This is a good hotel conveniently located right across from the Weimar train station.
The room was fine, what you would expect from a European hotel at this price. The bed though was very uncomfortable. Two twin bed pushed together so there’s a space in the middle. I didn’t sleep very well.

Rooms spacious and clean. Staff was: 1 good and 1 not so good. Parking in back of hotel. Nice city. It was extremely hot in Europe while we were there and this hotel was not air conditioned (as was the case in other hotels, too). They could not provide fans and the maid left the blackout drapes open to sun so room did not cool off all night.

Always check your bills at checkout !

I changed my booking from two persons/nights with breakfast to one person/night with breakfast and at the reception I was told the booking was changed correctly for one person, leaving the hotel I paid, took the bill, at home I looked at the bill and I was changed for 2 persons breakfast, even though the guy at reception knew I was alone, he turned around and said Hotel.com state here that the bill comes to €85, I paid €89. The service itself was good, just that one mistake ( money) puts a different light on it.

Quaint Little Local Hotel @ a Convenient Location

Basically just across the street from Weimar train station, this local hotel is very good for a short stay overall. While its amenities are basic, you cannot beat the location and old-fashioned charm. It has no air conditioning. It is OK for us in early September not sure about the middle of the summer. Internet was slow and spotty at times, barely sufficient for checking emails.

Even though the facility and linens need updates, its friendly staff, good location, and above average housekeeping will make it a pleasant stay. Downtown area (Goetheplatz) is about 10 min walk. There are not much around the hotel nor the station so it is quiet at night for a good sleep. Trains are barely heard from our room.

Perfect for us!

I recently stayed at this hotel with my husband while visiting family in Weimar. The location was excellent for us as it was across from the train station and very close to our family. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient and most spoke fluent English. In particular, Robert, at the front desk was helpful and made us feel welcome. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant so I can't comment on the food but the ambiance looked lovely. Housekeeping staff were timely and competent. The room was clean, the bed comfortable. A few notes travelers may want to consider....the room was warm at night and I'm not sure if there is air conditioning so it could be hot in the summer. (We were on the 3rd floor). Also, although there is a nice television, there are no English speaking channels .... a little news in English would have been nice. It fit our needs but we spent very little time there besides sleeping!

Comfortable, Safe, well located, open late

We paid for 2 rooms, but booked only about 15 minutes before arrive (about midnight). Because they didn't have time to put the 3rd bed into our room they just gave us a 3rd room, for free. We were very tired, but the front desk was kind, helpful, and even gave one of our travelers a toothbrush and paste set because we didn't have bags.

They were open late, accommodating, kind. I couldn't ask for any more especially since we booked so late in the day.

We felt very safe and I would stay here again.

An excellent stay; easy to drop off the luggage as literally across the square from the train station and then a pleasant 20/30 minute walk from the to the city sights. Rooms clean, cosy and well decorated (no English language TV station available). We used the restaurant (Winter Garden) one night and although the buffet is limited, it was very good.

This is literally steps from the train station, making it easy to stop over in Weimar. The bed was more comfortable than most hotels. The room wasn't fancy, but comfort, quiet, convenience, cleanliness and a good breakfast made this a great stop over.

The room was on the small side, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. At check-in you can choose to have breakfast in the morning in the restaurant off the lobby. There was an extra charge for it payable at check-out. If you opt for it, you will be given a green token for each day, which is collected in the morning in the restaurant by one of the women serving coffee. There is a good variety of offerings at the breakfast buffet.

The rooms were good - clean and comfortable, and the staff was nice. The hotel is located in front of a big bus/train station so at times it was a little noisy. Parking in front of the hotel was not cheap (2.5 euros for 2 hours).

- staff seemed unfriendly and didn't readily offer the wifi code. Room was hot and stuffy with no aircon. Very comfortable. Also charged for guest parking which is absurd!

Lovely and clean hotel. Location is excellent, directly opposite the main train station. The shower was very slow to drain - running it for 5 minutes caused it to overflow. We ended up reporting this to reception staff three times, as nothing was done to fix it. No attempt was made to tell us they were unable to fix it, or to offer us another room, or anything.

