We enjoyed our 10 day trip in Happy Cretan . Everything was good close to nice beach. We enjoyed the bike ride that is offered by free. The only complaint was that first night in the restaurant that we went the bill was to expensive compared to all restaurants in the Crete.

The entire staff were friendly, welcoming and extremely professional. The property was unique… the room was spacious and the amenities were endless. We loved the high end blue tooth speaker system in our room as well as the robes and slippers. Dimitrios and Kostas were very helpful and Elizabeth gave us terrific deep tissue messages. Stella took great care of our room. The restaurant onsite was excellent and we were well attended to by the staff. We are grateful! We will return for sure!!

I had a stunning stay at Happy Cretan Suites during late September 2025. The staff, the facilities, the views, ambience and the food were all amazing. I wouldn’t hesitate to rebook this hotel and I have recommended it to all of my friends.
On the first morning I opted for the complimentary yoga in the spa area which was incredible, the teacher was very knowledgable and I felt relaxed and energised following it.
Lana who cleaned my room did a wonderful job, left me cute notes and complementary snacks most days. She was great, even when I was in her way because I returned to my room mid clean!
The ladies doing the breakfast service were amazing too, I cannot remember their names but they were so kind and welcoming. Food was very very good
Recommendations: a complimentary fresh 1L bottle of water should be provided for each room every day. I found it quite frustrating that there wasn’t free drinkable water available in the room when I arrived unless I bought some (I was parched after travelling the entire day). There was some overly priced water in the mini bar that you could purchase but most luxury hotels I stay in give you free water every day so I thought this was unusual. If a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine could be provided, a free bottle of water should be too.
Pools were freezing cold, even after a hot day. Recommend to heat them

The beds were a bit hard and uncomfortable. The shower drain was very slow and you had to walk through your own self to get out . I asked to have it resolved and nothing ever happened. You shouldn't have to ask twice in the bag to have something fixed. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was quite Pleasant

I'm travelling a lot for work and experience many what many would call exclusive hotels. As someone that wanted a nice environnement with privacy this was perfect .

The service was absolutely incredible here! From the moment we arrived, upon check-in we were offered cool and refreshing water with lemon slices. We were then given a tour of the compound and taken to our private suite where complimentary champagne and greek treats were waiting. The pool and view were stunning, the food in the restaurant is some of the best quality we had in Crete - *tip get the tzatziki and ask for the chef's sweet treat of the day - the room was cleaned every day to an impeccable standard - and my standards are sky high as I'm slightly OCD. The cleanliness and reaponsiveness of the staff is some of the best I've ever encountered. The breakfast was bountiful and as well as your usual continental style breakfast you can order hot food options at the bar. The pool for the private suite is shockingly cool in the day time which is lovely if you've been out in the sun all day but it warms up upon sunset. Parking is fantastic, we rented a car and never failed to find a spot no matter what time we returned to the hotel after spending time out. Happy Cretan Suites was truly a 10/10 experience and we would definitely return! Thank you so much to all the stuff who made our stay so fantastic.

I’ve been to Greece many times before, but this hotel made this trip my favorite. Hotel is set in a beautiful surrounding overlooking the ocean, the two pool areas were amazing, with plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. Room was spacious, clean, and well appointed. Food, especially breakfast buffet, was delicious plentiful. All staff were kind and attentive the moment I walked in the door. The manager Dimitris even came to my room to deliver a very thoughtful parting gift the night before my departure. Would not hesitate to stay here again, 100% recommend, no complaints.

About 30 minutes away from Heraklion, so I would recommend renting a car. You can arrange a taxi, but it’s better to have your own transportation on the island.
Food was a bit hit or miss. Breakfast had a large spread- I didn’t know until after the fact but you can request an omelette or fresh eggs.

This is a very nice property with super nice people! They had multiple pools, bars, and restaurants to choose from. Saying that, the food was meh. It had plenty of options and items to choose from, but in our opinion wasn’t real good. We decided to take the 8EU cab ride into town and eat there every night. We had one of the suites and it was excellent. Very spacious room and bathroom/shower area. Not to mention the hot tub right outside your room was incredible. The only issue we had was with Laundry service. We received our clothes later than the time we were told and when we got them back they were still wet due to them having dryer issues. We had a really enjoyable stay at the Happy Cretan Resort. The sea view from our room was gorgeous, and it was one of the highlights of the trip. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, and the amenities were everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
We spent a lot of time at the pool, which was peaceful and had amazing views. The restaurant served very good food, and we appreciated the variety and quality. What stood out most was the friendly and helpful staff—everyone was welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel at home.

Lovely setting overlooking the sea our room was spotlessly clean and really comfortable. Everything we needed was provided and a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine was waiting for us. Our room had its own private outside seating area and jacuzzi which was lovely - although the communal pools and other facilities were also excellent. The included breakfast was superb and the service was exceptional, as was the dinner and traditional entertainment in the evening. All in all an excellent stay!

