The room’s shower head was blocked with crust, the toilet ran consistently, there was no hand soap until requested it and I also had to request a remote for the television because the one in the room did not work. There was also a strong odor in the hall that I can only attribute to the several gallons of paint being stored in the open hotel rooms across the hall. Additionally, the individual preparing breakfast had a long uncovered beard and a consistent productive cough. He was frequently blowing his nose without washing his hands afterward and wore no mask. I was u able to enjoy any breakfast after observing that. The gentleman at the desk did promptly address my issues with the hand soap and the remote. It was a very unpleasant stay. Not at all consistent with my prior experiences with other Hampton Inn properties.

The elevator didn’t work and we were put on the third floor. Hallways and lobby stunk. Our room was so humid that everything was sticky. It was like you were sleeping outside. The AC was running but obviously not doing its job. We couldn’t get the tv to work. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling.

Going down hill, smelly

Entire hotel had a bad smell to it and it’s not new. When I was checking in I was told the reservation from Hotels.com was rejected and had to pay in full a different amount. There are a/c units lying down an entire hallway, I assume for updates. Not sure why you would just leave them out in the hallway though. 1 of the elevators is not working. The other elevator made some odd noises and shook when it got to my floor. It actually made me nervous to use. My room key did not work so I had to go back down and use the elevator again. Got a new key and it finally worked. Room was fine and fairly clean. There was greasy handprints on the headboard. Every Hotel in Leesville is overpriced by at least $100 and needs repairs. They can only charge what they do because of the local Army base. I would recommend staying in Alexandria and avoid hotels in Leesville.

My recent experience at the Hampton Inn in Leesville/New Llano was not very pleasant. The bed was extremely uncomfortable—it felt like sleeping on bricks. Additionally, the room had a strong, unpleasant odor. I had to go to Walmart to purchase air freshener just to make the room bearable. Other than those issues, the stay was just okay for a 2-star hotel. It does seem to be the most suitable option in the area, but there’s definitely room for improvement in comfort and cleanliness.

Sustain: Beds and bedding were very comfortable. Breakfast was good and the front desk were helpful. Convenient to Leesville and Fort Johnson.

Improve: I had to change out my duvet cover as it was dirty when I arrived. The Streetlights are very bright...try to get a room out of the direct path of the lights if you need a dark room when you sleep. The curtains did not block all of the light coming in.

Checkin was slow and I had to get another key to get into room. The room was dated, had spackle on the walls but unpainted. Photos missing from wall with nails in wall. Bathroom wallpaper was peeling and several areas needed maintenance. Entire hotel and room had a funny smell. Temp control in our room would not adjust.

The lobby smelled bad. The room smelled horrible. The bed was hard with lumpy, worn-out pillows. The food that should have been hot was cold. When I said something about the smell, I was told they would let housekeeping know i was not happy.
We were in town for a funeral and i got little to no sleep.
I will never stay there again and i suggest no one else stay there either.
This room cost $185.00 for one night.

Check in seemed long. They needed all my info even though I used Hotels.com. I was given keys to a room that had not been cleaned at all. It looked like someone might have still be staying in it. I go back to the front desk and they switched my rooms. When I tried to use my room key this time it did not work. I was then informed that most of the rooms on the first floor, the key pads were not working. Had to be let into my room anytime

The hallway on the 4th floor felt like a sauna. Our key fob didn’t work the entire stay we had to be inconvenienced by asking front desk to let us in each time. The night clerk tried to accommodate by allowing a late check out but the morning receptionist told us he didn’t have the authority and that it would cost us for a late checkout.

Room had a moldy smell. The water was only warm would not not even steam up the mirror. Told the front desk but the girl didnt seem to care said she would tell maintenance. she did not even offer to move me to another room. the wall paper in the bathroom was peeling off and looks like mold under it. No elevator inspection posted anywhere and looks like someone damaged the emergency speakers in the elevator. I stayed here 8 months ago and it was way better. not sure what changed in that time. I was so very disappointed. there ar limited hotels and I am a hilton honors member but I will have to try the holiday inn next time.

