In Jena for business, and this property was recommended. Clean, modern ammenties, restaurant and bar on-site. Other businesses are a bit of hike, but if driving this is very convenient hotel with plenty of free parking.

OK, but not more than that

The hotel is far outside of town (that often comes with the free parking). We picked it since it was said they have a restaurant so we don't need to go to town. The restaurant was closed. When asking why the response was just \"closed\". The price is not high and consequently the hotel is quite worn down. Otherwise OK but not more.

Give this place a miss

Unfortunately my family and I were very disappointed with our stay. The air con in our room was broken and we spent the one night there battling to keep our baby cool enough. We were also disappointed with how unclean and unkept the room was. Plus the one site restaurant was closed as was the one site bar (both were meant to be open). The receptionist was friendly and did lend us a fan but couldn't offer us another room nor a discount. Very disappointed overall.

Affordable stay ~10 min from last tram stop

The hotel is located a 10 min walk from the last tram stop so you can go downtown even despite the location of the hotel. If you travel by car you'll appreciate the big car park outside. Hotel and interior are a bit dated, but everything was clean and the bed was ok. Breakfast was ok, but not overwhelming, and included scrambled eggs, bacon, salmon. Spent two nights while visiting friends, would consider going there again.

As far as Best Western Hotels go, this must be one of their better ones, as the rooms were clean and to a good standard! Double bed was comfortable, and reasonable size, rooms were quiet and I slept well (or else Germans are more considerate of fellow guests). I had difficutly connecting to the wifi, and ended up having to spend 30 minutes or so configuring and changing various things with the network settings of my laptop - I don't have to do this anywhere else. Also there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room - everything had to be ordered from the bar. I needed a camomille tea (always bring my own travel pack of herbel teas) but had to explain what I wanted at the bar and order the tea rather than just get hot water. Breakfast was mostly good, catering to European and US tastes. Location is remote but bearable if you've got a car, or can figure out the public transport.

Good hotel convenient to downtown by tram

A very comfortable room, well furnished. The one complaint I would have is that the duvet wasn't quite big enough for the bed, but I made do. The facilities were otherwise excellent. The staff was friendly and very competent. The hotel card allows free travel on the Jena tram and bus system, which is very convenient. The restaurant food was good but not much choice for vegans (which I am).

Nice stay in a somewhat aging hotel

The Best Western in Jena is a nice travel companion. Staff is friendly and efficient and all the amenities for the tired traveler are present: clean room, air conditioning, hotel bar, free parking and fast internet. The hotel and the rooms are aging though. This was noticeable in the noise the air conditioner was making. The unit was also operated by pushing physical buttons and turning dials on the unit itself - no remote operation.

Place to lay your head but nothing great

Hotel was dated. Bar was open when we arrived, but no food available. At least have something simple. Air conditioning was old, noisy, and had to be manually turned on. No wifi available. We overslept 40 minutes after checkout as we had just traveled internationally and we were charged $20 extra euro. They said if I had told them in advance they would not have charged me. When I checked in, I wasn't told what their checkout time was.

Our stay in the Best Western Jena was quite nice although we didn't spent too much time at the hotel itself. We were in town for a wedding. As a more business client focused hotel it is ideally located just a minute drive away from the highway, which to our positive surprise you do not hear at all. In fact the location is very quiet and surrounded by green. To reach the centre of Jena is also easy and takes no more than 10min. The rooms itself have been partially updated not too long ago, so while the room itself starts to look a little outdated the bathrooms are very nice and modern. The rest of the hotel is clean and well maintained, the staff is friendly, but it certainly has a business hotel vibe.

I has a very large and clean room, it included a kitchenette (which was not advertised).
I had no special requests or interaction with the staff, they were ok, four stars.
The location was perfect for me, a few minutes drive from route #4.
It seem that you do need a car as the city center is a few km away.

The hotel is clean and if you get a room that is not on the road side but the side facing the hills and gardens, the rooms are quiet. However, the rooms are small and I had to upgrade to one of the modern rooms to get a non smoking one. The modern rooms are considerably more pleasant. The hotel is a tram ride from town so if you don't mind being on the outskirts, it isn't a bad choice. But it isn't very charming and given that Jena is a charming town, I would recommend finding a place to stay that is more central.

Auch wenn das Hotel ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen ist, befindet es sich in einem ordentlichen und vor allem Dingen sehr sauberen Zustand. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Auswahl beim Frühstücksbuffet war ebenfalls sehr gut. Gefreut hat uns auch die Tatsache, dass im Zimmerpreis die Nutzung der öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel in Jena beinhaltet war.

Zimmer nicht unbedingt 4Sterne würdig. 2 Zimmer mit Verbindungstür für 3 Personen genutzt --> Waschbecken IM ZIMMER - sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig. 2x um Reparatur des Seifespenders gebeten - erst am 3.Tag behoben. Balkon ohne Möbel... nebenan nutzen Raucher diesen ausgiebig, dafür unangenehme Luft im Zimmer. Der Ausblick Richtung Osten entschädigte etwas. Anbindung in die Stadt mit Bus und Bahn prima! Naheliegend Abendessen beim Griechen empfehlenswert.

