Mae haad beach is also one of the rare beaches on the island that has easy access to deeper waters! Great for swimmers.

Older resort in a stunning beachside location with a huge pool. Most staff were friendly and helpful, especially Julie.
My ground floor room was spacious with a renovated bathroom & terrace. Unfortunately the old, heavy timber furniture was dated, whilst the poor lighting, multiple light switches and heavy curtains combined to create a dark ambience. The bed mattress was firm and uncomfortable.
Breakfasts were disappointing - eg limited range of cereals and fresh fruit, malfunctioning toaster. Service staff seemed bored and disinterested.
Heaps of customer service improvement and building/grounds maintenance are required eg painting of timber railings, broken step tiles, rubbish at foot of stair wells.
Local shops outside the Hotel include a mini-market but only a single major restaurant.

We wasn't aware of the issues with taxis in Koh Phanang. The hotel didn't contact me to let us know a shuttle service was available, only found out once we'd arrived. Booking a taxi with the hotel is a must!! Taxis outside the port are part of a scam all run by one company, massively overcharging people when they arrive. If you Google this there is plenty of information out there, but we weren't warned by the hotel

The property was absolutely gorgeous, almost like a dream, with 2 beautiful shaped pools and a connected waterfall, with frangipangi trees and blossoms everywhere. The nearby beach (Mae Haad) is just gorgeous.
The room cleaning service staff was excellent. The front desk and restaurant staff were pleasant but not super sharp. The restaurant had a nice breakfast and very good Thai food. Some of the non Thai food that we had was mediocre.

We got off to a bad start when our booking for a twin room was confirmed as a double instead (I was travelling with my daughter), and I ended up having to pay extra to sleep on a mattress on the floor. I know they're not the only hotel that seems to consider these two options as interchangeable, but it's a very poor practice and cost them a star.
After that, everything within the hotel was lovely. Our room was very comfortable, the breakfasts were generous with plenty of choice and variety (though they do need to sort out a better coffee machine!) and the food was good, though we preferred the local restaurants.
The staff were always very helpful, especially on the last day when we needed first aid for my daughter who had a nasty fall.
The pool and the beach right in front of the hotel were beautiful. Eating dinner on the terrace watching the sun set was a memorable highlight.
The area itself has a few good eateries, and a handy mini-mart, but precious little else within walking distance, and there didn't seem to be a whole lot else to do without taking the ferry to Koh Samui. However, since we mostly wanted to swim and sunbathe, we had everything we needed.

Great location, still a car is helpful and adviced to go around (about 15min from center thong sala). The hotel service is great. The beach sand with small stones so closed diving shoes are advised. Loved the villa ,breakfast chaotic lowlife of foods and areas dirty and unkempt.Tiles in pool were broken and general and areas not maintained including standing areas for pool showers .Nothing is jet cleaned around pool .Pool is however large and we loved it .The area in front of the bar is filthy ,weeds and nobody clears tables or empties rubbish .The area where the egg station is has upturned old furniture and things just stacked there and again dirty floors .The housekeeping staff were lovely but restaurant staff lazy and no signs of Happy Hours or promotions .This place has no visible management which is ridiculous it needs to be lived and could be great with care and attention .There is no beach in front you have to walk around the corner and that’s nice there.I have read a lot of previous comments and it does not look like any attention is paid as nothing improved and that’s careless .

Only issue we had is that the neighboring beach has some wild dogs on in and during one of our visits to the beach the dogs savagely attacked each other.

Amazingly friendly staff! It was the best part of our stay. Fantastic gardens and huge pool. Not the best location and the standard rooms are ok, but the beds and pillows were uncomfortable. Food overall is good and reasonably priced. Disappointed that the beach bar restaurant was closed and was not advised in advance of our stay. There is nothing really close by to chose from either. The beach was a little disappointing and not what we expected for snorkeling. The surroundings are really beautiful with lots of trees and birds. The hotel itself is very clean and has great service but the location overall was not what we were looking for, but thats personal preference.

Nice property (although quite large) in quiet village. We used the pier transfer service both ways and it worked very well. Hotel staff was very kind and helpful. Our room overlooked the pool with the swim up bar and the loud music wasn’t really our thing, but it was only on until 7pm, so it didn’t end up bothering us too much. There was not many people partying in the pool but I imagine it gets busy around the full moon. The other pool was a more quiet place to hang out, if you prefer, and there are rooms over there. So make sure you get what you want when you are booking. There was a pretty strong sulphery smell occasionally coming from the plumbing in our otherwise very nice room. We never had any hot water and we weren’t sure if that was by design due to the climate. It didn’t bother us, but it might bother you.

