The Hotel has a great breakfast buffet with a lot of different fruit, cereal, bread and topping.
The beds are super comfortable, the towels super soft. I enjoyed the hot shower anD a good night sleep after a day of exploring the historic city of Marburg.

We were pleased with our stay at the Welcome Hotel. Parking is around the back of the building and underground. It was very convenient to go to the old city by walking across the street and taking the elevator up to the historic area where there were many shops and outdoor cafes. Breakfast was excellent, but after 9 days it became repetitive. We would stay here again!

Opposite the lifts to the old town for those that don't like uphills/cobbles.
Next to the Lahn and close to the old Botanical gardens.
The staff were great, as was the breakfast.
Would recommend and will be back, as our daughter & granddaughter live there.

We had a very positive experience at the Welcome Hotel. It is in a perfect location, just take an elevator across the street to get to the beautiful Old Town area. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff, especially Kristen Thiele, were all friendly and helpful. Kristen went out of her way to help us with the train scheduling. The included breakfast was wonderful. Our only complaint was that the shower was very small. Overall, a great hotel and we would definitely stay there again.

The most impressive thing was the lovely dining room and the extraordinary breakfast with polite servers- everything you would want. Bed was luxurious as well. Yet, I could not firure out the layout of the hotel, getting confused in some of the hallways.

Hotel is 1 mile from Bahnhof on bus line. Across,the street is an elevator that takes you up 5 floors to the Altstadt center. Close to walkway along river Lahn. Staff was helpful with Restaurant and transport knowledge. Rooms are plain, but decent size, clean and comfortable. Our room was on inner courtyard, quiet, especially when we had AC running. In room coffee maker a plus. Shower was a bit tight, lights were dim. Wi-Fi worked well. Breakfast had plenty of choices and well prepared. Filterkaffee on each table and other coffee or tea options available.

Very helpful reception staff. Stayed before and the parking charge is quite high, 30 Euros for best part of 2 days. Breakfast good, although variety of fruit to go with yogurt is now basically a fruit salad. Overall comfortable and in a handy location at a reasonable price.

Ideal location. Our room faced road bit was quiet at night. Generously sized bedroom with desk (which I needed) and bath with shower. Great breakfast from 6:30. Told front desk that we needed to leave hotel at 6 on second day and was given “lunch” bags (2 sandwiches each, juice), which was nice.

Criticisms: wifi was strong but v weak in room. Needed more places to charge devices in room.

The central position was perfect.
The only negative aspect was the noisy neighbourhood. We stayed for 2 nights, and the 2 nights I've been awaken by people shouting in the street.

Practical hotel with good location

This hotel is in walking distance to the historical center of Marburg, which is very nice. The hotel itself is a modern building, which has the advantage of underground parking and a certain spaciousness, but it lacks the atmosphere of a historical building.
The room was quite large (Double room for single use) but the bathroom rather small and simple. In general it seemed not so much attention was to the detail (in terms of decoration, furniture selection etc.) but everything was clean and in good shape.
WiFi was very slow.

The hotel is situated very near the old town and just over the rod from a lift up the steep climb. It was a comfortable room, although when we were there the air conditioning did not work and we had to be moved to a quieter room so we could open the windows and be refreshed by the cool air outside. Like most hotels in Germany, there were no toiletries in the bathroom and no fridge or kettle in the bedroom. Disappointing.

Great for a day trip and special dietary needs

First, as a coeliac I was very pleased to find well-trained and friendly staff that prepared me a great breakfast and lunch (including their own gluten free buns) which was free of extra charge and above-standard. This still cannot be taken for granted in Germany and should be considered by anyone with special dietary needs looking for a hotel room in Marburg. For the hotel itself, the location within the old town is superb, especially if you just got a day or two to explore. I see that some reviews query the \"noisy\" rooms to the street - well, that is what you get if you want to stay that central and a bunch of party people walking around on a w/e is nothing you'd be surprised to see in a student town?
We were overall very satisfied and would recommend. A couple of things that I think need to be looked after are the mattresses and decoration that will need doing soon. Also, parking is a bit of an issue - whilst the hotel's own underground parking is handy, yet something I expect in that price range, the signage coming from the main road could be better (we almost ended up parking in the wrong multi-storey car park on the opposite side), and EUR 15.00 for less than 24h is just way too much.

This hotel has multiple issue first it is a lie by hotel that it has air conditioning whereas this is air cooling only and that too non functional
Second horrible wi fi in most room technical issues and I had to change the room three times and still bad
Third bathroom heater becomes on as soon as you switch on the light and makes the room furnace even if you keep the window open
Fourth Hotel staff is trained to speak lie and justify everything thinking that whole world is illiterate and idiot and know nothing about hotel stay
The only good thing is location and Restaurent
Worst hotel as I could not sleep for three night then I shifted to Hotel Villa Vitta within Marburg which is 5 star and great experience
I want refund of 50% for all three days

Great location. Just 1 min. to old town.

