The gym was pretty well equipment if not a little cramped where the workout machines had been placed. Very good for a Hotel gym TBH and never busy when I went (0630-0800)

There are times when five stars just aren’t enough. Staying at the Leela Palace was one of them. This hotel is truly outstanding. We have seldom been made to feel quite so special as we did at the Leela Palace - and that is truly incredible from a large hotel.
We have just completed a 12 week trip through Southern India and Sri Lanka and stayed in some wonderful hotels. My wife and i both consider the Leela not only the best on the trip, but one of the best we have ever stayed at. Staff were incredibly attentive and genuinely super friendly and every single one we met (and we engaged with a lot!) went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience. It seems almost unfair to give special mentions given how lovely everyone was, but we would particularly like to thank the following
Vishnu - the sommelier who introduced us to Grover Shiraz (Vijay Amritraj edition).
Chandra and Kumar who looked after us at the pool
Yasodha and Jeetu in the bar
Vigneshwar, Kunal and Shaghul (plus Jayesh the sous-chef) in the restaurants
Sonali and Shomali in Guest Relations.

A massive thank you to the entire team at Leela - we flew out of Chennai with a very warm and happy feeling because of you.

The staff went above and beyond and took care of our family. Leela's customer service is the reason that we prefer this hotel amongst all other 5-star hotels. I recently stayed at The Leela Palace Chennai, and while we faced several challenges during our stay, I would especially like to appreciate Duty Manager Arghya Sarkar.

We had issues with the room, AC, and food service, which left us quite disappointed initially. However, when we met Mr. Arghya Sarkar, everything changed in terms of how we felt as guests. He was extremely polite, patient, and genuinely attentive. He took the time to listen carefully to our concerns without interruption and handled the situation with professionalism and empathy.
In hospitality, problems can happen — but what truly matters is how they are handled. Mr. Sarkar’s calm demeanor, respectful communication, and sincere effort to make things right made a real difference to us. Because of people like him, we would still consider coming back to The Leela.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Leela Palace Chennai. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional. The staff were warm, professional, and always ready to assist with a smile.

The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully maintained, with stunning views and very comfortable bedding. The amenities were top-class, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel truly reflects luxury and elegance.

Rita and Riya were both excellent hostesses. They truly looked after all of my whims. They were both incredibly family and polite. Mr Ajit, the duty manager helped out when i has travelled away and left my passport at the hotel. He then orchestrated a safe retrieval of my passport. I must say i am astounded by the standards of this hotel. I would not hesitate to return here if i ever visited chennai again.

Penultimate luxury and decadence, you will want for nothing at the Leela palace, exceptional service from Rose the house keeping assistant to all the staff at reception and at spectre restaurant, the gym and spa staff were welcoming and helpful and Ajit is the best concierge a guest can ask for.

I was surprised and delighted in all the best ways. If you stay here you will not regret it! The facilities are second to none. the pool is stunning and the pool staff are exceptionally helpful, the gym is fully stocked and the spa is so relaxing. The food is varied and very tasty i enjoyed the biryani and kebab festival!

If you can, book this place it’s the best in chennai!

Room was beautiful and ocean view great. Housekeeping staff from all cleaners to chief butler Raj Singh were excellent keeping room well stocked with bottled water and room amenities. The only negative to the room was a slight mildew odor that attached to all my clothes that hung in the walk-in closet during my10 day stay. All needed laundered upon arrival at home even those that had been laundered at hotel for return home.

