I booked this hotel based on its online advertising, which turned out to be very misleading. Several amenities and features shown in the listing were either unavailable or did not exist at all. The STANDARD room we were given did not match the photos or description.

Most concerning, the room had no window, something that was never disclosed during booking. Because I am asthmatic, the lack of proper ventilation caused serious health issues, and we were forced to leave three nights early for medical reasons. This was not a matter of preference but of safety.

When we informed the staff, there was little understanding or effort to accommodate us. Had the hotel been honest about the room conditions, we would never have booked this stay.

The room did not match the photos, and features that were a big reason for my booking were either “out of order” or never existed in the first place. When I raised this with staff, the response was dismissive and unhelpful, as if this was a common complaint they were used to ignoring.

I wouldn’t have booked this hotel if the information had been accurate. Transparency matters, and this place seriously lacks it. I do not recommend staying here unless you’re comfortable gambling on whether what’s advertised is actually real.

I strongly believe this property misrepresents itself and fails to consider guest well-being. I do not recommend this hotel, especially for anyone with respiratory or health concerns.

We had a great stay, hotel is well located in the center, convenient for tour pickups, breakfast is ok, but main concern was that we booked a tour through an agency, and for some reason one of the tour providers had a mishandling situation, that being a third party, they reached to the hotel, and the managing personal of the hotel, gave away our information to the third party.
This was very surprising from the hotel reception not to keep our privacy first.

The property is this small front tucked into a very busy street. Blink and you'll miss it. Inside, it's a nice hotel, with nice touches of mirrors, marble,and tile. The staff is numerous, extremely helpful and polite. Not a scowl in the place, it was delightful.
The rooms are comfortable and spacious, the bed was a bit stiff for me, but that's me. Slept anyway.
Security is ubiquitous, very friendly, and genuinely interested.
I would definitely come back here. The mall is a short walk away, lots of shops on the road, and tons of "tuktuks" for a cheap easy ride.

Hotel is adequate. Be aware of its limitations.

Conveniently located; odd layout configuration of rooms, hallways, stairways. Many rooms lack views (have windows to inner hallways). Place seems very old, in need of a facelift. Rooftop is not very welcoming. Bed mattresses are very hard. No bath soap or hand soap provided; must ask to have them in room.

Staff was pleasant. Good security at front door/lobby. Breakfast offered had a nice range of food (including made-to-order omelets). Happy hour pricing was very inexpensive.

Note: hotel is hard pressed to give confirmation of reservation. Several of my friends double booked for same nights, for fear of not having a room when not needed. Confirmations come very late after reserving, if at they come at all.

Large clean room. Staff is friendly and front desk staff was helpful with questions and planning. Mattress was the hardest I ever slept on. Thin mattress on a board. A good bed is pretty basic to decent stay. Multiple roosters just below our room kept us up most of the night. Cold shower and had to ask for soap. Restaurant was convenient and low priced but below average. We stayed based on recommendation of our dive boat Aggressor which picked us up late afternoon. Hotel was not flexible on late checkout despite a significant number of boat guests each week from Aggressor. We paid for extra half day, although the hotel rate is not that high. Suggest you stay at another hotel

Stayed here for 2 nights. The room that got assigned to us didnt’t have any windows so that a bummer. It’a also located at the central of the town on a very busy street next to a wet market. But with all the hussle and bussle, outside noise and smell of the wet market I enjoyed our stay. It was in a convenien location walking distance to the Bay Walk, market, stores, and transportation. The room was very clean and modern along with the complementary filipino-style buffet breakfast. If peace, quiet, great view is your thing … this is not the hotel for you. But if you need a clean hotel with very good service that’s close to everything this hotel is highly recommended.

The hotel is located centrally. Is clean. But the service and the staff are the worst.
They didn’t have hand wash, towels in the room. Even after asking they delivered them after 30 mins.
They couldn’t give water for the welcome drink. Welcome drink is such a bluff. They kept putting things on each other.
Gym didn’t even have a water tap.
Staff service was the worst. While I was waiting to be served the staff at the restaurant kept on taking other guest queries. How rude and unprofessional. Would not recommend to stay.

Clean and comfy for an overnight stay

Everything was fine, this was just a quick one night stay before flying out. Room was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a bit limited for western tastes. Only thing that I didn’t like was the room did not have an outside facing window, it did have a balcony door, but this opened onto a corridor! I was only there overnight so wasn’t a problem but if I was staying longer this would be a problem, and this was not specified in the reservation

The hotel is located on the fourth floor of a shopping center with a small lobby on the first floor. Many rooms do not have a window. You must pay extra to get a "Deluxe" room with a window. The beds are very firm but the rooms are nice and roomy. The staff is very nice and willing to accommodate needs and requests, Airport transfers are available for a fee.

