This property could really be a gem. The water view is wonderful. The room itself has zero charm. Oddly enough, the staff at the front desk feels the exact same way. Not rude. Not overly pleasant, but disconnected. It feels sterile like being in a very nice hospital room. All it needs is someone with an eye for design to make it feel warm and welcoming.

The staff is great but there is nothing to do there besides laying on the lounges in front of a small swimming pool (looks bigger on the pictures). The amenities are in bad condition, the pool table is useless, pool sticks don’t have the tip, they are chopped. Gym very, VERY basic, overall the property is outdated and there is dust in the lobby.

This hotel was located beautifully on the shoreline in Paracas, and was a short 5-10 mins walk into the town centre. The rooms were spacious and clean and modern.
My only small gripe was the water was only lukewarm in the morning which at 6am was not great.

Unfortunately very few staff speak English especially at front desk. There was no direction as to how to get your room cleaned. Housekeeping does not have a key therefore our room was not cleaned. We had to ask for water in the room which is a must as you do not drink from the tap. The pool was long but the birds like to swim in it so I do t trust the cleanliness. The view was pretty but there are no chairs on the beach which is on the shores of a marina . Overall I would not stay again. I thank management for trying to rectify our concerns on the last day

Desde que hemos llegado no ha parado de hacer diferentes problemas. El baño en un estado pésimo, la cama super incomoda y me dijo el colchón. Se escucha todo de las habitaciones contiguas. Recently, I decided to take a couple days of vacations and I went to Paracas to the San Agustín hotel, the services was extremetly Poor I do not recommmend this place for nothing, they gave me a room with not air conditioner and the Pool was disgusting.

We were 5 and when we arrive the hotel they said they don’t have any room available. When we showed our booking they said they have only one room the something on system is wrong, they expect us to leave but we explained we already planed our holiday so they wanted to check again. After they showed us a room which was not suitable for three people. Then we asked them to cancel our booking then suddenly rooms appeared. The made us wait more then one hour in reception. The rooms was not clean or comfortable. There were not towels in the room we had to ask for them but they just bring two we had to ask again. It was like a joke.

Front Desk horrible. It took 45 minutes for checking in. They mixed up al our paperwork, even the manager was unable to help.
Finally we were charge 18% local taxes even after we showed that we were american citizens.
I DO NOT recommend this hotel.

All in all an ok hotel for the money, but in my opinion it would ned to shape up a bit. Interiors need to get more cozy, and pool needs more attention.. more birds than people in there.. as well as the beach would need a good cleaning. Other than that, good. Service minded people working there, that's good!

I loved the pool, it wasn't deep or heated but the water temperature was wonderful once I jumped in. (note I was swimming in the evening!) It was right on the beach and so easy to walk over to the center of town. The breakfast was also excellent with lots of variety.

Great location and nice ammenities. Beach is at your doorstep and a nice swimming pool is available for use as well as pool and table tennis. The hotel is also located right across from the main bus terminal which is excellent upon arrive - no need for a cab!

The good: The hotel was very nice overall, although they could use an elevator for the guests to use. The bed and room was very clean when we first arrived. Water pressure and temperature was fantastic. The view from our room was amazing, it was just too bad the weather didn't want to cooperate. Our room service food was decent, but nothing to write home about. The gate security is very secure, they do a great job keeping track of who comes in and out of the resort.

The bad: The bartender was super rude when we first arrived and flat out refused to make the drink we wanted. Next to none of the staff really attempted to communicate in English even though we were doing our best with our limited Spanish, so it was very difficult to communicate over the phone and in person. To order the room service they had to send someone up to the room so that we could point at the items on the menu and even then the order came out wrong. When we needed a wine opener, it was a 20 minute conversation of misunderstanding (hilarious the first time, annoying the second). We got sand on the bed from dune bugging (totally our fault) but when we requested new sheets while we were out they just came and remade the bed instead of changing it and didnt bother to clean up any of the sand. The buffet breakfast left much to be desired (one morning there was chicken nuggets) and there were flies EVERYWHERE!!! Very off-putting.

