Staff was great at check in - friendly and personable. Room was ready earlier at 3pm so we were able to rest. Great location, close to tennis & golf club house. We walked in the evenings after dinner. The wind flow was great in the unit - we opened all windows, even at night. The only no so good thing is there's no door to the toilet in one of the bathrooms. It was a wide open bedroom, with sink, shower & toilet that has no door for privacy. The shower is also open which splashed water onto the floor, in front of sink. Need a door to toilet for privacy - even though we were husband & wife sharing room, I would still like to have a door. That was the only drawback of the unit.

We traveled to Hawaii during one of the severe weather events in March, with flood and gale warnings affecting Oahu, Maui, and other islands. This was far beyond the typical Hawaiian rain, with dangerous conditions and widespread flooding.

We had booked 4 nights at Makai Club Resort but decided to cut our trip short and leave after 2 nights due to the weather. While in Hawaii, both Expedia and the resort agreed over the phone to refund the unused 2 nights. However, after returning home and following up for nearly a month, the refund was denied.

Hawaii is an expensive destination, and this situation caused us to lose a significant amount of money during an already stressful trip.

To me, real customer service is not measured by how things go when everything is perfect, but by how companies support their customers when circumstances go wrong. I’m very disappointed with how both Expedia and Makai Club Resort handled this situation.

We had accommodation, below group level, which has so much moisture in bed room. Literally, it sticks to feet and we can feel.it as well.
Worse part, I woke up mid to use bathroom, there is big cockroch scrolling on floor.
During day time we find few small as well.
We had very uncomfortable accommodations due to so much moisture and cockroch.

Lovely stay in a very spacious 2 bed 2 bath. They let us take beach chairs and umbrellas for our whole day. The only thing to note is that the feral roosters crow early in the morning and you can really hear it because the windows sort of perma-open because of lack of air conditioning.

The room was very clean, my husband and I also really appreciated the thoughtful amenities provided such as the cooler and beach towels already in your room to use. As well as the umbrellas and beach chairs you could rent for free from the front desk as well as board games and dvds. I would absolutely stay here again. There are also no resort fees you are stuck with at the end to pay. The resort is located right in Princeville and about 8 minutes from Hanalei Bay.

I loved everything about the Makai Club Resort!! The layout, the completely stocked kitchen, the comfortable bed… The pool area was great… it made it hard to want to leave the resort, but as tourists it was a great place to return to at the end of the day and make our own dinner & go sit in the sauna. I recommend staying there most definitely!

We had a wonderful stay at Makai Club Resort and would highly recommend it. The place was very clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. There was plenty of space for everyone, and everything we needed for a relaxed stay was thoughtfully provided.

We especially appreciated the attention to detail — from beach equipment to small touches that made the stay feel easy and stress-free. It really felt like a home away from home.

The only small downside — the local Hawaiian roosters 😄 They start their “alarm clock” around 5 a.m., so don’t expect to sleep in too late. But honestly, it feels more like part of the island charm than a real issue.

The location was also great, peaceful yet convenient for getting around and exploring the area.

Overall, a fantastic experience. We would definitely stay here again!

The parking was simple and the air conditioning was very cool always. I prefer to have it warm though because AC makes me too cold.

The room was very clean and the accommodation from the front desk was pleasing. I enjoyed the energy from every staff member I ran into. The whole experience was a blessing and we will be back as soon as we can. My mom got the opportunity to embrace the true aloha of Kauai. Thank you so much!!

Overall experience was great. The only minor issue was the roosters. Because the rooms did not have fully closed windows (they use the shudder style), we were constantly awaken by the roosters arguing with each other back and forth. Not the resorts fault but be sure to bring ear plugs.

The desk staff were very helpful with the check in process. I loved that I could borrow free beach equipment. The washer/dryer with complimentary detergent in the rooms was convenient. Even though the weather was very pleasant and not too hot outside, it was nice to have the air conditioning because I like it a little extra cool when I sleep.

The property was great! We really wnjoyed how spacious the rooms were. The front desk has trais to borrow for the beach and coolers in the rooms! I would opt for a roomaway from the pool if possible. Quiet hours are 10pm and folks get pretty loud in the evenings at the pool.

condo was HUGE! everything was great. it is a little \"older\" but we were not expecting new for the price. it was clean, and kitchen had everything we needed and more! washer and dryer were a huge plus. TV was easy to use. we would definitely come back, if we make it back to Kauai. we also appreciated the beach chairs, umbrella and cooler available free of charge for use on our daily excursions.

Good location to explore hanalei, ha’ena park, beaches. Condo was spacious with full kitchen. Lanai is enjoyable. Great value for the money but beware if you have a ground level unit, you will hear all the footsteps above and that gets old really quick, in particular when you are there to relax.

The property was well kept, except there was an odor of stale smoke in the condo for the duration of our stay. Also the property was quite a bit removed from any store or restaurant (we needed to use a car to get to and from Princeville, the nearest town). The staff was great and the location meant that the only noises were the crows of the roosters and calls of the birdlife.

The grounds and location are heaven! It’s like you are living in the jungle with mountain view’s. Units are nice and spacious. The staff is great! Our only negative is the roosters all night noise. but that is all of Kauai. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Amazing value for the price!

The ceiling had no sound deadening material to speak of. I listened to the upstairs tenants footsteps for three nights. Nice condo otherwise. But I wouldn’t recommend that particular condo. There upstairs units are a good choice. Or charge a lot less.

Beautiful cottage, great furniture, amenities, spacious and quiet. Everything was great except the fact that the rooms don't have air-conditioning.
Note - please who are used to airconditioned rooms will find it extremely difficult to stay in the room during the day time. It got much better with standing fans and the 80 yr old ceiling fan in the night, but the room temperature runs around 83F during the day time. It was boiling. The swimming pool is kid sized, the front office lady during check-in was rude, but it didn't bother me, minimum interaction. This club is surrounded with stunning views. Everything's 10/10 except the air-conditioning part. I'm not sure why they wouldn't have atleast room ACs.

We stayed at Makai club cottages for five nights and liked our stay very much. The condos have a living room with kitchen, washing machine, dryer and a spacious bedroom. Also very friendly and helpful stuff. The only negative I would point out is that you can hear everything from the neighbors, as the walls are paper thin.

A bit dated but that's not what we were there for- everyone working there was very welcoming and kind. It's nothing fancy, but had everything we wanted, including a stash of dvds for loan, coffee every morning, water refill, games, pool/hut tub, bikes, and snorkel sets. Being able to easily snag umbrellas and chairs for the beach was sooooo nice. Really loved it.
