Far from town center. Taxis are limited to Radio Taxi Salerno and cost $20-25 one way into town. Breakfast has runny eggs, over ripe melon, and very limited fresh foods compared to other hotels we stayed in Italy. Hotel rooms need deep cleaning of dust, fingerprints on windows, etc. Staff are helpful. Use the grocery store nearby for food. Ok if you have a car as transportation is limited and bus stops at 930pm.

We did not realise the season didn’t start till 1st June so was very limited on meals and no pool. Was a bus ride from the town and we only found one restaurant open locally. Hotel was clean and comfortable.

The bed we booked was King size and the reception gave us a dingy room with a double bed and sofa. We complained and she told us that in Italy they was a king size bed.
By then we had been in Italy for a week .. we always had a king size bed do we know what we were talking about. We will never say at Novotel again!!!

Hotel with lots of noise - not for me

I asked for a hotel room that is quiet, high up and specifically asked for a room not over the restaurant. Despite the specific request they still decided to give me the room on the first floor straight over the restaurant with constant noise from chairs and tables being moved around. The room doors slam shut and can be heard for all rooms around you. The hotel is not quiet and does not have sound proof rooms. Noisy! I was also told the other rooms had even more noise from some gate.

The bedsheets kept coming off (too small for the bed) and crumpled up. The bathroom was completely soaked after a shower.

The pool was closed even though it was full of water. Kids very disappointed. Breakfast was not particularly good and very limited dining menu, albeit reasonably priced.

The area around the hotel is strange and the restaurants that appear on Google maps etc are boarded up.

On the positive, rooms were good size, easy to drive to hotel and ample parking.

Would I return? No certainly not.

Not a good value for the price.

Not a good value compared to other European hotels, may be because you don’t have lots of choices in Salerno. Bed is of the foam type, not comfortable. Shower is half enclosed, you have to be careful not to get water everywhere. The toilet leaks water and makes noice.

We were using public transportation, so it's easy to get from the train station to the hotel using the metro. Then, you can walk to a nice little mall, a great trattoria and pizzeria, and the salernitana stadium.

This property is terrific. I saw some negative reviews and can’t believe that they were talking about the same property. Room was excellent and clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Parking was the most convenient that we encountered during our entire trip in Italy.

Solamente disconforme porque la piscina estuvo cerrada los dos días que estuvimos hospedados. El hotel nos dijo que era por problemas meteorologicos pero el 30 agosto habia sol y no llovio en todo el dia. Me parecio una excusa ya q no habia ningun riesgo meteorologico. Solo un poco de viento pero mucho sol y ninguna nube. El resto estubo todo perfecto hotel limpio desayuno muy bueno personal profesional y restaurante con menu razonable

I was not informed about inserting the key card in a special socket in order to activate the lights in the room. In order to use the elevator you needed to insert the key and was not very easy to use or responsive. Breakfast was included and it was good. I will stay again.

This hotel is a great find. The staff are all lovely, the breakfast is nice and the rooms are very good.
We had 3 rooms and not a problem with any of them.
The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest Metro station which runs from the main train station to the football stadium, you can buy tickets outside any stop or at a post office. The other big attraction is Pizzeria Salernitana, the local restaurant around the corner. You don’t need to eat anywhere else, it is a proper Italian restaurant that caters for the locals, the food, value and service is the best I’ve experienced in Italy. The owner went out of his way to be helpful and even made our Dad a meal not on the menu as he had the ingredients and it was Dads favourite growing up in Salerno.

Disappointed- lots of extras. You need a bathing cap to use the pool. Which will cost you 2 euros. Windows and elevator glass dirty. One side of hotel faces a garbage area - highly visible. No complimentary products like the other hotels Shampoo - etc. black mold in bathroom tile area.

Clean hotel. Nothing fancy but it served its purpose. Quiet, which was important. Bed was too firm. Just gave a thin sheet. Pool was great to use but not enough space to sit. Plenty of parking. Safe area. Did not eat in restaurant.

Hotel staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Restaurant on site was nice. Not fancy but decent food at a reasonable cost. It was very close to the public beaches. The walk there isn’t pretty and there’s not a lot of food nearby. It is not close to the sites and activities but cabs are readily available and it’s an easy drive.

The building was very modern and new. The pool was amazing and the lifeguard was very dedicated to cleaning the it. A negative point is that the location was very impractical because it was very far away from the center of Salerno. A tip to get from the center of Salerno back to the hotel is to take bus number 5 and it will take you under ten minutes to walk back to the hotel.

Overall we had nice stay, pool was nice with the kids, room was ok size and clean and the service was friendly. Some of the common areas, like toilets and showers downstairs were very dirty though, did not give good impression how the hotel is kept. Also for the price could have breakfast included. We stayed few nights, and had ok stay.

The hotel itself is a little old and some of the interior components are broken and need repair. The bed appeared clean but I got bit by a few ants during my one night stay there. Clean, modern hotel with location near the water in Salerno. Was traveling with family so we had 2 rooms. Had an A/C issue with one room that took a couple of hours and a few trips down to the main desk to get resolved. The on-site restaurant was excellent! Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Only stayed 1 night on our way back to Rome. Would stay there again if we return to Salerno.

