Good hotel at base of Mount Etna

The hotel/agriturismo was situated at the base of Mount Etna - we had spectacular views of the volcano and the sea. The pool was beautiful and well maintained. Food was excellent and staff very helpful. It was a short drive to Taoromina. Only complaint was the 7:30am wake-up call from the helicopter outside.

It was our second visit in this hotel, hotel is very clean, international breakfast are delicious. Hotel did some improvements from last year as new tiles around pool and pool bar. Restaurant has delicious good, onky we were limited as don’t like fish, very limited meals with chicken which we prefer. But other food we have tried was great. Hotel is away from town, car is a must. Beach is 10 min away by car. There was little bit of communication barrier as staffs in restaurant on lunch time don’t speak English, but they have spoken other languages. Anyway they are very kind

This is a wonderful hotel in the Sicilian countryside.
The staff are so friendly and helpful making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.
The room was great with two connected rooms and a bathroom - one of the few hotels that would have a family of five in one room. The bathroom and shower were good and the a/c worked well.
The pool is lovely and wasn’t ever too busy. The sun shades really help too.
Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices and more cakes than I have ever seen!
The restaurant was really one of our favourites in all of Sicily. The pasta dishes are very good and the prices are very fair.
We loved our stay and thank everyone at the hotel!

My wife and I stumbled upon this hotel while looking for a last minute reservation. It is a mini resort, they have a beautiful property (bar, resturaunt, lounge, pool). The hotel was very welcoming. Easy to park, you would have to have a car to stay here. Great experience and value.

This hotel was in a quiet location but still near to lots of places you want to visit ( Etna , Taormina - Mazzaro cable car etc ) . The pool area was beautifully kept and the staff were nice and helpful.

The rooms were simply furnished but perfectly functional.
The food we ate there was lovely apart from a tuna dish in sauce which was way too salty and 3 times the veg accompaniment was freezing.
I think they could improve the menu by having a couple of specials each day as otherwise it can get a bit repetitive, if there for a week.
They had a sax player and DJ whilst we were there and this was amazing ( what a sax player ) .
There was a drain smell in our room one day but this was rectified with a spray and they obviously cleared the drain as the next day it was better.

They need better coffee at breakfast too as the bar coffee is nice but breakfast isn’t .
If they improve the food menu ( by having daily specials ) make breakfast till 10.30 and make the checkout time later - it would be 5 stars all the way .

Lovely and quiet agriturismo hotel in the middle of a nursery growing plants and flowers. The loudest noise was the birds tweeting... ok the hotel also had its own helicopter for flights around Etna but that's a little pricey! Great pool area. Good food at the restaurant. Surprisingly broad range of food at the free breakfast buffet. Very helpful and friendly staff. Difficult to pick fault with anything.

Our family of two adults and two small children stayed in apartment five which has two bedrooms and a large terrace so perfect for families.

Everything was clean and functional, staff were helpful and friendly and the hotel restaurant was great with daily specials. The breakfast included within our rate was buffet style and there was plenty on offer. We asked for some advice on the right way to visit Etna and were provided with an abundance of tips, maps and guidance. There appears to be some sort of shuttle to a local beach during peak season but we didn't use it so can't comment.

We were well located for visiting Mount Etna, Taormina, Isola Bella, Messina and Catania, all of which were less than an hour by car. The large pool was clean and well stocked with sun loungers and the hotel isn't so large that it ever felt crowded.

The only things against this hotel is location which was a bit out of the way. We found that we enjoyed this (it felt that we were off the tourist track) but some may prefer to be a bit more central. We knew that we would need a car to get around when booking so this wasn't a surprise and there was ample parking. It is worth noting that Fiumefreddo has a trai station for those reluctant to drive themselves).

Overall the hotel gets a big thumbs up and is especially family friendly.

You need a car as it is in a remote location but parking is free so good good. The view of the Etna is unbelievable. We went there for the new year so it was cold but not that much. From there, Taormina and Catania are close by. We ate at the restaurant and the food was good but not that good so the price paid seemed a bit expensive. In the summer I believe it may be even better, with a couple of nice swimming pools in both locations across the street. If I go back to Sicily I would probably book again.

