It was a very nice property, it was clean and they do accept pets. What they don't let you know is that they charge you $25 a day for the pet.... they only have one ice machine and it's only in one building so if you're in the opposite direction you have to travel a bit to go and get your ice... No biggie. The room was comfortable, because we have the pet we were downstairs and have a sliding door to the green area where the pet can go and relieve themselves. The included breakfast was great! Waffles, cereal and milk fresh fruit muffins oatmeal fruit juice yogurt with granola and fruit, bagels and toast eggs and turkey sausage one day regular sausage the next and chorizo and eggs another day. It was very good! The staff was very helpful We had a chance to chat with Lisa in the morning at breakfast.... She was very happy and very accommodating and it was just very Nice surroundings. The only downer, was the bed was as hard as a rock! It needed at least a two or three inch pillow top to be comfortable. Thankfully we only stayed two nights that's about all that are backs could stand. Because of that the rating was just short of a five-star review. Maybe next time we come to visit Jackson, you will have included pillow tops....

The staff at the counter were rude. Unaccommodating. The pictures shown on the website are not accurate depictions of the property. The swimming pool is a tiny hole in the middle of the parking lot. Rooms are dirty, and this hotel is being used by the city to help house homeless people overnight. Police activity and lots of unsavory people lurking.

The check in staff for whatever reason questioned my booking, for a two queen pet friendly room, and I had told them that it was the cheapest room available from Hotels.com. The receptionist continued to try and upsell me a smaller room that would've cost me more. The room itself, 130 A, had a bit of an odor to it, which I think was either mold or mildew. The beds and pillows were rock hard, and the cockroaches came out at night in the bathroom. The only upside was the breakfast, the lady serving up the food was friendly, it was fresh, aside from the turkey sausage it was fantastic. The guy working the desk when we checked out didn't seem like he was all there, or interested in doing his actual job. I will never stay here again, the only ray of sunshine this place has it that it was cheap, the homeless stayed away from it, and the breakfast.

This was the first BW where they put a $75 hold on the room, but released it upon checkout. I'm guessing they have had issues in the past, and this is a little protection. They said all BW are independently owned. I also called at 10am prior to check-in at 3pm and they said I could get early check-in. Upon my arrival at 2pm he said the room wasn't ready yet? If my room was reserved, why didn't he tell me that at 10??? Additionally, this BW had the hardest bed for a BW, so I hope you don't mind a firm mattress.

The hotel is a rather older hotel, though the location is perfect, just a few blocks from the main Jackson old town strip. There was a lady at the breakfast room with the tip jar when you walk in the breakfast room, you feel pressured not tipping. The swimming pool was open but the water was very cold though my daughter got to swim a bit (she was the only one at the pool).

This is kind of an older. Best, Western. The room was very clean. When we arrived we were a little unsure because the pictures don't kind of look the same. Anyway, they need to enforce their smoking laws a little bit better. But I think it's because it's in the town of Jackson in amador county where a lot of people smoke. They kind of are laxed with it, but it didn't bother us. The room was very clean and very quiet. Lots of places to eat around and lots of things to do if you like drinking wine. The black chasm caverns are nearby and I heard there's biking trails around. We are more of hikers, not bikers but there was a lot of bikers that day going to the frog jump in calaveras county. Everyone was having a good time. Need food in the morning. Breakfast buffet was very tasty and the two ladies that were in charge were just fantastic. Will definitely stay there again. Kind of third on our list for up there when I say that we are from San Francisco. We love going to the Sutter Creek Jackson area. People are very nice. Oh and also they are pet friendly and the room was surprisingly clean because some other places we stay our dog freaks out because she knows there's been other dogs. This one she could not tell. Good cleaning job.

Needed a dog friendly place to stay in Jackson for one night. Pros: dog fee only $25, friendly staff, pool looked inviting (although we didn’t use it), clean and comfy bed, AC worked well, quiet and safe. Con: room had an odor to it…hard to tell if it was smoke or new paint or funk and breakfast had limited selection of healthy options, room in tv was small, only one very small patch of fake turf for dog to go potty…lots of big weeds elsewhere.
Overall a nice, affordable place to spend the night. And it shared a parking lot with a delicious Indian & Nepali restaurant!

Check-in was a challenge. Attendant was a very pleasant young lady, but clearly unfamiliar with the job. Long wait to help the two customers ahead of me. Many questions about payment options, rewards programs, handicap rooms, service dog options, etc. Another attendant referenced many times for answers, but did not intervene. It took 20-25 minutes to check-in, only to then discover our keys were not programmed. As if not enough, the Wifi password written on the key folder was not correct. The attendant had a wonderful customer service personality; just needed more training. Breakfast options were very good, and the breakfast staff were very attentive. Kudos to them! Disappointed that when we returned to our room on the final night, our used towels had been collected but were not replaced to clean towels. Criticism aside, we will stay at this property the next time we visit this area.

