Alphonso and his team were excellent. The rooms are a bit older but are very clean and functional. Convenient to everything in this small seaside town, including loading on boat tours to Amalfi, Positano and Capri right in front of the hotel. Food was excellent in their ocean front dining room. Highly recommend due to its quiet and tranquil environment while having ability to tour crowded towns of Amalfi and Positano. Beach was right in front of the hotel and towels and lounge chairs were included in the room cost, along with breakfast.

Comfortable beachfront hotel with a restaurant to be able to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. The property has steps but not as many as you would find in other areas of the Amalfi Coast. They also include the beach chairs. Plus, they have a convenient Boat Tour stand at the property where you can book day trips to Capri, Positano and Amalfi.

This is a fabulous place to stay! The family that owns and operates the property are friendly, attentive, and helpful. The food in their restaurant is locally sourced and deliciously prepared. We loved the slow pace which invited relaxation. The prices are very reasonable—we will be back!

We loved this place! Initially we were surprised to learn how far Massa Lubrense is from Sorrento but then we were relieved upon arrival. It was far superior to the touristy overload of Sorrento. A lovely small coastal town with all you need right there. The hotel itself was perfect. Staff great. Highly recommend.

Very wonderful marina and restaurants nearby. Not very friendly staff. Would recommend the town but not the hotel. Make sure you plan the boat excursion when you 1st arrive.

Amalfi Coast Gem!!

This location is perfect for families who want to visit the Amalfi coast and live in a low key area right on the beach. There are few hotels here but they are more like family run B&B's. La Certosa was great, Allessandro and Alfonso, both brothers run this place with family and they do a great job. Their service is excellent and they cater to each and every client. Location is on the beach, you get food at your beach chairs, great way to wind down and relax!! The town is 5 kms away, and it is right between Sorrento and Positano.We rented a small car, parked for free at Certosa private yard in a small alley way, we drove late afternoon and evenings to Sorrento and Positano. PERFECT!!

We had an amazing time on our 3 nights stay!
The rooms with the sea view and terrace are probably the best. The hotel and restaurant down stairs is family run. It is basic but very pleasant.
The best part is its location in the middle of the tiny strip of Marina del Cantone. Steps to Crystal clear waters, amongs amazing local restaurants and possibly to cruise to other destinations.
We would definitely stay again.

Amazing location literally meters from the crashing sea! Right on the beach, we had a lovely small balcony so could see the whole bay from our room. A bit difficult to locate and find the front door, might be tricky with heavy luggage. We went out of season (only us staying) so was a little cold. The hotel is dated but full of character.

We got a rough start, because we was not expecting a 15€ pr night extra for parking. Allesandro at the check in was welcoming. But we must say the rest of the staff was rather rude. The room was smal, with no view, and the ac was not working before late at night. The second night we told the staff about the warm room, and they just replied that it was cold outside and no need for AC. Allesandro was again helpful and turned the ac on for us. Turned out that the ac is off if no-one asks to turn it on. The location is beautiful with free beach chairs and umbrellas. Nice hikes in the area and plenty of restaurants/bars for most people.

Hotel Certosa is a small, traditional family run Italian albergho. It's simple, clean and comfortable. The location is superb - right on the beach at Marina del Cantone. The family have run the place for three generations. Everyone was so helpful and friendly and the hotels restaurant has a great chef. It was just what we wanted - good hotel, good service, good value, giving us a complete break, peace and quiet, beautiful views all around, walking, bus service, sea swimming and boating and great places to eat.

Beautiful, romantic hotel

Recently returned from a short break in this delightful hotel. Situated right on the beach in Massa Lubrense, it is a little gem. We had a room with a sea view and terrace, well worth the extra money. Breakfast was an absolute feast. We ate at the hotel each evening, and the food was well cooked, honest, home cooking, wonderful. Hotel was really quiet, as out of season, but the staff were still attentive and helpful. Only thing to warn
about, the hotel is over 2 floors, and as there isn't a lift, the stairs can be fairly hard work. If you want an away from it all break, I would totally recommend this hotel. Will be going back again later in the year.

