Beware - expensive parking

Not a bad hotel. New, clean, good location. BUT: It is mentioned in the listing that they have parking available. And this is not the case. There is a parking right under the hotel but it doesn’t belong to them. They have sent me this information a few hours before I arrived, in the morning on the day of arrival. The hotel offers a discount - but it is available only if you arrive very late and leave very early. Otherwise you park at the price of the parking lot - a 24 hour (or less) parking is €27 if prepaid and more expensive if you pay by hour. I think that information like this should not be hidden and should be available at the time of booking.

Very clean, spacious and bed was super comfy.. shower was massive. Staff where very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a good selection of french continental food.. lota to choose from. Great location for town, bars / food and train station. Will be staying again for sure and would recommend.

We were greeted by friendly helpful reception staff who offered us the only room they had available at 11.30 in the morning. We declined and said we would wait as it was an accessible room. Our luggage was stored for us and our room was ready when we returned later in the day.
It was a large, comfortable room with everything we could need for a nice stay. It was very clean and the bathroom was great with both a bath and a separate shower.
The hotel is 5 minutes walk from lots of restaurants and bars and the local attractions are within walking distance.
We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again in the future.

Luggage drop off/ entrance/ parking all very unclear. No internet for entire stay. Staff did not know how to open parking garage door for our exit on a Sunday morning. Shower was moldy, towels were torn. Staff knew little of environs and could not guide us to places for dinner. Perpignan is a sketchy place. I would not recommend an overnight stay.

This is an ok hotel, located at walking distance from Perpignan's centre. It is not easy to find, since the entrance is not well marked, but you get there eventually. Rooms were ok, although a bit small for the amount of furniture. Bathroom was good, and so were beds. So a good choice for a short stay, at reasonable price.

Modern suite hotel well located for the historic quarter. Suite was very spacious and comfortable with excellent bathroom. Although there is kitchenette with kettle, microwave, sink and fridge, we were surprised that other than two paper cups, there were no utensils, plates or cutlery so there was nothing you could do. Possibly a hangover from covid but seems a waste. Note although garage parking is directly below the hotel there is no lift and no direct access to the hotel. Best to drop your luggage on the street or walk up the ramp.

I wold never rate this hotel as 4 stars. I arrived in the early afternoon. There is no parking space in from of the hotel,only one handicapped space which was taken. there was only one employee in the entire hotel behind the desk. No carriage or wagon or anyone to help with the luggage. We had to park the car in a public garage quite close to the hotel entrance. However, the hotel is not connected to the garage and their is not elevator in the garage. We had to carry our luggage from the parking space in the garage to the hotel. AS there was no wagon or carriage, we had to make two trips. When we made the reservation , we requested a king size bed or two single beds. At check in, we were told there are no king size beds in the hotel-only queen size beds. The young ladies behind the desk were as helpful as they could be under the circumstances. The breakfast was fine and the size of the room was OK. I would rate this hotel as 21/2 stars or 3 stars at most.

Terrible experience for a 4 stars hotel. No one help with the luggage, elevator stopped working in the morning of the check out for 30 min. Had to carry the luggage using the stairs, parking entrance far from hotel and also no elevator to take the luggage down had to carry them again. Receptionist wasn’t friendly and looking after Novotel suit and ibis budget at the same time from the connecting door. Also receptionist wasnt happy because i dont speak french.

Outstanding Modern Hotel at a reasonable price

This hotel was perfect for our needs. It was clean, modern, secure, well equipped and in a great location a short taxi ride from the railway station or 15 minute walk. The area is very good with several bar/restaurants nearby and a short walk to the city centre.
We love the Perpignan/Collioure area and visited last year by car. This year we travelled by train from London. In either case, we wouldn't hesitate to use this Novotel again.

Give it a try! You won’t be disappointed.

We loved our hotel room! It was fresh, clean, modern, and comfortable. We did have a challenge not splashing water from the sink in the little toilet room on the floor. Our room was delightful. Loved the white sheer curtains! Nice touch, We had a great view of the Pyrenees Mountains from our window. The front desk staff was very helpful.

