I traveled with my wife, room was clean, pool awesome, food at El Mercado was good. Very difficult to reserve at Sakura and Steak Rest. Long waiting list at Route 66. I recommend Ocean El Faro

Nunca había visto que en un hotel todo incluido el sport bar lo abrieran a las 4 de la tarde , la disco solo los viernes , fue el hotel más aburrido que he visitado de 6 hoteles que he estado en Punta Cana
Ahora bien hay algo que si tiene muy bueno este hotel es la cómida
Y lo malo que tiene es la bebida por el precio que pague eñ otros hoteles de igual precio no tiene problema con las marcas de cerveza coors light , Xx, miller y este hotel solo cerveza presidiente y se quieres algo más toca pagar 8 dolares
Las piscinas sucias , eñ la playa no hay muchas reposeras muy corta la playa
Las amenidades malísimas un show de medio pelo eñ la playa
Osea que si vienes a este hotel es a dormir temprano por qué no hay nada de nada súper

We had a fantastic stay at Ocean El Faro! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The resort was beautiful, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious with plenty of options for everyone.

A special thank you to Hector Matos, who was phenomenal throughout our stay. He went above and beyond to help with anything we needed and made sure our vacation was enjoyable and stress-free. His exceptional customer service truly made a difference and helped make our trip unforgettable.

We had an amazing time and would highly recommend Ocean El Faro to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. We can’t wait to come back!

To be honest, this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, and I would not recommend it to anyone. Our room smelled musty and humid the entire stay. The refrigerator did not work, and the TV had no signal for most of the trip despite multiple reports. The representative assigned to us was unhelpful, and a special anniversary surprise we requested for my parents was never arranged. The food was mediocre, drinks took forever to get, and the coffee situation was unacceptable. The Sports Bar was also disappointing. During the UFC fights, staff changed almost all TVs to a soccer game because one guest requested it, leaving only one TV showing UFC despite most people being there to watch the fights. The bathrooms by the kids’ pool were extremely dirty, and overall service throughout the resort was poor. Between the broken amenities, lack of cleanliness, long waits, and poor customer service, this was a very frustrating experience and not what we expected from a resort vacation.

Teníamos muchas expectativas con este hotel, pero fue lo contrario, no sonríen en ninguno de lao bares las habitaciones mal estado es muy grande el hotel y bonito pero el servicio es muy malo en cuanto a la calidad.
Carlos el concierge muy amable hizo una hermosa decoración nos encantó muchas gracias le damos un 3/5.
No regresaríamos solo por el mal servicio que brindan

Avoid This Hotel — Dirty Rooms, Poor Food, Worse Service

We recently stayed at Hotel Ocean El Faro in Punta Cana and unfortunately cannot recommend it. The issues started on day one and didn’t let up.

Our room was in poor condition: the fridge, which was supposed to be stocked, had nothing but a half-empty Coke left by a previous guest. The dresser had a broken leg that staff “fixed” by precariously propping it back in place, making the whole piece unusable. Under the bed we found empty water bottles left behind by previous guests, and the bathroom had visible mold in the corners along with a loose toilet seat. The sofa was so stained we had to drape a blanket over it just to sit down.

Housekeeping was inconsistent at best. With four people in our party, we were only ever given four towels total, no hand towels, and no bath mats, despite repeated requests.

The food was a low point: bland, low quality, and served painfully slowly. The Mercado restaurant frequently ran out of basics like plates, cups, and napkins.

The grounds weren’t much better. The pools had missing tiles, several waterfalls in the lazy river were out of service, and the beach was littered with plastic and trash. Rather than removing the sargassum seaweed, staff simply raked it into large piles off to the side, where it sat in plain view.
Overall, this property needs serious investment in maintenance, cleanliness, and staff training before it can be recommended

Ocean El Faro is a good resort overall, but not an exceptional one. The property is clean, and my room was well-maintained throughout my stay. However, there is not much difference between the adults-only section and the family section, so travelers looking for a true adults-only atmosphere may be disappointed.

The food was decent but nothing extraordinary. It was not bad, but it was not outstanding either—just average resort food. There also was not a lot of entertainment or activities compared to other all-inclusive resorts I have visited, so the resort felt very quiet at times.

