's therefore good for tourists for X'ian, also for the remarkable terracotta warriors which the hotel arranges English speaking escorted visits to. The breakfast should certainly be taken at the hotel, it's a treat and very international. The 50th floor bar and restaurant could be missed, but is very worth visiting as access to the dedicated 50th floor elevator is not a part of the residents room elevators. The rooms are spacious and furnished to a high standard. Electrically controlled blinds and drapes are a functional novelity, and the Internet works. The swimming pool and spa area is excellent.

After all the noise, construction, and pollution,
We came back to our little sanctuary Everyone was helpful, food good, breakfast great, staff helpful.
The only downer is the seating. None on the 51st floor bar near the elevator where the wait can be over several minutes & non in the lobby while awaiting pickup for the terra cotta Warriors tour.

Great hotel, very reasonably priced. Lovely comfortable room. The hotel was meant to be non-smoking (there were signs everywhere saying this) but there were people quite openly smoking in the lobby, being served drinks by staff. There was an outside scenic lift going up all 52 floors to the restaurant and bar on the top which I was too frightened to take!

I saw everyone is talking about service. then I gave it a try. Then guess what, it was great. The staff helped me a lot with my trip. The room itself was impeccable, too. from the comfort of the bed, the size for the bathtub, and the variety for the pillow. The only miss was the noodle guy when breakfast, he should serve the food on the first-come-first-serve basis, still impossible being a practice in China

Perfect for Pandas!

As others have stated, this hotel is a bit out of town, but super close to the Panda breeding centre (which was our sole reason to visit). Hotel is very nice, clean, modern, nice bar and lobby. Rooms are a good size. Staff were really helpful, concierge was great. We stayed 2 nights and thouroughly enjoyed it. Ate in the Chinese restraunt and the food was very good and a decent price. There are a few shops a couple of minutes walk from hotel lobby (grocer, small supermarket etc) which is super handy. 5min free shuttle to panda place (although only a few a day). We actually walked back to the hotel as it was a nice day (about 20min). There is also a free shuttle to town if you want to see Chengdu itself.
Taxi to and from airport around 150rnb (£15), takes about an hour. Taxi from airport you need to negotiate a price yourself (use the calculator on your phone as the driver wont speak English, also make sure you have your hotel address in Chinese!)
So if you're main goal is just to see the Pandas, this hotel comes highly recommended.

Really liked this hotel, room was nice, comfortable & had electronic blinds. Staff were extremely helpful especially on check in (Anne if I remember correctly) & the concierge who we spoke with numerous time, he gave us info on local bus #s to get to tourist spots, assisted with taxis, walked us to the bus stop etc. Breakfast was nice, liked the juice bar and having pancakes/waffles cooked on request. One let down was the room service, after a late night flight, I order a pizza, after 45mins it arrived and was the wrong pizza. Called back only to be told they have sold out of pizzas ?! I then asked for a toasted sandwich and was told the hotel had ran out of cheese....... finally did get a meal after numerous phone calls and lengthy wait.

Nice hotel, not a great hotel.

The hotel was nice. The room was clean, but the air conditioning did not work as well as we would have like. Good restaurant with great buffet. Language with staff was a bit of a problem. The swimming pool was out so service our entire stay, and the spa prices were a bit high. The air pollution was terrible. Could not hardly see across the street, so being in one of the tallest building in Xi'an was not an advantage.

Second time in China. First time at this Crowne Plaza. This hotel is new and the tallest building in Xian. It opened early 2012 and is very beautiful. The food at the first floor restaurant was great for a westerner. Most staff spoke English and I had no problems getting anything I needed. Was a pleasurable stay in a clean and beautiful hotel. The spa was also very nice although I only had massages but the girls were beautiful and very skilled.
