Location: 20 odd minutes walk to the town centre but song thaews are easily accessible.
Room: Good size for a family of 4 but the bathroom needs some touch ups. The safety box in our room was broken too.
Cleanliness: The room was clean, however the reception area smells unpleasant.
Breakfast: Basic - not much varieties.
Staff: Some are reasonably friendly but some are not.

This resort offers all the basics for a reasonably okay stay but nothing is above average. The best feature of this resort is the direct access to the beach and small snorkelling areas. It is surrounded by restaurants and bars. The fire show is also not too far away.

I spent a wonderful 9 nights at Samed Villa Resort. The resort is right on a beautiful beach with beach loungers and beach towels provided. The staff are super friendly, respectful and professional.
My room was very suitable for one person and was serviced daily.
The provided breakfast had a lot of choices and was served with views of the gardenand beach.
Totally love this place!

Very comfortable bed and spacious rooms. The resort faces directly onto a private beach. Each evening there were also fire shows on the beach. There is music that plays until late at night at some nearby bars, but they didn’t bother us too much. There are a lot of mosquitoes though, so make sure to bring insect repellent

Would have given a higer rating if it wasnt for the fact that the picture of the room when we booked made it look like we had a bungalow with a front patio near the beach when in fact it was a budget room in the far rear of the property. Tried to upgrade as soon as i realized it but there were no other suites available. Other than that the stay was pleasant and the staff are friendly and accommodating. 4 stars

My husband and I live & work in Bangkok so this trip was a relaxing time at the beach. The food was excellent, staff were accommodating & the beaches were fabulous! Their new bar “ Reef” has a great location just down the path! The beach was calm & so warm!
Only negative was the trip back to pier… no info given & price ridiculous if you are only 2 people ! We were told by “drivers” to sit & wait yet they knew no one would pick us up! So we over paid to get back! 30thb pp if over 7 people, 50 thb if 4 or more 200thb for 2 pp. lots of trucks would drive past with 2 people ! Why stop when they are making more for 2! Sad as we were left sitting in the rain! I am sure the resort could organize rides for their guests as a nice perk!
Otherwise a relaxing stay!

Beautiful small cabins very close to the sea. The island and particularly the area around this resort appears to be for more specific tastes. This however did not detract from our stay which was superb. Regretfully costs on the island seem a bit high and my wife got a pass for the national park free whereas I had to pay as a foreigner. This double pricing really needs to stop now.

Solid mid range option on beautiful Koh samed

Booked Samed Villa on the recommendation of others. Koh Samed has beautiful beaches and this hotel is a great location to base yourself at to walk to many of the beaches. Hotel Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The beachfront villas looked great although we booked the cheaper room at the back which I wouldn’t recommend - very small and not much light or outdoor space. Better to spend a bit more on the bigger villas at the front or if you are looking for a cheap option you may find better value elsewhere. Fantastic happy hour at the reef bar on the next beach down (same owners as Samed villa). Overall would come back!

One of the best hotels on the sunrise side of the island. Relaxed in the day. Walking distance to the main beach and nightlife. The ocean is clean with a few rocks on to watch out for. The restaurant is excellent.

Enjoyable out-of-season stay

Overall a fantastic stay, especially given that it was off-season and during COVID. Our only gripe was the fact that they decided to trim branches off a tree right by our bungalow during our stay, but they only worked on it after a reasonable time in the morning and stopped well before dark. It was a very minor disturbance, at most.

What a terrific resort. The service was terrific and the food was great. My room was very clean and modern as well. I’ve stayed a few times in other higher end resorts on the same beach but Samed Villa has been my favorite so far. I definitely look forward to coming back!

I have stayed at this hotel in the past and the rooms and overall facilities are superb. Breakfast is fantastic but would recommend a couple more staff added (servers) during the busy morning hours. BIGGEST disappointment by far was the poor (lack of) WIFI. This is a critical deciding point for many customers when choosing a hotel. I had work to do over the weekend and had to go elsewhere to do my work which is a major inconvenience. Was just a sign at the front dest that says \"no wifi\". This needs to be a priority for the hotel to get fixed !!!! The hotel is beautiful and I do recommend staying here but, if you are trying to get work done during you're stay, I would check in advance to see if wifi is available.

From the really friendly and helpful team at RECEPTION, and throughout, the people at the Samed Villa were all very welcoming.

A nice, spacious room, with a large comfy bed, and the air conditioning works fine.

The grounds are beautifully maintained, but still give the feeling of being in a jungle rainforest.

