Very pleasant stay. All staff professional, pleasant and helpful. Enjoyed dinner in the evenings. Weather unfortunately was not suitable for using the outdoor amenities. Only a short walk down to the footpath along the side of the coast.

Reception very good. Hotel very nice.
It goes down hill from there.
We tried to get afternoon tea but no food was available. A waiter said sometimes we have food, sometimes we don't. Today no. Had to make do with a packet of crisps. Service was poor.
We were there for a wine society evening and dinner. The main course was bad. The fish that my wife had was not good and others at the table agreed. My meat dish was, and I struggle to describe it, not edible.
The room was cold and, despite turning up the room thermastat, no warm air came out.
All in all we will not be staying here again.
No where near a 4 star hotel.
Finally some of the staff were not very friendly.

I stayed here with my daughter and I cannot fault this hotel - light, spacious room, great outdoor area including a fantastic pool, friendly, helpful staff and great breakfasts. The hotel is a couple of miles out of town but it’s a lovely walk along the sea front to the town and marina - or there are buses that stop outside the hotel and the cost of a taxi is very reasonable. We would definitely return!

Beautiful Hotel, Quiet Location

Reception staff were very helpful & friendly , the room was well appointed with a lovely terrace overlooking the gardens & sea.
Breakfast was a lovely continental style buffet with plenty of choice , our only minor negative comment was that when we gave our room number at breakfast the waitress didn't explain that hot food was also available & there was no information on the table indicating this either. Day 1 we weren't offered hot food at all , day 2 we had enjoyed the continental selection before we were asked if we would like eggs / bacon - so were already full up.
The hotel is slightly out of the centre - which was good from our point of view as it meant it was quiet. A short 30 - 40 min stroll along the beach front will get you into the centre.

Good stay in quiet area.

We enjoyed our three night stay but had a couple of niggles which are worth noting. The most significant was the poor quality of the beds. The bedding was fine but the beds themselves were metal frames with castors at one end - on tiled flooring they constantly moved around!
We have stayed in eight four star hotels this year and this is the only one which did not provide complimentary still water in the room.
The hotel and its staff are very pleasant and it is a good place to stay.

just back from a great tri to this hotel in Denia.
The hotel was perfectly situated near the sea , and was very relaxing. The food is fantastic, the restaurant serving a fabulous meal with highest quality ingredients.
Swimming pool was fantastic, and all in all, for a short break it is ideal, and you can walk in to the lovely town alonmg the shore, and there are 2 fabulous fish restaurants right on the shore nearby.

Lovely Stay, Stunning Hotel & Grounds.

Beautiful hotel with lovely pool & gardens, reception staff were very helpful. Very quiet location, two minute walk down to a shingle beach. Denia city centre is around 2 Kilometres away, hired bikes from the hotel in the day & taxi to Denia in the evening. All in all a wonderful stay.

A little treasure near the beach in Les Rotes

This was a great spot for us to explore the towns of Denia and Javea. Only a short walk from the beach and with two great fish restaurants nearby the hotel is well placed offering some rooms with sea views. The rooms we stayed in was a good size and the staff quickly responded to our request to turn the single beds into a double. Breakfast was delicious and in true Spanish style with Jamon and Spanish omelette along with delicious bread and pastries. It was not warm enough to use the pool but the water looked inviting with plenty of room to sit and relax with a drink if you wanted to. I would definitely go again. A modern Hotel with plenty of traditional Spanish charm and friendly / helpful staff

We stayed just 1 night and hardly used any of the hotel facilities, as we were going down memory lane. However, we have decided to return and stay longer. Our room had a small enclosed patio, which was delightful to sit in and relax after our horrendous drive up.
We really enjoyed both our meals - dinner and breakfast. In fact the breakfast was one of the best we have ever eaten in any hotel.
My partner one complaint was he found his bed uncomfortable.