Weimar - historic town with nice hotel and staff

great location , very polite courteous staff who were professional and able to resolve a blocked shower outlet with great customer service - after a very long hot,humid,trip from Dresden after 9 hours delay at Frankfurt Airport ...having flown from Coventry ....so a decent shower was needed ! a good sign of good customer service is how problems are resolved and turned into something positive ....not sure if the rooms had air conditioning but then we spent a lot of time away on World War 2 research

We found it a very good experience, and great value from start to finish. When everything seems so goid, it's hard to give specifics.

The location about 1 minute's walk across from the Bahnhof was very convenient and strategic. If you aren't arriving by train and prefer to be right in the middle of the oldest part of town, then you might not want this pleasant location, from which it's about 10 minutes' walk to the old market square.

Overall, the hotel had a spacious, clean, comfortable ambience.

Trying to think of negatives, the breakfast was great, although the dinner at night was fine, but unexciting.

We would be delighted to have the chance to stay there again some day.

Close to train station far from city center

This hotel is very close to the train station, making it convenient for train travelers, but this is also quite a distance by foot from the center of the old city, where the Goethe house and other attractions are located. Ask for advice on the buses to the downtown area. Weimar is a great city with many cultural connections.

Great hotel conveniently located opposite the train station. I stayed in a single room which was a lovely size, clean and well equipped with a nice bathroom. First member staff I dealt with was very helpful, friendly and courteous - 2nd member not so nice, she spoke quickly and even though I speak German I couldn't quite understand and she was quite rude when I asked her to repeat her sentence. This is my only complaint. The breakfast was typical German hotel breakfast with a lot of choice. I would definitely stay here again.

A great place to stay in Weimar

The hotel is superbly located, on a pleasant square, directly opposite the main station, and a range of bus stops. It is a leisurely 10 minute stroll into the centre of Weimar. The hotel is well maintained, with a very pleasant atrium, and on site restaurant (with a terrace if the weather is fine). Alternatively, there are numerous restaurants and cafes in town, including a number convniently just around the corner from the hotel on the way down to the centre of Weimar. Breakfast is diverse and plentiful, and conveniently available from 6.30am onwards. There is a bar in the atrium and comfortable chairs to relax. Staff are helpful and efficient. Highly recommended.

Hotel has an excellent location when arriving in Weimar by train. It also has excellent public transportation connections to just about any place in Weimar. Personnel were friendly and helpful (with a bit of prodding). I asked if they sold public transportation tickets and was given the answer that I could purchase tickets on the buses. I then asked if the bus drivers spoke English and that was what it took to get the desk clerk to reach into a drawer and bring out the bus tickets that they had for sale.

Good hotel in beautiful Weimar

Weimar is a very pleasant city with the old world charm. The hotel is probably a 20 minute walk from the center of the city, 10 minutes from the convention center, but across the square from the train station. Weimar is easy to explore on foot. The hotel itself is nice, though some of the staff were not so pleasant. Particularly the blond woman on all the literature who doesn't speak much English and was neither friendly nor helpful. The room was basic, but clean.

A staff charming and helpful above and beyond the call of duty; a perfect location; beautifully-proportioned rooms; delicious meals. I would usually expect to pay twice what the Kaiserin Augusta charged for half the comfort, elegance and convenience. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

The hotel was nice but too expensive for the room. We spend the night before in another hotel in Weimar which had much better rooms at a (much) better rate.
Also no free all around wireless in the hotel available. The only possibility was buying a card at the reception for minimum 20 minutes internet. This expires without warning, great if you are in the middle of a transaction. As the receptionist said:\" We have no option, we have a contract with them.... \"

great hotel in central Weimar

The Hotel Kaiserin Augusta was a charming, clean, and convenient hotel to stay in while I was in Weimar. The only caution I would have for travelers is that not many of the hotel staff speak English, so be prepared with some German phrases or a translation guide. The check in desk clerks did speak English quite well. There is a restaurant and bar on site and also breakfast was included with the room rate. The hotel has parking in the basement and it was easy to get in and out. I found my room comfortable and clean. There was only a shower in the bathroom, as is pretty typical in Germany. I enjoyed my stay very much.