Staff was overall very friendly, but repeatedly lacked familiarity with the computer system to address basic questions. Tried to switch our room and charge us again for pet deposit. Eventually threatened to leave if they did so. They let us stay in the same, but it shouldn’t have come to that. Would select a different property if we returned to the area.

The decor in my room was very cute, but there was a lot of dust, I'm not sure if it had been a while since they booked the room I was in or what but there was dust in cracks and on the plant decor. The first room we were assigned the AC was broke and the Fridge was broke. The second room they gave us was ok there were burnt lights and we had to go from the first floor to the second floor to get Ice. By the way I'm handicapped. The exit door by our room was broken and wouldn't open with the key. You had to prop it open with a rug. We were not very impressed and won't stay there again. Only had one clerk at the desk working and no one else. 😟

Although the lobby is pretty. The furniture needs cleaning with stains . deep cleaning in corners and on moldings is also needed. We came in for a wedding and picked this hotel mainly for the outdoor pool as there is nothing to do in this remote area. With an 11 year old I figured fun pool, days and family fun nights. The pool was closed for the season. It was 85 degrees throughout or stay and besides the wedding we had only to stay in the room and watch tv.

There was black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, the desk attendant got an attitude when i mentioned I had my Service Dog with me, all the external access doors wouldnt unlock with key card so we had to walk around the whole building and use the front door. The breakfast, that Hampton Inns are known for was non existent, all they had was a brown bag, unripe orange dry bagel and bottle of water. For $150 a night this was extremely disappointing.

Convenient to everything, however there waa a run down old hotel next to it and a trash pile which just made it sewm sketchy. Hotel and staff very nice and clean. Disappointed! This is not my usual at Hampton.

The evening desk clerk was not friendly or helpful at all. There was mold on the wall in bathroom near shower. The remote control did not work for our tv. I asked the night clerk to charge batteries and she took behind close doors and gave it back. I don’t believe she changed the batteries. Hotel was out of coffee for in room coffee pots.
The morning desk clerk was very sweet and kind and the girl who provides the breakfast was just wonderful.

The hotel confirmed a room with two queen beds weeks ago. Upon arrival, they first argued that my sister and I had booked a room with a king bed. I showed them the hotel reservation and confirmation on Orbitz showing two queen beds. They then told us there were no rooms with queen beds available. We asked if a cot could be placed in the room, and they agreed while charging us $15 additional to sleep on a cot resulting from their booking mistake. They later discounted the cot price from $15 to $10.
The hotel was recently renovated, but the wallpaper in the bathroom is already peeling away from the walls. Someone had stapled (??!!) the wall paper to the wall as a cheap temporary fix.
Don't stay here.

Our family of 4 (including baby and young child) needed accommodations for one night while visiting family in Leesville over the weekend, and since this was our first time needing a hotel due to increased family size, I relied on reviews to choose Hampton Inn as our best value for money. Overall we had a good experience, but there were some negatives we experienced as well. (my full review is on trip advisor)
Pros:
-friendly & helpful staff
-clean rooms & linens
-low noise level
-great breakfast
-later noon checkout available upon request
Cons:
-smells! first room smelled damp and musty so we got a new room which smelled great
-mildew or mold behind caulking at seams of bath tub
-pool and hot tub were not clean
-fitness center was stinky and had broken equipment

This facility was excellent. All the staff were quite nice and friendly. Although we were there only one night, we noted several times how diligent and hard working the staff were. This certainly is a sign of a well managed business. The room was neat, clean, well arranged and modern, unlike the Hampton Inn in Stephenville, TX.

Two issues for room 302:

(1) the lighting over the bathroom vanity was really too dim for ladies' tastes;

(2) The air conditioning, while powerful, would run too long, getting too cold before shutting down. Then it would shut off too long, allowing the room to become too warm before resuming cooling. We cycled back and forth between being cold and too warm. This is just a controls issue.

The room was really nice for this area. The front desk clerk, Monica, was extremely knowledgeable about the area; she recommended several restaurants in the area and a few places to visit if I had time. Claire, the lady who was at the breakfast service, made accommodations for my food allergies, which she didn’t have to do; so that makes this an even better place to stay in my book. I will be staying here again when I return to the area.