Lovely place on the beach, room was very small given the available floor space was filled with our 2 bags and we booked a triple room and got a double which is why it only got 3 stars. It was very clean comfortable and had a great views of the ocean. Service was excellent. Wifi only worked a proportion of the time. The hotel has sun beds on the beach sectioned off for guests. It is a very busy beach. Food in the restaurant was superb.

Parking was at the rear in a public car park and cost an additional 15 Euros a day

Romantic. Beautiful. Scenic. Spectacular Views.

We stayed for our honeymoon for 7 days. It was wonderful especially for the price! The restaurant Pappone was delicious and good value! The rooms were so clean and the bathrooms were hand painted tiles. It is air conditioned which is a real luxury especially in the 3pm heat. I would recommend this to anyone. If you want a low key holiday, with great walks, THE BEST SEAFOOD then this is your place. We also caught a boat for €35 euro and travelled to Amalfi and Positano - which was super nice for comparison. Those towns are super touristy and busy. It made us realize how special le Certosa is. We wish we were still there.

Fabulous family run hotel on the beach.

We had the most amazing 2 week holiday staying at La Certosa. The hotel is family run and full of history. It is located in the beautiful Marina del Cantone which too has a family feel to it. Nothing is every too much trouble and the atmosphere is relaxed and laid back. Perfect for that wind down vacation.

Perfect Getaway!

This is a family owned hotel/restaurant and our relaxation heaven. It's a small fishing village about 45 minute bus ride from Sorrento and a boat ride to Capri. The family is very sweet, helpful and attentive, they were very well informed and took time to help us with our transportation issues. If you are looking for peace, a few days to decompress and just enjoy the beauty of Italy- then this is a great place. Lot's of great restaurants all around. We had one of the rooms with a balcony and a view of the sunrise and sunset. We spent a day on the mini-beach area, and enjoyed some wine from the local shop. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and reasonable size. It's still not A/C season over there so a bit warm at night but it was nice to hear the waves crashing. Grazie per una meravigliosa esperienza! We will definitely be going back!

We stayed three days in this thousand year old monastery with a modern twist to it.i must say it does not look as picturesque as its neighbouring seafront hotels but it more than makes up in character.This hotel is a clean and friendly family affair.We asked for a bedroom with sea view balcony luckily managing to get one of only four available, these though had only viewing from above the bricked balcony ie roof terrace but was fine once you cushioned a chair.

Hotel in excellent location, good value for money.

Staff helpful and fun. Food very good, standard room with sea view has a very useful balcony. The cove has several restaurants on stilts, so you get a fabulous view of the ocean and do not need to travel to eat out. The super rich pull their yachts into the bay to eat, so a great place to people watch. We particularly liked the pizzeria and bar next to this. We found it a good location to explore the region and have sometime on the beach. We have no hesitation in recommending it to others but it would help if visitors go with some basic Italian phrases. Definitely a place to return to, which is high praise, as the world is a big place. We could not believe we got that lucky, booking a holiday on the internet can feel risky but La Certosa exceeded our expectations. We had a great holiday, thanks.

Become like an un welcome guest for the first day or two, then try speaking some Italian and your host Italian family will make u feel more welcome. 700 yr old former Monastery - this is an amazing space and Alfonso will be very helpful if u ask.....

A true gem in a secluded harbor of Amalfi Coast

My parents recommended this place after staying here a few years ago. It's a perfect place for someone who has a car, although, there are bus and boat services close by. This is a true gem in the middle of nowhere, but so well connected to everything. Just half an hour away from Sorrento, 45 min away from Positano and the boats to Capri and Amalfi coast right in front of the hotel. It's run by a wonderful family and it feels like family. The hotel's restaurant serves some of the best homemade Italian cuisine I've ever had. The mother of the household bakes fresh pies every day from local ingredients, makes her own pasta and they serve daily catch (fish, seafood) every day. The house wine, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, cheese, veggies, fruits and even limoncello is from the local areas - delicious! Younger son makes delicious cappuccinos every morning. It's quiet. The beach is clean and cozy - one of the best we've visited in Amalfi Coast. Waking up to the sound of the Mediterranean sea right in front of the hotel is delicious. Not a sound. Everything acts like a family. We are a young outgoing couple from NYC who travel a lot and we couldn't be more happier with this place. I'd come here again in a few years and with our children, when we have them. It's both romantic, perfect for a couple, as well as for a family with kids. I'll definitely miss this place! Not even the beaches of Capri, Sorrento and Positano could compare with this place!