Good hotel, nicely placed in the city center of Perpignan. Breakfast was really good.
We asked a room for 2 adults and one baby, the baby bed was the sofa, which converted into bed, I slept on it, and was really hard.
When I made the booking of the hotel, I searched for one with parking, but was never told, that parking had to be paid. Fix fee of 12 euros for parking between 6pm and 9am. It has to be mentioned paid to the hotel, otherwise it would cost 22 euros.

The hotel was nice, the rooms were spacious and comfortable and the location was good. The only issue I had was with the maid service. Both days I was there, I was in the room during the afternoon - taking a nap one day and on a business phone call the other. I put the \"do not disturb\" sign on my door. The day I was napping, the maid just came in anyway which woke me up. The next day (a different maid) kept knocking and knocking until I answered (having to leave the conference call momentarily) so that she could ask if I wanted her to service the room. I'm not sure why they have \"do not disturb\" signs if they are not going to honor them, but other than that, I had no problems.

Good hotel in a great location. 5 minutes walk to the old town centre with safe and secure parking underneath the hotel. Decent size family room for 4. My only complaint was that I struggled to understand the parking system when we checked in and muddled through pretty well in French. I asked the member of staff to speak more slowly for me which she didn't, but I got there in the end. Only to find that when we left the reception desk she made a phone call during which she spoke fluent English. Never mind!

Apartment style hotel near the centre of Perpignan

We have now stayed at Suite Novotel in Perpignan twice. It is an apartment style hotel primarily for business users but it also serves leisure travellers well. It is near the heart of Perpignan but far enough away to avoid noise and it is well insulated both externally and internally against noise.

There is a microwave, kettle, small sink and fridge in the rooms, and a separate lounge area with a table for eating.

They do sell microwave meals in the foyer but these are expensive compared to popping across the road to the Carrefour City Supermarket.

For business users staying away from home there is a network cable, but we just used the free WiFi which had reasonable speed.

The TV has various English language News Channels but no entertainment Channels in English.

There is a very small Gym with running machines though no weights.

Breakfast at 15 Euros is expensive compared to other hotels. We also stayed at Nyx which did an excellent breakfast for 9.5 Euros, although the room was smaller.

The room has a separate toilet which is handy if others are having a shower.

The room has both a bath and a shower. We only used the shower, which was spacious but the water pressure and temperature was just about adequate. There certainly was no where near enough pressure to power the overhead rainfall attachment, only the hand held shower head

Unfortunately it was very windy during our stay, the noise kept us awake at some point every night, when we asked about the level of noise hotel staff told us it was the hotel sign - have they thought of finding a solution! Apparently the mistral wind is very common in this area. There were lots of small things we had to bring to the hotel staff's notice. There were two of us in the room, only one bath towel, one hand towel, one sachet of coffee, very little milk, these were easy to rectify, but should have already been in place. We didn't have the breakfast as it seemed very expensive for what it was, only place to eat it was in a small area next to the reception.

A good hotel and a pleasant stay.

The hotel is located just outside the city centre, in an area that was quiet during my visit. It is a short five minute walk to the main shopping area. The public areas (lobby, restaurant, fitness centre) are very small. The hotel was not busy during my stay, but at busy times I can imagine the breakfast service will be challenging.

Breakfast was ok, but the buffet was somewhat limited. It was included in my room rate. I would not have paid separately for it.

The room was very nice and well equipped. My only complaint was the floor, which did not feel clean. It most likely was clean, because the room was very clean in general, but the floor covering - a flat somewhat plastic-like carpet - did not feel good.

The hotel staff were friendly, attentive and excellent.

Elevator did not work and rip off for car parking

Stayed at this property for 1 night and had 2 rooms. The elevator dd not work and we had to go into and out of our room at the adjacent Ibis hotel. When i inquired with the novotel about car parking they said it was 12 euro per night at the adjacent car park. When I departed the following day I noticed for Ibis customers the charge was only 8 euros for the same thing. As Novotel and Ibis are the same company I would have thought the charge might be the same. obviously they think the Novotel customers can pay more

Good location

Nice hotel in the centre of Perpignan, a few minutes walk to the old town. Helpful reception staff, providing a town map for our use. The room was very spacious and clean. There were tea and coffee making facilities as well as a microwave and a complimentary bottle of water. There is no car parking at the hotel but there is a public car park next door, which is expensive, 20 Euros for our 24 hour stay.

