Clean fresh smelling hotel. When first arrived room smelt a bit funky like a damp mouldy smell think it was coming from the shower but after getting a shower and opened doors on to balcony the smell went. Would definitely recommend the only other thing i would say is there was no air-conditioning switch in the room it wasn't too bad in October but I wouldn't have liked to stay there in july or August

We absolutely loved this hotel it was so clean! We had a room way larger than expected overlooking the beach it was perfect we couldn't have asked for more . The food every morning and evening was a different menu so we didnt feel the need to eat anywhere other than the hotel all week. Over all id rate this hotel a 10/10 from our experience. Our room was nice, however when we got back after an evening out and tried turning on the air con, the panel was locked. After phoning reception and unsuccessfully getting through, I had to walk down to reception to get it turned on, upon which they told me the doors had to be shut and only they can control it and that he would turn it on. I went back to the room and noticed there was a tapping sound coming from the air con, I phoned down and couldn’t get through. I tried to ignore it but it was very hard to ignore so after not sleeping for a couple of hours I called again, to which the night porter came and looked at it and said I could either have the noise or have the air con off. For context it was really hot still and the air con on was barely taking the edge off and the noise was very annoying and the night porter agreed there was clearly an issue. I ended up just not really sleeping. It would be helpful to mention on check in that the doors have to be completely closed for the air con to work. There was no wifi in the room either which I mentioned a few times and got dismissed as a non issue, I am tech savvy and your systems coverage just didn’t work in the room and neither did the backup, they did work in the lobby. When I mentioned the issues on check out I got the impression your receptionist didn’t really care

Wish I could Gatekeep this hotel

The Blaumar has everything you could possibly want for a quiet relaxing family holiday. I’ve been here twice in the last year with different ages of kids and adults and it caters for young and old. The staff are amazing from the reception staff to the staff at the pool. Fantastic entertainment. The only reason we left the hotel was to use the hotels beach bar across the road at the beach. We will be back

The Hotel was very good. The Breakfast was great and offered everything. The staff were excellent and very proffesional.My only problem was the hotels veiw on Drinking Water. 2 bottles given on arrival but nothing after that, not even if you paid for it. Its the only hotel I've ever stayed in worldwide where drinking water was not readily available for Guests, so stock up before you go to bed.

Nice hotel, good size rooms but we had problems

Nice rooms. Good size. Hotel is modern. We went in April. They wouldn’t allow us to control the aircon, and even though it was warm, it randomly pumped out 28 degree HOT air throughout the night which we could not turn off. We reported this daily and they basically ignored our request to fix it. Checkin was long, we arrived in the evening with only one person on the desk (Rita) and she seemed to struggle and it took forever!
Also; the car parking charge was a bit excessive and the actual car park is incredibly tight to get in if you have a big car. WiFi was poor too. Overall it was “ok” but wouldn’t go back.

Hotel is nice as restored recently.. However needs a bit improvement on daily room cleaning. Sometimes towels are not exchanged even if we left them on the floor in bathroom. Glasses were not washed. Bad smell in room after cleaning as staff turns off aircon. 3rd sofa bed was not ready on our arrival. We had to figure out how to set it up. We really enjoyed to have a drink and snack in Arena tapas bar.

I made 2 reservations. One, for 1 night for my wife and I. The second one for my wife kind and I a day later.

My mother arrived with my kid in the 2nd day. She was waiting for me with my kid and luggage at the hotel restaurant. I met them to collect his luggage. As I attempted to go and drop off the luggage and cut through the empty hotel restaurant into the lobby. I was screamed at that I could not walk through the lobby and I had to exit the hotel and walk all the way around and enter through their main entrance. All of this because the hotel manager does Not like seeing people walk with luggage when he is eating with his family.

Our room smelled like sewer. I asked about it and there was no solution.

Overall the communication and service is slow, and always with the answer that is the way we do things. I would never recommend anyone to stay here. Terrible service for the clientele.