I come over from Nevada every 2 weeks to stay there the weekend. An issue that needs to be addressed is with housekeeping staff. I always pay for late check out which is at noon, bearing in mind that maid service is requested they don't automatically just come clean your room. But I had repeated knocks on the doors starting at 9:00 a.m. from made staff. I paid for late checkout which is at noon and the door knocking begins about 10:30. This morning on Sunday we're repeated knocks on the door starting at 10:30 all the way up until we checked out at noon. This is not acceptable in any way shape or form we harassed about made staff getting into your room, when maid service is upon request and we had filed for late check out. You can have the room when we're done with it at noon until then it is not necessary to keep knocking. Kind of pissed me off actually. Other than that it's a great place to stay. But this will be addressed at a higher corporate level

My only real complaint is the main service can be very obtrusive early in the morning, and for a no-smoking facility the place always reeks of cigarettes and weed. And it's evident that there are people that are living there not just renting rooms per day. That doesn't draw a very good clientele

Room was clean extra large room with 2 queens & probably a hide a bed sofa, we didn’t pull out, but one of my boys removed back cushions & slept reasonably comfortably on it.
The queen beds could’ve been firmer as definitely lacked much support and I felt every movement my husband made.
Unable to try breakfasts as other plans but smelled good.
Towels were quite soft. Shower curtain could’ve been bigger to cover complete tub.
Bath sink spout was so short couldn’t wash without having water all over counter.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We definitely felt a warm welcome when we arrived. We had a spacious room with two queen beds. The room was very clean. As was the bathroom. There was a welcome note with two pieces of candy from the room attendant, which I thought was a nice touch. The mattresses on both queen beds need replacement. Both had noticeable dips in them from usage. After about an hour in our room we noticed a few cockroaches. Since it was just a few, we didn’t think much about it. However as our stay progressed (we were there two nights) we found several more of them in our room. As for the bathroom, I liked that the sink was separate from the toilet and the shower and both areas were clean and well organized. We did notice that the water was coming through the shower head with more force than was comfortable. It felt like needles were being shot through our skin. Try as we did, we were unable to adjust the shower head. Also the glass shower door leaked leaving puddles on the floor. With that being said, this establishment has great potential. With just a few fixes this place would be great!

But be very careful when picking your room as we had picked a king size bed and somehow they put us in a handicapped queen size room telling us that our original booking because they only have one king handicapped they have to keep it available. Staff was nice, but the hotel seems to be struggling with cleanliness or awareness. Our room hadn’t been swept or mopped in I couldn’t tellyou how long. Hair on the bed sheets, and the bathroom floor near the toilet felt like it was going to fall through. The room was huge so that was nice. Breakfast had moldy bread and sausage was burnt but the juice and coffee was good.

We stayed last weekend at the Best Western, Jackson and with some trepidation I score it a 4 out of 5.

First, when checking in, I noticed that they immediately put us on the second floor so I asked if they had elevators to which the clerk said, "no" to which I said, oh, no ADA compliance? "To which he said "what's that?" (I can tell he will one day be a manager in the hospitality industry.) I said, "that is the law that assures access compliance for folks with limited mobility." To which he said, "we are historical" (right, from the 1980's perhaps, not the 1880's.

I am thinking that some mention should be made of this deficit in the listing on Hotels.com.

No offer to look for a downstairs room, just, that was it. Fortunately my mobility issues are not critical (yet), but my impression of this place, where I had stayed twice before, became more so.

The place was reasonably quiet, and if you set aside the fact that all upstairs and downstairs doors to the halls were apparently open all the time (no security locking) and the guy blowing copious amounts of dope, which wafted down the halls from the staircase landing, everything was just peachy.

The room was clean and well appointed though. The Denny's next door had gone out of business.

I left this stay feeling extremely disappointed. From the moment we arrived, things were off. We showed up early and simply asked if the room was ready. Instead of a clear answer, we were told check-in wasn’t until 3 PM. Only after asking again did they mention the room was ready but would require a $33 early check-in fee. We were fine paying, but the way it was communicated made us feel like we were bothering them.

Our room was never cleaned, even though we were out for hours. When I called, the front desk immediately suggested we had a “Do Not Disturb” sign up, which we did not. Then they claimed housekeeping must be requested—something never mentioned at check-in, not posted anywhere, and not listed in hotel info. When I questioned this, the explanation suddenly changed. Their own website even states daily housekeeping, which contradicts everything we were told.

They said they could send housekeeping now but only if we left the room, which wasn’t helpful at that point as we were already settling in for the evening

I asked to speak with a manager and was told none were on duty but one would be in at 8 AM. When I checked out and asked again, I was told no manager was available until the afternoon. I requested a call from management but still haven’t heard anything.

Overall, the poor communication, inconsistent information, and lack of accountability made this stay far more stressful and disappointing than it should have been.

So much noise really early in the morning. I was on the bottom floor, because I am handicapped but the staff was really rowdy.

And in the cafeteria they seemed like they were bothered by my husband & I being there, they wanted to know our room number, and they acted suspicious about us staying there. As if not to believe we had. They spoke Spanish to one another but very loud for 7:30 in the morning,I travel a lot & have had many experiences with complimentary breakfast environment, none like this, then one of them began to sing a song in Spanish really loud over the t.v. They insisted on cleaning my little table where I sat it was a duece, only seats two, and there cleaning products were so strong, ammonia of some sort, but I’m trying to eat my eggs & toast. They could have waited until I was finished. They were in a big hurry to cycle people through. My husband & I are retired & this is a working hotel, lots of construction workers, it’s busselling, next time I would ask to be in the back part of the hotel because we like to sleep until 10:00. Over all the staff was pleasant. And I would like to note that I am Mexican.
