We selected Ramada by Wyndham Weimar since they offered a swimming pool. Otherwise we would have chosen a hotel downtown of Weimar. However, their swimming pool was not open, in repair, and should not have been listed under their facilities. Very disappointing. In addition, the breakfast was boring, all the same. In addition, one day they did not have scrambled egg, since this was not delivered, but no substitute was offered. The choice of breakfast is good for one-night stay, but not for three nights.

We stayed here while visiting friends in Weimar. The hotel itself is located a short distance (a couple miles) from what I would consider the geographic town center. The Overall condition of the property got disappointing from our last visits in this hotel.
Additional charges for parking and for pool towels were requested.
Room interior was also not at that level which we were used to. Double room booked, only a single glass available mini bar not filled, no nit disturb tag available.

Facilities okay service not too great

Check in wasn’t great. A person with a “security service” / Sucherheitsdienst checked us in and we struggled with our communication. I am German just saying..we got checked into a room where someone was already staying and received a half hearted apology. Upon my return to the reception my registration card was still on the desk so I guess my personal details were up for grabs that day 😲 we tried to order room service but nobody picked up the phone, the in room shirt press was broken but couldn’t be replaced or fixed as we needed to dry a shirt we were at least offered to use the hotel dryer. Room key stopped working 3 times during a 4 night stay. Breakfast was good but very busy. Pool area is very nice. Overall we enjoyed the facilities but service is a bit poor. Checkout was very efficient and friendly though!

Great option if you're traveling by car

We were traveling by car in a big vehicle, so parking was important. This hotel was about what I expected from a Park Inn by Radisson - fairly clean, nice but not too fancy, decent customer service. The building is starting to show its age.

If you're traveling by car, this location is great. It's in a business park several kilometers from Weimar, and has a huge parking lot. If traveling by public transit, it's not very convenient. We would stay there again.

And if you are like us and arrive needing groceries and a laundromat, there is a great Kaufland (with food trucks in the parking lot) just a few km away, and the SB Waschsalon in the center of Weimar is awesome, with good parking and a bakery around the corner.

Nice stop-over hotel

We stayed in this hotel en route from Poland to Belgium. Very nice reception area, some very pleasing features in this hotel. Unfortunately our stay was fairly short, checked in 6 pm and out at 9 am the following day so as unable to use the hotels facilities. But impressed enough to return for a longer stay on our next trip.

Good impression but nor cooling?

After long drive for one day stop it works fine. You get what you expect from Park Inn, and benefit, that you always know what to expect. Simple. That would be the case elsewhere. However during a hot day to reveal you have no air conditioning in all hotel brings one question - whaaat? Of cours, its not the worst point, but would really bring more advantage to hotel.

Good hotel near Weimar city

Hotel is located outside Weimar, near the high-way. It is pet friendly (we were with our husky dog) and many people came with their dogs. Near the hotel is a big field where you can walk your dog.
There is a swimming pool – very nice, sauna (we didn’t tried it).
Rooms are nice, clean, quiet and spacy. One thing that can be misleading is that in hotel description rooms are said to have air-conditioning. We ordered a standard room and when we came staff told us that air-conditioning is available only with higher standard. It was a bad surprise since the temperatures outside reached 35C, but a temperature in the room was acceptable (cooler than outside).
Staff is trying to be friendly but they are not very well trained. Room service works fine.
Distance to Weimar is 5km so you can either go there by car (many parking spots) or by bus (bus stop is in front of hotel). It is a lovely city with a very cool park.

Booked air-con - didn't get it.

It was a priority for us to have air con in the summer in Europe and I booked this hotel for this reason. However, it turned out that all roooms have either air con or a balcony. Ours had a balcony. This was doubly unacceptable as we had two young children and had no way of locking the balcony door.
The hotel flatly refused to do this and also sounded surprised when we pointed out the potential hazard.
Next morning I showed them that their hotel advertised all rooms as with air con and they very grudgingly gave me a 6 euro discount but refused to let me speak with the manager. Throughout, the manner was generally off-hand.
This is the first negative expedia review I have written but did feel the need.

Great for a quick stop

We were driving to Berlin and I was looking for a hotel right off the autobahn. This hotel fit the bill! It is only a couple minutes driving from the autobahn and has plenty of free parking. I booked a room for 4 - 2 adults and 2 children. We had a queen bed and a fold-out mini couch for the kids. The queen bed was so-so for comfort and the pull-out was super small. My kids (ages 5 and 8) both fit, but just barely. They complained about the size and the comfort - it was an all foam couch, not a true sofa bed. It may be worth the extra 20Euro for a roll-away if you have larger kids. We only stopped for the one night so it way ok. I purchased the breakfast with the room and it was totally worth it. It was a full spread and even had hot cocoa for the kids. We did not use any of the pool/sauna facilities. I would stay here again if we were driving this way again, but would order an extra roll-away bed.

