The rooms on the road (square) side are very noisy at night due young people partying there until the wee hours. The oropax provided in the room did not help me very much. I wonder why nobody is doing anything to at least get them to stop at a reasonable time.

We were there to visit Liszt Music School. The location of hotel is in the center of Weimar. Very convenient to walk everywhere. The room was big, high cell, good condition but a little old as all other buildings! Good spirit.

Right in the center of everything, Goethe's house, Liszt's house, the cemetery, etc. When I was there, in front of Goethe's house there was a wine festival, and it was really pleasant to have a few glasses of wine before walking back to the hotel. As some have commented here, depending on the whether, the room can get a little warm. I didn't see mentioned is the small reading room on the first floor. I always find such settings nice. I'm very happy with the hotel.

My stay at Amalienhof Hotel Weimar was very comfortable. There was an English-speaking receptionist most of the time at the front desk. (That I learned to be quite unusual in smaller towns in Germany.) The bed was a bit too short for me, and I am only 175cm. The room was otherwise quite comfortable, but the room didn't have a fridge. Very close (mostly 5 minutes walk) to tourist sites such as Goethes Wohnhaus, Schillers Wohnhaus, Liszthaus, and the cemetery. Free secure wi-fi, and they even let me use it hours after I checked out from the hotel!

This is my 4th time at this hotel and I plan on staying her again in the future. It has a great location within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, cafes and historical sights. the rates are very reasonable and include breakfast, free Internet and parking.

Amalienhof Hotel -- excellent value
The hotel has real old-world charm, the hallways full of beautiful furnishings reflecting the strong literary history of the city. The hotel staff, especially at reception, was exceptional -- seemed genuinely pleased to welcome guests and offer assistance. The room was spacious, nicely furnished, though the street noise left a bit to be desired. Steps from the most famous tourist sites in the town centre. The buffet breakfast was very good, and extra coffee was cheerfully granted. The free, ground-level parking behind the hotel with rear access was convenient. The wireless apparatus must be fetched from the front desk and involves a long cumbersome cord, and the clip on the connector which secures it to the computer was broken. It would be tremendously helpful to give directions to the parking area on the website, or tell car drivers where they can park while they check in. Quibbles aside, this is excellent value.

Hotellet ligger dejligt i forhold til gåture i den fine by. I baghaven er der flere hyggekroge, og på taget er der en skøn tagterrasse med udsigt til byen. Vi nød at få serveret kaffe eller øl i udearealerne. Hotellet er pænt og rent, og personalet meget flinke. Der var varmt da vi boede der, men værelset blev ikke særligt varmt, så vi manglede ikke aircondition

Die Lage ist ausgezeichnet. Man ist innerhalb wenigen Minuten zu Fuß in der historischen Altstadt, im Park an der Ilm. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten schnell und leicht erreichbar. Das Hotel Amalienhof liegt sehr günstig für die Erkundung Weimars. Die Einrichtung ist stilvoll. Auf der Dachterrasse im 2. Stock kann man schön mit Blick auf die Altstadt entspannen. Getränkeservice wird angeboten. Das Frühstück ist sorgfältig zusammengestellt mit regionalen Zutaten, besonders das Brot- und Brötchenangebot hat mir gefallen.Das Bett im Einzelzimmer ist aber sehr klein. Es sieht hübsch aus im Alkoven, aber an Kopf- und Fußende stehen auch noch Möbel an der Seite. Die heißen Sommertemperaturen heizen das Zimmer sehr auf. W-lan ist etwas schwach.

Das Hotel liegt zentral, leider funktionierte das WLAN in unserem Zimmer nicht. Und man konnte erst ab 4.00 Uhr schlafen, da auf dem Platz davor bis zu dieser Zeit das Leben spielte.

Das von mir verbindlich gebuchte Zimmer wurde kurzfristig an einen anderen Gast vergeben; eine Dame, die ihren Aufenthalt noch etwas verlängern wollte. Die Dame sei immerhin Stammgast. Mir wurde ein Zimmer in irgendeiner anderen Unterkunft angeboten, die jedoch keine gleichwertige Alternative darstellte. Habe mir dann selbst eine Übernachtungsmöglichkeit organisiert. Für ein Hotel mag es nachvollziehbar sein, Stammgästen eine Sonderbehandlung einzuräumen. Für mich als 'normalen Gast' war es mit viel Ärger und einigen zusätzlichen Kosten verbunden. Von daher: keine Empfehlung!

Hotel mit gediegenem Charme in sehr guter Lage
Stilvolles Hotel, passend zur klassischen Weimarer Geschichte - welche in Form des Denkmals von C. M. Wieland gleich vor der Tür präsent ist. Parkplatz und WLAN sind inklusive. Alle 3 Etagen sind mittels Fahrstuhl erreichbar, ein umfassendes Frühstücksbuffet ist buchbar. Der Service ist zuvorkommend, ohne gekünstelt oder aufdringlich zu wirken. Besonders erwähnenswert ist die Lage unmittelbar am südlichen Rand des Stadtzentrums, alle Stationen des klassischen Weimars sind füßläufig erreichbar, die beiden Hochschulen ebenso.

Allerdings ist es in der warmen Jahreszeit bei offenen Fenstern sehr laut, da gegenüber ein Studentenwohnheim ist. Zwar liegen Ohropax auf dem Nachttisch, aber wer die so hasst wie ich, kann erst lang nach Mitternacht Ruhe finden.