I did experience an issue with hot water on my first day, and I had to report it to guest services before it was resolved.

Overall, I would rate Ocean El Faro as a good hotel: clean, comfortable, and relaxing, but not particularly memorable. I am glad I had the experience, but personally I would not return because I feel it is the type of resort that is worth visiting once rather than multiple times. It may still be a good choice for travelers looking for a peaceful and laid-back vacation. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5)

Tengo que decir que el Sr Junior Cid en el área del loby nos atendió muy bien y nos ayudó. Relacionado a la comida es bastante buena. Pero el área de la piscina están desbaratada. La noche son muertas y la música pésima. En el loby tienen los aires apagados y la calor es extrema.

Este resort no sirve para nada. Al llegar, el lobby te recube sin aire acondicionado! El cuart huele a humedo y el aire no enfria bien. La tapa del toilet estaba quebrada. El mini fridge no enfriaba nada. Estaban mas frias los refrescos afuera que adentro. Pero sobre todo esto, los dominicanos y todos los que trabajan ahi son unos groseros
Mal encarados. No tienen ni un poquito de ser amables y sonreir. Se creen mucho. Yo de mi parte NO REGRESO NUNCA A REPUBLICA DOMINICANA!!

We just got back from an absolute dream vacation at Ocean El Faro in Punta Cana! The resort itself is stunning, designed like a beautiful, modern little town with gorgeous colonial-inspired architecture. The pool areas are massive and beautifully maintained, but the absolute highlight was the lazy river—we spent hours just floating and relaxing under the sun. If you have kids, the water park area is incredible, and if you are traveling without them, the El Beso adults-only section offers a perfect, peaceful escape.

Only issue was that the check-in took about close to 2-3 hours and got complicated since we added an additional guest and did a special request when we initially booked it. Which wasn’t taken into account. Otherwise the staff are amazing and made it really smooth

Love how clean this resort is maintained; however, I think the pool needs some maintenance (main pool) the overall experience was great. Food was awesome, the Mexican restaurant was our favorite. Great quality and the staff was lovely! We enjoyed all the amenities. Mikes coffee shop was our “chill” spot and the ladies were great. This is our 5th time in punta Cana and I can tell that this is the resort where the entertainment team was literally lost. The only activity at the pool was the aerobics at the pool and the foam party (once)… I think they should come up with more way to entertain specially at night time. They only had two shows during the week we stayed. The rock show was awesome, I wish they were more. Overall, it was a nice resort to spend a week at and relax.

We traveled as a family with a 5 year old and found the staff and resort to be adequate for our needs. The staff was always helpful and we appreciated our butler, Jose who we did not request much from but he was always quick to respond and provide assistance when it was needed. We chose this resort for its amenities with the kid’s waterpark and lots of options to eat/play. We like to leave the resort about half the time we travel anywhere to explore so this facility allowed us to be able to move about easily and return to a clean room to rest. The beach is just fine in my opinion. People report rockiness but yes there are some rocks, it’s not something that should be a deterrent. We swam in the ocean just fine. We utilized the buffet most of the time as with a young child we need the option to eat whenever hunger strikes. The food was great and a huge thank you to the man making pizza in the evening because he was always going out of his was to make my daughter her pepperoni pizza. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and we enjoyed our time!

Tuve una estancia maravillosa en el Hotel Ocean El Faro. Desde nuestra llegada, el trato fue amable y profesional, haciendo que nos sintiéramos bienvenidos en todo momento. Las instalaciones son espectaculares, muy limpias y bien cuidadas; las habitaciones son cómodas y los restaurantes ofrecen una gran variedad de opciones de excelente calidad.

Quiero destacar especialmente el servicio excepcional de Carlos Enrique, quien hizo que nuestra experiencia fuera aún más memorable. Su amabilidad, atención, disposición para ayudar y dedicación al detalle reflejan un verdadero compromiso con la satisfacción de los huéspedes. Siempre estuvo atento a nuestras necesidades, brindándonos un trato cálido y respetuoso que superó nuestras expectativas.

