A lovely hotel, well served every 20 mins by the local bus. NB the evening I was there the restaurant was closed for a rpivate function, which meant walking 20mins or getting the bus back into town to find a restaurant. The hotel pool was nice BUT only open 4-9pm on weekdays. Come on hotel, that's not good enough!

The hotel was located in an area with good transport links. I found occasionally it was difficult in my chair with static electricity. I would suggest maybe a couple of handrails in the bathroom to make it a little more accessible, and a bath with a shower is not helpful for someone who has to use a Powerchair. It's also a bit tricky to leave the room in your chair at times. There was much to enjoy about the room, but it could have been tailored a little more towards my needs. I had written to the hotel about a couple of issues, butdid not get replies. The restaurant staff were always kind and helpful. The wifi was occasionally a bit hit or miss.

The hotel needs an upgrade, my room did smell of smoke and carpet was not vacuumed everywhere. Every morning at breakfast, I had to queue for 15 min before a table was available. The hotel was not able to cope with a full capacity. For a hotel of this category the food and the service was disappointing.

Walking into the lobby of this hotel was absolutely beautiful. I was expecting a more lavish room. However I was very disappointed with the decor of the room considering I paid for an upgrade. Rooms were very dated and definitely need refurbishing. The air conditioning was very poor and left the rooms uncomfortably warm. A big contrast between the Leonardo Royal Hotel in Munich.

Clean hotel. Comfortable beds. Pool was only open in the morning on the day we checked in and checked out (we were there for two nights). This was a disappointment. Hotel restaurant was not open on the two days we stayed. We had planned on having a lazy day and made use of the hotel vending machines as there was nowhere else to get food on property. The WiFi was inconsistent.

Rather disappointing

My friend and I had booked a weekend at this hotel, we were planning to relax. We had mainly chosen this hotel because of the pool. Upon arrival a notice at the front desk told us, that the pool was being renovated. While checking in we remarked, that we had planned to use the pool. The hotel clerk didn't offer any compensation or substitution, they pretty much ignored the fact, that we were disappointed. All in all staff wasn't overly friendly and the rooms, even though they appeared to be clean, had stained sheets.

This is a very comfortable \"chain \" hotel with spacious rooms and friendly staff.
It is in a quiet location on the main road from the centre of Weimar to the Schloss in a wooded residential area. There is ample parking and it is about a 15 minute walk to town.

The woman on reception was gruff and unfriendly, which made a bad impression right from the start.

In addition it was just too difficult to have a table to ourselves for breakfast! The dining-room staff insisted on re-setting the table for four (no twos were available when we went to eat), and although we asked them to set only for two, this was denied. The result was that we kept being asked by complete strangers if they could join us for breakfast. Either sufficient provision should be made for couples, or two people should be allowed to sit at a table for four without any intrusion from others!

The cooked breakfast was not good (bacon seemed boiled rather than fried!) and the room was only OK. All in all, we didn't think that this hotel lived up to its 4-star rating. We certainly won't be back and will advise others not to go there.

Beautiful and modern

Elegant and sophisticated atmosphere. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Good bar service. Updated rooms with nice bathrooms. Location is not right in the center of things, but that is reflected in the reasonable rates. Stayed at another Leonardo hotel the next night as a result of this positive experience.

Coach party hotel. No tissues in the room - rooms in need of refurbishment. Felt cold and needed blanket - range down for extra blanket and had to go and collect from reception.

It was just somewhere convenient to sleep - similar to travel lodge, bland and boring.

Clean, modern and spacious room. Large hotel with ample facilities including nice pool. Excellent location being walking distance to all the sites in Weimar. My only gripe was with the parking situation which was confusing with the above ground parking being full, the machine/gate malfunctioning and the delay in response with the intercom.

Very pleasant but a bit isolated stay

Very decent hotel with various amenities, nearby the beautiful \"Park an der Ilm\". A bit to walk to the city centre but convenient during good weather. The only real disadvantage was that the windows could not be opened and the pool area was shielded from the beautiful environment, as well. That may serve the cleanliness but left us a bit separated from the nature and fresh air around.

Although the hotel location is nice, I suggest that visitors stay away if possible. To begin with, the breakfast buffet was a big disappointment. Secondly, the staff was rude. The air conditioning was a myth. All the settings on the control panel were fiction. You could at best turn it on or off. The temperature was set by the hotel. The air conditioner did not function at first and only after arrival of a technician was it put into \"action\". It took half the night to reach a bearable temperature. As a result, the next day was a total loss.

Not worth the price.

The lobby areas and restaurant were very nice, but the rooms were very average. The first front desk employee (a younger man I don't recall his name) I worked with was very rude and extremely unhelpful. He tried to charge me the full cost of internet for both my laptop and cell phone, which no hotel has ever done to me, and he seemed very annoyed when I asked for a power outlet adapter. The rest of the staff were reasonably friendly.

Only issues were:
- Fridge not working - understand that there is no longer a mini bar but it would have been nice to be able to turn on fridge as it was very hot during our stay.
- Wifi is very poor, and unless you joined the club you have to pay. Poor for a hotel this size and star rating.
- Over run by cyclists who brought their bicycles in to the hotel!! They filled the reception area with their bicycles and seriously inconvenienced other guests. No action by hotel staff. They blocked the entrance with their transport so that any other cars could not access - which meant turning and stopping in a very busy road.
- Supplies in room very variable - I had to go to reception for soap!

Stopover to see the museums and 'feel' of Weimar - delightful place. The hotel is close enough to the centre to be a pleasant walk and its facilities, breakfast and service are excellent. The only criticism is the ridiculous charges for Internet use - not that worrying as this was a holiday but...