In a great location with spacious rooms. However, it was not ideal that they had the AC turned off centrally and we weren’t able to control it in our own rooms, this made night times a bit uncomfortable and humid even with the balcony door open. Also the tv in our room did not work which was unfortunate and the room only had a coffee machine no tea and the mini bar only had water. Overall, a good hotel and with a few changes it would be perfect. The staff were lovely and accommodating.

The rooms were beautiful and very clean, the pool was pristine, the property was quiet and very family friendly, and the breakfast was very good.
However, the reception desk was quite disorganized and difficult to work with. We asked for late checkout and were told twice to ask the day of checkout, then when we asked the day of checkout, we were told that they needed 24 hours prior notice. In the end they gave it to us, but it seemed the internal communication was nonexistent.
We also ordered room service and it took almost two hours and multiple calls.

Even so, I would go back. The location of the property was perfect, and the experience was nice. I just hope they can improve the reception desk and the efficiency of communication.

Hotel was opposite the beach and 5 mins walk to the bars and shops... We stayed in the Mediterranean suite with a pool view and the balcony was huge. I would highly recommend paying the extra money as All these rooms have been refurbished and more spacious than others... The hotel was spotless, the staff super friendly. We just has breakfast included in our stay and it was great, something for everyone... I would never stay in another hotel in salou again. I cannot wait for my next visit.

Good position, clean, tidy, good decor. Really nice pool area, pool side bar very good. Check in seemed to take a long time compared to other hotels, maybe just a bad day! Only real issue was the access to our balcony which could only be done through the bedroom, the doors from the lounge area were permanently locked, no real explanation from reception (heard others complaining), just an inconvenience if one of us was having a lie in :-)

Administrative process is slow!

We booked 2 rooms at the hotel. One room was cancelled before expiry of free cancellation period. Room was charged. However after 2 calls from Hotels.com the hotel still did not process refund. They claimed no cancellation notice was received and that they have to verify that credit card was actually charges. The cancellation was made 9 working days ago!
The other room was taken up and we would rate it acceptable.

Quiet hotel, no atmosphere , probably as we went October, food choice not great, mainly catered for German clients, pool area ok but no sun umbrellas , if it had been hot would not of been able to enjoy the sun and the pool was freezing, rooms were nice and big, no kettle or microwave in little kitchenette , although think u could hire kettle which I thought was bit much, overall good hotel but probably wouldn't stay again.

A pleasant trip, recommend for a short holiday

We stayed at the Blaumar hotel as a couple for 5 nights. Following previous experiences in other resorts we were pleasantly surprised by the comfort and service st this hotel.
The room was a pool view of a good size with a lovely large balcony. A small kitchenette if you wanted to meal prep yourself for lunch. We went half board and the quality of food was very reasonable. Lots of selection at breakfast for cooked or cold food as well as breads and pastries. Theme nights meant dinner was also varied night to night and there was generally enough choice for both of us to be happily satisfied.
The pool area was clean and pleasant and quite quiet at this time of year (September). The bar staff were friendly. We made use of the free albeit small gym with a running and cycling machine and bench with weights 1-10kg.
The local area was really nice a beach a minute walk away, restaurants and bars in 5-15 mins walk.
Overall we were very happy with the hotel and would recommend it for a reasonably priced short trip for couples.

Great hotel next to the beach

We had just finished a day at port aventura and drove to this hotel. The rooms are nice, we had a king bed and our 2 kids shared the pull out in the family room. There is not a tv in the bedroom as it is in the family room. As we went to dinner, they sent someone up to our room to make the sofa bed and pull out the trundle bed and make the beds. We ate down the street about a block and went to the beach across the street from the hotel. We really loved our stay here and did not use the small “kitchen” but thought it was nice to have it Incase. The shower was also very nice as it had a rain Setting and went pretty hot. Overall everyone really liked the the hotel and we would stay there again if we ever come thru here again.

the check in the reception seemed to take an age, we thought there was a problem but after some time and after checking the reception team sorted it out. The facilities were really good and the waiting team were very attentive nothing was too much trouble. The swimming pool had a life guard on duty at all times. A very pleasant start and we will definitely stay again when visiting our friends in Salou . The rates we found really reasonable considering the location facing the beautiful promenade and beach and within a 10 minute walk of the town centre.

