The property is dated but the places are quite large with big decks.
We had a termite issue in our kitchen that couldn’t be resolved while we were in it. They offered to move us but we decided to just deal with the cleaning the counters and stove top rather than move to a less desirable unit.
One pool, the nicest one, was not open for several days during our stay.
The property was reasonably priced.

Very old property and although they look like they’re about to remodel it, it doesn’t have the same amenities as neighboring Properties. The hot tub was down for our visit with no options to use sisters resort. Probably would never stay here again. The staff was nice.

Great location for the quiet rest I sought. Staff were helpful, and I enjoyed several classes with Hawaiian cultural activities. It was sad not to have the main pool and especially the hot tub available, but I knew it was under maintenance when I reserved my room. Very nice bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and separate shower. The property was quiet snd I walked to many nearby places, and took the bus to others.

Room was great and spacious with nice conveniences like washer/dryer, wet bar, full kitchen, and huge lanai.

Had several issues with the property though as WiFi was not working for majority of our stay. Also the main pool and only hot tub were closed for construction. Major disappointment as the hot tub is one of our favorite parts of this resort. We didn’t have any notice that it wouldn’t be operational during our stay.

Be aware that if you are checking in late due to late flight arrival there is no staff until the next morning. You will need to pick up your key at another resort nearby.
Room was ok nothing special. There is NO sound barrier between rooms, especially with adjoining suites. Could hear everything from the people next door and the footsteps of those upstairs.
Fridge made a weird loud noise when it ran.
Seems out of date and in need of a renovation.
Pool was out of commission due to work on it.
Ok place if you just want to be there to sleep.

Renovation required as the property condition is not good especially the beds and furnitures. Utensils required to be changed. The floors must be cleaned properly. Swimming pool hot tub does not work.

* great location
* large rooms with lots of space to accommodate our large group

* accommodated our request for a late checkout

Cons:
* outdated rooms
* cleanliness was not up to standard (cobwebs on ceilings)
* we had a problem with ants in the kitchen and bathroom, which unfortunately got into our food the same day we arrived. We had to toss out several items or keep all food in the refrigerator and off of countertops.
* no A/C. There were lots of windows and screen doors for airflow, but even with them open, it was just too warm inside. Much too uncomfortable even to sleep at night.
* because you had to leave the doors and windows open for airflow, you could hear the roosters ALL night long, making it hard to get a good night’s sleep.

While the space was great for our family and the location also great, we would not return to this facility. The no AC, the ants, and the noise made our stay not as enjoyable as we had hoped. When staying in this area again, we will choose a different location.

I was really disappointed with the room that I got. When I booked the reservation it was for a one bedroom with a full kitchen (that I really needed for the time staying there) and it had a balcony with a living room space. But when I checked in I got an economy room which did not do any justice for me. With the amount I got charged for it was not worth it. Now I go back on the booking to see the difference in price it’s about $600 difference for a one bedroom.

No dining in the property.
Without car impossible to get around.
Lily pond full of frogs, making terrible noise all night, my room was next to the pond.
Keep getting annoying phone calls from Wyndham after my stay.

It’s a beautiful campus, but there is no parking. And I love the fresh breeze with the windows, but that means you can hear every noise from every unit. There are no windows, just plastic blinds. Wonderful Rainfall will wake you up bc of hitting the leaves.
And WiFi is only 4.87 Mbps.

Good location in the North of Kauai with a lot of activities possible. But it’s difficult to find a parking if you are coming back after 8pm (and it’s not possible to park outside of the property). And the studio we had was really noisy: you really think you are leaving with people next door. They made the strange choice to put an open door between the room and the bathroom, really not convenient when you are going to the toilet…

For most people Hawaii is a Dream Trip. It is with that description; one wants the accommodation to be clean, affordable and exemplary.
We were placed on the Southeast Corner of the property next to the busy road. The amount of traffic and noise at this unit was next level. (Cars, Motorbikes etc..) Upon bringing this to the hotels attention, we were told, the only unit we could move to was near the present room, but that it did not have Air Conditioning. (didn't bother moving) After unpacking all of our items including food, we found an infestation of Ants in the common food prep area. The redress to this was to send out a crew and spray the ants in the area which our food was prepared. Our kids found the pool to be cold, despite being active and moving throughout the time in it. While it is Hawaii, an amiable temperature is still needed for enjoyment. While a request for compensation was made to the manager, I only received a call back from the front desk saying they had sprayed for Ants. I checked my Visa bill when I got home and saw a credit of $300, but unfortunately it was only the \"hold back\" to book the room which fell off. At 300 USD a night, I can say I won't be back or talk highly of the place. Disappointed

Stayed on the ground level in a 2 bedroom with full kitchenette, and washer/dryer. Unit was spacious, and there was also a large lanai area.
This property is more of a condo type instead of a hotel.
My cons are that there is no AC - Floor fans are available but was only given 1 instead 2 due to limited supply; The floors are not sound proof. We could hear every foot step and movements from the people above us. Not ideal for people who have infants which was the case for us; The pool had outdoor rubbish and bugs - does not appear to be cleaned daily.
Other than that, it was a nice and relaxing stay, and convenient to the shopping areas.

