It was a nice stay for us . The room was clean and the room service and restaurant (breakfast) staff were always super nice. The breakfast is also super good so definitely try it there. The food at their Magudi restaurant was also amazing. Will definitely plan to stay there again

The beds were really comfortable; the staff extremely polite and helpful. We needed extra towels which were delivered immediately. The deputy GM Vanitha introduced herself to arriving guests and made sure that the check in process was completed without any hitch, especially since we had two very jet lagged children with us.
The food was a bit too spicy for our taste, but the breakfast spread was just amazing.
The pool was clean and surrounding areas spotless; it was a pleasure to stay in Savera. Would definitely stay here again

Proximity to most places in Chennai. The hotel is from early 70s and it has gone through renovations a number of times. The rooms are still somewhat from the old times. Their complimentary breakfast is sumptuous and saves time to start the day early.

Cleanliness is the main thing. The floor of the room was dirty, making my feet turn blackish like soot. The need to clean a room before a guest enters is very important. Breakfast was excellent. The toilet needs improvement as there was leakage of water from taps, wetting the toilet, mirrors old. Savera needs to buck up.

Room looked very ancient, run down and depleted. The bathroom still has very old fittings and for the rent they charge it was less value for money.

The staff were excellent though, right from check-in, the room service, Laundry and the bell desk were all very helpful and very welcoming.

We were a bit disappointed with the rooms and very few plug sockets near the bed especially when two people are staying. They can do much better than this.

Because of the holidays and seasonal events we stayed in Savera and this is our 2nd stay in December 2025.

I gave 3 stars because they gave us a room under a room under renovation. Constant drilling and banging, which made for a disturbed rest.
They shoul not allot rooms which are disturbed by renovation.

We are regulars at Savera. Extremely convenient location. Amazingly friendly staff always ready to step in and help. Everyone right from the reception, bell staff, floor staff, cleaning team, kitchen as well as room service staff are all fully committed to customer service.

We always get a feeling we have come back to our familiar place - safe and secure.

Would happily recommend Savera to anyone looking for a decent stay in Chennai at a great price (Fantastic value for money)

There was a peeping tom peering into guests hotel windows. No one stopped him as he went from room to room. He then climbed to the next floor and started ding the sane thing. I was so worried about my safety that I immediately left the hotel to find safer accommodations

We have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions as it is very central.
It is used primarily by business people which is an advantage as not typically touristy.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and the dining options are varied.
On this occasion, we did note that the bedroom’s although very clean are looking extremely tired.
Next time, may book a more “ upmarket “ room that has been refurbished.
The public areas however are clean and modern but not overly glitzy.
Would recommend this hotel if you are looking for something central, good local food and value for money.

My stay at Hotel Savera was quite comfortable. All the staff were efficient, friendly, courteous and very helpful.

My only disappointment was that the WiFi in my room was not getting connected all the time.

This is a very conveniently located hotel, especially for the season - when people wish to attend Music Academy concerts. The Hotel was comfortable and had a busy gym with swimming pool onsite. The food at breakfast was good.

Very poor internet connection in this hotel. I had to setup my phone as hotspot to get some connection in the room. If you are on business travel and need to use internet...avoid Savera.
The same hall music has been playing here for many years. Managers aware of the old aging internet and know that it has to be changed. No one is in charge to make it happen. Switching to ITC hotel close by.

Comfortable stay, expecting more improved quality

Standard rooms, haven't been upgraded over the years. Poor WiFi connectivity in the room, some amenities were missing and had to be requested. Staff were kind and accommodating. Location was great and breakfast spread was wonderful and good quality of food. Overall pricing was bit higher than the facilities and amenities provided, maybe a better quality is expected for that price.

The staff are friendly, attentive, competent and over all a pleasure. The pool is great as is the gym. Food is excellent especially if you like south India vegetarian choices. Rooms are large and adequately appointed. The hotel is old and shows it’s age although continuous remolding is underway. Most staf speak some English. The guests are primarily Indian from various places. For the price the property is an exceptional value.

The property is a gleaming white impressive spectacle. Very good service at the reception. Rooms are spacious and well furnished. Great buffet breakfast and service. Dinner at Malgudi is excellent but service is slow and somewhat aloof. Centrally located to go any where. Many restaurants in the vicinity.

Cons
Bed linens and towels are stained and have turned yellowish. Not a very pleasant site. All the restaurants and swimming pools cannot cover up for poor quality linen a towels. The person at the payment counter somewhat impatient,unsmiling and not very pleasant of behaviour. Could be more friendly to make the interaction pleasant.

Well known and Centrally located.

This hotel is centrally located, but it is an old property. Rooms, elevators electrical and electronic aspects need total upgrade. If you like South Indian food, their breakfast (comes with room) is sumptuous. Malgudi restaurant serves decent lunch and dinner in a clean environment.

The Breakfast buffet was good but it has been scaled back from my pre-Covid visits. My room was very comfortable and Praveen my room boy (Floor 9) went beyond the call of duty to always check with me if I needed extra towels, water, coffee etc.

I dont think I will go back there again. The rooms were stinking and bathroom was leaking. I ended up switching my family rooms and I got a smoking room when changed. I didn't have energy to fight them again.

My room on the 10th floor was in an area that was noisy. The features in the room were a bit run down. I let the front desk know that the television wasn’t working, but they didn’t send anyone to fix it. The WiFi was very slow as well. There were some pleasant aspects to the location, but I definitely felt it was quite overpriced.

Excellent Staff.Reception staff were extremely helpful,courteous and pleasant.Kanagam,host,would meet us at the lobby with pleasant greetings and inquire as to any specific help that was needed and fulfilled every request.
The security staff,the 2 girls in particular-Pathmanathan,Shanthini,would greet us warmly.
Reception Staff,particularly Abdul Cader and Ikram,went out of their way in dealing with our request efficiently and pleasantly.
The staff who cleaned our room did so efficiently.
Breakfast was good and catered to all palates.
What needs attention is that almost everyday,we found the card not functioning frequently and consequently needing recharging at the reception going down 8 floors.The system needs urgent attention.Provision of a telephone at the corridor at each level,would be helpful in contacting reception if we are locked out.

I had a comfortable and hassle free stay at Savera Hotel. The staff was polite and responsive to my requirements. I recommend it highly.

The only reason I am giving it the second highest rating and not the highest is that there was very little desk space to study and work. This is a problem at many hotels; very few hotels anticipate that their guests, especially those travelling for business purposes, might require adequate space to work. But other than that, my experience here was positive.

Your staff behave like it is still 1980s

I think the front staff in Chennai have not changed since 1980s. Just because they sit behind a desk they think they are important and customers and guests need to wait etc. please visit Bombay or Delhi or Kolkata to learn hospitality services.
I was planning n a rush to leave, the billing lady made me sit and then she casually was doing 12 different things. She didn’t even care I was waiting and I deserve some attention. Very callous. In front of me, she and another manager was reprimanding another staff... again nothing to do with me or my check out. So sad. When we were kids we were afraid of these staff people, and we used to be humble trying to please them. but times have changed. They have to please guests. Savera is a good hotel, they should train their staff to be were times.

A/C in room had a musty moldy smell. Would stop working at nights. Shower didn't drain well. Towels were not white and clean . were old and didnt feel clean. Unfriendly staff at reception.