I paid for checkin luggage on line with a link they sent me with the invoice and at check in they had no record of it being paid. I gave them an invoice number and they did t know how to pull it up. I had to go to my cc transactions to prove payment and then they couldn’t figure out how to clear it out of the system so they could check us in. The whole process took 35 min with no apologies

Room fairly modern for Philippines. We accidentally booked a good location, the Baywalk was just three blocks away. It’s convenient to the airport, and most tour companies will come directly here due to the good location. Close to markets, mall and many stores that are up and down the street in walking distance. The staff is nice, the room was good for the value. Roosters crow every morning at 4:30am. Your options is a room with no windows or a room on the mainstreet that is also loud. It is the owners responsibility to make a deal with a guy that has 10 chickens and 5 roosters. Hire him, buy his chickens or buy the property that has the roosters. Go to the city and complain This area is not zoned as a farm. Or your ratings will suffer. I complained to Expedia and they called the hotel and no one responded to Exoedia. This poor customer experience and noise level will get you bad reviews.

Don’t let the front entrance fool you. The street side is extremely busy, noisy, and rather dirty. Once inside the hotel the small lobby is quite nice. The rooms are above are quiet and it feels completely different from outside. Two of us shared a room with two large beds quite spacious. We had a balcony with a commanding view of the bay. Breakfast buffet was enough mostly Filipino foods but did have toast and buns, oatmeal, cold cereals. The only complaint was the TV did not get any stations. Also the obscured glass enclosure for bathroom is not very private, especially with light on in bathroom. You can definitely see shadows of person inside and noise was not insulated. Parts of the glass covering were peeling so it was clear. Close to everything the SM Mall is 10 minutes away by walking also the bay front walk is around the corner. There is pharmacy downstairs as well as a supermarket and local department store

Located on the 4th floor above a multi-level mall, the room floor is bright, clean and modern. The rooms are big and the balcony is lovely. Puerto Princessa is loud and busy but being on the 4th floor puts you a bit above everything. Great location right in a busy shopping area with lots of restaurants and a short walk to the Baywalk area. The free, yes FREE airport shuttle was great and ready exactly when requested. The hotel provided us with a full to-go traditional Filipino style breakfast since we had to check out before breakfast started, it was a lot of food and very good. The only thin I can thin of was that the bed was pretty firm, a bit too firm for me but that is subjective of course.

The place needs general cleaning and a bit of renovation. The bathroom and tub was dirty, they need to clean the place even if it a bit old. During check in, we were sitting in the sofa at the receptions area, waiting for like 30 minutes. If I didn't ask for an update we wouldn't know that we are already done checking in. The lady staff said oh you're already checked in! I was like oh nobody informed us.

My stay at the sunlight guest hotel was nice...they have a free shuttle service from the airport arrived a little early room wasn't ready but it was ok..the rooms are super big with a balcony. My wife loved the tub in the bathroom. I loved the roof top bar. .nice view. The front desk was very friendly they even helped us to book a tour. Overall enjoyed our stay. .

First of all...good point about this hotel.. good location if you want to shop at a huge modern mall.. Also there is some souvenir shopping and groceries nearby.
okay.. on to not so good points. Bed is as hard as a rock. Would be great if you were a dog. Almost like sleeping on the floor!
Carpets are dirty.
Shower sucks.. just a trickle.
Internet is not good. Always off and on. Also, only works on the 4th floor which is where the hotel is. This is not a hotel building. It's one floor.
Pay extra for the view or you will get a view of a wall.
There is no beach nearby. You can take the tours from the hotel but if I had to do it again, I would stay about 45 minutes from this hotel and the airport on one of the beautiful beaches. There is really not a lot of beautiful things around this hotel. It's in the middle of a crowded downtown with lots of traffic.
The breakfast is horrible. It was so bad that even though it was free, we didn't want it. Sometimes they had eggs to order and sometimes they had cold scrambled eggs. Everything else looked really scary. You had to hunt someone down to get anything extra like tea or salt.
Staff was fairly friendly but not very helpful. They didn't seem to know a whole lot about anything.
Price was not good for what you could get in other parts of Palawan. There is no pool, no beach, no relaxation. Just one floor of a building with a hard bed. That's all.

Four days in a decent jumping point

The room was spacious and part of a free upgrade, so I was definitely pleased with that. The location was convenient, with the waterfront, SM and many restaurants nearby, even if the adjacent street was often crowded and a bit of a rough road. The staff were good at helping me with concerns, such as making sure I had a pre-packed breakfast since I had to check out before the breakfast buffet opened. They arranged for me to get a tricycle to the beach and helped me schedule a few tours. Good job.

This hotel has nice rooms if you get a bay view room it’s problems are all about the terrible restaurant Ricardos group run this buffet rubbish it’s all Chinese cheap food yes it’s cheap to eat there to but you can have water or camansi juice which is also your welcome drink choice there is no restaurant within walking distance hiking maybe I bought my own coffee for my room so I didn’t even use the included breakfast again buffet I can’t have water that’s not bottled as I have a condition and the water is not safe in there restaurant. I can’t comment on the spa or gym as i didn’t use them. The place is still having work done the staff are great though my advice there’s better in peurto Princesa. WiFi is only on 4th floor ok as so was my room if they had a good international restaurant I’d recommend it but it’s not it’s all about profit buffets are aren’t they.

