I was directed where to park for my room. When I went in, the closest stairs didn't go up to the 3rd floor. We had to walk around a labyrinth to find our room. When arriving in our room it was very hot and the ac was off. It took over 12 hours to cool the room down. We couldn't even use a sheet let alone a blanket because of how hot it was. Breakfast on a sunday morning only went until 9:30am. I think they should turn on the upper floor ac before guests arrive when its 86 degrees outside. The hotel itself was fun if we had time to learn the maze. The pool was a good temperature.

Stayed 2 days and no house keeping the second day no fresh towels the second day check out time was 11 am housekeeping came at 10:35 and pushed us out so they could clean the room. Can't recomend this hotel

I appreciated that the room was spacious, with a large window, and the TV worked well. The restroom was also adequate and well-lit. Breakfast options were not as plentiful as some higher priced hotels, however. Part of the hallway did not have A/C, which made it very hot at times. We found one ant in our restroom and another in the lobby. Its location in La Vale is good for Cumberland and as a layover between Michigan and central Maryland. The outdoor areas are well-designed and include Nature, so I appreciated that.

The bathroom had mold, shower stall had a giant crack in it. Lights in the room had plugs which would've been nice but they didn't work. Outside door didn't lock, joints in the ashtray, floors were dirty, ice machine didnt work, breakfast was just ok.

The room was good for an overnight stay. The one MAJOR drawback was the lack of elevator. I was placed on the third floor and had to walk three flights of stairs.

That is something that should be put in your hotel description.

the floor plan was weird, our room was on the first floor, breakfast,pool and host desk were on the second floor There was no elevator. The toilet in our room was very short. There were no safety bars in the shower. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant on the property was really good.

The pool is completely, newly renovated (however, we didn't arrive early enough to use it). The hall and entry carpets are stained. The \"back entry\" where we were told to park close to our room smelled of marijuana. Our room was clean and quiet. One bed had a clean, firm mattress. The other bed had obvious, huge stains on the side/bottom (probably flipped over) mattress which showed under the edge of the fitted sheet and a few \"lumpy\" spots in the middle.

While this was a convenient location to the highway, I would not stay here again. I felt it was very overpriced for how dumpy it was. I did not go through the extra effort of requesting a coffee maker for my room, thinking I would just go down to the breakfast room in the morning and get coffee. There was an empty carafe and no one on staff to remedy the situation. I found the room to be very hot and smelled strange. When I got the air working, the air conditioning unit had a terrible high-pitched whine that went on all night because the room was too hot to ever turn the unit off. There are interior and exterior windows. The interior windows lead to a well-lit hallway, but the blackout curtains do not do enough to keep the artificial light out during the night. The room was very bright. The walls were extremely thin, to the point where I could hear them running the bathroom water in the room next to me, all the way across the other side of the room. And gosh, all of the road noise. While I understand that hotels are not soundproof, this was probably the loudest one I've ever stayed at. Staff wasn't unhelpful per se, but the attitude was really unpleasant. The staff member asked me for my ID and credit card and I happily obliged, but she's still complained about how many people resist the question when asked. I didn't resist at all, but she went on to talk about how stupid it is that people ask why they need to provide credit card and ID. She seemed very miserable.

The staff was friendly and helpful. I gave 4 stars only because of the motel being a little dated. The hotel phone in the room was disconnected. The property is well maintained with setting of the picnic table a setting swing along side of the river. I would stay here again!

The room smelled terribly musty, and my baby started coughing a lot; he seemed to be having trouble breathing. We arrived in the early morning, around 3:45 a.m., and by 4:15 a.m. we had left because I went and told the receptionist, but he ignored us. We still had five hours to go before we got home, and since we were so tired, we rested for an hour in a parking lot and then followed him to our destination because it was unbearable to be in that room (213). I asked for a refund, and they refused, but I filed a complaint with City because that kind of thing can make you very sick. As soon as we got home, I took him to the doctor, and he's sick right now.

The entire hotel was hot and humid in the hallways. Breakfast was burnt and dry. I stayed for 3 nights didn’t have the do no disturb flyer on the door and they never came in to make the bed or to change towels or even take away trash….. had 2 different rooms first room had bugs everywhere…. And third room was a little decent but I wasn’t happy won’t be returning

We had a power outage happen late at night so booked this last minute to keep out kids warm. I mistakenly booked the wrong night , the front desk lady was rude to my husband and told him they have to double charge us, and request a refund. However it was a no refundable room so to avoid the confusion I asked for them to just help us. She acted as if the company would go under for allowing us to stay there without them receiving the payment the following week. After pleading my case because my kids were tired and hungry and just wanted to settle for the night. She changed her mind. After all that we check into our room, which was dirty, there was a strange stain on the walls in several places. Fine for a night, but wouldn’t choose to stay here ever again.

in extreme cold (not unusual for this area), I was given a room where the heat had been turned off. I turned it on and the room had not warmed significantly in an hour, but I was too tired to ask for another room that night and crawled under the covers. Awoke at 4 am and room still cold (heater blowing but not warm enough air coming out). Requested new room and was given another room's key. that room also cold, but within an hour was starting to warm up so moved over there. Microwave didn't work in that room. The desk clerk thought she'd take microwave from room 1 and move it to room 2 but was unable to disconnect it, so left me both room keys. I went back to room 1 and figured out how to remove microwave and take it to room 2. All in all, not great.

It was a really cool older building. Very interesting architecture, if they renovate again they should lean into the 70's feel. (although it may be older than that if the architects were forward thinking could be as old as the 50's) The room was clean an well kept. The pool was not open, they said it would be done soon, that there was a lot of work being put into a new roof and the pool itself. The gym needs some TLC. Maybe when the work is done on pool they go there next. Overall it was a good location for our travels and a clean room, at a fair price.

Checked into the place Friday night and the refrigerator still had nasty food in it. Complained about it the next morning and was told that it would be cleaned. Came back that night and the only thing that was done was the food out the refrigerator. The trash wasn’t emptied and bed not made. I thought rooms are supposed to be clean every day.

The staff here are very nice, the rooms are spacious, and the beds were clean and well prepared for my check in. I liked the overall quaintness of the hotel, and for my first solo trip - i felt safe and enjoyed the quiet environment. I will say the only negatives is the walls are a little thin and you can hear when other guests flush toilets or use their showers. There was also some mold spots in the shower.