Clean rooms but it was a little out of the way

The room and pool area were very clean and cleaned daily. the staff we're friendly and the breakfast had a good variety however if you wanted cooked breakfast such as scrambled eggs or an omelette you will need to pay extra.

The restaurant was busy each night but this was mainly due to the fact that the place was not in walking distant of the nearest town. The food was average to say the least, no fresh pasta and the food was very oily.

Very nice place, friendly staff, good location, very close to the beach, next to village where you can buy everything what you need, very close to Etna and Teormina, Waterpark- Etnaland, reserve parks. Nice pool and view. We had big tarace so we could lie down and no one araund you at all. Room service every day. Place securied by the gate and closed every day from 00.00-7am. Air con. working. Safe in the room if needed. Bathroom very clean. Very comfortable king size bed( or even bigger tbh), Private parking.Bar opened. Food nice. You can relax and come with kids as plenty of space araund you. Very green and a lot of singing birds :) The only one thing what could be a little annoying is that the place is surrounded by plantations so during your stay someone can mow the grass at like 7-8am however better this than traffc/cars/crowd. Very recommened for someone who wants relax and just chill out. Very happy with everything so really go for it!

A disappointing hotel

It doesn't feel like you're in Sicily... early dinners (kitchen closes at 9:30), seaside is far, swimming pool floods over the breakfast/dining area, loads of mosquitoes in the bedrooms, inadequate shower with a continuous change in water temperature going from boiling to freezing, no lift to reach the bedrooms upstairs, wi-fi is so slow that it is pointless.

The reception staff were very welcoming and remained courteous and helpful throughout. The view of Moutnt Etna from our balcony was spectacular. The dining staff were very efficient and courteous. The evening meal was good value for money. The pool was fine. Information about the surrounding area was readily available and the reception staff booked us on a spectacular evening visit up Mount Etna.

Had a comfortable stay but was disappointed by the limited menu that didn't change in 11 nights. The pool was good and the staff were absolutely excellent. It's a 40 min walk the the town - and there's very little when you get there. You definitely new a car if it's a base for more than a couple of days. We hired one through the hotel whilst there and it was under half the price of the brochure.
We will do Sicily again but in the south in Noto or Syracusa where the architecture is much more interesting and the beaches are sand not pebbles.

We chose this hotel as a base from which to visit Catania, Taormina, Etna and other sites in the east of Sicily - it's in a rural setting but close to the autostrada and Fiumifreddo station is a short drive away, with regular and inexpensive train services to Messina and Catania and parking nearby. The hotel was great as a base - but it was so much more than that! The rooms are spacious and in a rustic style - we had an upstairs room with a balcony overlooking the swimming pool and the bay, while rooms on the other side had a view of Mount Etna. The pool is great, with a big terrace around it and plenty of loungers if you want to chill out. Breakfasts were fine, in the Italian style, and could be eaten in the breakfast room or outside by the pool. The hotel has obviously thought out the implications of being in a rural location and of the lack of many eateries in Fiumifreddo itself - and so it offers evening meals which, when we were there in early September, were served under an awning by the swimming pool as the sun set over Etna. The food was great, with choice even for us vegetarians,and was absolutely outstanding value for money - none of the huge mark-up on things like wine and coffee that we're used to in the UK. And finally, the staff of La Terra dei Sogni were absolutely outstanding - knowledgeable, cheerful, multilingual and couldn't do enough to make our stay a huge pleasure. Undoubtedly one of the best places we've ever stayed in.

Nice hotel set amongst lemon groves

A very enjoyable 14 days spent in Sicily at La Terra dei Sogni Hotel and Farm House, with stunning views of Mount Etna from our balcony. With a decent size pool and enough sun loungers for everyone it was a good base to explore the area and visit the many stunning attractions, although this would be more difficult without the use of a car. The only thing we missed was an evening stroll as the hotel is just out of town and the local roads were not pedestrian friendly at night.

Excellent week. Hotel catered for all our needs and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Lovely setting with fabulous views of Etna and the coastline. We did have a problem finding the hotel on arrival and the directions from the A18 need to be more detailed - we weren't the only guests to get lost!! Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable with all basic requirements.

