Not a patch on the Muscat CP

A mixed bag. Set on an amazing beach, lovely new gym, nice upstairs bar. Reception area OK and room decent. Buffet restaurant was very not very good, wide choice but much of it very uninspiring. Pool area very tired and gold course fallen into disrepair. Seems to cater more for cheap package holidays from Eastern Europe mainly.

Quaint hotel on beautiful grounds

Check-in was not great. Seems their system's integration with Hotels.com is faulty, and so they did not see we had booked 2 King rooms with beach access (i.e. ground floor facing the ocean). In the end, we had to settle moving to a 1 king room and 1 twin room, since 2 Kings with beach access weren't available.
Beyond that though, our stay was pleasant. The hotel and rooms are quite dated (90s look) but the grounds and facilities are fantastic - 3 different pools, golf driving range, a dive center, children's playground, table tennis, two restaurants, a pub, and not to mention a deserted white sand beach on the Indian Ocean lined with an unlimited number of lounge chairs and barasti umbrellas. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Outside the hotel, it is surrounded by coconut, papaya and banana farms that creates a canopy and landscape that looks like Sri Lanka.

Cannot wait to go back!!!

I had an Amazing stay at Crownie plaza Salalah!!! Partially because of the gorgeous weather but mostly because of the staff at that hotel. It was my second visit( and I strongly believe there will be many more:) and, when I though it could not get any better, it actually did!! I got the Royal treatment with a beautiful room, comfy bed and even more comfortable pillows, tons of hugs, smiles, kind words from the hotel Team, delicious fruit and pastry platers, and fountains of water and Earl Grey tea ( right, Muhasin:)Everyone went above and beyond to accommodate my every single need. Special thanks to my fav staff members - Mae and Darshana from reception desk, very knowledgeable, accommodating, professional, kind and helpful; I also would like to mention Muhasin, with his happy and funny personality, who made sure I stayed hydrated :)) during my stay there, and the amazing chef who made sure the food was absolutely delicious every single day. Additionally, I’d like to thank all the restaurant as well as housekeeping staff, Elvira, Shasinle, Sabir, Rana in particular ( I am sorry i cannot recall all the names) who work extremely hard to please everyone.
I’m not sure if there’s another place with such impecable service like here in Crowne Plaza Salalah!❣️They all deserve five stars and a significant raise:))

It is truly my home away from home! And I cannot wait to visit Crowne Plaza Salalah next year. Thank you so very much, guys! You really made my stay very special ❤️

One of the worst hotel I have ever been. Very bad service, very dirty room, very dirty pillows and sheets, very dirty towels, very bad service .. this hotel was just a wasting of money and time ..

There was a lady in the front disk, she was very bad .. I told her that I fond a dirty towel in my bathroom and I show her the picture of the dirty pillow .. but she never apologized for any of these issues..

Also, they gave me different room than what I booked for ..

When I want to check out, I call them and asked for a trolley, but they did not send it ..

There is no parking when you come to the hotel at night…

Very bad food and very bad service and very bad staff .. there were only two nice guy at the front desk (one guy from Oman and one from Egypt)

I will never come back to this hotel and I will never recommend it for anyone ..
I was not happy with the very bad service and very bad staff ..

The hotel is very expensive, but it did not worth it at all ..

Great hotel and five star staff

The first thing to note is the staff was impeccable, from morning breakfast buffets to house keeping to evening sheesha/hookas by the beach- we were continually impressed throughout our 4 day stay. The location is perfect for a balance of beach, pool, and getting around. The hotel is well maintained and once again, the staff really has our resp!

Great beachside stay

This was our second stay at Crowne Plaza Salalah & once again we had a really relaxing stay with great food and excellent service. The hotel is well positioned for trips to the Frankincense museum & archaeological site & a short taxi ride into Salalah.
Our sea facing room was also facing one of the swimming pools & we were a little concerned upon arrival that it could be noisy- this proved to not be the case. Our room which was kept spotlessly clean, was large & well appointed with traditional furnishings, a very comfortable bed and quality bedding. The UK sockets were also appreciated for charging mobiles etc. The bathroom was adequate if a little dated. Public areas are lovely with well tended gardens (where we joined beginners yoga most afternoons) and ample sun beds both in the gardens and on the beach - the new beachside restaurant is a great location for inside/outside dining. We enjoyed every meal! from check in to check out we were made to feel like honoured guests and cannot praise the staff highly enough. A very special thank you to Hadi Fahed , for always taking the time to welcome us no matter how busy & for sharing recipe tips and introducing us to Anis tea. We left feeling like we were leaving new friends but knowing we will return