Wir haben nur 1 Nacht wegen einer Konzert im Hotel gebracht. Check-in und Check-out war schnell und einfach. Zimmer war sauber, mit Wasserkocher und Tee. Bahnhof ist gegenüber. Altstadt mit Restauranten ca. 10 Minuten, Weimarhalle ca 5 Minuten zur Fuß. In 50 Meter ein sehr guter Bar. Frühstück war sehr lecker. Personal war nett und hilfreich.

Das essen im Restaurant war sehr lecker, der Preis vollkommen angemessen.
Großes Plus für mich war die Raucherlounge, wo ich als Raucher nicht vor die Tür gehen musste. Auch hier sehr sauber und aufgeräumt.

Das Hotel ist gegenüber des Hauptbahnhofes gelegen. Der Eingang ist barrierefrei gestaltet.
Trotz dieser Nähe zum Bahnhof ist das Hotel ruhig und entspannt. Die Zimmer sind nicht hellhörig und die Fenster bieten eine gute Schallisolation. So war die Kettensäge des Nachbarn morgens um 8 nicht hörbar.
Alle Servicekräfte sind zuvorkommend, freundlich und umsichtig.
Das Frühstück ist für 16 Euro p.P. zubuchbar und bietet eine reichhaltige, kösliche Auswahl.
Negative Kritik habe ich nach ca. 3 Tagen Aufenthalt nicht.

Prima nette kamers, alleen de ene kleiner dan de ander. En warm snachts, geen airco alleen raam kon open maar dat leverde weer veel buiten lawaai op. We hadden de 2 kamers tegelijk geboekt, nr 1was groter en had een koelkastje en waterkoker. En nr2 was kleiner en had geen verdere voorzieningen. Terwijl de prijs het zelfde was.

Rent og pent hotell nært jernbanestasjonen, men uten aircondition. Ble veldig varmt om natten, men åpent vindu ble vi forstyrret av bråk fra gaten. Vi fikk rom 323 som lå ut mot bussholdeplassen ved jernbanestasjonen. Forsøkte ikke frokostbordet da den var dyr.

Der Empfang war bereits unfreundlich, als ich lediglich fragte, ab wann ich einchecken kann. Beim tatsächlichen Check-in dann kaum freundliche, willkommen heißende Zugewandtheit. Das Personal wirkt, als wäre es nicht mit dem Herzen dabei.

Zimmer und Bad doch recht eng, ordentlich, doch nüchtern eingerichtet.

Beim Auschecken fragte der Rezeptionist, wie es uns gefallen hat. Ich antwortete, dass ich mir für den Preis auch eine Flasche Wasser auf dem Zimmer hätte vorstellen können (keine Reaktion seinerseits) und dass ich es als eng empfand. Seine Antwort: \"Die 317 ist eins unserer größten Zimmer.\" Meine Frage ist - warum fragen Sie die Gäste, wie es gefallen hat, wenn es Sie nicht wirklich interessiert?

Ich habe wirklich schon bessere Hotels besucht. Nein, muss nicht noch einmal sein.

The location is perfect for the first time visitor to Weimar. You can see the hotel from the Bahnhof. The city center is about 15 minutes walk. Receptionist had a good information about the sightseeing sights and public transportation. The room was not very large, but it was clean and there were enough furniture. The breakfast buffet had enough variety.
I could enjoy the stay very much.

Sehr freundliches, nettes Hotel. Ich war nur kurz dort, aber der Empfang und das Auschecken waren nett und problemlos. Bei genauerem Hinsehen war das Zimmer nur relativ sauber, aber im Rahmen. Die Lage ist sehr gut, aber nicht sehr ruhig - auf dem Bahnhifsvorplatz war schon bis in due Nacht Bewegung. Trotzdem für mich alles okay uns stimmig.

Die Freundlichkeit beim Checkin ist ausbaufähig. Nach der Begrüßung wurde lediglich lapidar gesagt, dass der Checkin erst 15Uhr möglich sei. Die Dame war nie daran interessiert, eine andere Lösung zu finden.
Der Rest war in Ordnung, aber wie schon oft geschrieben, etwas ungepflegt und lieblos.