Resort is a bit tired and old family rooms need updating. Gap in front door made it tricky for children to sleep as noise and light came into room and not very secure. Beach in front of hotel is not great, much better beach at Thong Nai Pan. Staff are friendly but as a resort charging a fair amount for your stay something is missing.

I LOVED my stay at Maehaad. First of all, this property is located in a very quiet part of the island, which is exactly what I was looking for. A mini mart and a couple of places to eat in the vicinity. Some great view points within walking distance (360 Bar and Tree House bar), also a waterfall close by. If you are looking for more of a \"party\" scene, this is not it. Maehaad Beach is nice and in the morning it's quiet, but it gets busy. There are nicer beaches on the island, but I was happy to stay close to the hotel. It was also very cool to walk across the sand \"bridge\" that forms when the tide is low, connecting it to Ko Mah island. Snorkeling is not good here. I snorkeled the length of Ko Mah and didn't see much other than a lot of dead coral, unfortunately. The hotel has a beautiful pool if you need a break from full sun exposure on the beach. The hotel will send a free shuttle to pick you up on arrival if you arrange it beforehand otherwise, return shuttle or any shuttle getting to Thong Sala Pier will cost 150 bht pp. (min 2 people or 300 bht). The service and staff are excellent. They can help you with any bookings or special requests. Breakfast was buffet style with lots of options. Rooms are beautiful. I was upgraded to a room overlooking the pool and it was my favorite of all the places I stayed on my 2-week holiday. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place to relax.

We wasted our first day in a room that couldn't lock properly and facing a construction site even the staff struggled to close the door. We felt unsafe to leave the room that night and unfortunately that evening they were fully booked and couldn't offer another room. The second day we were moved into another room which was amazing we had wished we had that room to begin with.

The hotel was wonderful ! The only thing I would say that our rooms shower had open brick at the top so bugs and little geckos could get in ! Not really a major problem as long as you keep the door closed ! And probably one fly came in too .. wasn’t a major deal for me but other people might feel differently! The hotel is wonderful. The rooms are very modern and spacious. The staff had created a beautiful flower decoration on our bed when we arrived. The pool is really big and a great part of the hotel. The hotel is right on the beach. The restaurant food was good. Unfortunately, they were doing some repair work to the beach as well as construction on the hotel and so during June 2016 there were construction vehicles and noise on the beach. Also note that in June the sea is quite shallow which made snorkeling nearby quite difficult.

the resort is 200 m far from the beach. sounds nothing but its really inconvenient. we really didn't appreciate the cleaning of the room- there is a huge window facing the beautiful pool but it wasn't cleaned for a ages. the window as well and they don't clean the porch. the bathroom was fool of ants. bad water flow iin shower, lousy wifi
during the day really bad slow and un pleasant service in hotel's restaurant.
the resort itself is really clean and quite and the pool is amazing. in front of hotel there is a massage shop with one of the most amazing massagist we ever met.

We arrived at night n were greeted by friendly staff. The lady that showed us to our Villa was extremely informative n helpful. The villas are roomy n were cleaned daily n had a outside shower which we enjoyed using. Plenty of options to eat outside the resort but most were closed as it was quiet season. The maehaad Resort restaurant wasnt expensive and had a variety of choices for breakfast n dinner. The beach is clean n we snorkelled most days. Also i recommend the cocktails at the bar.

Just spent 4 nights here and have to say the Staff couldn't do enough for us, the Hotel and Grounds were kept spotless and our room was the amazing, biggest balcony and bathroom Ive ever had.
There were 3 of us and the room was still huge so for a couple Id definately advise getting the Deluxe Room. We stayed in 2201
Location was perfect right next to the beach which is probably the best in Koh Phangan, the swimming pool was also huge.
I would 100% recommend anyone to stay here

The women at check-in were among the most apathetic, insolent horrors I have come across in many years of travel. The approach to solving a problem was to refuse everything and hide behind \"its our policy\". They refused to escalate the problem to the manager and made fun of us for booking this hotel (prepaid through expedia). The lackadaisical service carries across to other resort staff too, where you would expect a staff member to locate a sun lounge mattress for you, the reply I got was being waived over to the pool and take someone elses. The deluxe rooms are nice enough but lack design and thoughtless use of space... don't expect any view other than reception or the pool. The resort beach is an even bigger disappointment. Gravel with cement poles holding in the sand. This hotel is not on the picture postcard beach, however it is a short walk away from it, but just means you do not get the benefit of the hotel sun lounges to lie on the beach, instead fight for your stretch of sand with the boat loads of back backpackers that spend the day on the best part of the beach. The beach becomes unswimable at low tide where you can't get past the weed and coral to reach water deeper than mid calf height. You need a motor bike to reach the areas where the closest decent restaurants are, which are for hire right outside the hotel.This place guarantees to disappoint.