Beautiful salalah resort

I had an incredible stay at Crown Plaza from the initial emails arranging free transportation to the hotel. All staff were friendly and willing to go above and beyond with all the service that they provided. The breakfast was incredibly varied and such a wide selection of foods that you would not want to leave. The resort was impeccable and a shirt walk to the beautiful beach where you can walk for miles on white sand..... the rooms were first class and provided a rest if you did not want to enjoy the incredible scenery outside. I would highly recommend a stay here to relax and enjoy incredible scenery

relaxing break!

The hotel is old but got a grand entrance with massive chandeliers, high ceiling, big glass windows over looking the garden, pool and the sea. There are 2 pools and the main is a large size, heated and shared by local learners in the evening. It was monsoon so the beach was closed for swimmers due to very high, forceful waves, but you can walk on the quiet, misty beach with soft sand. The sea water was icy cold. The continental breakfast was of high standard with the usual variety as expected. The room was on the ground floor was large, comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom was slightly dated but very clean. all the staff ranging from cleaners, reception and the breakfast area were friendly and accommodating. For other meals there are no shops or restaurants nearby. Al Baleed archaeological site is half an hour walk away and well worth a visit. The only downside was the weather as it was dull and grey during our stay and we had a little drizzle around once a day.

Beautiful Setting - Beware of Advertised Sea View

We had a nice stay at the Crowne Plaza Salalah. The decor is a bit dated but the rooms were clean and comfortable and there are great health club and pool facilities. The breakfast buffet is delicious although, unfortunately, the dinner at Dolphin Beach Restaurant was bland and tasteless. The location is great - right on the beautiful and clean white sand beach. Don't pay more for a \"sea view\" - we could barely see the water as our view was blocked by a building and a construction project. There isn't a balcony either - just a dirty window. We received excellent customer service and the staff did their best to accommodate us after our complaints about the \"sea view\".

Ideal place for a break

Very nice and well maintained hotel, with ideal infrastructure for a short to medium term break. I definitively will recommend it to friends. The food in the two restaurants was good, but with room to improve the „a la card“ menu. Breakfast was very good. The location is a 15min drive from Salalah downtown, and I definitely recommend renting a car, to avoid falling into the trap of extortionist and dangerous taxis parked in front of the hotel.

We have only good things to say. The management and staff were very warm and helpful.we felt very welcome, and were treated like special guests, if not like family. Actually, we felt almost like family. The hotel has all you could ask for in a stay that lasted only a little more than two days. Oh, and the food was just great!

When a customer first arrives at an airport, what we expect is that someone comes out to receive us - either for car valet parking or to collect our luggage and welcome us to the hotel....especially when we arrive with families and kids.....but no one bothered to come out....we arrived in our rental car, and we had to go inside and tell the concierge guy to come and receive us....it was after that they came and took our car, and guided us inside....i saw similar receptions for other customers too.....otherwise the stay was good and kids playing facilities were good too....breakfast was good also, and they make fresh pancakes/waffles for you.....

No follow up from staff.
Bathroom Kit provided for 1 person while there are 2 persons in the room.
You pay extra for a sea view room but without a balcony and with a window that does not open and that is not clean to allow you see the sea.
We got itchiness and bites all over after we went to bed.
And most importantly we chose a non smoking room, but as soon as you enter the room you smell the smoking odour.

Disappointing Experience

In brief,

Yet the rooms are sea facing we felt locked
our initial reservation was with a taxi airport shuttle, but the modified was without it..but they sent the taxi claiming they did not have the modified request. and we had to pay the amount.
We were 2 in the room but the shower sets the slippers and everything provided was for one person only.
We had bites and itchiness when we went to bed.
This hotel was recommended by a friend who is a frequent client, and we were together on this trip.
Definitely it will be the last one.

Comfortable holiday Hotel with beach

The hotel was clean and comfortable with friendly staff. The beach and pool facilities were excellent. The evening Buffets are expensive and the BBQ requires better planning as the meat dishes constantly ran out and later arrivals of guests were left without any choice of dishes and no staff to explain that more would be cooked if requested. A party of local Omanis arrived and unfortunately all the staff attended to their needs only, leaving hotel guests without any service which was unacceptable in a holiday tourist hotel. This would appear to be a trait in Restaurants in Oman, Omani's are offered preferential treatment to that offered to tourists and expats.

