The food was amazing, good variety. The design of the rooms are beautiful a and the bed were comfortable. However, we could not use the spa or book any massages. The room was dusty. One of the glasses used broke and my sister ended up with a piece of glasses

Bad: Noisy at night, particularly on Friday night when the party happens. Pools aren't heated like advertised. Food was good but not great if you don't eat meat. Nothing else to do in the area.

Fantastic property - if it's sunny! Sadly, we had 4 days of torrential rain for the 4 days we were visiting and there was very little to do.
We had a 23 month old toddler with us and he wasn't allowed to use the soft play or use any of the toys in the kids club as the minimum age is 2. They then agreed that we could have 15 minutes at 10am in the soft play as there was literally nothing at all to do with him.
There's very limited seating in the main bar so everyone spilled into the reception area before they opened the nightclub for somewhere for people to sit. Sadly, there wasn't any entertainment so we spent a lot of time in the room trying to keep our son occupied. It's such a shame as when the sun is out, im sure this is the perfect place.

Nice location. Everything has been renovated 5-6 years ago. Although was all inclusive I had hard time picking quality food from buffet. A lot of artificial stuff.
Crowded. Mostly families from Germany and rest of Europe…
Their policy with pool towels very annoying ….You have to use for one towel at the time ticket and limited hours when they dispense it.

No gluten free options markings.

Overall I would not go back.

Lovely break

We stayed for 2 nights and were very happy with the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the resort. Everyone wore masks and we saw cleaners constantly cleaning common areas. The beds were very confortable even the sofa bed that the kids slept on. The beach is beautiful and one pool was heated so kids had fun

We had a very relaxing stay at the resort, the staff were very friendly and helpful and everywhere felt safe and the resort was kept sparkling clean. Beach is beautiful. Our stay was great. Food was lovely, staff helpful and friendly. Room was great too. Amenities were good but the Liquid Bar should be for adults only as alcohol is served and small children are swimming and playing about in the pool on their own and due to COVID restrictions space is controlled making adults having to wait in a queue to go in.

Good hotel;some improvements to enhance experience

Overall pleasant stay but a bit overcrowded e.g. Andalus restaurant with only one food station meant long queues. Some tired facilities (broken chairs), but I understand that the hotel will be undergoing renovations for next season. Food quality was mainly very good. Wine quality was average, perhaps introduce wine list even if at extra cost. Entertainment was a mixed match, some shows were very good, magician and flamenco (better than many tourist oriented) content of one I felt was not suitable for children. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Look forward to the improvements.

This is a difficult review to write. Overall, we liked the Riu Chiclana better than this review will sound. The food was very good. The service staff friendly, helpful and charming. The rooms were clean, the pools were beautiful and the beach is incredible. However, there are some downsides. The hotel is an older property and is showing its age. It needs some major repairs and, possibly, some reconstruction. The rooms are small, windowless and claustrophobic. The air conditioning is older and doesn't work very well. Also, this is a resort for people who do not want to do anything but sit in the sun and relax by the water. The hotel is miles from anywhere you might want to visit and there is only one tour operator to speak with if you want to go off property. This tour operator has very limited offerings. The front desk staff is very nice and tries to be helpful but most of the information received about things that were not on the property was wrong. Overall the ClubHotel Riu Chiclana deserves 4 stars and I would give it 4.5 if I could but it isn't perfect.

Family stay 5 nights near Easter

Family 2 adults 2 kids age 6 and 8 all inclusive. Family room more like an apartment, bedroom kingsize bed, lounge two beds with cushions on easy to covert to sofas and good size bathroom. Rooms cleaned daily if required. Stayed early April pleasantly busy. Outdoor pools used by a few but not widely as too cold, indoor pool/jacuzzi excellent and open 8am-8pm. Shows on a nightime that my 8 year old inparticular loved. Food very good, wide choice. Guests predominantly German and Spanish but staff spoke some English if required so no problems although we tried to use our limited Spanish where we could. Very short and pleasant walk to excellent beach.Hotel friendly and family orientated.They had kids clubs and other activities for all daily but we didn't use them partly as not many English but mainly because plenty of other stuff to do (inparticular because we had a car) -hotel is a little isolated - no major centre to walk to. Parking not a problem outside hotel.When we picked the car up in Malaga the car hire staff knew of the hotel immediately. It has a good reputation and we could see why as we had a relaxing, comfortable and memorable stay.

Habitaciones muy cómodas! La comida muy rica, todo el personal muy amable! La única oportunidad de mejora es el proceso de ingreso en recepción ya que hicimos mas de 1 hora de fila, ojala puedan optimizar estos tiempos. De cualquier forma el personal nos dio una hora mas a la salida por esta situación compensando esa perdida de tiempo así que nosotros felices, muchas gracias!

