the safe was not functional in the room, 2 maintenance guys came up to fix it but couldnt get it going. I just checked in didn’t want to have 2 guys lingering around my apartment while waiting for a new safe as it was taking too long so I didn’t get it fixed, also everyday of my stay there was maintenance guys in my suite fixing an air condition unit. Without permission they would just be in there for a very long time. I didn’t have much privacy and feel like this could’ve waited till I wasn’t at the unit. again, this went on everyday of my stay.

Very handy location. Close to everything, but in a quiet area. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Especially the two lovely ladies in reception. Sunnie and Aimie.
Has a Starbucks coffee and two convenient stores within the complex.
Rooms have everything you could possibly need, including a washing machine.This is the second time we have stayed here. Will be back.

The property is in a nice quiet area of Ho Chi Minh, but only minutes from all the action by taxi. There are a couple of coffee shops steps away, and two convenient stores. All the staff are incredibly helpful and can't do enough for you. Very enjoyable two weeks. Will be back again.

Stayed 5 nights in the Premier 2 bedroom on the 18th floor with my wife and 2 kids. View was great from the apartment and it was comfortable and well equipped. Staff were friendly and made us feel welcomed. Special thanks to front desk staff Dennis for his hospitality and great service. Apartment was well maintained and spotless. Thanks to housekeeping staff Ngoc and Yloang. There is a grocery and convenience store in the same building and a couple of malls nearby. Hotel provides a free shuttle service to various attractions in the morning. Breakfast is provided at the Starbucks cafe via vouchers provided by the hotel. Food quality is good. My family and I enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel.

A good choice of stay for a family

I visited Ho Chi Minh City with friends and we haven’t realized that it is a service apartment while booking a hotel. Rooms are big and there are full facilities that we don’t need to worry much.
It is also convenient that there is a supermarket when we just go downstairs. A truly good place to stay when you visited Ho Chi Minh with a family.

Loved this place. Enough room for a family of 4/5.

The only bad part is there aren't too many close places to eat. So you have to take a taxi to go downtown (district 1) or away from the hotel for food.

I wished the hotel offered atleast breakfast. Even you are on your own for breakfast.

This hotel is like apartment style. So you will have full scale kitchen. You can do grocery and do cooking.

The stay was as expected. The apartment was excellent with the washing machine/dryer which is a must for a family. I t also had swimming pool with separate gym area. The only problem was one working lift for the whole building so sometimes we had to wait a while for the lift to turn up.

The access road from town centre to the hotel apartment block was closed due to construction work. Every time we came back to the hotel, the taxi driver had difficulty to find alternative routes and it was rather frustrating. The shuttle bus service has also become very limited, only once in the morning to go out to town and none return. Other than this, we found our stay was quite pleasant.

Trying to call and talk to the hotel was difficult due to poor English, however it's not an English speaking country. On booking I did put in special requests that we arrive late as they only have desk staff till midnight, we arrived there at 1230am and was warmly accepted which was excellent however a reply or acknowledgment to our special request would have put our mind at ease prior.
Somerset currently has a freeway being built across the main entrance and construction is slow and hard for taxis to find entrance. Pool was shut down majority of our stay.
Besides this it was a luxury room and face to face staff was helpful.
Expect a 11km taxi ride to and from main city which is approx 160,000 dong each way 10.40 Aud and $7.30 US
Don't get scammed at airport and agree to 400,000 dong to hotel as a meter taxi is only less than 200,000 dong.
I would stay in this hotel again if pool is operational.

Was the beat value for money as it had so many features and was relaxing. The children didn't want to go out but just stay at the hotel.
We ate from the sports bar restaurant lots.
We didn't mind the drive into the city, often not costing more than 150,000 doing

Spacious but bad service.

The hotel is spacious but the service is bad. Slow check out process Because they have to send someone to my room to verified that I didn't take anything before I can leave. They have a price list for every item in the hotel room. When I check out, one of the bathroom towel was underneath the bed and they couldn't find it and didn't let me check out until they find it. If I have enough money to pay for the hotel, why would they think I steal a towel that ain't worth anything. This hotel don't even trust their guess and think everyone would steal from them.
Aside from the bad service, this hotel is out in the middle of no where with limited transportation service. Free shuttle run only 2-3 time in the morning not in the evening or at night.

Very nice fully-equipped hotel. Nice workout facility and huge outdoor pool. A little out of the heart of the city, but good shopping and restaurants nearby. Watch out for crooked taxi drivers (button in pants leg used to run up meter). If you experience one, refuse to pay more than typical fare.

we spent 8 days in Somerset Vista in Dec 2014 in a 2 bedroom suite. The only disappointing aspect to this experience was the hotel staff could not accommodate any request we made when we booked the hotel in Oct. The hotel is also far away from the city centre so allow time for travel everyday.