This is the second Novotel I stayed in on my Italy vacation, the first one I stayed at in Genoa was less then thrilling, so I was really hoping this one would be better. The parking lot, the entrance, the lobby, the staff etc., were absolutely great, first impression was I was going to love it. Then I went to my room, opened the door and voila, the same exact decor and everything as the Novotel in Genoa. Not the fault of anyone at the property, but whoever made the decision on the room decor, should be fired. It’s drap and reeks of IKEA furniture, oh, and the bed was incredibly hard, woke up with a backache the next day, maybe a 4in thick pad mattress on top of a solid wood frame. It’s exactky like a cheesy Motel 6. So, everything else was great, just really don’t like the rooms at Novotel.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Bathroom had a bathtub which was very nice (not just a shower stall). Free parking was a big plus. Hotel is not close to downtown, but the city train (Metro) station is about 4 blocks away on foot, and with the Metro you arrive directly at the central train station, center of the city, and short walk to the ferries to Amalfi. There are 2-3 trains per hour, and the front desk was very helpful about the train and ferry timetables.

The Novotel is a perfect hotel for vacation. It looks a little bit far away from the downtown but is actually convenient by Mtro or by Taxi. Perfect for drivers. The foods are very good. The hotel is suggested to explain to the clients about the food choice in a clearer way.

The exterior and interior were very nice & clean & the woman at check-in was very friendly. I paid for 3 days of breakfast up front & all was great. This wasn't so bad, but each time you used the elevator to go up, you had to first insert your room key into a slot before pressing the #. Again, no big deal as I'm sure it's for safety but this hotel's accommodations & customer service didn't meet my expectations nearly enough for this. While the lobby was nice & cool, the elevator and hallways were like ovens & my room was not much better. I slept without blankets each night & getting ready or returning after a hot day of sight-seeing was miserable. I remained almost cool if I didn't move. (I had no issues at other area hotels I visited days before and after in the record temps.) Also, the room carpet had stains & gave the room a smell. The bed was made but the sheets were obviously not changed (assuming those were my makeup stains) & I woke up w unknown bites along w/the obvious mosquito bites on my body each morning. The menu was limited, high priced, & to my astonishment, chicken could not be added to a simple 11 euro pasta dish. Again, I can live w this but decided I couldn't w the waiter. He was blunt w an air of having better things to do as he rushed me to order, then to pay. I wondered if he made the bacon for breakfast b/c it was burned & stuck to the pot. I've never given a negative review but after having spent money on such horrible service, this will be my first.

Great hotel, clean, family friendly and in the centre to reach everything in the area. We came for four days but ended up staying seven. The pool was great and games room for kids. Helpful staff and great breakfasts. Would definitely come back here.

Hotel worked out well for us in Salerno to see the Amalfi coast and Pompeii - Hotel is 10 mins from the Ferry and train station. The hotel as such is basic but its got everything you'd look for during your vacation - pool, restaurant etc. One memorable thing from the hotel was the staff - very friendly and helpful. The server (lady) at the restaurant was super nice and accommodated our special requests (kids, vegeterians, etc.). Enza at the front desk was very helpful as well in holding our luggage, calling taxis etc. The only critical comment would be the awkward bath tub - the half plexiglass is just useless and there is no way to avoid having water all over the bathroom after a shower.

Great Hotel, Out of the Way location

The hotel is really nice. Staff are kind and attentive. It is very clean, had a beautiful pool, and includes a pretty good breakfast. However, you will want to have a car as the area is lacking in activities and restaurants nearby (the hotel restaurant was expensive in our opinion). It has excellent WiFi and the airconditoning works very well! We had a good time here.

The bed was like a hard futon on top of slats. The breakfast was very good and well displayed. Our room safe did not function. It is a type of safe ,I have not seen, which required a credit card, not a room key to open it ????? They wasted about an hour and a half of our time attempting to fix it. They had a room with safety deposit boxes of various sizes behind the main desk or a room change was offered to us. We had just fully unpacked and we would have taken another hour packing, moving and unpacking, so we elected to leave all our valuables, passports and electronics in the safety deposit each day we headed out. It was a nuisance more than anything, but they need safes that use a pin # like most Hotels. Our room had a great ocean view, which helped make up for the poor bed and no safe. The metro is about an 8-10 minute walk away and very easy to access at 1.40 euro per trip to Salerno Centro. New beds and new safes would make this a great hotel choice.

Very friendly staff, location just outside Salerno is very convenient as a base if you’re driving. The exit to the tangenziale leading to the highway is just outside the hotel. The restaurant has a limited but good menu
Visit Paestum by car. Visit Pompei by local train which stops in front of the ruins.

Lovely hotel rooms and friendly staff. It was very clean and the rooms are really well set out. The hotel is on the outskirts which is great if you have transport but it is quite a distance to get into the centre of Salerno. I can't comment on the food as we didn't get chance to eat in the restaurant as this visit was to see family. Would recommend this hotel.

This was a great Hotel not far from the beach and our room Overlooked the ocean. We had a car and traveled to the Sorrento, Positano, and Almafi. We also went via boat to the same area, and the bost yard was a 5 minute drive from the hotel. It was great cuz you got to see from the land and the Sea the Amalfi Coast.