...we were unfortunate to stay for a few days when the weather was unseasonably warm, in April. Only a problem because the aircon was switched off for the winter, and the room was too warm to sleep in comfort. 'Open the window' the otherwise helpful reception staff said. But only one of the two windows opened, and the design is such that it flaps about and can't be fixed in position. Apart from that, a good hotel in a good location.

Good location, very funky modern room. Loved that you could open window. Walking distance to castle in heart of city and opera house attached. Felt very safe walking as a woman at night and in day around area. Good shopping and food options. Bed was queen when all other \"double\" rooms we booked on this tour were king beds but our overall quality of sleep was good. Shower was very large, bath/shower water pressure poor. Front desk staff not very helpful/attentive and breakfast very basic. Only get if included in reservation...don't pay high fee for it, not worth it, less than holiday inn Express breakfasts. We loved the city for brief stay.

Good quality accommodation and great location.

The room was spacious, with a stylish finish, great bathroom and very comfortable bed. The lack of a bar makes the lobby area a bit sterile and is where breakfast is served so we opted to take it elsewhere. Very reasonable rate for such good accommodation though as its also very close to the town centre. We would certainly stay there again.

Excellent Room Size and Features. Separate WC was convenient. The only very slight niggle was that they didn't replenish the tea & coffee etc as much as we liked, especially as we were staying for a week and not just overnight. Very helpful staff. The cleaning lady asked on the first occasion if our room had been cleaned satisfactory. Great location to city centre and bus stops. Would definitely stay there again next time.

The hotel has no private parking and no direct entrance to the rather expensive public car park next door (18 euros/day), which doesn't have a lift. So lots of hauling bags up and
down stairs. The decor of the \"suites\" is rather eccentrically modern in the French style. The floor in the shower was dangerously slippery. Location is very good - a 5 minute walk from town centre.

Nice hotel with disasterous parking and drive up

Good choice for Perpignan. Rooms are just fine, very nice. But if driving here, you will have many hassles.... disaster Parking situation with the covered parking not having any link to the hotel, not actually accepting the \"validated\" parking pass, and you end up paying the full fee because it does not accept the lower subsidized fee... and with absolutely no help available in the parking lot, you are either trapped there, or moving luggage up a steep ramp outside (no elevator at all, no route into the hotel). There is absolutely no possibility to drive up to front of the hotel, the whole plaza is blocked off with huge cement barricades. The hotel clerk said that everyone staying at the hotel was constantly complaining about the parking and drive up situation.

Very clean, modern and comfortable - excellent bathroom with large shower, breakfast buffet good. Only negative for us was the parking. There is an underground car park but does not link to hotel leastways not yet so there was no direct access ie stairs or lift and no preferential rate. However it was very secure and well lit and as the car park is very new and under construction, there may well be access built in the future. It did not spoil our stay and we would certainly stay there again.

Had a comfortable overnight stop here en route to Paris, we stayed in a family suite for 4 which was roomy enough for one night. Lovely spacious bathroom with separate shower cubicle. Beds very comfortable, we all slept well. Very good price through Expedia which considerably less than booking direct with Novotel!

Loved It!

This was a beautiful hotel, boutique chic, love the bathroom and shower really luxurious, its also very central walked 3 minutes to the centre, there was no building site when we got there probably cos its already built, we are a family of four kids are 9 and 11 and they loved it as well only stayed there one night got to explore all of Perpignans lovely sites and ate by the canal. We were going to the coast but needed a place for one night I think its great for short term stays in Perpignan otheriwse you'll end up wondering what to do.

Well situated, easy access to adjacent city centre. Excellent sound-proofing. Comfy bed. Superb bathroom. Wi-fi free and pretty solid.
Breakfast continental (not the usual hot options you get in Novotel hotels) but satisfactory. Towels not the best quality. Useful having the kitchenette; but to just leave a couple of tea bags is a little disappointing.
Overall a good place to stay and good value. We were just a couple so the lounge area a bonus, but the sofabed would be good for a couple of kids.
You have to manage the current roadworks around the hotel which make finding it difficult (satnavs can't handle them!), and the high cost of parking in the underground park beside the hotel (I negotiated a \"cheap\" rate of 38 euros for 3 days).
Perpignan delightful city, and certainly more Catalan than French.