Good hotel - some issues - a bit out of the way

Disappointing such a small hotel did not offer sufficient sunbeds or parasols. One day a parasol not designed for the base and therefore not secured properly blew off over sunbathers and into one of garden flats causing potential serious hazard. People left towels from very early and these were not removed despite hotel policy to remove after an hour if unattended. Staff were very friendly and very helpful but clearly overworked often doing 12 hour shifts. Most did not know when their next day off would be. This made us feel uncomfortable in an age where people are supposed to have employment rights. Given recent publicity about unpopularity of tourists in Spain such conditions of service are likely to reinforce such sentiments. Evening meals were generally of a very high standard and setting around pool was very nice. Gardens and general environment very pleasant. Location-wise a bit out of the way. Buses stop at 9.15 so really need a car. Bikes supposedly free though were told there might be a charge. Bikes also very poorly maintained and locks unavailable so only used once. Had to change rooms because sea view room as booked not available first two nights - we were given a better room in fairness - but couldn't unpack for two days. Proximity to the beach good - though rocky foreshore. Given high standards of food the cost was reasonable - especially important as little other options for dining nearby. Drinks could have been cheaper. Nevertheless overall a good experience

We enjoyed a relaxing week at Hotel Les Rotes which was quiet during our stay. The weather was great. The hotel provided beach towels for use on the many loungers around the pool area. We would stay again without hesitation.

Close to Denia

We were visiting Denia in December to look a property for sale. The hotel isn't in the town centre so your own transport is advised to make the most of the area. With a car you can easily reach Javea (Xabia) to the south along with other resorts and places of interest. The highway to Valencia or Alicante is close by. Denia, itself, has a good variety of restaurants and shops.
The Hotel Les Rotes is of good quality and comfort and the staff were helpful but we wouldn't recommend the large pool in December unless you have a wetsuit! The gym was a little disappointing with just two pieces of equipment, which I couldn't get to work, in addition to a hot tub and sauna (which I didn't try out). The sea front is near by and there are several kilometers of promenade.
Overall we can recommend the hotel and if we're in Denia would use it again.

Quiet location

Stayed at the hotel at the end of October, a very peaceful location. The hotel was comfortable, there's even a pillow menu (no charge!) which we too advantage of as soon as possible (the pillows provided in the room were a little on the soft side!) The staff were helpful and attentive. The room and bathroom were adequate, not quite our 4 star standard, some dust and dirt around the skirting and edges of the room. Buffet breakfast was continental but more than adequate. Plenty of fresh fruit daily, whole or prepared. Meats, cheeses, freshly made fritatas, cooked items on request, pastries and bread, yoghurts, freshly squeezed juice and a variety of teas and coffees, one could not go hungry! The hotel also has a spa and whilst we didn't use the facilities it would add to the tranquility of the location. Beautiful pool area and gardens too. Although the hotel is 3km from the centre of Denia there is a bus that runs to and from the port hourly and it stops outside the hotel, at only €1.50 per journey per person it is ideal, however the last bus is 9pm. (Taxis are reasonable) At the side of the hotel is a small road leading down to the promenade, a brisk walk will get you to Denia in 45 mins to 1 hour. Watch your footing as it can be a little stoney.

A very pleasant hotel

This is a pleasant, friendly hotel that would probably suit couples and families alike. The facility is in good condition, the rooms comfortable, the food better than average, the service fine, and the pool decent for swimming laps or playing around in. The trip advisor rating for this hotel was 8.7 when I last checked, and that is a pretty good indicator of what to expect. It's not the last word in luxury, but it is good value for the price charged. Probably the thing my children enjoyed most was breakfast, which at 8 Euros per person is a bargain. The hotel is 3km from Denia, and while it is a lovely walk by the coast to get there, this may make it unsuitable for those who don't drive, can't cycle, and dislike walking. The free hotel cycles are just about serviceable, and can be booked in advance, but need replacing. Denia is a mid-sized town with a castle that is worth a quick visit, plenty of nice restaurants, ice cream parlours and cafes, and a beach. There is a relatively newly built out-of-town shopping centre a short drive from Denia that delighted my daughter. Xabia is just along the coast from Denia and is a worthwhile day trip. While there, we took a 30 mins jet boat trip, and this was a highlight of the holiday.

Best Hotel in Spain but keep it secret.

Unbelievable buffet breakfast on sunny terrace 8-11am overlooking wonderfully landscaped garden with fountains amongst palms of various shapes and sizes. Bicycles available for 15 minute traffic-free shoreline journey to beautiful Denia. Helpful staff and 5* dining made our stay unforgettable. Large warm swimming pool, sauna and gym and even a resident massage therapist is the piece de resistance. Hotel is on a quiet road in a very leafy neighbourhood only 3km from Denia - perfect. Can't wait til next year to return. But please - don't tell anyone. It's an oasis reserved for the reader.