The Blaumar is located in the beautiful municipality of Salou. Salou is to die for, still an unspoiled tourist community with all the infrastructure necessary and beautiful, kind and happy people. The Blaumar is a very excellently located Hotel just right across the beautiful beach and Promenade (Paseo Maritimo). THis hotel has everything you would expect at a Hotel; Happy and smiling faces upon check in, Hotel Manager present and eager to Help us have a spectacular stay explaining everything to us about the surroundings. Our frontal Beach view (180 degrees) room is completely equipped even to cook, huge balcony, very spacious and separate living and bedroom quarters, a very nice suite and thoroughly appointed. Everything extremely clean. All included; meals, activities for kids, bingo, live entertainment (medium level). Some suggestions: I would replace their rooms furniture cushions and drapes from fabric that accumulates dust to hypo allergenic materials, And also a computer or two for guest use. This is a hotel that has it all; Beautiful People and Facilities!! Willl be back!!

Great value for money, location facing the beach and just a few minutes walk from the train station.
Food fresh and appetising every day though due to the hotel popularity, the dining room at times was frantic! Suggest dining early! Staff very helpful and pleasant. The only upgrade next visit would be to request a sea view balcony.

We had a nice stay. The hotel was nicely located close to the beach, and the beach area was beautiful. The proximity of Salou to larger cities such as Barcelona and Tarragona allowed for many types of diversions, such as sightseeing and shopping, with good bus and train connections.

Lovely hotel in probably the best location in Salou. Over the road from gorgeous beach and the port, 5min walk to bus station and train station. Lovely walk along tree lined passeig jaume 1 into salou.
Room was very spacious and clean, excellent bathroom with walk in shower and large comfy bed. Large balcony which overlooked a very nicely laid out pool area. I would recommend a superior room with a pool or sea view.

i booked for a double room i got twin room was very rude at the reception and was told nothing is comfirmed for a double room i offered to pay upgrade and i was told fully booked

i called from uk to ask for a kettle in the three rooms we booked no kettle was seen.

i booke dfor a massage for two people had to walk to another hotel and then had to wak back to our hotel and then was asked by the therapist what massage i had done and price very unorganise.

i went for my birthday my husband was told we will give a gift nothing was given but i find teh hotel very rude and has spolit my holiday.

Beds uncomfortable, terrible Internet connection, small and slow lift, quite a holiday camp atmosphere which won't suit all. Beware room stinks to excrement from other rooms

Hotel seems nice but they have issues with plumbing apparently they cannot repair and causes the rooms to have a strong smell to excrement from other guest rooms toilet's, staff is very nice and attentive. We raised this issue a few times but staff did what they could not being able to fix the issue as they said is a building problem outside their hands.

Very smart clean hotel. Only had bed and breakfast but the choice and quality was great. As a Brit it could have been warmer but they did have a microwave if you wanted to use it. Only criticism was there was no kettle in the kitchenette area so it was a bit dangerous having to boil a pan. Otherwise excellent all round. We would def go back.

A week with family (two young children)

The hotel is a very nice place. Food is very good to excellent with a very large variety. Many different offerings at each meal.

Staff was friendly and competent. Entertainment for children (ages 4 and 7) and adults was fun and varied. The pools and other facilities are very nice.

We stayed in two apartments in the building near to the main hotel. Access to the hotel and facilities was good although we had to walk a bit outdoors to get to the hotel entrance. There was a closer entrance to the pool areas.

The beach is just a short walk over the frontage road to the hotel and provided fun for the kids and adults. The town itself is quite nice and fun for just walking around or casual shopping.

The entertainment staff showed lots of energy and seemed to enjoy working with kids.

With so many children around, the entire grounds, including the pool areas, would be much more desirable if totally NON SMOKING.