Schöne Anlage, saubere Zimmer. Leider verfügt das Hotel über keine Liegen am Strand, aber wir haben trotzdem sehr viel Zeit am Strand verbracht. Essen erinnert oft an „die Schlacht am Buffet“, aber das ist der Menge an Menschen geschuldet. Wer die RiU Hotels kennt weiß, was ihn in etwa erwartet. Schöne Unterkunft mit wunderschönem Strand. Die Anlage ist doch recht groß. Unter der Woche hat es sich sehr gut verteilt. Am Wochenende war es sehr voll, was man zum Beispiel im Speisesaal gemerkt hat.
Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Ausreichend Parkplätze vorhanden, die kostenlos genutzt werden können.

Las instalaciones impecables, el trato de los trabajadores maravilloso… pero la comida muy normal, como cualquier todo incluido de otras cadenas “sin renombre”. All over okay place especially with kids.
But foods and drinks are not good. You can’t expect good foods and drink at there.
I woke up with nasty smell in the morning which I assume drainage from bathroom. I booked with Expedia 2 adults and one kid(2 years), when I checked in I was told that kid price is not included. So we have to pay for kid.
I don’t think I will go back to over there.

Las habitaciones son buenas, pero las zonas comunes del complejo son excelentes. Piscinas bonitas y en abundancia, incluida la zona infantil. Pero lo mejor de todo el hotel es la comida del bufete (abundante y de calidad).

We had a lovely stay, a weekend was enough for me as very busy and quite loud. Ideal for families and lots for young children to do. Food is very good quality and the staff are very friendly and lots of them! In general would recommend for people with young children.

La mayor decepción de mi vida

Apenas llegar y nos dimos cuenta que el hotel estaba desbordado, con ocupación sobre un 95%. La habitación era ruidosa, por la animación en la zona de piscina que se escuchaba en todo el hotel.

Al ir a la piscina, no habia un espacio disponible para entrar al agua. No había ni una sola tumbona disponible para poner nuestras cosas. Había vasos usados y basura por todas partes.

En definitiva, un lugar en el que es imposible para 1 semana de descanso. Una gran decepción. De hecho, nos fuimos después de invertir más de 2 horas negociando las condiciones de salida para abandonar el hotel.

Todo estuvo muy bien en general, pero hay algunas cosas a mejorar:
1.- La velocidad con la que se circula con los carritos de servicio por las zonas peatonales es excesiva. Transmiten inseguridad e intranquilidad.
2.- Los \"periquitos\" de riego mojan zonas peatonales y, por ejemplo, la terraza de nuestra habitación.
3.- La sala de juegos es pequeña, y se echa en falta que sea gratuita.
4.- Se echan en falta otras actividades que suele haber en la zona: mesas de ping-pong, ordenadores, etc.

Chaotisch in het weekend. Rookvrije accomodatie???

In dit hotel kunnen erg veel gasten verblijven. Vooral in de weekenden. 90 % van de gasten zijn dan Spanjaarden. Voor mij geven ze veel overlast omdat ze bijna allemaal roken en deze niet rokers accomodatie geeft geen duidelijke instruktie wat roken betreft. Dus in het weekend buiten het hotel een ommetje en alle rookgordijnen omzeilen op alle plaatsen in het hotel. Gelukkig is er een super strand waar het goed toeven is. Wel de ligbedden betalen €14 en de 78 treden op en af.
Het eten is er ondanks de chaotische taferelen best wel goed. De service en kamer en de noodzakelijke gigantische parkeerplek is ook dik in orde. Spa en kapper was ook beneden de verwachting. Weinig verder te doen in de buurt. Kom er niet meer terug en ga de andere hotels proberen aan hetzelfde strand.

Me habian hablado muy bien de la cadena Riu y tras pasar el puente nos fuimos desilusionados, esperábamos mas, mas variedad y calidad en las comidas y mas diferencia en las ofertas de los restaurantes tematicos. La oferta de ocio nocturno esperabamos mas actuaciones, baile etc.
Por motivos de salud necesitamos bide en el cuarto de baño y tras comunicarlo el primer dia recien llegado, nos dijeron que debiamos haberlo incluido en las peticiones al hacer la reserva, pero quien iva a pensar que un hotel con esa categoria iba a prescindir de dicha pieza en el aseo.De todas formas la persona que nos atendió nos dijo que lo sentia pero que ni ese dia ni ninguno nos podian cambiar la habitacion.
El spaa exceptuando los tratamientos de pago, imposible coger cita los 4 dias que estubimos allí, incluso intentando hacer la reserva insitu en las instalaciones enfrente fuera del complejo hotelero.
Por otro lado hay que ser justos y mencionar el trato amable de la mayoría del personal que hizo que nos fueramos con mejor sabor de boca.
No se si mis comentarios serviran para algo, pero estan hechos con intencion constructiva .