Great stay! Front desk personel were very helpful and kinfd. The meals were excellent. Excellent accomidations. So far it has been the only hotel in 7 days in Germany that we have had to pay for WIFI access. However, free computer access was offered in business office for guest. The hotel was very clean and maintained.

If it wasn't for breakfast Maitre 'D and service at departure we would have given this merely 3 * across the board. Check-in was mediocre and poor description of hotel and amenities. Smiles? Don't expect them. The bar service and patrons were downright depressing. Pool...supposed to be open until 10 pm. At 9:15 they were closing up but begrudgingly let us swim. No towels available...already put away, sauna...already closed. Bowling closed. Called front desk three times for aeasy walking to the town and the park across nother pillow and nobody ever answered. Breakfast pretty basic for European standards.....canned fruit, bowls of yogurt not individual choices, cheeses, meats, I've had better and I've had worse. No cooked to order items, nor fresh fruit. BUT on a positive note, as mentioned, breakfast Maitre D was very professional, friendly and accommodating. Location was walking distance to town and adjacent park was nice. Why parking charge when one block you can park for free on the street, and the charge for wifi was ridiculously high when most hotels now offer for free...at least in public areas if not in the rooms. We didn't oblige.

My 11 year old swallowed water whilst swimming and started coughing.
She spat the water out.
The attendant came at us like a bull-dog, shouting from across the pool that my daughter should not spit into the pool. I explained to the attendant what had happened. Not interested!
Then this person proceeded to complain to another guest at pool side, about how some people don't have any manners.
Really?!

Not a \"kid are you ok?\" or such.

This has been my fourth or fifth stay over the last 2 years.

Never again. My kid was so intimidated, that she stopped having fun and we left the pool.

Note, bar staff is extremely professional and polite!

Das Zimmer entsprach leider nicht unseren Erwartungen. Am ersten Tag dauerte es ewig bis eine angenehme Temperatur herschte (es war zu kalt).Beim Frühstück am ersten Tag war leider zu wenig Personal oder zu viele Gäste, je nach dem wie man es sieht. Alles war ein wenig chaotisch und wirkte unstrukturiert. Die Angestellten die da waren, gaben alles, aber es reichte hinten und vorne nicht.

Tuve que ser realojado en una segunda habitacion, la primera tenia una araña de dimensiones consideradas en el baño.
Habitacion muy amplia, con nevera y hervidor de agua.
La reposicion de cafe, era solo a medias, tan solo te reponian la mitad de lo consumido, sin embargo el pago de la habitacion si que era completo.
Buena calefaccion, pero iluminacion para el tamaño de la habitacion, insuficiente.
Baño amplio, con bañera, que necesita una reforma urgente, aunque todo decente, pero viejo.
El desayuno todo un espectaculo, muy completo, de buena calidad y una enorme seleccion de productos, nada habitual para esta categoria de hotel.
El personal de recepcion muy amable y servicial.
Cenar en el hotel, se hace complicado, no sabes cuando abre el restaurante, cuando esta cerrado y tienes que usar el Bar o incluso el dia donde simplemente no hay cocina. Salir a cenar supone un paseo de 15 a 20 minutos o transporte y en 5 minutos estas en pleno centro.
En general, la relacion precio/calidad es mas que correcta.

Sind als Familie angereist. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und gut. Zimmer etwas in die Jahre gekommen, besonders das Badezimmer. Dafür alles sehr sauber und alles notwendige vorhanden. Besonders praktisch war der kleine Kühlschrank sowie der Wasserkocher. Betten in Ordnung. Kommen gerne wieder.

Der Pool, sowie der Fitnessraum, ist leider nur kurz offen und zu kalt um länger darin zu verbleiben. Parken ist sehr teuer. Zimmer sind relativ altmodisch eingerichtet.
Buffet am morgen bietet viel Auswahl und ist gut. Die Innenstadt ist schnell zu Fuß zu erreichen und der Park an der Ilm befindet sich direkt daneben. Eingangsbereich schön gestaltet.

Ich war sehr enttäuscht von meinem Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel. Das Zimmer war nicht sauber, die Einrichtung alt und abgenutzt, und es gab keine Minibar – was man bei einem 4-Sterne-Hotel durchaus erwarten darf. Besonders beunruhigend war jedoch, dass ich in Zimmer 659 von Bettwanzen gebissen wurde. Unter diesen Umständen kann ich eine Buchung dieses Hotels nicht empfehlen.

Gutes Hotel mit Macken

Von aussen und in der Lobby sieht das Hotel sehr gut aus aber die Zimmer und Badezimmer sind definitiv renovierungsbedürftig aber für den Preis trotzdem noch akzeptabel. Die Bettdecken allerdings sind nicht akzeptabel. Eine dünne Decke in einer Hülle, ein nogo. Das Frühstück war sehr vielfältig, das ist empfehlenswert.

Alles war so gut wie es sein sollte. Haben leider nicht gesehen, dass Hunde auch ins Hotelzimmer rein dürfen… der Hund von Nachbar hat gut 3 Stunden gebellt… aber das war ja Silvester, konnte verstehen… also, wer Hunde hat, ist das Hotel top.

Perfekte Lage

Wir haben über Weihnachten mit Kleinkind guer übernachtet. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und die Lage des Hotels ist super. In knapp 20 Minuten ist die Innenstadt fußläufig erreichbar.

Zimmer sind sehr sauber, das Bad ist nur mit Badewanne und entspricht nicht mehr dem heutigen Zeitgeist. Kein Kühlschrank im Zimmer. Frühstück sehr gut und angenehme Räumlichkeiten. Personal sehr nett.
