The real stand-out was the breakfast. It had absolutely everything, including champagne.
The staff were generally friendly, although we did overhear a conversation where one member of staff was the opposite of friendly. Otherwise, staff were just wonderful.
Our room was roomy ... the bed was a dream. Haven't slept so well for years.
It is expensive, but the breakfast was worth every cent!

We stayed for three nights - Weimar itself was an amazing town to visit (we hadn’t expected this!) and the staff and facilities of the Hotel Elephant Weimar were exceptional. From the moment we checked in, to dinner, the clean up, to checking out - all the staff doing all the jobs were super friendly. I’d recommend this hotel in a heartbeat.

One of the very best hotels in Germany - truly historic location, five-star service, excellent dining. The great reception team made us feel at home from the start and treated us to an upgrade from the junior suite we'd booked to the Gropius Suite, a beautifully designed spacious suite in homage to the German-American founder of the Bauhaus school of architecture. We marveled at the attention to detail in the decor on the walls, the floor, the furniture. We treated ourselves to a gourmet dinner in the hotel's restaurant and enjoyed teatime the next day in the glorious Lichtsaal lobby with enough art on the walls to satisfy any culture vulture. We're looking forward to our next stay, Weimar has so much to see and this hotel is the place to be.

The property was exceptional however our room was so tiny that it was difficult for two people to utilize or enjoy. Great bed but very little space around it.
Also, it was cold and turning the heat up required a masters degree in engineering.
Breakfast was excellent and ground parking was available.

Fantastic hotel, right in the centre of Weimar

Beautiful hotel, very tastefully decorated. The rooms were really luxurious and cosy. The location just couldn't be better, right in the middle of Weimar, close to all the tourist highlights. Free parking behind the hotel was an added bonus. Would highly recommend.

Very nice hotel, Well located, Air conditioning?

This is an excellent well located hotel. We made the reservation via Hotels. com on May 9, 2019. The description said it is an air conditioned hotel. We checked in on June 17 to find an un-airconditoned hotel. Word was that it would be air conditioned by next week. The Hotels website on 6/17 and also today 7/2 says it is an air conditioned hotel. I would warn both Hotels.com and any potential guest to check and see if it is now air conditioned.
I would also like to add that the hotel was understanding of the problem and offered us items of $$ value to partially address the situation. We appreciated that but post this as potential added info for those interested the reserving the property.

For a hotel of this level, it should have had a table and sitting area in the room, which it did not.

Our only complaint is that there are no air condtioned rooms. It was pretty warm in our third floor room when we arrived. It cooled down outside at night and the hotel provided fan was much appreciated.

The room was clean and large, the staff gracious and the restaurant Anna Amelia very good. There's a large hotel owned parking lot next to the hotel with access from a side strret and easy pedestrian access to the lobby

Beautiful hotel right on the main square.

Spacious room with all the amenities. Lot's of great restaurants nearby. Just a couple of blocks from Goethe and Schiller's homes and a few more blocks to Liszt's apartment. Wonderful dinner at the partner restauran,t the Swan right next to Goethe's house.

This was an excellent hotel, perfect location on the market square, and very comfortable rooms. The main gripe was that for a hotel of this style and quality, it's really poor form to be charging extra for in-room internet connections; I'd rather not have to sit in the lobby to send and receive emails after a day of meetings. Other than that, it's a great hotel

Lives up to its fine reputation.

A wonderful hotel in the middle of Weimar. We drove to Weimar and location with parking easy to find with GPS. Friendly and helpful staff. Cosy and comfortable rooms. Only downside is that meal rates, especially breakfast, are outrageous. However, many alternatives around. Only serious complaint is charge for Internet - only hotel that we stayed in where charged. So as Germany makes it into new century, this aspect is being improved, but not uniformly.

Thw Dutch have a saying, \"It's better to stay in the worst room of the best hotel in town than the best room of the worst hotel\"

No doubt about the Chefs abilities but he tries too hard and the food is spoilt by being over fussy.

If you like Art Deco you will love this hotel. Great history, wonderful service. I felt pampered. Ate in the hotel restaurant in the cellar and very much enjoyed it. Breakfast buffet was enjoyable sat outdoors on the patio. Eggs benedict were excellent. At checkout I had unknowingly left a few pieces of clothing in the closet and they were handed to me as I was settling the bill.Town is beautiful, great square, beautiful park.