A place to relax between the sea and Etna

We had a bit of trouble finding the hotel but were guided by the local postman! Later on in the week we found the signs in Fiumefreddo for the hotel. The setting is excellent for a quiet and relaxing time and the pool is large. We loved being on a farm and seeing the plants being prepared in the massive greenhouses. The selection of food in the breakfast buffet was varied, including local fruit. The evening menu was good but rather limited in variety if anyone stayed for a week. Staff were friendly and helpful. As the island is as large as Wales we would recommend staying in this hotel for half of the time and then moving to another centre if people want to see as much as possible of this lovely island.
Car drivers need to be bold and take their chances, looking out for other drivers making sudden moves and pedestrians making slow moves. Roads through villages are often very narrow. We would return to this hotel any time.

The hotel location is on the lower slopes of Mt Etna and has a wonderful view of the volcano. The staff are excellent. Very helpful and friendly, but also completely professional. The manager (Luca) couldn't have been more helpful.
Food is largely basic Italian fare, and prices for food and drink are good value for money.

We found the hotel location ideal for visiting and touring the Eastern side of Sicily (especially Mt. Etna). There are lots of 'Godfather' connections in the area for those interested in the film.
We will definately visit again. I would advise drivers to use a European sat-nav as roads can be a little confusing.

Wonderful hotel with great views of Etna!!!

On our late arrival we could not have imagined the lovely citrus groves & views of Etna we would see the next morning. Luca was super helpful, relaxed & made us feel very welcomed. We had a great room with views of Etna. Dinner was ok but my citrus risotto was too 'al dente' & lacked citrus flavour. The dessert of strawberry pieces in orange juice was simple yet refreshing. Next morning we had a lovely breakfast poolside amongst pots of lovely flowers. Etna rumbled whils we wandered through the citrus groves which was quite exciting. Luca gave superb advice on places to visit away from main tourist areas and was very appreciative about our comments on dinner, he said he'd speak to the chef as they were committed to constant improvement. We stayed an extra night as it was so lovely. We arrived back late the 2nd evening after a long day and took pizza & bottle of wine back to our room, staff were happy to open the bottle & gave us wine glasses. During the night the wind rattled the terrace windows and we had a power cut but all was ok by the morning. We had another good breakfast then checked out and left for a long drive to Selinunte. My only complaint was our passports were neither returned to us during the 2 days stay nor when checking out, this caused a big drama as we had driven 5 hours before realising they were missing. We had to get emergency passports from the British Console and change flights but in fairness the hotel had tried calling my mobile 3 times.

Welcoming, comfortable hotel.

A really welcoming hotel with friendly staff. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean and serviced every day with a good en-suite. Some rooms have excellent views of Etna, the sea and the surrounding countryside. Good continental breakfast and (optional) dinner at the hotel we found excellent.
The hotel is in a working farm where oranges and plants for export are grown - a very quiet location in the coutryside. The small town of Fiumefreddo is about 1.5 miles away. The railway station in Fiumefreddo is handy to drive to - we parked the car there and went to Catania by train.
Some noise from other rooms but this wasn't a problem during the night so we got a good sleep.

Clean, friendly hotel - great base to see the area

Absolutely loved our stay here. Were based at the hotel for two weeks, in the second half of August. There's loads to do withing easy reach of Fiumefreddo, eg. climbing Etna, Stromboli, visiting Taormina, and the Villa Casale Roman villa. You need a car though if you want to benefit from what there is to see. Good things abut the hotel: super-friendly staff, freshly prepared Italian food, (you don't have to have the whole menu but can just have one course if you like), weekly BBQ with Sicilian band, peace and quiet (especially at night), lovely pool, everything very clean and well kept. Bad things: can't think of any bad things, except perhaps if you want night life, there is no night life, and if you want luxury, it's not really in that category. However, we thought it was fab all-round.

Wonderful Hotel

We have stayed in many hotels across the world, from one to five stars. In terms of getting away from it all, in a place with attentive friendly staff and comfortable rooms and surrounds, La Terra Dei Sogni is hard to beat. It lies a short drive from Etrna and Taormina and within an hour of Fontanarossa airport. We hope to return soon!

A little gem!