Most of the existing reviews here were accurate.
-Room is very spacious and new.
-Very large swimming pool in the complex. Comfortable gym.
-Modern, simple and practical decor and furniture.
-Easy to keep clean.
-Not too far from the town center but traffic makes it a bit of a hassle to get around.
-Cab drivers do not know the building. Cab drivers in Vietnam use the fact that they don't know the road/location as a right/excuse to drive around and charge more rather than their fault. There is no effort to be honest on their part.
-There are enough good restaurants in the surrounding area if you know how to look as it is a concentrated residential area for expats.
-Nothing much within walking distance since the busy highway loops around the buildings. There are a market, a cafe and a restaurant under the buildings. Market is helpful; cafe is passable. I did not try the restaurant as some reviews were negative.
-It happens to be the second Ascott property that I have a good experience with and possibly will be on my \"reliable name list\".

Wonderful!

My partner, friend and I chose to stay here and it was brilliant like. Rooms were very clean and had great facilities. Out favourite place we stayed accommodation wise in Vietnam. It was about a 5-10min drive from district one but there are plenty if buses and taxis. Found it useful having a supermarket next door too. Highly recommend

Views were also amazing - very good value for the $. Would stay there again. A little bit away from the center though, but great if you want the distance. Needs more development around it and it will be even better eg. proper roading, more shops to choose from for meals and general shopping.

We had a fabulous apartment at a very cheap rate. Location is outside of the city centre, but if you don't mind hopping in a taxi when you go out then it's a really good option. Pool, gym and tennis court are all very good and the staff can't do enough for you.

Great new spacious apartment. Service was great. Building is in the middle of no where- a couple of restaurants/ bar part of the complex, other than this a taxi ride into town. Best suited to families looking at unwinding- not great for work travel due to distance to city and shopping/ restaurants. Staff where very good.

the Somerset is a wonderful place to stay. The amenities were nice. The only complaint i had is that they were doing construction next door that woke us up at 9:am. They moved us to a different room. I would stay here again.

Would recommend this place to anyone nice n clean. pool is huge, coffee shops, anz atm and super market on site very convenient. equipt with a kitchen, washer n dryer we never had to pack dirty clothes again! even though it's a 10 min taxi ride to the main city..it feels good to get away from the craziness of the city n relax n rest in a beautiful apartment! wouldn't recommend the breakfast tho. I travel to HCMC nearly twice a year..must say this is by far my fave place to stay.

Double bedroom apartment was huge and clean. When I entered, soft relaxing music was already playing and they even had a fruit basket prepared with a greeting card with my name printed on it. Great service, decent breakfast, free wifi, high floor rooms - great if you have business to do in District 2, but it's in a pretty residential area and hence not so much going on around.

Well appointed rooms - extremely comfortable

This is my second stay at this lovely place (last stay was in October last year). This is a great place to stay if you want to be away from the main area of HCMC. Somerset Vista is located in District 2 and this time around we found the cab drivers were more aware of it's location. Cost to District 1 is around $5-7 US one way. I suggest you take a business card to show the driver when you need to return home as this will help them locate the place (most can't speak much English but can read it). The area is fairly new and still being developed. There are more shops nearby and a new sports bar is about to open. The location is safe and has an ANZ ATM near the downstairs area. The Shalome coffee shop downstairs is a must to visit as the staff are lovely and the coconut and chicken curry pies are devine. Supermarket downstairs stocks all you need to self cater or you can visit the newly opened Big C shopping centre just down the road (get a cab though as trying to cross the Hanoi Highway is not a good idea).

The rooms are large, very well appointed and very tidy. Great appliances/technology and all that you need for a family of 4. Rooms are serviced daily by friendly staff. Door service and reception staff are equally polite and eager to please as are the tour desk staff. Excellent free Wi-Fi which covers you inside and by the pool area. The pools are lovely but we aware staff will try to tell you not to swim in board shorts (if you are a women). Love this place!

Moved out of another, cheaper but very noisy hotel in the city: Pool is spacious for the kids: everything is brand new and clean, and the kitchen has everything you can want in it. A taxi costs around 7-8 USD dollars max to get into the city and most can find it easily enough.

Stayed at this hotel while in HMC for business, rented a 2 BR unit, spacious, well appointed, excellent value. Well located just outside of Distric 1 in D2, convenient if doing business outside of downtown. Easy to get back to Distric 1 town center, approx $10 cab ride.