El hotel es bonito no tengo nada malo que decir sobre la fachada, pero el cuarto que nos asignaron no eataba preparado de la manera correcta para recibir a alguien, tenia un olor desagradable a hongo y a humedad, puerta de la ducha no se podia abrir, lavamanos tapados, cucarachas; de tanto que era la humedad que la ropa llego impregnada de ese olor a mi casa y lo peor por ese olor a hongo mi esposo tuvo que ir a emergencias necesitaba atencion medica, lo positivo es que conocimos empleados con una bna actitud siempre, ( Avelino, Victor de la barra del Lobby, Danny,el que limpia las mesas del Mercado y en las tardes en la barra del Lobby ay una persona bajita que tbm nos trato excelente de eso si me llevo algo muy especial, los que trabajan en el check in and out no todos tienen ese carismo pero hacen su trabajo en fin lo peor es la habitacion.

Es un gran lugar para elegir si no piensas estar en la playa todos los días y todo el día (tiene mucho oleaje y no es la típica playa cristalina que se espera de punta cana) aun así mantienen muy limpia la playa del sargazo que llega. Las instalaciones necesitan mantenimiento estético y alguna que otra cosa funcional, nada que afecte tu estadía (en nuestro caso no fue de impacto). La comida es buena, rica y de buen sazón, no tuvimos ningún malestar durante la estancia, si eres alguien foodie tal vez deberías buscar otro lugar. El personal es lo que hace que se lleve una alta calificación, todos son súper atentos, amables y alegres, siempre están dispuestos a ayudarte y de la mejor manera (agradecimiento especial a José Miguel que nos asistió en cada reservación durante toda nuestra estancia, al personal de Pez Dama en el desayuno: el Sr. Ramón por siempre cocinar mis huevos al gusto y al Mesero Isaac por su amabilidad y nobleza cada vez que íbamos; a la Sra. Orquídea en la cafetería por su nobleza y en el Steak House al Sr. Ricardo por siempre servirnos con alegría y risas en las noches. El Lazy River fue nuestro lugar de todo el día, un punto estrella de este lugar, si no quieres esperar inflables puedes llevar los tuyos y te los inflan. El bowling fue divertido, recuerda llevar calcetines. La heladería tiene sabores buenísimos, no se lo pierdan. Dolce Vita tiene una lasaña brutal btw. Nos quedamos en una habitación con Jacuzzi en roof top y sin duda fue una gran idea!

This resort was beautiful. We had a great time. We loved the pools, the beach, Mike’s coffee shop, the gym, the evening activities and the restaurants. The staff was amazing. Miguel Garrido was so helpful. He took care of our dinner reservations and was available to answer any questions we had. Berwyn at the privilege pool took great care of us too! Everyone was so friendly. We really liked the breakfast at the buffet, especially the Dominican food options. The buffet always had plenty of variety. We enjoyed our dinners at the Steakhouse and Sakura the best. We are looking forward to our next visit to Ocean El Faro!

Este hotel es uno familiar, está en buenas condiciones. El personal fue atento, respetuoso y servicial siempre nos hicieron sentir súper bien. Adicional el reservar con Expedia nos asignaron un caballero para que nos ayudara con todo lo relacionado a excursiones, reservas de restaurantes o cualquier cosa que necesitáramos del hotel, el Sr. José fue nuestro personal asignada y tengo de darle 10/10. La comida fue excelente tanto de bufet como restaurante, la comida tenía excelente sabor. Solo probé 4 restaurantes pero la comida muy buena y en todo momento pendiente a las alergias. Tienen un espacio solo de café excelente. Recomiendo orientarte de las excursiones con el hotel. Servicio a las habitaciones todo los día incluyendo las de la nevera o mini bar. Un buen ambiente con música, actividades para niños, actividades en piscina. La playa no tuvimos la oportunidad de utilizar por el sargazo. También tiene un espacio de piano bar muy bueno, De lo demás puedo decir que para mí
Familia y para mí fue excelente. Lo recomiendo y volvería.

