From the concierges, to the valets, to the poolside wait staff, to the housekeeping, the hospitality was wonderful! We made the mistake of doing Uber instead of a rental car. Not the smartest idea considering it is really easy to get an Uber from the airport to Princeville, but very hard to get an Uber while at the hotel. The valet manager and staff were very helpful in arranging other transportation for us, and even drove us to and from the hotel to the the Princeville Market so we could try some other restaurants in addition to the ones at the hotel. Perfect access to the beach and fun trails to walk/hike.

Probably the nicest view I have ever experienced at a resort. The entire property is stunning.
The food was excellent , especially so at Welina Terrace. They could use a little work on the service, no major complaints, but a few hiccups. The staff is very friendly and makes every effort for there guest's. The rooms are nice, but are quite small. For me, the beds were too soft.

The views are so stunning at this property , that any minor deficiencies are immediately forgotten.

We stayed at One Hotel in Hawaii for the first time and overall, our vacation was great and the hotel itself was excellent. However, we were a bit disappointed with the staff. My husband’s birthday was coming up and I mentioned it several times in advance, but they made a lot of mistakes. They brought the cake on the wrong day, and when the actual day arrived, I had to remind them. They also congratulated me instead of my husband. At checkout we were also charged $70 for items from the minibar that we never used, which was quite unpleasant to see from a hotel of this level.
I contacted the hotel about these issues afterward but unfortunately did not receive a clear response. Please be attentive and double-check your final bill.

Amazing staff and resort design, and flexibility on early check-in was appreciated - but basic things were not taken seriously. Upon arrival, they did not offer the room upgrade for free for expedia vip, but tried to sell a suite with much cost. During the stay, the room had a hair dryer that had no warm blow. It was broken, and I asked for a new hair dryer, and they sent a dress steamer. The housekeeper who brought the dress steamer argued that it IS a hair dryer, pointing out the CONAIR is for hair dryers and it has BRUSHES. It was truly absurd and offensive as in how they tried to persuade me to accept a dress steamer for a hair dryer. They finally brought the right one it the next day when I requested again because they forgot. The samsung TV in the room and the whole section of that corner space had no wifi connection, turns out it was due to a poor wifi router positioning. It is stuck behind an air conditioning unit and the metalic structure blocks the signal - what the maintenance guy said. The maintenance guy was really helpful and solved the problem. But all of these problems had to be communicated through the hotel app or text message which depend on the internet or wifi connection. In the room there was a landline phone with no connection or functional buttons for anything useful. Why not make a reliable phone for housekeeping, communication with the front and between rooms like any other resorts and hotels? A pretentious hotel with no excuse to be so expensive.

The view of Hanalei Bay from the oceanfront room was one of the best resort views I’ve seen. Our dining experience was mixed with good vibes to the Sandbox by the pool. Beautiful grounds, pools, and views, and good service. However, food was mediocre and extremely overpriced at every dining option. Also, room design, though aesthetically attractive, was very impractical with no privacy (one sink in area in full view, open shower, sliding glass door to toilet), low lighting, and few surfaces to put things on.

I’d question the brand overall - fussy, expensive health food with very little flavor and all sorts of seemingly arcane health and wellness spa services (who’s getting their body fat measured on vacation?). Yes there were a few healthy looking people staying there but most were just ordinary seniors with money. Somehow I doubt they were getting in the sensory deprivation tank.

Go for a few days to enjoy the pool and views - we did - but dine elsewhere if you can!

Fantastic hotel: location, amenities, service, food, room qualities, views...Pricey, with all the usual ancillary charges (the famous \"resort fee\"), but overall well worth it given the (mid-tier) quality of other north shore hotels. The design of the property alone, with its vistas of Hanalei Bay around every corner, plus the beautifully appointed rooms and great staff, makes it all worthwhile.

Our only minor quibble is the service can be slow at times, especially at their main restaurant and bar, and with their bell (luggage) services. This might have been that they were understaffed given the slightly off-season time we were there, but at these luxury price points slow service, for whatever reason, should not be tolerated. To pay north of $1K per night I expect my food to arrive within a reasonable amount of time (say, within 20m). After all, while the food is very good it is not Michelin-starred (so why the long wait times...?)

In the grand scheme of our stay this was minor and we would definitely return.

The hotel was absolutely stunning inside and out. The views were incredible and the staff was amazing! Every detail felt thoughtfully considered, making it an excellent place to stay.

The only feedback I have is regarding dining. It would be nice to have more casual options onsite, especially during the week, without always needing a reservation at the two dinner restaurant options. Another suggestion would be to include certain water activities, like paddle boards, in the stay. For the price point, I was surprised these weren’t offered, especially since I’ve stayed at less luxurious hotels that included them as part of the experience.

Aside from that, I have nothing negative to say. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be coming back (budget permitting 😉).

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for about a week and while we were impressed by the spa/gym, our room, and hotel appearance, lots of basic aspects were lacking from our “5 star” experience. For reference, my wife has worked in the hospitality industry for years and we are writing this out of an opportunity for improvement and honesty, not to chastise the hotel. To start, we were offered valet parking under the presence of it being “complimentary” when in reality it was a daily charge we knew nothing about until our itemized check-out receipt. It was on us to ask, but when it’s branded as “complimentary” we felt confident assuming it was included in our cost. Second, while the hotel offers beautiful interior design that integrates the in and outdoors, we saw a large cockroach crawling the banister from the gym back to the elevators. We felt that was a bit too much to accept for a hotel of this caliber. Third, the service was okay, smiles were given in the hall and when a question was asked they answered in a polite tone, but again for a hotel looking to be “luxury” a certain amount of going-the-extra-mile and anticipation of needs is expected. Finally and the area with the most amount of opportunity was the food. There was a lack of options except for the breakfast brunch, and there was not a meal that we had at the hotel that outshined the meals we’d gotten from food trucks all around the island. When we ordered room service, it arrived with a smile but it was cold.

We stayed at this property, a number of times over the years in a numberof iterations of the hotel, and came there to celebrate our 10th anniversary and commemorate where I proposed to my wife. Unfortunately, this was the worst version of the hotel in terms of service. Most of staff new and had no idea of what one should receive at top dollar resort. it seemed like all they wanted was as much money as they could extract from us and the words gracious or attentive seldom came to mind during our stay. Still it's simply a beautiful location and a very nice hotel, but not a good value at all! Had we not had an attachment there we never would have stayed there. We had a room that was described as having pool access yet they gave us a room without pool access. There is glaringly loud music that starts early morning until 10pm every night and we had kids in the hot tub outside our room till after 11pm. We also had roaches in our room. Quite disappointing on a few levels at the rate we paid. You can also hear everything above you and the room above us was quite disturbing. All said, beautiful property and amazing location.

Wasn't very nice for a 5-star resort. After charging the highest room rate on the island I expected more, but they kept nickel and diming you for more money the whole time. I have stayed in way nicer 3-star resorts. The only things that were 5 Star was the view, and the Gym. Everything else was average at best. Their fake effort to seem sustainable was sickening.