With pre-paid meals (\"full board\"), it was very disappointing to be charged for water and tea at lunch and dinner. Those should be included at no additional charge on the spot. And, it was disappointing not to find coffee available either at lunch or dinner.

Charging for use of the room safe also was disappointing. There was no wifi in the apartments in the building where we stayed, nearby to the hotel. Wifi was provided at no additional cost in the hotel lobby. It would have been better to have free wifi in all hotel accommodations.

Stayed at the end of October, hotel was very quiet midweek but busier at the weekend. Excellent location next to the beach at the quieter end of town near the port. Room was clean and a decent size - it was a superior quadruple room facing the pool which had a bedroom partitioned off from the living/dining/kitchen area which had two sofa beds. Would stay again.

Stayed Aug 2013 for one week with family of 2 adults, 2 children. Had a superior room on the 6th floor with front facing view of pool and sea, and large balcony fantastic! Room was spacious, clean with daily maid service. Only slight negative was that the sofa beds in lounge were a bid too hard, otherwise ok.

We were on a half board stay, usual buffet style with a varied choice of food for both veg/non veg eaters. However, by the 4/5th night kids got a bit tired as food was same 'old'. There were a few 'themed' nights ie. tex/mex, seafood. There is also a barbecue outside by pool every night so if nothing takes your fancy in restaurant then this was a suitable alternative. Staff were friendly and helpful in restaurant.

Pool activities for kids were good, Mondays&Wednesdays were 'pool party' days where they put out large inflatable slide/boat etc well organised and great fun! Lifeguards were on poolside everyday throughout.

Reception staff helpful and friendly, check-in/check-out quick.

Really nice

There wasn't an amazing room but was confy and clean, bit old however there was a big sofa and a little kitchen, also the fridge was empty.
Was a bit sad the fact that the fridge was empty.
The pool area was nice and there was shadows area and sub area to lie down.
There where actuvitys for children and family as dancing and waterpolo games etc...
I liked :)

Nice hotel next to a great beach

Stayed with my wife and two teenagers. Buffet food to a good standard.
Beach across road is a lovely sandy beach with a clear sea. Hotel good location quiet at night but only 5 mins walk to lively strip.

Family friendly hotel in an excellent location!

We stayed at Blaumar for 5 nights in July. We LOVED it! We have two small children ages 4 and 2. The kids club in the day time and mini disco at night was perfect for them. They loved the pool and close proximity to the beach. All of the hotel staff was extremely helpful and the lifeguard knew my oldest daughter's name by day 2. The breakfast buffet was excellent.

Sea Front Hotel. 4* Comfort with excellent prices

The reviews of this hotel, the pictures and location really sold this to us. On arrival, we were early for check in, but for EUR5 we were offered a superior room which was ready. Fab service. EUR3 for fast wifi and right on the beach and by the local bus stops. Clean modern pool areas - What more could you ask for?

Good location

Stayed at the Blaumar Hotel for the weekend in May which coincided with the Ironman Extreme event so the hotel was very busy. Considering this there was only one person serving on reception, so there were long waits, however the receptionist (Agita?) was extremely helpful and friendly. The public areas feel quite cold and clinical with bright lights so homely touches needed. The room was looking a little a tired but was very clean. Only stayed BB and the breakfast was traditional of a holiday hotel. The bar prices around the pool were very reasonable. I picked this hotel for its location which is near nice restaurants and the harbour so away from the typical 'English bars'. All in all good value for money and I would consider returning in the future.

Great value in Salou

Great location, view of the beach, very nice pool. Front desk was very helpful, everyone spoke English quite well. Included breakfast was good, abundant choices, and FREE--all of which are not the norm in Spain. Parking was 12 E per night. Overall, a great value, comfortable hotel in excellent location.

Blaumar Hotel in Salou -- great beach location

We stayed at the Blaumar for a long weekend in July and found it to be very nice for a beach vacation. It is located beachfront across the street from a very nice walking promenade. Surrounding area is nice with shops and restaurants. The hotel room had a small kitchenette area that was convenient. Would return for another beach trip.