The hotel was very clean! The owners were very friendly and helpful with any questions that we asked them. I would recommend this hotel to others! The hotel is right on the water! The hotel is accessible from Sorrento by bus, which is approximately a 40 minute ride, but doesn't seem that long once on it.

Un séjour tout simplement merveilleux ! Chaque matin, nous avons savouré un délicieux petit déjeuner face à la plage, un vrai moment de bonheur. Le dîner, avec son menu simple mais composé de produits frais et parfaitement cuisinés, a été un régal à chaque fois.
La chambre, sobre mais impeccablement propre, offrait une superbe vue sur la mer un plaisir au réveil comme au coucher du soleil.
Un hôtel idéal pour les amoureux de nature et de randonnée. Nous en garderons un souvenir précieux  de notre anniversaire pour nos 60 ans

A dream hotel

I can write several pages how we enjoyed this place. The room was clean and warm enough as our visit was between Xmas and new year. The view was amazing as the hotel is few meters to the sea. The staff are very friendly and helpful that we felt being home. Top level breakfast with fresh stuff and sea view. The food in the restaurant was also amazing so we decided to go to the hotel restaurant for all the meals. Both indoor and outdoor atmosphere is amazing. Outdoor with sea view and indoor with fireplace. Overall, this was the highlight of our travel.

Попал в этот отель совершенно случайно,находясь в этом городке,так как все отели были заняты,увидел оценку в 8 баллов и повелся,деньги списали сразу за 6 дней и пришлось остаться в нем.(((Хамское обслуживание,полотенца не меняют,с недовольными лицами ходят,семейный подряд там,только море и собственный пляж с лежаками сгладил мой отдых,не советую

Località con molti problemi

La struttura ha il vantaggio di essere vicino al mare.La spiaggia, costituita da grossi sassi, è antistante l'hotel, ma, purtroppo è impraticabile senza robuste scarpette ed è nella zona dell'unico pontile, dove approdavano e partivano un centinaio di barche al giorno per le gite nelle località circostanti. Si era quindi, a pochi metri, negli scarichi di tali barche e purtroppo anche in un mare infestato da meduse che ci ha costretto ad anticipare la partenza di tre notti su sette, essendo io allergico con grave pericolo per la mia salute. Nessuno sconto è stato praticato.Non esistendo alternative il parcheggio obbligato è molto caro.

Il posto, Marina del Cantone, è bello. L'albergo si trova direttamente sul mare. Il servizio è stato efficiente e disponibile. La pulizia è uno dei punti d'eccellenza. Buona la colazione, arricchita con specialità e dolci locali. La tranquillità del posto è la degna cornice di chi cerca un po' di relax. Struttura da migliorare, ma complessivamente il nostro soggiorno è stato molto piacevole. Da ritornarci, possibilmente in primavera.

Italienische Gastfreundschaft perfekt serviert, reizendes Personal, charmantes Ambiente, die Lage ein Traum: nicht nur die Küche im Haus ist ein Gedicht, sämtliche umliegende Lokale kochen auf höchstem Niveau. Dazu ein kristallklares, türkisgrünes Meer, ein perfekt organisiertes Ausflugsprogramm per Boot, ein paar kleine Läden und eine entspannte Dorf Atmosphäre, in die man mit offenen Armen aufgenommen wird.

Hotel la Certosa on oivallinen perhe ja rantalomalle. Hotellista rantaan noin kaksi minuuttia. Vihhtyisän hotellin sijainti ei voisi olla parempi. Aamiainen hotellin ravintolassa ja merinäkymillä kuului hintaan. Lähellä useita ravintoloita, hotellin ravintolassa voi myös syödä. Ranta on pitkä ja suosittu. Palvelu oli tosi hyvä.