Had a great stay at the Maehaad Bay. We stayed for two nights during the full moon party and although it is a distance away it took no longer than 20 minutes. There isn't much around however the restaurant at the hotel is really good. Rooms are lovely and the staff are really kind and considerate! Highly recommend this hotel

Stayed here due to the great looking photos on their website and reviews by others. The photos of the Resort on their website make it look stunning, but it's not. The gardens were over grown and messy and the grass needed a mow. I did really like the size of our room and the view. Great size bathroom with a huge bath and private deck. Our bed was hard as a rock. The main reason I would not recommend this resort is due to their restaurant and their restaurant service. We were the only two in the restaurant around dinner time and the service was shocking, still waited 30 minutes for our food, and then had to send our steak back because it was very raw and was obviously from frozen ! Didn't get asked if we wanted drinks etc... The breakfast buffet was small and mostly pre packaged food. The kitchen couldn't keep up with refilling the trays of food, so people had to wait for more food to be cooked. The cocktail bar near the pool was slow service too. We were once again the only couple ordering cocktails but still took them 10mins to make two drinks. The beach is beautiful, so I'd recommend you walk down to the beach for better food and service from another restaurant, it's cheaper too!.

Well managed resort. We were greeted with a welcome drink and upgraded to a deluxe room...more like 2 room unit. Wonderful pool. The view from the beach was surreal! The breakfast was great but dinner?? WOW!! Quite a treat! I had soft shell crabs prepared 4 different ways! Hotel taxi van was 150 baht but Per Person! Betwwen koh tao (too small), phangan (perfect), and Samui (too large and over commercial)...phangan was our favorite island. This resort made ot even more special. STOP! Think no more...BOOK HERE.

Even better than we expected.

Booked for a 7 night stay on koh phangan. Chose this location as away from the party scene of the island and we were not disappointed. Stayed in deluxe room which was large, huge bathroom and big out door living area. Bed was big and hard- best nights sleep I've had in ages. Pool was lovely. Staff helpful and friendly. Can't give a big review on breakfast as only managed to get up in time for it once, but selection was good and tasty. Hired kayaks which I would recommend. Would def come back.

Great hotel for a couple days

The hotel rooms, staff and grounds are all fantastic. I stayed 3 nights with my girlfriend and had a great stay. The location would be the only downside, being fairly removed from the other, more exciting parts of the island. If you're looking for a nice, relaxing place to chill (or a quiet family vacation), you'll be quite pleased. If you're looking for a party and a different restaurant every night, you'll probably be disappointed with the location. The swimming pool is awesome and the nearby beach is great.

This has to be one of the nicest places I've ever stayed at. The place is 2 years old and in perfect condition.

The pool is amazing and the location to koh ma is great. The beach is ok. Not nearly as nice as rin haad. However, there is a beach a bit to the north easy and its very nice and about a 5 minute ride. It's in a very quite place and not a ton of stuff around to do. It's a 15 minute ride to thong sala.

Hotel is awesome and staff was nice. There is a local named Tommay that works there. He was most helpful and a super nice guy.

The hotel has a great beachfront location, a large pool, and a convenient restaurant. These were the main positives of our stay.

On the downside, the staff were not very friendly and sometimes made us feel questioned rather than welcomed. The room locks felt insecure, and the cleaning was only average.

Overall, a nice location and facilities, but there is room for improvement in service, security, and housekeeping.

La struttura é situata in un bellissimo giardino. Abbiamo apprezzato la tranquillitá e lo scenario della piscina a sinistra della reception. Le camere sono spaziose, silenziose ed il bagno molto vibibile.Colazione ricca e varia. Ein schönes gepflegtes Resort. Unser Zimmer war echt groß und hatte ein schönes Fenster mit Blick zum Pool. Das Frühstück war lecker und abwechslungsreich, immer frisches Obst und Gemüse. Das Resort hat leider keinen direkten Zugang zum Strand und in der Umgebung sind ganz wenig Restaurants. Desswegen ist man auf einen Roller angewiesen, was nicht schlimm ist, uns hat alles gefallen.

Sehr schöne Lage. Ein Korallenriff direkt am Strand. Sehr schön zum schnorcheln. Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen und braucht hier und da Renovierung. Wir hatten das Deluxe Zimmer..Das war sehr geräumig und sauber. Frühstück war gut und für jeden ist etwas dabei. Die Tische könnten besser gereinigt werden. Das Personal an der Rezeption ist oft reserviert und unfreundlich. Aber wie gesagt alles in allem ist das Hotel in Ordnung.