Great location for chic hotel

The only drawback to the hotel is that there is no dedicated parking. The public car park underneath the hotel is not directly accessible from the hotel itself, and while we were there the municipality were re-painting the car park, which also made the elevarors unusable. Apart from that, which will be a temporary nuisance, the hotel was very good, with a great location close to the centre of town. Perpignan is a great town to visit.

Suite Novotel Perpignan

Pleasant hotel close to the town centre and next to a new funky designed theatre. Parking can be expensive, the €8 rate overnight means your car has to be moved before 9am. We got stung for €18 one night as it hadn't been explained properly. Most of the time we managed to park for free on the theatre car park/bus interchange.

The rooms are well designed and pack a lot into a compact space. It was comfortable for 2 adults and 2 mid teen children for 3 nights. Everything designed with sliding doors and even the table which looked big and in the way, was height adjustable so that it became a bedside table. Separate bathroom to the toilet which is useful for a family, and the shower was huge.
A good range of toiletries supplied along with coffee/tea etc. Small fridge and microwave. No plates or cutlery in the room but a small area in the reception which sold breakfast items had paper plates and plastic cutlery if needed. Reception were happy to loan us proper coffee cups but a couple of paper ones with lids were left in the room.
The nearest supermarket was 5min walk although no other shops were open and only a few restaurants over Easter weekend.
The staff varied in their ability to speak English but with most of them and a bit of school french from us we managed to communicate.

Modern room designs with all conveniences you need for a short stay. If you get a good price you should not hesitate to book.

Good location for exploring the small city.

Its not very charming and as well as you will not be negatively surprised you are not likely to be positively surprised either as the hotels lacks charachter

Not great. If you get a good price, go for it.

First of all, don't pay them for parking. I parked in the lot located about 100 meters from the hotel and I paid the hotel for parking for one night (11 Euros). I then went to exit with my ticket and it didn't work.
I was told by parking guys I needed to pay the day rate of 18 Euros. I told them I paid the hotel. They said that didn't matter and they, like me, did not understand why the hotel charged me anything.
So I ran back to the hotel, got my 11 Euros back, and paid the parking guys the 18 Euros.
Just annoying and I should not be annoyed by a 4-star hotel. Sorry, but I'll take some annoyance from a 3-star or below, but not a 4 or 5.
Nice building. Bed was average.
If you do stay, make sure you have dinner at Spaghterri Aldo. A short walk. Amazing.

Great for a couple, too sall for more than 2 peopl

We thought this place was fantastic in terms of location, the breakfast (charged extra) and the decor etc. However a big gripe is that we booked it under the (deliberate, in my view) impression that we were taking a superior suite suitable for a couple plus two children. How wrong we were! It was a luxurious room for a couple but far too cramped for a couple, plus a three year old on the sofa and a baby's cot wedged into the remaining space. None of us got any sleep as only a curtain separated us from our daughter and the 'kitchenette' had no more than a standard hotel plus a microwave - no hob, cutlery, crockery etc. So really quite different to the faily suite it was implied as being. The upshot? We're keen to go back without the kids but would never try and fit all of us in there as a family again!

Loved the futuristic theme and design of the room. The bathroom and shower was above average. The staff were nice, but cheaper parking or inclusive breakfast would have made this a better place to stay.

Suite Novotel Perpignan

Hotel and room excellent. Parking was in public parking under cover adjacent to hotel. Was told by reception that the charge, collected by them, was 16 euros for two days stay. Had to pay an extra 7 euros to get my car out of garage making 23 eutos for a two day stay. This in my opionion was an exhorbitant charge and the hotel reception had given me wrong information. They can surely nagotiate a much more reasonable charge.

Perpignan suites - great location!

I was a little aprehensive about this hotel do to previous reviews, however it was not a problem to park and the service, location and amenities are top notch! Definely a place where I will go back!
