Great place to stay! We had a room facing the street yet it was very quiet save for the rare motorcycle roaring by. There was some noise from other rooms, though.

One thing that would be nice is if the J1773 charging device was fixed. However, the two Tesla Destination Chargers are functional.

Air conditioner did not work in the room, they had to change rooms for us, we were twoand they didn’t provide enough toiletries or towels for both of us, we had to go and get the towels from reception. The hotel needs a lot of work, is not that clean, and the rooms look worn down. The swimming pool he’s in deplorable conditions, even though that outside it was over 100°F this was a good choice for a hotel in a small town with very few choices but if this hotel was in a larger town these will not be my choice at all. The staff Was very polite and eager to help

The security guard there was excellent and helped me a lot as I was suffering from a back injury. I just drove all the way through Mexico by myself and just started staying at City express’. They are clean, secure and really well situated in all the cities I stayed in. Close to restaurant’s, shopping centers and there parking is good and safe. Staff was friendly and the breakfasts were a lot better than I was expecting.

I never made it to Minatitlan.
I had a motorcycle breakdown in Tampico and had to spend an extra night in Tampico and never arrived in Minatitlan.
Hotels.com never replied to any of my URGENT emails to assist me in any way.
I had to re-book another night in Minatitlan and lost my initial payment.
Then, due to Mexican road conditions and poor signage I never arrived to Minatitlan the following night either and lost another nights payment (2 nights paid and never used).
Hotels.com did not answer any of my emails to offer me assistance in either case.
Very disatisfying.

Good for the price. Very cheep toilet seats and towel bar. In fact, they changed our room when we arrived because the seat was broken. But staff was very attentive. Okay breakfast in good location. Good, secure parking.
Would recommend for a night as a stop-over when travelling, or for business.

Easy Access on main thoroughfare

This was just an overnight stay, so we did not require much. Town requires a GPS to navigate through. This establishment does not serve alcohol, but they did make an exception for us, and has some beer sent in a taxi (for very reasonable price)

Sheets in our room had not been changed since the previous occupants departed. We were however offered another room. Unfortunately the only room available was on the ground floor which was extremely noisy as was close to the restaurant / reception area.

Breakfast - awful.

Reception staff just about friendly.

We have been using this hotel since it opened and have observed that this year the standard has declined.

There is not much choice of accommodation in Minatitlan so we may have to keep going there. I hope the standard improves by next year.

When in Mexico, consider City Express FIRST!

This is the 3rd City Express on my trip. I discovered the City Express in Reynosa and all of them are quality buildings, with everything working, clean and comfortable with great staff! All of the employees are helpful and courteous. The creators of City Express have created a great place to stay at a very reasonable price. Wake up happy.... stay here.

A town with few viable alternatives

Minatitalan is at the end of a long day's drive in a town where there aren't a lot of hotel alternatives. City Express is in a modern building and offers small rooms with contemporary decor. The desk staff speaks English so checking in and out was simple and fast. We found the mattress firm but not too bad for an overnight stay. They even had rudimentary room service so we could order dinner in and then collapse into bed. The free breakfast consists of fresh fruits, yogurt, toast, cereal. The coffee is instant-like most hotels-so I'm not a fan. For the price, it is a good value.

If it is only for a night, our case, the hotel is ok. What bothered me was that the towels and bed sheets were thin, old, too worn. Bed and pillows not the most comfortable ones.

I did appreciate the fact they offer breakfast, small and simple, but it helps if you need to you on in your trip.

No more City Express for me

The two times I reserved a room for City Express through Hotels.com they did not have my reservation in their system. It took long delays and much frustrating insistence for them to solve the problem. Someone is not doing their job and I will be choosing a different hote.

Nos quedamos dos veces distintas, el personal fue amable, las instalaciones limpias, la primera vez el cuarto olía mucho a desinfectante, la segunda vez olía mejor. Las recámaras son básicas pero cómodas. Llevamos carro eléctrico y hay 2 cargadores Tesla y uno genérico que funcionan bien, el personal ayuda para organizarlos. El desayuno muy agradable. Una vez no funcionó la máquina de café en la tarde, pero la segunda vez si hubo café a todas horas. Volveremos .

En cuanto al Servicio y Personal le pongo una calificación de Terrible debido a que el día domingo 24 de Agosto durante el desayuno a las 7:30 a.m. una persona (hombre) del hotel nos estuvo hostigando a mi familia y a mi, se la paso todo el tiempo vigilándonos de manera directa e insistente lo cual es incomodo, y al momento de retirarnos me dijo que no podía retirarme hasta que acomodara las mezas y las sillas, cabe señalar que ya habíamos levantado los residuos, tazas y platos que se utilizaron, se me puso muy muy agresivo y la chica que estaba en recepción no le dijo nada pese a que se dio cuenta, no le hice caso y lo ignore para evitar una confrontación a golpes pues me dio la impresión que eso buscaba el empleado del hotel por la forma en que se paraba delante impidiéndome el paso, no regresare a ese hotel.