El hotel para niños excelente, muchas áreas para ellos. Para adultos el paquete decía club nocturno y no estuvo abierto ni un solo día, ya a las 11 de acababa todo y no había nada más que hacer. Recomiendo que lo abran todos los días ya que los huéspedes están dr vacaciones. La habitación un olor horrible a humedad. Los empleados un hostiles no te ayudaban o un trato de mala gana.
Con excepción de Graciela en el family lounge con trato a los niños excelente.
Rey mundo en el bar del río y Miguel que nos ayudó en las reservaciones de los restaurantes.
Debería mejorar y mucho el hotel con el olor en las habitaciones, y actividades nocturnas.

Habitaciones espaciosas y bonitas muchas áreas de piscinas y los tragos en los bares de forma general buenos, sobre todo disfrutamos del lazy river y de los cocteles y el servicio de los bartenders del Pool bar de esa área. La comida lo que esperas de una mesa buffet y de los especializados en general mucho mejor la comida. El hotel es muy bonito y está aproximadamente a 40 minutos del aeropuerto. Las instalaciones, como arquitecta, hubo varios detalles de la arquitectura y la decoración que captaron especialmente mi atención. Quedé encantada con el lobby, el diseño general del hotel y la distribución de sus espacios. La habitación también me pareció excelente: cómoda, bonita. La comida del bufette muy buena. En cuanto al servicio al cliente, sentí que no todo el personal estaba alineado con el mismo nivel de atención. En algunas ocasiones saludábamos a miembros del personal o bartenders al pasar y no recibíamos respuesta. Sin embargo, nuestra experiencia con Héctor Matos hizo que esos detalles pasaran a un segundo plano. El hotel lo asignó para asistirnos con cualquier solicitud o inconveniente durante nuestra estadía, y realmente superó nuestras expectativas en todo momento. Siempre fue respetuoso, amable, y atento. Héctor nos apoyó con las reservaciones de los restaurantes y constantemente se aseguró de que todo estuviera marchando bien. En una conversación le comenté que estábamos celebrando mi cumpleaños y que me gustaría conseguir una pequeña vela para colocarla en algún postre. Para mi sorpresa, ese mismo día coordinó con el restaurante donde teníamos nuestra reservación para que me cantaran cumpleaños y me prepararan un pequeño pastel con una vela. Estoy profundamente agradecida por ese detalle. Son ese tipo de gestos los que realmente marcan una gran experiencia. Gracias!

I am very disappointed with this hotel because they have gave a room that the mattress smelled like piss I reported it so many times but they have never replaced it even though they said they were but they never did. They have also stole a charger that I payed much for which included the cable and the block and to finish this off the customer service is very bad. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

Great stay for families. Upon checking in we were given the wrong reservation. On day 3 our bracelet fobs became inactive, which resulted is in having to walk all the way back to the service desk to get them reactivated. Staff wasn’t very helpful. Not a very good stay. Check out was much simpler.

The resort was unexpectedly great!
I thought it would be just an okay resort but this place was super clean. I went with my husband and 3year old son and we had a blast. Entertainment was also great, everyday always has something to do.
I definitely appreciate how the place was clean, we had no problems with mosquitoes because it was well maintained.
Food was not so bad. Coffee was amazing.
The privilege restaurants were surprisingly good! Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I would recommend everyone with there kids and family groups to go here.

El hotel es bonito, pero la atención es terrible y tiene muchos detalles por mejorar! Estuvimos 4 días y solo 1 noche pudimos visitar un restaurante y no nos querían dejar entrar, el personal siempre tiene mala cara y es como si se estuviera de gratis y rogando para todo, por el momento no volveré a visitar este hotel, la habitación olía mucho a humedad, aparte le falta muchos detalles de mantenimiento y limpieza. También ahí muchas cucarachas, lamentablemente no fue la mejor experiencia.

El hotel está lejos a 40 minutos del aeropuerto, pero no tuvimos ningún inconveniente, la registracion del hotel lo veo que hace falta más empleados son habían 3 y delante de mi había solo 4 personas pero eran en grupo entonces tuve que esperar 1 hora para que me atendieran , esto es el único inconveniente que vi en el hotel, todo fue excelente buena atención, muy limpio etc etc etc

The best part about the trip was the suite we had with the swim up pool. Food was edible, nothing to write home about. Check-in was a nightmare and the line took over two hours after traveling all day for 9+. Staff was pushy to join their membership club. Others pools were very crowded so luckily we had a private pool. Air conditioning made the walls rattle. ‘Free mini bar’ in room was two beers and three sodas with no refill. Very expensive for what we got.