Lovely hotel but noise can be an issue ..

This hotel is lovely and very good for transport links with a bus stopping directly outside the hotel to go into the town (10 mins away). You can also walk along the promenade to town which is around 45 mins.

The food here is exceptional - I had the turbot and monkfish - both exquisite! My husband had meat dishes - equally delicious!

We had a room below the pool with private terrace. The first two nights we struggled with sleeping as staff were cleaning the pool area in the early hours! But we spoke to reception and it didn't happen again ... Relieved and then able to sleep for the other 8 nights.

Overall we would recommend this hotel.

We were really impressed with the Hotel. It was clean, comfy and provided everything that you could possibly want to enjoy a relaxing holiday. It was a five minute walk to the beach and once by the beach you could take in the beautiful views. I would say that this is possibly one of the best hotels we have stayed in.

Medium size hotel in good unspoilt location

The Hotel is set in nature and marine reserves with pleasant seaside and hill walks also within easy reach of Denia historic town by bus. All the staff were professional and friendly. The food was excellent with full marks for the buffet breakfast which is available in the relaxing time of 8.00 to 11.00. Our only adverse comment would be that the bathroom fittings need updating but on the whole a thoroughly enjoyable experience which we intend to repeat.

Sadly Disappointing

Everything you see in the pictures is what you will get. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The location is great too.
I terminated my stay because I was so unhappy there, and the hotel graciously refunded me.
There are two massive downsides for me.
First the hotel room might as well not have walls. You will hear every bodily function from neighbouring rooms on all sides, every part of their conversation, every cough, every bed spring, every footstep above and to the side, TV, and you will hear sex on all sides including from above.
You will also hear the plumbing from bathrooms all around you. In the summer if you have a balcony room, expect people to be having conversations late at night and this will be another source of noise.
I could even hear people drinking late in the bar downstairs.
You will also hear footsteps and suitcases in the corridors as the floors are hard.
If that was not bad enough, the Hotel is situated in an area of Denia known to have internet issues. To compound that, my ipad and laptop really disliked trying to connect to the hotel system with MSN coming up with security certificate problems and eventually neither machine would connect at all. The hotel blamed my machines. Moving to a different hotel in the area resolved the issues immediately. The hotel's connection system in my mind is very poor so if you want internet, this is not the hotel for you.

The hotel is a two minute walk from the beach, it looks great, staff are pleasant and the dining is superb. It's a bit far away from the main port of Denia, but lovely for a nice quiet break for two.

I left my jacket there and the staff were very helpful returning it to the UK. They went above and beyond there.

Wonderful Hotel!

We loved our stay. The staff was helpful & friendly, they even offered us a doggie bed & food & water bowls for our poochie. The grounds were lovely, with a sparkling pool & gorgeous lounge chairs about. The pictures on hotels.com are accurate. Really a lovely spot. A bit of a drive from downtown Denia, where we caught the ferry to Palma, but with our rental car, it made for a fun excursion to explore the surrounding area. The food was terrific, both breakfast & dinner. Try the garlic soup. We give Hotel Les Rotes two big thumbs up!!!

Good location, out of the the main town (Denia). Free bikes and quad bikes for getting to town in a hurry or a leisurely walk along the waterfront (~1h to Denia). Good for hikes to Montgo.
Very good breakfast, dinner was good but the starter was bit too much of everything (fish meat salad pate).

The hotel is outside Denia in a very nice neighbourhood. Everything surpassed our expectations - our mini suite was quite beautiful and we had a sea view from the huge terrace. We ate dinner in the hotel and found it first class. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We have already recommended it to several friends.

Very clean with ample toiletries.The pool area very mice and gardens well kept.Good choice at breakfast, no hot food on display but asked for an omelotte and it was no problem. Only stayed for one night but would definitely go back

Les Rotes Hotel in June 2012

Lovely decor, welll maintained, set in a beautiful garden. Good length pool, not heated but in June it was fine once you got in! The sea is about 500 metres walk away down a quiet road. Free use of the hotel's bicycles. Good breakfast. We greatly enjoyed our three day stay, The booking via Expedia worked fine.

