This newly renovated hotel (May 2019) is located on a quiet side street at the heart of Athens. Close by are many of the city's top tourist attractions including Syntagma Square, the parliament buildings and the National Gardens.

The only drawback was the arrangement of the bathroom as we were 3 people and the bathroom area was quite open (except the actual toilet which was so small as to be somewhat claustrophobic) so challenging for drying off and dressing in privacy. A door would have been good.

They were not able to arrange pickup from port on short notice but we made it. They were able to arrange transport to airport at check out and let us stay in the room for a couple extra hours.

Our room was on the first floor and there is a nightclub just below on the street. You feel like you are in the nightclub, in fact my husband asked if the windows were open. Other than that all was ok and hotel was clean.

However, we had very noticeable bed bugs in both rooms. We did not have to search for them. Easily taking pictures and videos of them. My daughter and I were bitten all over our body by these bugs.
Property manager took note of this issue and hope will be solved.

The staff were very friendly. Savvas in particular provided exceptional service. The morning meal had a good selection for a continental breakfast. It was only a few minutes walk from the main metro station and lots of shopping and dining available in a small walking radius.

This was a good place to stay. Based off the reviews I thought it would be closer to the city center but it was a bit of a walk and not very close to the metro. The breakfast wasn’t worth waking up for. That sounds like a bad review but really the hotel was nice and a 4 star hotel. We had a short stay and wished we stayed closer to Monastiraki.

Perfect location in Athens. There are several hots spots very close but once you shut the sliding door the noise is gone! The staff is very friendly!

Achilleas has the best shower of the 14 days we have been traveling. Roomy shower area but the toilet & sink area is small with not enough bars & hooks for towels. 2 unique capsule elevators. Spiral & narrow staircase is not lighted enough that it can be dangerous. They should improve lighting asap. Breakfast area is small & items limited so it got old by our 4th day of stay. We love the location and everything is about10 min walk but the hotel must improve signage in the front (name written vertically in one column near the curb) & easy to miss. We missed & passed the hotel twice within the first 2 days. We were assigned 2nd floor though we requested upper floor quiet room. We can hear clinking of dishes from breakfast room 2 floors below. The hotel can also use some newer softer bath towels. Staff is friendly & helpful, good air con & mini frig. We will stay again for the convenience.

I like that it was close to all the areas one had to go to, without necessarily being a loud and busy area. It's very conveniently located from the metro. The rooms were very clean and modern, including the bathroom. The room even had a small balcony to enjoy.

Good location and very friendly staff. Adequate breakfast menu. hot and cold options. Stayed in Junior suite with a large balcony. Very large king size bed and clean bedding. Big shower, seperate toilet and hand basin, seperate 2nd hand basin. Mirrors in bathroom and bedroom areas. Lovely fluffy towels changed daily and daliy cleaning if required. Fridge was a nice touch in room , as extremely hot,and allowed uo to buy and store items in fridge. Unfortunately no bar in hotel but plenty nearby.

I made it clear when i was booking this property that we needed two beds because i was traveling with my adult son. The room was supposedly a quadruple sleeping room but it only had one bed and two extremely narrow hard as a board couches. Looks nothing like the pictures. It's dark and dreary. elevator is so tiny you have to fit suck in to fit. The hotel did nothing to help us with the room. miserable.

The Achilleas Hotel was easily accessible and welcoming (both from the staff and the simple decor of the lobby). I arrived before check-in and was able to store my luggage while exploring Athens and evenutally access my room before the proper check-in time. They worked hard to make that happen and I was grateful. The breakfast was nice and included a great variety. I would gladly stay here again.

Located within 20mins walking distance to main sights but in congested, noisy and dirty area typical of the location. Was surprised by the hotel staff lack of friendly service, the breakfast limited and barely edible. The coldcuts and cheese are left out unrefrigerated, juice was of questionable content, and coffee from a dispenser machine. Yoghurt was good, but lacked many of the traditional toppings. The front desk staff was polite during limited interactions and none went out of their way to acknowledge our presence. Provided toiletries/soap were like the rest of the experience: just okay.
If it weren’t for the hotel’s proximity to the Athens’ main attractions, I would have left early. My recommendation: stay here okay for 2 days.

A good choice for a one night stay. The room was in excellent condition but felt rather small because of the unwanted third bed as well as being narrow. The only downside was the lack of any view from the window, just a blank wall.

The check in was easy and the one man staff was very efficient and took time to help us with any questions and booked a tour for us fast and efficiently. Covid protocols are in place. Our junior suite was very spacious. The room was very clean and quiet. The breakfast was adequate, nothing special. The location is perfect and close to everything, shopping, dining, attractions. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel. Just FYI…. Be careful of some taxi drivers. We got a taxi from the cable car ( at the highest hill) to the Plaka area, only because we are older and had walked so much that day. The driver insisted my husband sit in the front and during the ride appeared very friendly and talkative. He stopped at a tourist shop and strongly suggested we get out for 1/2 hour shopping in that shop while he waited for us. When we said we we not interested he then said we were at our destination anyway. He charged us a whopping €27 for a ride that should have been about €7. As my husband opened his wallet to get out the money, the driver quickly put his hand into the wallet and took out €50 and then tried to tell us he only took €5. He was very slight of hand. He was a pickpocket in his own taxi!!!! We would not get out of the car until he returned the €50 which he did after much argument. So be careful. Don’t sit in the front seat and don’t open your wallet in front of the driver.

So just to share my experience the location is perfect!! It’s totally walkable everywhere. A lots of street food/ bars/ restaurants around. Walkable to the Acropolis, all the museums. Small hotel in a central location very close to Syntagma Square. We found all of the reception staff so friendly and helpful. The lady who serves your breakfast during Covid-19 works tremendously hard tending to all your breakfast requirements. We had a room on the 4 floor completely modernised very clean comfortable bed large balcony. The bathroom had a great walk-in shower and a separate toilet. 2 Tvs a large sitting area. The hotel takes Covid seriously and there are hand sanitiser stations on each landing. Access is good for the Metro and buses. It’s also good for trams. We both had a great stay and would recommend without hesitation.

The only thing that bothered us was that the shower area had no door so the only way you could change clothes in private was if no one else in the room came near..

The room was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable.
Breakfast was very nice as well, quite big variety to choose from.
The only thing that bothered us was that the shower area had no door so the only way you could change clothes in private was if no one else in the room came near..

Great Hotel for Transit
This is our second stay at this hotel. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to make things easy and comfortable for you. Beds are comfortable and room has everything you need for an over night stay. The bathroom is small but functional with good shower pressure and plenty of hot water. You can walk from KLIA2 terminal via internal walkway. Find the supermarket before the exits to outside and the lift to cp3 - when you get out of the lift there is a sign to Tune hotel. There is lift so no stairs involved. The hotel has a nice outdoor area and restaurant/bar. We had the best flat white coffee in our 7 weeks of travel through Europe- who would have thought the Tune Hotel would have such a great barista! The breakfast is lovely with lots of variety including eggs to order. I mentioned ladt time I visited that cereal was not an option and I was impressed that this time I could get a bowl of corn flakes. They actually listen to imput from customers. We were able to take the train from the airport into the city with ease.