숙박시설이 청결하고 고객응대가 친절했습니다. 다만, 식당가와 거리가 있어 차량 이동을 해야하고, 특히 조식 서비스 대신 스타벅스 쿠폰을 받았는데, 조식 비용으로 약 3만원(인당) 지불했으나 스타벅스 쿠폰은 약 8천원 이었으며 초과되는 금액은 별도 지불까지 했습니다.
이외에는 전반적으로 만족했습니다.

수영장이 마음드는 곳

위치가 애매하긴 한데 그 또한 원하는 부분이라면 호치민에서 머물기 좋은 곳 같습니다. 일단 신축이라 깨끗하고 수영장이 넓어 그런부분의 만족도는 높습니다.
상가 건물엔 식당, 슈퍼, 빵집 등도 있고 근처 단지로 택시를 타고 이동하면 더욱더 많은 식당과 마트 등이 있으니, 레지던스 시설을 충분히 이용할 수 있다면 머물기 좋은 곳입니다.
다만 만족도가 높은 반면 불편사항도 있습니다. 약간 호치민 외곽지역에 신규 택지 지역 같은 곳에 위치하다보니 (미사 지구 에서 강남 가는 그런 느낌 ) 일반적으로 많이 가는 1군 등으로 이동은 택시 편도 기준 6-8천원에 약 30-40분 정도 내지 그 이상 걸리던 것 같은데 몇일 계속 숙박하면 비용도 그렇고 뭔가 이동하는게 굉장히 귀찮은 일이 될 수 도 있습니다.
그리고 온화한 지역의 특성이겠지만 창호 부분이 2중창이나, 방한 대책 적용 없이 설치 되어 외부 도로측 소음 영향이 생각보다 큽니다. 일반적인 차량 주행 소음은 웬만하면 수용하겠지만 심야 고속도로 중차량 통행에 따른 소음 및 경적 소음은 편안한 수면을 갖기에 불편한 점을 줍니다. 이왕 신축하는 건물 방음 대책 적용이 있었으면 좋겠지만 아쉽네요. 한가지 더 말씀드리면 이곳은 입주민과 일부 숙박객이 같이 공존되는 형태로 보입니다. 그렇기 때문에 수영장 등 공용 시설에서 외부 방문객에 대한 별도의 시선이 가끔 느껴지게 되는 점은 아쉬운 점이 될 것 같습니다. 호치민에서 주로 레지던스 시설을 잘 활용할수 있으며, 넓은 수영장에서 주로 하루를 보낼 요량이면 괜찮은 곳 같습니다.

저는 Premier급을 예약했지만 사정상 executive를 사용했어요. 비스타 단지 6개 동이 한 건물을 호텔(서비스 아파트)로 제공하는 거예요. 현재 주변이 공사판이고 앞에 고속화도로라서 접근성이 좀 아쉬운 편이에요. (도보로 길을 건너갈 수 없음)연결된 건물에 옥시젠 쇼핑몰이 있는데 작아요. 마트도 작고 식당도 두어개 뿐. 그랩택시타면 2천원 정도면 옆에 마스터리나 길건너 에스텔라 하이츠로 갈 수 있는데, 거기 가면 쇼핑몰도 있고 한인식당, 한식자재판매점도 있어서 좋아요. 걸어가기엔 주변이 공사판이라 아직 어려워요. 위험하고 더럽고. 아파트 자체는 잘관리되고 깨끗한 편이에요. 수영장은 넓고 좋아보였어요. 피트니스도 넓고 괜찮아요 대신 샤워시설은 없어요.
주의하실 점은, 이 호텔이 운영하는 식당이 없어요. 조식 포함으로 오시면 옥시젠몰의 스타벅스쿠폰을 줘요. 빵이나 샌드위치, 파스타류가 제공되는데 직원들의 영어실력이나 친절도는 좋지만 음식은 질리실 수 있어요.
2군지역에 서비스아파트가 이거 하나 같아요. 국제학교가 밀집돼있는 지역이라 한인들, 일본인들이 많이 살고 아침에 유치원 셔틀도 오는걸 보았어요. 그래서 호치민의 서머셋브랜드중에 가장 비싼편입니다.
아이있는 가족이와서 사시기 적당한데, 대신 주변지역은 도보로 다니긴 공사판과 큰 도로 때문에 좀 무리에요.

朝食用のレストランは無いが併設するコーヒーショップでクーポンが提供されるので良かった。　　併設するスーパーとレストランのレベルは高くて　特に　’フォー’の味は
かなり美味しかった。
滞在型のサービスアパートのホテルユースなので一般的なホテルのサービスは無いが部屋は大変広く　清潔で　ゆったり出来る。　NHKも入り日本語のニュースも観れて良い。　但し　道路が前を走り車の音が少々煩い。
徒歩で歩き回れないがタクシーで近くのお洒落なお店街に近い。