Personalet i aften-restauranten var uhøflige og aldeles træt af kunder. En kvindelig ansat skældte os decideret ud på tysk, fordi vi tog vores øl med ud i gårdhaven -> uden først at have informeret hende - vi havde betalt - men det passede absolut ikke damen, at vi ville sidde udenfor.

Receptionen var nogenlunde, men de var bestemt heller ikke begejstrede for kunder.

Hvordan hotellet kan have 4 stjerner er virkeligt en gåde - så skal det lige være for morgenmaden som var super - kaffen var god.

Vi kommer i hvert fald aldrig igen.

Standard Hotel, ziemlich veraltet, es wurde super warm im Zimmer (Außentemperatur <20 Grad) es gibt zwar eine Klimaanlage, die ist allerdings so laut, als würde man direkt auf einer Baustelle schlafen. Da musste man schon die Balkontür auf haben, dadurch war es laut durch Autogeräusche und es war so hell, dass die Nacht dann auch schnell zu Ende war.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück, das hinzugebucht werden musste, war sehr lecker. Die Frühstücks-Basics waren alle da, als Veganes gab es allerdings nur Obst und trockene Flocken, da es keine Milchalternative gab.
Leider wirkte vieles im Hotel überholungsbedürftig, alt und staubig. Im Zimmer roch es leicht nach Rauch und auch die Handtücher haben nach kaltem Qualm gerochen. Bei dem doch recht stolzen Preis nicht in Ordnung.

Gebucht war ein Doppelzimmer mit Doppelbett. Bekommen wurde ein Queensizebett. Lt. Rezeption gibt es in diesem Haus keine Doppelbetten! Waschbecken im Zimmer, nicht im Bad. Sehr laute Lüftungsgeneratoren vor dem Zimmerfenster.
Reklamation und Umzug nach der ersten Nacht in ein Zimmer mit zwei getrennten Betten auf einer ruhigen Hotelseite. Dies war in Ordnung.

Das erste Zimmer war mit Balkon und sehr schön, aber leider hatte es einen muffigen Geruch, was auch durch langes Lüften nicht wegging. Dann bemerkt ich, dass der Teppichboden nass war und der Geruch wahrscheinlich daher kam. Nach Rücksprache mit der Rezeption hatte ich ein anderes Zimmer bekommen. Schönes geräumiges Zimmer und sauber. Reichlich Parkplätze vor Ort. Frühstück für 16€ war mir einfach zu teuer, kann ich nicht beurteilen.

The hotel was okay, but it would have been nice to know, that the restaurant was closed. There are not many restaurants in the area. The receptionist told us, there was a supermarket not far away from the hotel! Well, that supermarket closed at 20:00, and we were there at 19:55.
We managed to grab a bag of bread and a few slices of ham.. Nice dinner after a long drive from Udine in Italy! The breakfast the next morning was nice though.

Für einfache Ansprüche gutes Hotel.

Es handelte sich um ein sauberes Hotel mit einer etwas veralteten Einrichtung. Die Gastronomie war leider eingeschränkt, es gab kein Mittagessen und auch die Abendkarte war für Vegetarier und Veganer entgegen der Beschreibungen nur auf Salat ausgerichtet. Auf nachfragen wurde aber etwas zusammengestellt, so dass auch meine Vegetarier satt wurden. Zur Zeit wird gerade neuer Teppich verlegt, was zu einigen Einschränkungen führt. Der Parkplatz ist sehr geräumig und ausreichend. Leider hatten wir ein Zimmer über irgendwelchen technischen Geräten auf dem Dach, welche ständig Lärm machten. Es gibt zwar einen Balkon, dieser hat aber keine Stühle, so dass man halt nur darauf stehen und rausgucken kann, ihn aber nicht zum relaxen nutzen kann. Ungewöhnlich fanden wir das Waschbecken im Zimmer, nur WC und Badewanne waren im separaten Raum. Leider war auch die Buchung von 2 Zimmern nebeneinander nicht möglich, zumindest waren die Zimmer aber in der Nähe auf dem gleichen Flur. Für Familien mit Kindern schwierig, weil man sich immer in 2er Teams aufteilen muss. Das Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche übrig, ist aber auch nicht gerade preiswert. Eine gute Alternative ist die Nutzung des kleines Wasserkochers auf dem Zimmer zum Kaffee kochen. In der Innenstadt gibt es mehrere preiswerte Frühstücksmöglichkeiten wie z.B. Backwerk oder man holt sich im Aldi Brötchen, der ist nur wenige Minuten vom Hotel entfernt. Die Hotelkarte berechtigt zur kostenlosen Nutzung des öffentlichen Personennahverkehres.

Ich habe 3 Nächte in diesem Hotel verbracht...als Alleinreisende ein sehr geräumiges Zimmer mit zwei Kingsize Betten! Eine super bequeme Matratze; sehr ruhige Lage in der 2. Etage. Toll war der Blick vom Balkon abends auf das beleuchtete Jena. Riesiger kostenloser Parkplatz; Wasserkocher im Zimmer. Ich habe das Frühstücksbuffet nur einmal genutzt. Preis war okay, aber der Frühstückssaal hat absolut nichts gemütliches an sich. Das sollte man ändern.

Alles war gut. Nur ich bin überrascht, dass keine Corona Kontrolle durchgeführt wurden….. fur mich definitiv kein gutes Zeichen!
Aber sonst war es ganz gut.