Det var et super dejligt resort, hvor alt personale var rigtige venlige. Gratis transfer til byen et par gange om dagen, som var meget belejligt eftersom det ligger lidt afsiddet med få restauranter. Eneste minus er, at der ikke er nok liggestole ved poolen til alle gæsterne eftersom det er et ret stort hotel. Der er \"charter\" tendens over det, fordi gæsterne spærrer solvogne fra morgenstunden for at være sikker på at få en. Très bel hôtel pour un séjour en famille

Nous avons passé 2 nuits dans cet établissement pour des vacances en famille.
Très belle situation, dommage que certains clients s’accaparent les transats à 8h00 alors qu’ils n’y sont pas.
Petit déjeuner pas à la hauteur de l’établissement

Bel hôtel-pas de plage-2 belles piscines

Bon rapport qualité prix si vous êtes dans l annexe au calme et belle piscine avec transats dispos mais sur l autre piscine : guère aux transats… confortables. Pas de plage à l hôtel mais une à côté un peu bof par contre très beau coucher de soleil :) si petit compris ça va sinon en supplément un peu cher et bof ! Hôtel un peu isolé que 3 ou 4 restos en extérieur près de l hôtel , scooter à louer de préférence.

All in all ist dies eine schöne Unterkunft. Es war sauber, die Anlage ist super schön. Bitte beachtet die Ebbe und Flutzeiten bevor ihr diese Unterkunft bucht ansonsten ansonsten bietet der Pool nur eine Abkühlung. Es wurde jeden Tag geputzt und es gab ein super Frühstücksbuffet. Das Manko ist der Service, die Angestellten sprechen sehr schlecht englisch und verstehen oft nicht was man sagt. Des Weiteren liegt das Resort weit außerhalb des Zentrums circa 30 Minuten mit dem Roller.

This hotel complex was a dream for us. We had great rooms with a view of the huge pool area and some with a view of the ocean. Everyone tried very hard. The departure by minibus and speedboat to the island of Koh Samoui could also be booked at reception. In the surrounding area - less than a 3 minute walk - there were 2 excellent restaurants. We 3 families will meet again. Thanks to the whole team.

Belle chambre très spacieuse et bien équipée. La plage de l'hôtel n'est pas fabuleuse, il faut aller sur la plage de l'hôtel d'a côté. La vue est cependant très jolie sur l'ile d'en face.
La piscine et le restaurant pour le petit déjeuner sont sous-dimensionnée. Il y a une 2ème piscine mais elle semble mal entretenue. La piscine principale est par contre très sympa.

Ett bra hotell med medelbra service och standard. Vackert beläget i närheten av en fin strand som inte är allt för överbefolkad. Helt ok poolområde. Maten på restaurangen är vad man kan förvänta sig av ett medelklasshotell varken bra eller dåligt. Tyvärr stank det mögel på vårt rum och hotellet var fullbokat så vi fick stå ut.

Super Lage für Schnorchler:innen. Rollerverlei vor der Tür und damit die gesamte Insel schnell zu erkunden. Sehr freundliches Personal (leider manchmal mit begrenztem, englischem Wortschatz) und saubere Unterkunft. Strand vor der Tür. Mehrere Restaurants um die Ecke.

Could be so much better

This hotel is one of the best I have been to in Thailand. The staff is very good and observant, the standard is good and it has a marvelous location. However, due to some incidents, I can't give it the grade it deserves.
To start with the aircon in our room did not work properly and we complained four times before we were upgraded to another room. Twice the aircon started to shoot ice on us in the bed. Not a pleasant experience, but the worst thing was the totally hopeless manager of the breakfast restaurant. She doesn't understand what good service is and seem not to be interested to correct things for the better, maybe because she is a relative to the owner.
We complain that the breakfast was getting poor if you came late. Some items were never filled after it was finished. When confronting the manager about it she said it was because my wife ate it all!!
True, my wife loves watermelon and she ate more than an average customer, but you can't say that to a paying customer!
We asked her to apologise but she refused, hence this poor review fro us.

Struttura molto bella e ben pulita. Personale di ricevimento molto qualificato, gentile e disponibile.
Camere e personale ottimo.
Unica pecca la colazione: personale dedicato non preparato (ci mettevano tanto tempo per rimpiazzare i tavoli, la pulizia in sala ristorante lasciava molto a desiderare).

La struttura è molto bella, ma rimane un po' isolata, quindi considerate l'affitto del motorino (Con patente internazionale).
Nel complesso comunque struttura da consigliare.