For the rates we were charged this hotel was fantastic. Facilities were plush, my view of the harbor was great, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The included breakfast was a full hot and cold buffet line. The rooftop lounge was great in the evening. I was truly surprised at the quality of the hotel, which would probably rate five stars in any major city. I stayed in about a dozen different hotels throughout the Philippines during my trip, but this was by far the best, given quality and cost.

Booked this hotel for 2 days.

1. Got single bed room despite request for a 2 twin bed in the booking
2. Room was dirty, (stained carpet & sofa)
3. Things in the room was terrible, shampoo diluted and doesnt smell good, containers are old seemingly re-used and importantly, towels are stinky
4. Staff service is worst ever. a. asking me to pay for 3rd person despite the fact that they did not provide anmy extra for the 3rd person, b. after calling their attention on the first 3, no one resolved it at all c. no one settled with me the question on payment for the 3rd person in the 2 days stay and they held me during check out where i almost miss my flight

Worse hotel in Puerto Princesa

Staff and Manager not nice. Do not care about their guest even during off season and rain/ typoon season they were rude and seem like did not care. Rooms were dirty, smelly, old and our air con leaked through our lights and ceiling. They sent the maintenance guy to fix it , he did it while we sat in the room first thing in the morning they did not offer to move us or to take us some where else. The list of bad stuff that happened in 3 days let alone the first day we checked in. Room dirty had to cause a fuss for a new room. This place is so not worth the money stay any where else but here. Specially if on vacation it just makes it more stressful that place.

Nice hotel next to a water park!!

Had an excellent stay in one of the aquarooms and really enjoyed it. The bathrooms are transparent and very clean. Breakfast is at the restaurant (Makan Makan - Asian Food Village) with great options. The staff are super-friendly and nice to chat with. Getting a cab to town isn't difficult as there are always taxis coming in to drop off customers for the water park. It'll cost about P800 to use the hotel shuttle to the airport.

Hotel close to bay walk and public market

WIFI and CABLE not functioning. Heard noise coming from the staff room which was located just beside our room. Heard also pestering sound coming from the ceiling.

It was a nice place to go for a relaxing and foods were ok. We love the underground water and the three islands we visited. We have also enjoyed the Ugong Rock caving spelunking and zip line.. Hope to be back again in your place in the future..

excellent service and friendly staff

we did not actually stayed in the hotel since our flight was cancelled so I can't comment about the room (but it will not allow me to submit if I don't rate it). but the staff are phenomenal, when we contacted the hotel and asked if we could avail the breakfast the next day we were accomodated without any problems. we even used their shuttle bus service from the airport and we stayed until our coach picked us up for our onward journey to El Nido. the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Ok, wouldn't return

- Nice hotel room minus the creepy glass wall facing an empty hallway.
- location was great if you like cheap eats. Walking around was a bit scary with all the traffic

Great

Only came because I got rained out in El Nido and I needed luxury, air con and a TV. Glad my last 2 days were here. While over my budget, it was exactly what I need, however if I had paid the full price I woulda been disappointed.

It took a day and being extra forceful for them to fix my TV. I booked 2 tours with them: City Tour and Sabang Underground River tour. City Tour ended up getting cancelled, but they were quite apologetic and the underground river tour was AMAZING. Total highlight of the trip.

Bad location and dirty bathroom

This hotel should not be recommended for tourist it is located in the worst area of the city very dirty and congested with local food shops and very bad smell all over
The rooms are not clean towels are dirty and bathrooms are extremely dirty
The bed and bellows should be thrown away and not used at all even though I got the penthouse suite but it was terrible

Good hotel close to amenities.

We arrived at the hotel tired so we rested instead of joining the city tour. We have a dinner at Ka Lui's seafood restaurant. This restaurant is a must if you visit Puerto Princesa but you have to book in advance. Facilities and foods are quite amazing. The next day we joined the underground river tour. About 2 hours drive to Sabang where you will disembark and then wait your turn to be transferred to a motor boat to ferry to the mouth of the river. Then you will be transferred to a paddle boat (group of ten, plus the tour guide who paddles the boat) for your underground river experience. Magnificent. Third day was a Honda Bay tour, snorkeling, swimming and diving with buffet lunch in Cowrie Island. Very enjoyable tour.

My impression

The hotel is closed to the center of the city, the hotel in is on top of the unitop mall which is an A+ to save moeny for grocery on food. They have mini nice gym but no pool. Its closed to the baywalk and in the roof top you can see the mountains blgd and seaview. They have nice complementary breakfast which revitalized our day. And approchable service crew which assist us all throughout our stay.. The downside the rooms were not well maintain though its clean and comfy overall we enjoyed our stay and makes us safe too.