We stayed one night at the Hotel Elephant, it is a beautiful very old hotel with lots of history. We stayed there because it was close to Buchenwald Concentration Camp and was not too far from Eisenach where we toured Luther's House and the Wartburg. We were surprised at how much we enjoyed walking around Weimar, the Hotel is in front of a Plaza where a market was set up the next day and the bells rang on Town Hall - there were plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Overall, the Hotel staff was very friendly and we really enjoyed our stay there. The walls are a bit thin, but not too bad, we experienced that quite a lot in Germany. Our loveseat and chair in our room were a bit worn and we could not get the internet to work, but I would not let that discourage you from staying. The beds were very nice, we had a nice bath room. The breakfast buffet was very nice as well. Overall, if you are going to spend one night in Weimar, this is a very good choice.

Mein Zimmer war nicht nur komfortabel, sondern bot auch einen atemberaubenden Ausblick.

Der Service war durchweg erstklassig – aufmerksam, freundlich und professionell. Ein besonderes Highlight war der köstliche Kuchen, der mich restlos begeisterte. Und das Frühstück? Einfach ein Traum! Die Vielfalt an frischen, hochwertigen Produkten wurde durch eine eigene Haselnuss-Schoko-Aufstrich- Maschine perfekt abgerundet.

Ein Riesen-Manko. Billigstkopfkissen wie in einer Zwei-Sterne-Absteige.

In Anbetracht der Tatsache, dass man ein Hotel i.e.L. zum Schlafen aufsucht, ein nennenswertes Problem. Das geht in der Liga deutlich besser.

Ruhige Zimmer zum Innenhof. Sehr bequeme Betten. Der Fernsehschrank mit den zwei großen Flügeltüren ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. Frühstück hervorragend, auch das Abendessen. Die Vorspeisen konnten ruhig etwas größer sein. Aber vor allem: Die aufmerksamen und sehr netten Servicekräfte!! Glückwunsch für diese Personalauswahl.

Die etwas sehr magere Ausstattung im Zimmer, z. B. gibt es Bademäntel aber keine Pantoffeln. Und das ist insofern unpraktisch, da das Bad und die Toilette gefliest ist. In der separaten Toilette fehlen die Handtuchhalter, so dass man improvisieren muss, wo man die Handtücher unterbringen kann.Die Minibar geht nur auf Vorleistung und man muss das komplette antialkoholische Getränkeangebot kaufen, obwohl man vielleicht nur Mineralwasser möchte.

Bei der Buchung der Classic-Kategorie kann das Zimmer (z.B. Zimmer Nr. 200) so klein sein, dass das Bett nur von einer Seite erreichbar ist.
Das ist in dieser von uns gewählten Kategorie normal, haben wir auf Nachfrage erfahren.
Als Einzelzimmer sicherlich gut, als Doppelzimmer jedoch eine Zumutung!
Darüber hinaus ist der ELEPHANT ein rundum hervorragendes Haus, in dem man sich sehr wohl fühlen kann.

Wir sind nach der ersten Nacht abgereist,weil wir die Betten wirklich viel zu hart empfunden haben. Zudem gab es kein WLAN,worauf wir angewiesen waren.Die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist minimalistisch. Im Bad habe ich Bodylotion vermisst. Das Restaurant haben wir nicht besucht, es sah sehr ansprechend aus.

Wegen Corona ist es sehr schwierig eine Bewertung abzugeben, da alle Aktivitäten im Hotel und Umgebung darauf ausgerichtet sind. Es gibt eben nicht die Leichtigkeit, die man gerne hätte, verständlicherweise.

Très bien placé. Très propre. Petit déjeuner très cher, 25€/ personne et pas exceptionnel. Fruits pas bons et charcuterie basique.
Parking cher aussi 18€ par jour.

Sehr nettes Hotel mit super Lage

Und hat der Aufenthalt sehr gefallen. Das gesamte Personal war aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Frühstück im Garten war einfach toll. Trotz der Corona Regel herrschte überall eine entspannte Atmosphäre. Das Zimmer war sehr gut ausgestattet und das Bett sehr bequem.