A hotel I will never come back

My wife and I stopped by Wiemar on my way to Frankfurt from Berlin and stayed overnight there. The receptionist's attitude was cold and indifferent. We were assigned a room next to the lift chamber and could not sleep whole night because of the noisy running of the lift. The receptionist said the hotel was full and no other room was available. No amenities at all inside room. Mattress was old too.

Nice hotel, but far away from Weimar center

The hotel was quite nice, I have no complaints, but I had not realized that it is far away from the center. If you travel by train as I did, there is a bus that runs every hour. But if you do not understand the system or the geography you might end up in a different village and have to wait 30 minutes to get back to the center and try again.

The hotel has a nice restaurant where I ate every night because the last bus leaves Weimar prper around 8:30 pm

We stayed in this hotel for our trip to and from Berlin. The location was good, near the autobahn but in a quite area. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the kids really enjoy the pool. Also the spa area was nice for us. Breakfast was really good.

be aware that breakfast is not free and it is expensive. It is however, a great hot/cold buffet. You have to pay for internet, furniture old not at 4 starts level. located at 35 minutes from train station and a bus runs every 1h or a taxi at €17/ ride.
Nothing interesting.

I arrived at 1am and decided to cancel my stay after the first night and the night receptionist agreed but next morning I was refused to cancel my stay.
I spent over €70 in transport between Weimar and the hotel in 2.5 days.

We are 2+2 family and we found the hotel quite family friendly.
We really liked the room. It was very clean and comfortable. Swimming pool - great. Breakfast - brilliant! The location was perfect for us (near A4 motorway) as we were on our road trip and needed a nice stopover.

it is a large complex for a european hotel
the swimming pool, sauna and steam room were very inviting after hours in the car
our main purpose to stay in this location was to visit the Buchenwald Memorial
superb accomodations
easy to get to the memorial with our car rental
did not have time to visit the city
breakfast was a bit spendy as it was not included in our room rate - but it was a beautiful breakfast buffet

For the price (50 EUR p double room excl b/f) excellent value for a good business/conference-style hotel. Location is a bit isolated, miles away from the town, but just a stone's throw from the motorway - i.e. very convenient for drivers who, like us, have come a long way (700 km from Vienna) and want something easy to find, park and just relax, before moving on (in our case Buchenwald and on to Erfurt). For visiting Weimar itself, there are much better located hotels.

The Park Inn Weimar exceeded my expectations, the price was very reasonable for the level of comfort. The indoor pool is very nice, as was the restaurant. Most surprising was how quiet it was, even with a front facing room. The surrounding countryside is quite nice and the hotel staff were friendly, courteous and helpful.

I found most of the reviews helpful and fair, and would echo that despite access to public transportation, I would suggest this hotel to those travelling with a personal vehicle. That said there is limited bus and train access, especially on weekends.

One last note, although I didn't specifically see it listed there was an additional 2 Euro per night tax/fee (not the one for wireless Internet).

exactly what we needed

We were driving from Stuttgart to Berlin and Weimar is about half way. We booked and payed in advance and then arrived at 11:30pm. Our room was huge and comfortable room and the staff had already made up the extra bed for our 5 year old son. The room was perfect and breakfast the next morning was great. The hotel is conveniently located right off the highway. We had a great and quiet night's rest.

Zimmer sehr groß und geräumig.
Leider war die Balkontür defekt,und die Nutzung vom Balkon demnach nicht möglich.
Der Stöpsel von der Badewanne war leider nicht dicht,dass Wasser lief beim Baden leider einfach von selbst ab.
Dennoch war es ein sehr netter Aufenthalt gewesen.
Frühstücks Buffet war sehr vielfältig,auch für Veganer*innen großzügige Auswahl vorhanden.
Pool und Sauna Bereich war auch super.

Fint uden at være overvældende

Fint hotel med pool, hvilket er rart efter en lang dag på motorvejen - vi brugte hotellet som pit stop på vej syd på.

Dog var vandet i poolen ret koldt. Værelset havde en fin størrelse med to rum.

Dringend renovierungsbedürftiges Hotel, schwer in die Jahre gekommene Holzmöbel, dreckige Wände und Teppiche überall und das schlimmste war der muffige Geruch in meinem Zimmer, der mich hat nur 4h schlafen lassen.