No comment: It was too cold to try the pools and we didnt try the game rooms.

I liked the staff and how quickly they moved me into a new room when the original room was between two loud families. Would be nice if they cleaned their beach a bit more, there was quite a bit of garbage washed up on the water. Seems to me that if they could send staff to chase the seagulls away from the pool every 3 minutes they could send someone to clean up the beached garbage once a day.

We were given a room on the third floor and there is no elevator. We were not told there is no elevator and it is a 4 star hotel.
I suggest the bar area should be redecorated to have more ambiance as well as the restaurant. They could be much nicer without investing a lot of money. We went to other hotels for dinner both nights and Paracas has a few restaurants options to go.

Not recommended due to multiple bad experiences.

We had a bad stay. The hotel could not find our reservation even though we had booked it sixteen hours earlier. When we checked into the room we could not use the bathroom. The taps ran eith water tht was yellowish and the bathtub had reddish brown almost blood like water running. We tried to get help but the operator as well as the service personnel could not converse in any English. The person sent to fix the problem came with no tools. Worse he used our clean clothes to wipe what he called \"dirt\" (suize) from the bath tub. When it was pointed out he chuckled. So we asked him to leave.
We tried calling the main desk but got no help as no one could understand us. We asked for someone who could speak English and were told no one was available.
So we went to sleep as it was mid night by now. An hour into our sleep someone came and started banging on our door. There is more but no point hashing all the details of a really bad experience.
This is not a place where i would recommend one book for special events based on my experience.

In photos the hotel, the pool and the beach all look lovely. In reality the beach is filthy, the pool is cold and has lots of bird poop in it, and although the hotel itself is nice, it’s somewhat run down and needs some maintenance. Also, I sear at the juice they serve is from concentrate, as opposed to the freshly squeezed juices that were served everywhere else we visited in Peru. Overall, this hotel and beach were a big disappointment. I wouldn’t stay there again.

Beautiful rooms all with a nice view. Rooms were clean. Food and beverage though was a bit of a mess. The lounge / bar area... you can't sit in it as the TV is blasting so loud... its like putting a loud club in a quiet restaurant. Lack of understanding of ambiance. Ordered two glasses of wine from room service to watch the sunset... never came. Sit by the pool... staff inside all chatting with each other but don't come out and check if you want food or drink. Twice had to go in and get someone... after waiting 1/2 an hour. All the time, dirty dishes sitting out by the food. Again, staff chatting in a group inside. Breakfast was the biggest mess. They couldn't keep up with the buffet. The scrambled eggs... undercooked. There shouldn't be a pool of liquid in the scrambled eggs if fully cooked. They set a bunch of tables of 6. People sit down... use some of the spots... they pick up the dirty and don't reset. You just walk around, try to find a seat with enough spots. Might be resolved with some sort of food and beverage leadership on the floor.

Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Not worth the money. No lift and no offer to carry bags up to third floor. Shower was leaking. Very slow with check in and would not allow early check in. Did not care that people waited 30 minutes. Restaurant was very good and pool was nice. I would recommend avoiding a night in Paracas if possible.

We had a pleasant stay! There's only one main road so everything is walkable, but this hotel was a little further. I think the overall hotel was nicer though, much larger than others and had a game room. Unfortunately the pool was under construction when we were there (but it was winter). Room was cozy and clean. Breakfast had tons of options and the hotel restaurant had a great view of the water.

Not worth the price

I've stayed at several of the other Paracas hotels and wanted to try this one. It was ok -- but next time I will stay elsewhere. Several problems -- no lights around the pool area at night (I wanted to walk near the beach -- other nearby hotels were well lighted but here, nothing). Also -- it was difficult to get into the bath tub/shower -- no bath mat for slippery floor, no hand towels, no grab bar to aid getting into tub, etc. In fact, I've been in two and three star hotels that had much nicer bathrooms and facilities. Thus not worth what I paid. I've stayed twice at the Aranwa next door -- its much nicer.

Somewhat upscale hotel, but thinly staffed.