Noisy. The windows are slatted and don’t close completely, so you can hear the roosters very clearly, which started crowing just after midnight every night and didn’t stop. After the first night, we checked out as soon as our cancellation policy would let us. Since we had to stay a few nights, we wore earplugs and played brown noise through our portable speaker, which helped a little, but still woke a few times a night. Other than that, it was nice. The economy room was small, but our room had a hot plate, utensils, cookware, dishes, coffee maker, and mini fridge. The bathroom was big and really nice. The pool was nice. The hot tub was deep but tiny. You could probably fit 6 people comfortably, but while we were there, only a few other people were in it, so it was roomy enough.

A little slice of heaven on the north shore

We booked a one bedroom condo at one Wyndham resort in Princeville. Upon check in, our family was placed in a two bedroom unit in the Shearwater section. The unit was beautiful, spacious and clean, with a large Lanai with a lovely view. The resort also offers classes and other opportunities for guests, which we did not depart in because our days were already booked. I would 100% stay here again.

When I arrived it was after 11pm, there was no people at registration desk. The security guard drives around to check people in.
But he was grumpy. He gave me the keys and told me to find my room. This property has independent buildings all over the place and in the dark, in the rain, I had to find my own room. I thought that was not cool. The security guard should at least lead me to my room.

The property is dated and most of the windows and sliding glass doors need replacement. There was an initial smell of dampness when we entered the suite, however it either dissipated or we got use to the smell. We had to have the bathroom sprayed for insects/termites as the following morning there were small ant like bodies on a wash cloth left on the edge of the tub and it resembled pepper flakes. The staff however was excellent and they were able to assist us with ant unsatisfactory roadblocks we were up against.

Honestly, this is a terrible booking and I advise anyone reading this to steer clear:

- Booked this place by accident, called 5 seconds later to cancel the booking, and was denied doing so, despite purchasing the travel insurance (\"Cancel for any reason\")
- The front desk couldn't check us in for three hours from the time we arrived--well into the evening. They need to work on getting rooms cleaned more efficiently
- Ants were in our room the moment we arrived, and despite numerous efforts from housekeeping to abate, there was no improvement the entire 3-day stay
- The rooms have no A/C--it's freaking Hawaii!
- Microwaves couldn't even properly heat a bag of popcorn

The property has a lot of small bugs. The front desk said it’s termite and they can’t do anything about it. The small ants like bug is every where. We even found them in the bed.

All the appliances are really old. The dish washer and wash dryer are rusted inside.

NOooo A.C. This means, if you have heart or respiratory problems, not the place you want to stay. And please believe me when I tell you, do not bring your children to this hotel if they have asthma, it’s an oven! Although opening the windows and leaving them open throughout the day does help, it’s still a nightmare at night trying to catch sleep. Sweating non stop, and then the shower gets way too hot and no way to adjusted, so be ready to take a cold shower in the beginning and hot in about 2min. The staff was amazing and helpful. Rooms on the other hand, they need a lot of renovation, beds need to be switched as you dip in the middle. Little red ants everywhere, so do not leave any food open. Rather than that, it’s in a convenient place. You can walk down to stores and or the beach.

These units are older, early 80s, and despite showing their age, have been kept up fairly well. The nice things about these circular units are the generous wraparound decks and multiple sliders -- even in a one bedroom. Never had to run the A/C; between the ceiling fans and the ventilation, the place stayed comfortable during the evening. The square footage is enough so you never feel like you're tripping over luggage (or each other).

Pro tip: ask for the top floor unit-- they have the same layout as below, but sport gorgeous 16 foot vaulted ceilings with exposed beams.

Pros:
- generous space, enough for 2-3 people to be comfortable
- wraparound decks with multiple sliders and patio furniture for morning coffee or evening dining
- well-appointed kitchen with basic appliances including a blender and toaster
- close to Princeville's small village shopping center
- good to use as a base for exploring Kauai
- chickens running around everywhere

The location is awesome but everything close between 5-6pm daily, so a trip to the grocery store is what you’ll need to do. Nice pools, the clubhouse offers so actives, the staff is ultra friendly. There’s not much to say negative about this place. Oh, there’s a washer and dryer in the units, comes in handy dealing with kids. Over an great experience.

Don’t stay here

They call this a resort and it’s like apartments with a pool. That’s it. There was no ac and it was so muggy and humid and between that and the hard bed and then the chickens waking you up at 5:00 am it was not the best. Then to make all that worse they don’t clean your room at all and if you take your towels to exchange them or ask for shampoo etc, they act like you’ve put them out and are being ridiculous . Will never stay there again

Having an affordable condo overlooking the ocean was precious. We went grocery shopping and had our breakfast and coffee on our porch. Perfection. 30A was our unit. Perfectly situated and nicely maintained.

Place is getting a little old but overall still fine. A great size for groups and families. Good value for price . Would definitely stay again. Staff and service were fantastic.

DESTINY

We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit for 2 nights. The property was decent, clean and affordable. However, we were slighly disappointed with the nearby pool being closed due to maintenance issues and our room being right next to the main highway. Other than that, the unit was spacious and comfy. Would probably try out another property if we ever return to visit.

The room that we did receive upon check in was in a high traffic area with a balcony that faced the maintenance parking lot. So no real privacy. Our room did connect to another suite that was separated by a thin door with a noise blocker fabric at bottom of door. Conversation was heard quite clearly through the door.