The Leela Palace in Chennai is an exceptional hotel. Beautiful setting, attentive staff, clean and fantastic food options. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with two young children - Raj from the Butler team was brilliant as well as the chefs Anjan, Bunuma and their teams. The only thing that would have made this even better would have been more things for young children to do eg a games room however they were very content with the beautiful pool

The Leela Palace Chennai is probably the best hotel I’ve ever been to. Not only are the facilities world class, but the effort they make to ensure their guests feel at home and special is second to none. Ajit the concierge ensured that everytime I was in the lobby, he’d personally greet me and ensure all was ok. All transport was arranged swiftly and if there was anything we needed assistance with, he was available in heart beat. Ratan, our private butler - was always there to support us and our young family’s needs and Jayesh the head chef made our experiences at the buffet all the more memorable.
Put simply, they just treat their guests with the utmost respect and kindness and make them feel completely at home. I’m going to miss the Leela but can’t wait to be back

We had an excellent stay at this hotel, thanks to the outstanding service from all the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome and genuine hospitality that made us feel at home.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with a lovely view of the ocean. However, the bathroom could use a little more attention to maintenance — for example, the shower and toilet doors could close more smoothly, and the blinds could be dusted more regularly.

The highlight of our stay was without doubt the restaurant. The food selection and quality were exceptional, and the service was attentive and personal.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely return.

1). I have booked Sea facing room, first they have allotted room in 1st floor, though the request was in higher floor stating property is full sold out, later there was no faucet in the wash room which is a basic hygiene.

2) there was no hand wash in the wash rooms

3) Then they have changed to 4th Floor after complaint

4) Breakfast venue was not fixed due to high occupancy, keeps on changing the venue

After coming from the Taj Mahal in Delhi, this was certainly a disappointment. They seem to cater to a lot of weddings that has become the priority over regular room guests.
I was placed on a floor that was sold out to a wedding group, the wedding group was playing loud music the whole night, intoxicated and smoking weed which was shocking.
My kids were sleeping and we were unable to sleep, the hotel wanted to us to move to another room which was we really didn’t want to do at 2am with the kids asleep but we have to give in since they party was not endings anytime soon..
I requested a call back from a manager the next day who reached out in the evening and promised to reach out via WhatsApp to provide a free dinner for the trouble.
That also never happened and truthfully we were ok not having to go back to that Leela. The kids were so excited to come here to get the 5 star experience and we all left disappointed.

My whole family loved it. The rooms were immaculate with the view of the sea. The breakfast, room service and restaurants were all exceptional. 1. The staff was extremely courteous, well-trained, and efficient. Aman Kumar, my designated service contact, was excellent, perceptive, anticipating my questions and needs, and quite responsive.
2. Spa experience was exceptional with Dukha the therapist. She is one of the best. Anand was quite good in helping through the experience.
3. Shrima was proactive and EFFECTIVE, in helping my relocation to a different room when the hot water stopped. I had not expected to take a cold shower at the Leela.
4. Ms. Sinha met me twice to make sure my stay remained pleasant and asked for candid fedd back.
5. Overall, WELL DONE! I will be back when i return to Chennai.

In many small ways the Leela is twice as nice as similar "five star" hotels in the area:
* Organic teas in the room.
* Granite bathtub.
* Amazing volume of hot shower water.
* Organic tea selection.
* Eight bottles of water instead of 2.
* Spacious rooms with Amazing views.
* Quiet inside and out.
* Complimentary apples and cookies in room.
* Easy check in and check out.
* No lines in lobby.
* Fantastic welcome drink.
* Evening musical performance on the water.
* Good art in the rooms.

They can improve their phone concierge comprehension. Speed is very slow: 15-60 minutes for almost any request, including a cup of tea in the restaurant. Buy the included breakfast and dinner on Expedia when available, since it is worth it and cheaper on Expedia.

Vanakkam, my husband and my father stayed here for three nights as part of our pilgrimage to Tamil Nadu. We loved the friendly service, we had a breakfast package and it was worth the extra money. Hotel is beautiful. We did not get to use all of the extra amenities but the pool, reception areas and dining options are very good. The only complaint is when our driver had to pick us up and drop us off, the wait time was more than 10 minutes. Also, for the couple of days we were there, we could not figure out a direct sea access...which was disappointing because the point of us booking this hotel was to do early morning walks and meditation on the beach. The room was spacious and the workers provided a roll bed for my dad.

Leela Chennai is a phenomenal property, I stayed there 7 nights in a row and I must say that I was super impressed with try upkeep of the hotel, which is a number 1 priority for me.