The majority of the staff were nice, food was good, the rooms needed maintenance, we stayed 2 days without A/C, and because I was persistent they changed the room otherwise they were always “fixing the problem” without outcome. We couldn’t use the beach, it was full of algae, which they “cleaned” and still didn’t resolve the problem. Do not recommend.

Excelente servicio, al igual que el personal. Nuestro mayordomo Hector Matos fue sin dudas el mejor,estuvo atento a nosotros, nos hizo reservas de restaurantes, trato amable. Este hotel debe mantener el área de la barra del lazy river mas limpio, tiene un area, esquina izquierda de la barra muy sucia. Otro asuntio a mi entender es la animación, muy muy pobre, en nuestra estancia solo dos bailarines y el jefe o maestro de ceremonia. Necesita mejorar esa área, ya que otros hoteles visitados cuentan con mejor animacion por mucho. Por lo demas todo excelente

The resort was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay and the amenities it had to offer. We especially want to thank Hector Matos for making our stay at the resort absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, he was attentive, professional, and always one step ahead of anything we needed. He checked in with us throughout the day, made sure every detail was taken care of, and truly made us feel welcomed and valued.

One of the things we appreciated most was how effortlessly Hector coordinated specialty restaurant reservations for us every night of our stay. Even when restaurants were busy, he somehow made it happen and ensured we had amazing dining experiences each evening without any stress on our part.

His communication, kindness, and dedication to excellent service really stood out. Hector went above and beyond to make our vacation relaxing and memorable. We are so grateful for everything he did and would absolutely recommend requesting him when you visit this resort.

1. My family and I were checked in on daily by Hector Matos who did a fantastic job with answering questions, giving directions, being available, making reservations. Extremely professional and helpful.
2. The pool was great, 4ft, warm water, activities and plenty of pool chairs.
3. Games were good, bowling was fun, free, VR ranged from $10-$25 my child loved it.
4. Room was the junior garden view with balcony double beds, nice but humid and very cold we could not figure out how to turn the air off especially at night, loved the bathroom.
5. Beach although beautiful had a lot of seaweed along the water line and rough waves, we did not go in.
6. Buffet was good a lot of choices, Restaurants- Sakura, Japanese was excellent, Dolce Vita, Italian was great, Steakhouse, was really good, must make reservations.
7. I gave the staff 4 stars because the lifeguards had attitudes and the initial concierge who checked my family and I in was rude, along with the buffet housekeeper who took my plate and dumped it before I was finished eating.
8. Overall the property was clean and well kept.
9. I would return and recommend for families as well
10. People are allowed to smoke on the property and I even saw a man smoking in the pool, but what can one do.

The hotel was a nice photopp spot and if all you wanna do is lay by the pool all day then this place was fine. Other than that. The beach had more seaweed than sand, the buffet had the SAME food every single day. Like to the point that whatever was for lunch was so popular that it was also there for you at dinner. If you were lucky enough to get a cup of water at your table at the buffet then you were definitely were not getting a refill. If i could rate the food and staff at this resort out of 5 i would give -1. And also on the side note, if you don't like sitting in 99 degrees with everyone else than i suggest upgrading to privilege status because thats exactly what it felt like walking past the only spot on the special seating area they got that was the only place with air conditioning.

First time ever at a resort where they took my luggage in a golf cart and brought it to my room 45 minutes later and i had to walk across the hotel to find my own room because the transport never came.

Desde que llegamos la atencion fue muy atenta y rapidi. Nos asignaron un mayordomo Miguel Garrido 10/10 . El nos ayudo en todo nuestros deseos. Tambien Gilbert en la barra principal en la piscina su atencion fue genial. Lo unico a mejorar el menu del buffet muy repetitivo. Por lo demas un bonito hote. Volveria. Recomendado.