Marburg is probably my favorite old city in Germany. The oldest university town in Germany and fortunately not damaged during the war. The village of Amoeneburg nearby sits atop a large hill with old houses and the ruins of a 10th century castle.

My overall feeling is that it was a very comfortable Hotel, with very helpful staff, and a breakfast restaurant which had every thing anyone would want to eat at Breakfast. Was a little cramped when very busy, and one had to ask for things that had run out. The most disappointing thing was WiFi. The staff were kind enough to set up my iPhone, but I found the signal gone when I tried to use it the next morning, and as I am an 88year old man and not that technical, I found it a bother asking the staff to ret the WiFi every morning. However that is a minor niggle, generally I was very satisfied with my stay.

Stayed for two nights in a nice, clean room overlooking a garden with some views of the old city. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful and knew enough about computers to help solve some minor difficulties in logging on to the free, fast wifi. The room was clean, and comfortable, and good value for the price. The buffet breakfast was a particular highlight - an impressive array of food with tables either inside or outside in the garden courtyard. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Best Location in Town but Just So-So Accommodation

The hotel is literally right across the street from the elevator that takes you to the Old City, which is the tourist area of Marburg. There is not a better location in town if your intent is to stay at the center of this historic university town. The rooms were average, although our room key kept malfunctioning and we had to have the maid let us in more than once.

There was a full breakfast but the selections were placed under \"McDonalds-style\" heat lamps and a number of choices were dried and shriveled by the time we came down to eat. The staff didn't seem to pay much attention to refilling juice dispensers or replacing overheated trays.

The biggest frustration was the lack on Internet service during our stay. It is normally available but \"technicians\" were working on the system for most of our two days there. We hadn't made arrangements for the remainder of our time in Europe, figuring we would use Expedia from the hotel. Even during the half-day period when we were able to access the Internet, the connection was slow and shaky. There was one desktop in the lobby but there was always a line.

The location is unbeatable but we would not use the hotel again. Just too many disappointments. Our sense was that the management knows it will attract tourists and doesn't think it has to go out of its way to make their experience enjoyable.

The service and location were superb. We arrived early and were able to check in without delay. The hotel is directly across from the lifts or elevators to the old town, high above overlooking the university town and Lahn valley. We had a 5 minute walk to all the major sites and restaurants, so convenient and appreciated during the winter conditions.

A very positive experience

Staff were very friendly. Breakfast buffet was really fantastic; lots of choice and good quality food. Housekeeping were friendly, thorough and unintrusive. Reception staff were friendly, helpful and spoke English. Left-luggage facility was very useful. The location was perfect, right in the centre of everything. Beds could have been a little more comfortable but having good AC and the fact that we could open the windows if we wanted to instead was a big plus. The shower could have been newer and more powerful but it was adequate and did not impact our experience in a negative way.

This hotel is located in a great central location. The hotel is very well kept and was a very comfortable stay. The breakfast buffet is well stocked with food that will meet a wide variety of tastes. They have a parking garage, which is a bit expensive by american standards, but is necessary being in the heart of the city where parking is at a premium. This hotel should appeal to both business and vacation travelers, and I am exclusively using their accommodations in my travels there since it is a good value.

Great Hotel, Great Location

The Hotel Marburg is located directly across the street from the lift to Marburg's historic upper city. The accomodations were top-notch and the breakfast buffet provided was delicious and more than we could have asked for. We traveled with our two college aged children and were able to get a two-bedroom suite. It gave us ample room for a family and a nice seatting area when we had some downtime in the room. Everyone on the hotel staff spoke English.

Although we were in Marburg to deliver our daughter to the University in town (Phillips-Marburg University) we thought it was a great sightseeing stop as well. St. Elizabeth's church, completed in the late 1200's, was an amazing example of gothic architecture and a pleasant walk from the hotel. The upper city, where you could walk to the castle, had some beautiful sights, views of the city, good restaurants and shops. The hotel staff was also very helpful in directing us to stores to purchase items needed for my daughter's extended stay in the city.

Heizung im Schlafzimmer kaputt gewesen, aber dem Personal nicht wichtig gewesen. Batterien der technischen Geräte leer, sodass Fernseher und Klima nicht bedient werden konnte. Boden total zerkratzt und Zimmer leicht in die Jahre gekommen. Hätte ich auch persönlich mitgeteilt zum Schluss, jedoch wurden wir nichtmal gefragt, wie uns der Aufenthalt gefallen hat. Dafür aber sehr gut gereinigt, gutes Frühstück, Garage gut funktioniert.