The entire staff went above and beyond in every aspect. Once they heard we were checking out early, b4 breakfast, they made 2 \"to go\" breakfasts that we could eat on the ferry. I cant say enough about the staff and property. Our only mistake was not renting a car, but we were there to relax

Great Hotel outside of Heraklion
This was a terrific hotel about 25 kilometers out of Heraklion. It was fine for us because we had a car and the driving easy. The hotel was walking distance down the hill Agia Pelagia which is a cute little beach town. We ate at the hotel restaurant one night and were pleasantly surprised at the overall quality of the dishes we had- way better than a hotel restaurant usually is.
The staff was great and the breakfast buffet was very good. If you are planning a trip to Knossos and the Archeological Museum this is a good option. It was nice to get back to the quiet of an out of town hotel.
The only downside is they are trying to hard to be kitschy which is totally unnecessary for such a quality property. We loved it all in all

Small resort on the hill overlooking the sea. New pool is sweet. We had a hot tub room, which was perfect. We overheard others with saying the private pools were too cold to hang out in. Breakfast was delicious. Walking to the beach town nearby was fun. Roads are very narrow and dark at night. It’s easy to get a cab back to the hotel.

This is by far the nicest hotel and location we have ever stayed. Seriously. We arrived to our beautiful room and found a hand written note from management with chilled champagne and sweets. We were stunned by the sunsets over the water of the ocean and the amazing pools! The food was very good in the restaurant and the breakfast buffet was excellent. This is a destination location!

Very nice property, but only a few maintenance related items. The first night my tv did not work. A cable was changed but this should be check as part of room readiness. Also, my phone did not work and the AC condensate drips continually when it is on so the living room floor pools with water. I reported all 2@4 items for correction.

We had a great time at this hotel. Everything was great, including the service and comfortable rooms. Al the staff members are amazing and extremely accommodating. We wished the hotel had a spa and a faster wifi, but it was not a deal breaker.

This is an absolute must-stay property. It is gorgeous, the rooms are impeccably clean and modern with so many small touches. The staff is beyond compare and made us feel like family. The food is amazing and the free breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We loved every aspect of our stay and will stay here again if the opportunity allows. Splurge for the suites with the private pool if you can. You will not regret it, I promise.

The staff here (Demetrios especially) get an A for warmth and hospitality. The hotel itself is beautiful, with an amazing view of the hillside below and sea, off in the distance. We loved the private hot tub and delicious food, and sweet personal note greetings/farewell as well as a daily sweet treat in our room. The only thing that could have made it better was if there was a courtesy shuttle that brings you down to the beach/town--even if there was a small charge. Since the customers are generally from out of town, we would need an umbrella/chairs/blanket etc. I think most people would be willing to rent them for the day so that could help offset the shuttle. It's too far to walk and carry so much and climb back up the big hill at the end of the day and going into town with a private taxi gets pricey. Just an idea. Anyhow, we loved our stay there!

The only downside is that it is away from the main city but we were ok with that since we mostly wanted to have a relaxing couple of days before the next leg of our honeymoon! Highly recommend :)

I woke up to birds, sheep & beautiful sunrises over the sea of Crete. The majestic landscape, the friendliness/attentiveness of the staff, and the thoughtful layout of the entire resort beg you to sit, relax, swim, eat, drink, and savor every moment at this magical little place. I rented a car and explored as much as I could but I could easily have spent days watching the sunlight reveal shades of blue I’ve never seen before from a chaise near one of the many pools. What a gift the Happy Cretin shares!

Everything was just absolutely amazing with this hotel! Very clean rooms and they come in everyday to clean up leaving a little treat sometimes... every room has an outdoor patio that faces the ocean. The hotel is located a 5 minute drive from the village of Agia Pelagia and its beach and also a 20 minute drive from the airport in Heraklion. (Hour to an hour and a half from caves and other big cities). The staff is just beyond delightful and is willing to help you in any way! Amentities include a gym, pool and spa where they offer a hydro massage and full body massage. They offer breakfast each morning and everyday is different with variety. Their restaurant offers dinner by reservation and full adult beverage bar. Just an overall great place to stay! As someone who spent days searching for places to stay in Crete, I highly recommend this!

If you're looking for a tranquil, friendly and well appointed boutique resort where you can watch the sun rise and fall whilst admiring a truly beautiful vista and listening to the sheep and goats being herded across the valley, this is it. We truly loved it! The staff are also incredibly friendly, the salt water pool and main resort area is beautifully located and the restaurant's food is stunning. The rooms are also clean, bright and well appointed, and the resort itself feels intimate and very peaceful, with incredibly attentive staff who can't do enough to ensure your stay is memorable.