Frühstück war ganz ordentlich und der Service war auch ohne Beanstandung! Parkplatz war ausreichend groß und gute Anbindung zur Autobahn, dafür aber 15min Fahrt ins Zentrum von Weimar.

Sanierungsstau, sehr heruntergekommen

Leider ist das Hotel in einem Sanierungsstau bereits seit mehreren Jahren. Es ist ein Sanierungskonzept vorgesehen. Der gesamte Wellnessbereich ist extrem lieblos eingerichtet, teils auch ohne Funktion. Wohlfühlen kann man sich in anderen Häusern deutlich besser. Auch wurde die Sauna erst nach mehrfachem Nachfragen (während der regulären Betriebszeiten) gestartet, das Dampfbad allerdings gar nicht. Schimmel ist an vielen Stellen zu sehen. Auf dem Zimmer sind neben Schimmel auch Wasserhahn ohne Funktion, Toilettenspülung ist undicht, Lampen kaputt, Vorhänge zerschlissen. Haustechniker kann erst am nächsten Tag kommen, um die grundlegenden Mängel zu beheben.
Das Essen und der Service in Bar und Restaurant sind in Ordnung, stellenweise sogar überdurchschnittlich.
Vielleicht ist nach der Sanierung das Haus wieder einladend, aktuell ist ein Besuch dort nicht anzuraten.

Unser Reservierung (Zimmer für 2 Erwachsene und ein Kind 15 Jahre) ist nicht im Hotel angekommen. Dort hatte man die Information, dass 2 Erwachsene und ein Baby kommen. Ein Zustellbett konnte uns nicht zur Verfügung gestellt werden, so dass wir ein zweites Zimmer buchen mussten, das extra Kosten verursacht hat. :-(

Wir (1 Erw, 2 Kinder) haben das Hotel als Zwischenstop genutzt und waren begeistert. Das Mobiliar ist in die Jahre gekommen, ABER der Service ist top, das Personal sehr nett, die Essensportionen abends à la carte großzügig und das Frühstücksbuffet hat eine tolle Auswahl. Die Parkplätze sind laut Schildern videoüberwacht, einen schattigen Platz zu bekommen war kein Problem. Der Pool war das Highlight für die Kinder. Wir können es definitiv weiterempfehlen!

weit von weimar entfernt , sehr abgewohnt keine infos auf dem zimmer keine notizmöglichkeiten in der schwimmhalle muss mann sich selber um alles kümern,
für den überzogenen preis....nicht nocheinmal

Bei der Check in habe ich gefragt, ob im Zimmer Tee und Kaffee gibts, aber mir würde gesagt nein oben gibts nichts und ich muss von der Restaurants mir Getränke holen. Nach dem Kauf war ich oben und das gleiche Tee gabs auch for free. Was ich schlecht finde.

Zimmer sehr abgewohnt und nicht das, was ich erwartet habe.
Positiv lange Frühstückszeiten von 6:30 - 10:30 mit ausreichend Ruhe und Platz.

Zum Frühstück gab es nur eine beschränkte einfache Wurst- und Käseauswahl.
Für ein 4-Sterne-Hotel zu wenig.
Es fehlte Lachs, Fischsalat und Bratenaufschnitt.
Die Zimmer und das gesamte Haus sind in die Jahre gekommen.
Die Lage ist 5km von Weimar entfernt.

Die Zimmer waren sauber und komfortabel.
Mit der Nachhaltigkeit und Umweltfreundlichkeit nimmt man es sehr ernst( teilweise):
wenig Licht in der Schwimmhalle,
Keine Informationen über Öffnungszeiten von Schwimmbad und Restaurants im Zimmer
An der Rezeption und auch beim Frühstück kamen wir uns nicht wie willkommene Gäste sondern wie Bittsteller vor.
Es waren zwei Mitarbeitende an der Rezeption aber nur einer war für den Check-in zuständig.
Beim Frühstück haben wir uns an die Empfehlung gehalten und gewartet, denn es gab ja aufgestellten Hinweis: \" Bitte warten, Sie werden von unseren Mitarbeitern an den Platz geführt\".
Als wir dann die Service Mitarbeiterin ,die uns auf der Liste abhakte,fragten ,wo wir denn sitzen dürfen,würden wir ziemlich schnippisch abgefertigt: \" Ist genug Platz\"
Überrascht waren wir auch über die Rechnung:
Die Getränke beim Frühstück werden mit 2 Euro extra berechnet.
Und für den unbewachten dafür dreckigen Parkplatz wird man mit 5 Euro extra zur Kasse gebeten.