Really great quality 4* hotel. The room was a lovely mix of traditional Spanish and modern convenience. We were at the back of the hotel so no sea view, but this means you get the sun all day. What made this hotel stand out is the little touches. On arrival there was a bottle of spainish wine and a welcome letter. They provided simple things like slippers, bathroom scales(good for checking baggage), toothbrushes, and a good selection of toiletries. All things you can get from most 4* hotels, but what I liked was they were there without having to ask.
The restaurant was small but the food and service was very good. The prices were responsible considering the quality.
The only issue is the hotel location. The hotel is a couple of miles from the town centre. There are a few restaurants nearby (including one on the beach, which was nice enough but a bit pricey), but to get any really selection you will need the car. It is only a five minute drive so wouldn't be too expensive for a taxi.
Overall I can't recomenned this hotel enough, well priced and beautiful hotel.

An extremely comfortable hotel, let down by poor service.

My girlfriend and I stayed four nights in September.

This is a lovely hotel. The pool, rooms and general ambience are excellent - clean, light and comfortable. The grounds are well maintained and the building is very pretty (especially when lit up at night). The reception staff and maids are friendly and helpful.

Bikes (great for cycling into town), Quad bikes (lots of fun, if you're sensible), minibar (soft drinks only), towels and various other things are all thrown in and the standard of services and their availability are what you would expect from a four star hotel.

Reviews on other sites apparently complained about noisy dogs in the neighbourhood, but this was not a problem for us.

However, we were really let down by poor service from the bar staff. It is not unreasonable in a hotel bar to expect to be served a drink when you want one. Unfortunately, the bar was never attended during our time at the hotel, requiring a humiliating buzz from the receptionist to summon a waiter, who on a couple of occasions appeared to resent the fact that he was called to make drinks. When eventually ordered it was not unusual to wait 20 minutes for your drink to be served - all of this in a hotel which was less than half full. We were always the only people at the bar.

The quality of food served in the bar and restaurant (accompanied by an excellent wine selection) is good - but don't order the \"award winning\" arroz a banda - it was not in my experience worthy of an award.

We loved this boutique hotel.. Very classy. Though not near sandy beaches-- it is a peaceful retreat with lovely setting and pool. With a car -- it s a perfect place to explore Denia-- which we loved.

nos hemos encontrado bastante hormiga en la habitacion, y nos han contestado que si teniamos comida, era normal, porque estamso en la naturaleza....
lo siento, pero por la fama que tiene el hotel, la estrella y el precio, me habria esperado mejor trato, y mejor respuesta.
no lo recomiendo, he estado en muchos hoteles, con menos estrella y mas barato y nos han atendido mucho mejor

Mindre bra var frukosten och blev besviken på maten i övrigt s tidigare varit väldigt hög klass med prisvärda flerrätters menyer, detta var betydligt sämre och det blev jag väldigt besviken på. Just dessa menyer har alltid varit en starkt bidragande orsak t att jag valt detta hotell

Un desastre.

Me dieron la habitación 24, como si estuviese en un sótano. Cama de 90, se escuchaba todo lo que hablaban en las habitaciones contiguas y no digamos por la noche que parece ser que arreglan las hamacas y sillas de la piscina que está encima de la habitación, parecía que estaban martilleando el techo. No funcionaba el aire acondicionado y hacía bastante fresquito, en vez de darme otra habitació me dejaron un calefactor para el baño, para la habitación nada de nada. Y todo esto por 144 euros la noche.

No me gustó la habitación es muy húmeda , la terraza estaba justo encima y no se podía dormir del ruido de mesas y sillas , las toallas estaban agujereadas no parece un 4 estrellas

Hotellet låg utanför Dénia, i ett område som skulle vara jätte lyxigt. Men omgivning kändes ödslig och väldigt många jätte stora ”tidigare” lyxhus var som övergivna ödehus.

Resturang på hotellet va en korridor med några uppställda bord. Måste vara den absolut omysigaste resturang jag någonsin besökt.

Vi bodde i en svit och den var helt okej, men enormt lyhört. Måste ge städpersonalen högsta betyg. Jag hade meddelat hotellet före ankomst att vi behövde ett ”allergirum” på grund av astma/allergi. Detta skötte de perfektion, städningen var exemplariskt.