This B&B was a really great find!

The staff must be commended for their friendliness and helpfulness; we arrived late evening after driving from Catania airport and one of the staff came out to welcome us and carry our bags from our car!
Although a small, semi-rural B&B it has a great swimming pool and on our arrival we enjoyed a glass of the local wine while sat out by the pool under the stars!
The staff also gave us useful information about trips to Mount Etna and were genuinely interested in our holiday plans. - It's well located for trips to Etna and Taormina.

La Terra Dei Sogni is very clean, comfortable and the staff are lovely! We enjoyed our stay, so decided to book in for a further night later in the week.
On our first night we had a first floor room with a balcony which over-looked the pool. Later in the week we were given a large, ground floor, family room (despite being only two,) with patios at the front and back - very pleasant to sit and read!

We decided to have dinner at the TDS rather than drive into Fiumefreddo. Although the choice was limited (a couple of set menus,) the food was delicious and good value.

Wonderful hotel in rural setting

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The first night we were in a room next to two children who woke up at 5am crying (and didn't stop!) and they moved us into another room within the hour. The pool was amazing (though a little cold for me to swim!) but it was nice to just lie on the sun loungers in the sun. Setting is wonderful in a very quiet rural area with clear view of Etna. The rooms were clean and spacioius, loved the super king bed! The only thing I'd gripe about was the breakfast. There was very little choice and the food/beverage that was there was unbearable. But would still highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It was a very refreshing and enjoyable stay.

La Terra dei Sogni Hotel & Farm House Review

We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful staff member who checked us in and insisted on carrying our suitcases up stairs. The room was in the newer part of the hotel and had excellent modern amenities. Dinner in the restaurant was reasonably priced and good. This hotel sits on an orange orchard and we were offered all of the oranges we could pick. We also had fresh squeezed orange juice at our breakfasts.

We had some difficulty finding the hotel using mapquest and the hotel site.
It is actually fairly easy to find if you know to turn from SS114 onto S111 at the end of the town of Fiumefreddo

This Hotel has an Excellent view of the Volcano Etna, close to Taormina and the Giardini Naxos, two places not to miss if your visiting Sicily.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, clean rooms, free parking, basically there was nothing for us to complain about.
The only downside, At that time of our stay Wi Fi wasn't working in our rooms. But did not really bothered us, we only stayed there for 2 nights and we still managed to get connected using the hotels laptop in the reception area.

Very impressed

one of the cleanest places we have stayed in; friendly ,helpful staff and great breakfast (especially the choc. croissants). Need a car if staying here; wonderful views of Etna. Would return, and will recommend.

A Pleasant Stay

Views are outstanding, sea on one side and mountain (Etna) on the other. The hotel is defined as \"agritourism class\" and it is surrounded by orange, mandarin and lemon plantation that you have access and pick your own.
The staff was fantastic all the time, very attentive making their best to serve you. They also organised a lunch for Christmas. Since is it very difficult to find restaurants open on that day this was very welcome and provided us with peace of mind and we could organise another small trip to the surrounding villages.

what a view

what a lovely setting at this hotel set in orange,lemon,lime groves and the location was good as other trees and bushes were grown here on the surrounding land.A lovely swimming pool and lovely views to Mount Etna and the sea.Buffet breakfast was good.also the staff were very helpful.you definite need a car to stay at this hotel but getting around the area was good as road links were good.Will recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

Friendly and relaxed small hotel away from the beach bustle

This is a great place for people looking for somewhere relaxed to stay. The staff are super friendly, the location quiet and the accommodation good. Recommended for families - probably best with slightly older kids - or couples. Well placed for trips in East Sicily - within 15 mins drive of Taormina and beach resorts. One of our favourite ever places to stay in decades of travelling. Breakfast is good and there's dinner too if you need - but we travelled out to different places for dinner.

Nice hotel in a quiet location

The hotel was very pleasant and warm which suited us in March. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, with a reasonable command of spoken English. The location was as described, quiet but with good access to main roads. Our room was very nice but there were no draws, good storage space otherwise.
The only criticism was the fact that the evening meal was a set menu, and you only knew what it was when you were seated in the restaurant. Perhaps this was because it was the quiet season. We chose to drive to Giardini Naxos (a ten mile round trip) where there were plenty of restaurants to choose from.
Overall, a very good place to stay which we enjoyed very much.