The Breakfast Buffet is more than ample, and constantly re-stocked.

ALL GOOD.

Wonderful experience. Staff were great. We were able to check in early. The rooms are very spacious and very clean. Lots of towels and free water and coffee/tea in the room. Satellite/Cable television and a great size bathroom. The resort has a very nice restaurant, breakfast was amazing and we also had lunch which was also amazing and the best dinner bbq on the beach. The beach facilities are top class as well and there are lots of small shops and other bars around as well. The checkout time is only 12pm so we were able to still have a morning swim before we left. We absolutely loved this resort and will be back.

Hotel is beautiful. Well maintained and clean. Every detail is taken care to perfection. Breakfast is really good. Tons of fun options to do around at walking distance. Also a perfect place if you want to relax. To get there, Pack light and Rent a motorbike from the pier instead of paying taxi. Ask for directions. It Is a single street so there is no way you can miss it. You could use the bike to come back to pier.

Had it wasnt for the food poisoning from the bacon I ate at the breakfast buffet on the first morning it might have been a much better experience. Bell staff were all eager to help and they do an excellent job. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. As a family resort you will except lots of kids running around.

Really enjoyed my stay. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Beach is nice and quiet, down the southern end of the main beach. Area around the resort was relaxed with a nice village atmosphere. Dinner was nice on the beach and breakfast was good. Overall good value for money. I will stay again next time come to Samet.

It's all rather basic stuff here. The room we had was always full of small flies. There was no water pressure and the Wi-Fi only worked in the reception area. However, the food facilities including the restaurant are good. The staff are the saving grace. Always helpful and smiling. I'm told that the owner looks after the staff. An important factor when choosing where to book.

Pros: the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is clean with a nice large TV. Breakfast with great view every morning.

Cons: The family room allocated to us has absolutely no view, and the bathroom shower water temperature fluctuates. There are a lot of mosquitoes especially during the evening, even at the beach front restaurant.

Vi hade lite otur men med det fick vi uppleva en grymt bra serviceminded och hjälpsam personal och tre olika rum.
Första rummet som vi bokade låg längre upp och var helt ok, vi valde ett billigt alternativ.
Städning och service toppen.
Problem med lite lukt från avlopp kvällstid men beror troligt på när vattennivå sänks (det kommer vattenleveranser varje dag) blir det mindre i rören. Men vi hade toadörren stängd och stördes inte direkt.
Rum två var en villa seaview, wow, wow, wow. Värt pengarna, det var lyxigt.
Sista rummet, nära restaurangen var mittemellan de två andra rummen.
De hjälpte oss när vi inte kunde ta oss vidare just då.
Så snälla och hjälpsamma.
Mycket fin strand, god mat på restaurang.
Rent på rummen och som sagt, hög service.

This was our second stay and we will come back again. A cosy and family friendly resort right on the beach. All you can wish for. Good food at the restaurant and no need to go anywhere else. Also the overall service level was high especially at the restaurant. The only small issue we had during our stay was the smelly drains in our bathroom due to defect water lock in the drains. They tried to fix the problem but with no success. We then covered the drains with plastic bags which did the trick.

Vi havde et deluxe seaview værelse 270 graders udsigt til havet der lå 50 meter væk.
Vi benyttede os af hotellets massage. Virkeligt godt i afslappende omgivelse i stedet for at ligge på stranden.
Eneste minus, som ikke er hotellets skyld, er larm langt ud på natten fra nærliggende bar.

Loud music from neighbouring resort

If you are a light sleeper and would like to go to bed before midnight I would not recommend this place. We stayed for a week and every single night there was loud music from the neighbouring hotel, White Sand. On the other hand they stop playing at exactly midnight so you know at what exact time you can go to bed. Apparently that's just the way it is and the owners of Samed cannot do anything about it. Sometimes there was even music in the early morning from Samed Villa itself. Not very loud but again, if you're a light sleeper you might want to reconsider staying here. Had I known about the noise I would not have booked. Other than that everything was fine, friendly staff etc.

Vi bodde i ett rum med egen uteplats mot havet, man vaknade till ljudet av vågorna som slog mot strandkanten, helt fantastiskt. Det är ett mysigt hotell med mysig uppbyggnad och struktur. God frukost och tillmötesgående personal. Det enda negativa var att det var svårt att hitta till hotellet när vi anlände, man går igenom en annan resort för att komma till entrén för samed villa. Wi-Fi skulle kunnat ha bättre täckning, men det fanns så mycket annat att fokusera på så internet behövdes nästan inte. Annars finns inget dåligt att säga.