Plusses - secure location with outside security gate for entry. Big, convention friendly looking hotel. Good breakfast buffet. Great view of the bay, and huge outdoor pool that would be great in warmer weather.
Negatives - their computer system couldn’t check us in properly, so they gave us keys, and asked me to return to the reception again in 10 minutes to complete the check in. Did that with no problem. Then returned to the room and noticed that we needed an extra blanket, as our room had 2 separate beds, but only one spare blanket in the closet. (We stayed in their winter.) After waiting 20 minutes, I went to the reception desk, and they apologized for the delay, and went to an unoccupied room to get the other blanket.
It seemed to me that they needed more staff, and perhaps the owners were trying to save money. The attitude of the help was good, just not enough of them to give prompt service.
No elevators. We had a third floor room. (Only a hassle for luggage, but strange to have a hotel this large with no elevator.)
Had some kind of mechanical noise outside one wall of our room that woke me up at 5am.
A little far from the main town center where most of the hotels and hostels are.

This is a lovely hotel in a quiet location with a good restaurant. I especially enjoyed the sea views from my room as well relaxing by the swimming pool which overlooks the seaside. Extended my stay just for extra time by the pool.

Great property at a good rate. Staff couldn't verify our prepaid Travelocity res at checkin but went ahead and checked us in. After I found an email confirmation, they resolved it.
Nice restaurant, open late for dinner and a good breakfast buffet included. The hotel appeared to be frequented by many bus tours. We hopped off PeruHop here (they were kind enough to drop us here at 10pm even though their only usual stop in Paracas is a 10 minute walk from this hotel, in the village center). The next morning for our Paracas Explorer boat tour and departure on PeruHop, we easily walked to the hostel / baggage storage / pick-up location downtown. Other boat tours left from the pier right by this hotel.
Other reviews complained of no AC remote. We were given the remote upon check-in and the room was very comfy with a patio overlooking the ocean (which isn't swimmable there).

Don't trust any price listings from this hotel!!

The beach at the hotel is not too clean and nice, and so isn't the seawater there. The hotel staff is in general friendly. BUT! Don't book this hotel if you are booking as an international traveler, and want to stay there with a friend or girlfriend from Peru with an Peruvian citizenship!! They will charge you 19% additional tax for your stay when you check in, only because you are staying with an local! My Peruvian girlfriend have never ever heard about a tax like this before, so you cannot trust the price this hotel list anywhere, and they will not inform you in advance about this either!! This additional 19% tax charge is the stupidest tax I have ever heard about and have ever experienced at any hotel in the whole world, and I consider it as they are cheating their customers!!!

Two blocks from center of Miraflores and a $3.00 Uber ride to central Lima. Airport pick up was $24.00 for a private car that they prearranged. If you want clean basic lodging this is your place. Check out is 1 pm and they hold your luggage if needed.

Rude and deserve to lose a star or 2

Staff were rude and not helpful. WiFi only works on the main area and weirdest thing happen... they want to keep the AC controller with them after they turned on the AC. After we moved the room closer to main lobby and ask for the controller so we can control our temperature. They were extra rude after we asked to move closer to the main area

Good location, Good pool

A short walk to the main \"tourist attractions\" and boat rides to Isla Ballestas this is well situated and clean. Private carpark so if you decide to drive there is no need to stress about your car as well.

Hotel San Augustin Paracas - ICA

Well kept hotel, great staff, very helpful (they booked me a guide within minutes of me asking) and warm. The restaurant is family oriented and offers good food. Breakfast was quite nice. The local area is nice and there are a few nice restaurants. The pool is quite awesome. The room is nice but without frills. This is a family place, not a lovers getaway place. Overall recommended.

Not having air conditioning in a stuffy room is bad, they did have them but they did not work, Room had cracks in the wall. No screens on window, no English spoken, food was not good

Beautiful view and great hotel

Considering there is nothin else to do in Paracas, this hotel was a saving grace. It has a huge pool and beautiful views of the ocean. Food is great too. There is an onsite gym and ping pong table too.

Nice place in an interesting little town that allows access to the Islas Ballestas and Natinal Reserve de Paracas.