Nice resort hotel, not so good for business stay

I was staying on business so didn't get a chance to avail myself of the leisure facilities, unfortunately. Food was excellent, buffet at the Dolphin Restaurant, breakfast also which was included. Would have preferred a cheaper/simpler food option as well, for example in the pub more of a meal than the snacks that are available. Location is a bit far out for working in town 20-30 minutes drive. Some external refurbishment going on so my sea view room was actually a scaffolding view, but they were quite happy to move me. Wireless reception was poor in the room. Wired internet OK for laptop but not for e.g. ipad/smartphone access.

The hotel is elegant with good facilities, attractive gardens and wonderful beach. Gym was good and rooms clean and spacious. Similar standard to other leading hotels in Salalah such as the Hilton.
It was unfortunately left down by poor food quality- unimaginative, almost entirely buffet style- although the breakfast buffet was very good.

Can't say enough nice things about this hotel....the location, the amenities, the genuinely kind and friendly staff, the well appointed rooms! It's all here. The location on the pristine Indian Ocean is not to be missed. Every detail is included from relaxing lounges under the shade of the umbrella as well as spot lights giving the night time view of the ocean something very special. Details make this hotel! We had 5 delicious buffet dinners on the beach looking out at the glistening waves. Every night was a different theme so although your eating in the same place, which is a gorgeous setting, you have an incredible variety of everything delicious. The chef Fadi clearly is a very talented chef and is happy to oblige with anything you wish. The staff couldn't have been nicer and genuinely friendly. They made us feel at home in everything we did in the hotel. The staff makes this hotel and you will be sad to leave as if you're leaving family. As we stayed here for 5 nights we had plenty of opportunities to interact with most of the staff members from the room cleaners, the spa, the restaurants, concierge, as well as managers. Everyone could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Our room was well appointed, the bed very comfortable, the views spectacular! Can't say enough nice things about this hotel and highly recommend you choose here for your trip to Salalah

Nice hotel with lots of amenities.

Only had a very short stay however, the room was nice. View of the beach was also appealing. Did observe the pool areas along with a small golf area. Access to the beach was immediate as the hotel is only about 100 yards away. Hallways were very quiet allowing for restful sleep.

Nice Hotel - Good Location, Facilities & Services

Excellent Hotel ! One of the best Crowne Plaza hotels that I have stayed. Location is perfect with just 15 minutes drive from airport and Salalah town. Hotel interior architecture is amazing and is well designed. The rear side view of the hotel is excellent with pools, garden and the sea.

The buffet dinner at the Dolphin Beach Restaurant is definitely worth a try. The ambience, food, lighting - everything is just perfect for a great dinner. The live counter is excellent. The swimming pools are also nice. The layout/ design is good and is attractive. There are 4 to 5 sections including a kids pool and a pool bar.

Comparing with the excellent facilities and services in the hotel, the buffet breakfast needs attention and require drastic improvement. But for that, everything is just right.

Overall, this is a great hotel.

Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah -Beware the tour guide

Hotel was nice and the staff were extremely friendly and professional. Only negative was the experience with the hotels tour guide. I would not recommend taking this trip at all. We were promised an array of activities by an experienced tour guide, for which we paid $160 USD for a half day tour. There was some confusion with the hotel whereby we assumed these were hotel sponsored guides, but it turns out they are third party vendors with no affiliation with the hotel. The guide that turned up spoke hardly any english, gave no guidance on the tour and did not visit 25% of the destinations promised before hand. We complained to the hotel afterwards who were very supportive and managed to agree with the tour operater for a partial refund which we were happy with.Only catch was that the tour guide then refused to come back to the hotel to deliver the promised funds and would not answer the hotels telephone calls.

I must note that at all times the hotel staff were very professional and courteous.

Solid hotel, nothing extraordinary

This is a good hotel in Salalah and I'd recommend it. Decent amenities for adults and kids. Clean rooms and good food. It's a good base with solid amenities for exploring this region of Oman. I would not pick this hotel as a destination in and of itself.

Of all the good hotels it's the most centrally located. The Hilton is pretty far out of town and looks onto an industrial area and the Marriott is very far. This is your best option for a mid-level (or greater) hotel in Salalah.