Beautiful

My boyfriend and I loved staying at this hotel. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the continental breakfast was the best I have ever had, and the rooms were very clean. The area around the hotel is also very beautiful. The only downside is the location. After we got off of the train in Taormina, we called the hotel and they told us to take a bus. We were exhausted from traveling so we took a taxi. Our cab driver, who lived in Taormina, had never heard of the hotel and said that there was no way we would've gotten there with a bus. I would definitely recommend renting a car if you are going to stay at this hotel, which is what we did the next day. We got to the hotel pretty late and hadn't eaten anything for dinner, but there were no restaurants to go to without a car. The man at the front desk was very nice and ordered pizza for delivery for us and it was delicious! I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Very nice hotel with a beautiful

Very nice hotel with a beautiful pool. It's located in a plantation, so it's very peaceful. No streets nearby. Easy and very safe parking.
From the balcony of the rooms on one side of the hotel you see the impressive mount Etna, on the other side the pool and the sea (some 6km away)
The room was nice, the bathroom very nice.
Breakfast is simple, as always in Italy. BUT, fresh orange juice from the trees outside the hotel. How fantastic is that?
The staff/owners are very nice people. Proud of what they have to offer without being pretentious. My kind of people.
I loved my 5 day stay there. But without wheels the location might not be ideal. The hotel has however bikes available for free! You could climb the Etna with them :)

Fint sted, rent og pænt, godt pool område. Selve hotellet kan godt anbefales. Området er dog lidet charmerende. Man skal have en bil og være indstillet på at skulle køre til alting. Supermarkeder er dog tæt på.

Det første værelse vi fik var aircondition i stykker. Da vi sagde det omkring kl 19 kom de og prøvede at gøre noget ved anlægget som viste sig ikke at virke. Omkring kl 21 da der var koldere udenfor ind inde på værelset (omkring 26 grader udenfor) gik vi op og klagede igen. Her ville de til kalde en teknikkere som kunne komme i løbet af en halv til en hel time. Hvilket vi ikke kunne acceptere, for hvad mu hvis han ikke kunne lave det, skulle vi så ligge i en alt for varmt værelse hvor vi ikke kunne sove.
Det var først da vi selv efterspurgte om vi kunne få et andet værelse at den mulighed overhovedet blev en mulighed. Her skulle vi også presse lidt på før det overhovedet kunne lade sig gøre. Her blev vi så flyttet fra deres offsite lokation til deres hovedbygning - dette var dog heller ikke smertefrit, da det varme vand ikke virkede på det nye værelse, det formådede de dog reæativt hurtigt at ordne. Her kunne vi så konstatere at der er stor forskel på standen af de to steder, hvor ved hovedbygningen er der en klart bedre stand af hotellet, og msrkant bedre senge i hovedbygningen.
Generelt virkede personen vi snakkede med i receptionen uengageret og ikke særligt service minded.
Morgenmaden var heller ikke værd at spise. Brødet var så tørt man næsten ikke kunne spise det. Dele af frugten var uappetitligt og der var intet du kunne komme oven på din yoghurt.

Bien mais chambres non conformes à la réservation

Hôtel très bien placé avec un bon service de restauration, piscine agréable. Le gros bémol est un mobilier vieux, une chambre adaptée mobilité réduite avec salle de bain en mauvais état et peu pratique. La chambre ne correspond pas aux photos du site.

Wir waren vier Tage hier. Und hatten eine sehr tolle Zeit. Das Perdonal ist sehr lieb und zuvorkommend. Es fühlt sich sehr familiär an.

Der Pool war schön warm und nicht überbevölkert. Eine kleine Poolbar gab es dort auch.

Die Zimmer waren gut und klimatisiert. Wir waren mit unserem Sohn dort. Und es gab viele Kinder in dem Zeitpunkt in dem Hotel.

Das Hotel ist etwas außerhalb. Und man sollte mit Auto anreisen.

Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und gut.
Wir können das Hotel ohne bedenken weiter empfehlen.
