The noise in this hotel is unbearable and unfortunately overshadowed everything else. By 1.30am I had tried everything and asked reception about when the noise would stop & was told \"no longer than another hour\". Completely unacceptable. If you have a rooftop terrace, then after midnight ensure your patrons & staff taking girls up use the elevator and not the stairs past rooms where people are sleeping. It also sounded like furniture being dragged going on in the room mine above until 3am. I asked the booking agent to speak to the hotel about refunding my second night but they refused then hung up on her! I left anyway and the receptionist tried to blame the music from the pub on the the parallel street...sorry but no. Can 100% recommend Pepito Palace the next street over though, amazingly comfortable bed & pillows, and QUIET! If you want your terrace to be a disco,at least mention this on your site so people can make a choice not to book with you.

We were given the economy room which was small, old, depressing and according to the owner needed remodeling. Bathroom was very small, the fan was very noisy.Water for showering was barely warm. View was far from courtyard view, as it was mentioned during reservation.It faced the back facade of another building with fixtures.Some of the staff were unfriendly, including an old gentleman, possibly the owner and a young girl, thin with long hair. Wifi wasnt working, in the room or in the property.they attributed it to the weather.rain??? Coffee at breakfast room was from vending machine. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

The Hotel is very well placed in a quiet side street 5 mins walk from the town beach and close to the Duomo. The Hotel is traditional. The room was clean with good air con. The bed was comfortable. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was OK but could have had a bit more choice and better stocked.

This is a decent hotel for the price, while a little dated, it was clean and the location is excellent. The family that run the hotel are friendly and helpful. The hotel is a 5/10 minute walk from the beach (depending on which part of the beach you plan to visit) and it is centrally located for all the restaurants / bars. The building has a terrace on the roof with some nice views so it is nice to sit there with some drinks in the evening. I would re-visit.

The bed was very uncomfortable. Also the room window was facing some scalfolding in a pit, not a courtyard as it says. Mini Fridge barely working, it took overnight to cool the water. Breakfast was fine basic stuff like eggs, croissants, coffee, fruits, though when ran out of juice it took around 10min to refill. Very central location, friendly staff. Safe to leave things. Modern lock mechanisms and you can open the door from your bed also lights, except central light doesn't work. Clearly they saved on the art work :)

Hotel within walking distance for all Cefalu amenities. In the hub of things but generally quiet within the hotel. Nice rooftop terrace to enjoy evening sun. Staff were all very pleasant and keen to make sure guests were happy. Breakfast was sufficient enough to start the day. We had triple room which was a bit small but no problem to us. All in all would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Cefalu.

Brilliant location in the old town.

Enjoyed the hotel as it was in the old town, close to the cathedral and the beach. Lovely restaurants and bars close by. Took a bus to Castlebuono for a day out and the train station was within walking distance.
Only disappointment was that I stupidly left some clothes behind in the hotel which I asked them to return, but they were not prepared to pay the postage on this, and although I offered to pay it was all too complicated.

Great location and quick check in. In the heart of the old twin with quick access to beach and restaurants everywhere.
Could hear crowd and traffic noise from street below as street was narrow and echoing with tall buildings. ‘‘This was acceptable due to position but rooms were badly soundproofed and one sleepless night a television in the next room was left on overnight so loud that we couldn’t sleep at all. My husband got up and located the night porter who refused to act on said noise saying the occupant would be sleeping and shouldn’t be disturbed! So one whole night without sleep for two of us.
Choice of breakfast food very poor.

Nice good value hotel

Hotel is in pedestrianized area of Cefalu so you have to pull your suitcases to it. It is also a few rows away from the sea. Nice hotel. Décor might be a bit dated with the dark wood, but it is well maintained. There is a lovely roof terrace with views in all directions. Good breakfast.

Great location in town, steps to cathedral, shopping and restaurants. For parking we were directed to a lot 15 min walk away. For few hours the pedestrian area is open for cars hardly according thousands of shoppers in narrow streets that barely fit a car.

Lovely little hotel 3 mins from the beach.

If you are used to and want a big swanky hotel with a pool and all the trimmings and you dont mind paying way over the odds then this hotel is not for you. If however you want a nice clean room, friendly staff and a really good location at a reasonable price then read on. This hotel is right in old Cefalu and I thought it was quite charming. No pool but who needs one when the beach is 3 minutes away. All the rooms are reasonably kitted out with air conditioning and shower etc. If you want a view you can go upto the roof terrace. Excellent location for everything in Cefalu. As its just me the B&B style of this hotel suited me perfectly as I like to go out and sort my own meal out in the evening and dont want to be tied down to a resort hotels meal schedule. The staff are really kind and friendly, would and probably will go there again.

I had a wonderful experience during my 3 nights at this Hotel.
I arrived on a Monday afternoon and the staff were very accommodating with regards to upgrading my room so I had a balcony and a small view of the sea. The elevator was wonderful and very rare to find in the older buildings.
The bed was very comfortable and my bathroom had a large shower ....with plenty of hot water.
Overall I had a very comfortable stay.

When I first arrived, I found the bathroom to be particularly not clean. I notified this to the staff, who checked and then offered me a voucher for a breakfast the next morning. Other than that, the bed was comfortable and the hotel is located in the middle of the old town. The staff were also friendly.

Friendly reception staff. Comfortable room, and we were offered a choice of a quiet room at the back or one with a balcony at the front, we chose the front and it wasn't very noisy, especially with the windows closed and air-con on. Lovely shower. No restaurant on site but you can pay 5 euros for a voucher to go to a cafe overlooking the cathedral for breakfast, which was fine. About a minute from the beach, and right next to everything else (Cefalu is very small!).

Great location in downtown Cefalu. 10 minutes to the beach, 2 minutes to downtown restaurants and Cathedral, and 20 minutes from harbor. Room service every day, though not extremely thorough. Unfortunately, their is no longer a restaurant \"attached\" to the hotel. Their \"breakfast\" option is buying a coupon to a nearby cafe for 5 euros to get 1 croissant and 1 expresso… not really a breakfast. The nearby bakery is a much better option.

Very close to beach in centre of historic old town, this hotel exceeded my expectations. On the principle that you get what you pay for it's small, no fantastic views except on the roof but very clean, pleasant, comfortable in a simple basic way. Our bathroom and shower were very small but we got a double bed and a single for two. The only pain is that they don't serve breakfast. Otherwise recommended.

Location was very good and you central to anything you'd want to visit in Cefalu. However the flip side of this is parking. It would be very difficult to drive to the hotel's street as it is in a maze of narrow streets. We parked some distance away in a quite large parking field near the main beach. 5 euros for 12 hrs in May. I didn't feel comfortable with leaving the car in such a vulnerable place The hotel offers garage parking at a price but I wouldn't want to attempt getting to it in hire car. Pretty much all the cars there show scrapes. Interesting town to wander round but if you have a car give it a miss.

Located in the center of the old part of town on a very narrow limited access street. No parking No breakfast and a tiny crowded room. The bed was old and sagged. No facilities. The price was way too high for the off season I would never stay here again - the hotel charged an exorbitant fee for our vehicle and a very long walk with luggage. Cefalu was a spectacular town but there were many nicer more reasonably priced accommodations.

The Hotel is located in the heart of the tourist district with great access to everything. Rooms are clean and well appointed.
The one problem we had was that guests were smoking in their non-smoking rooms and the hotel staff could not control it.
If you have a problem with sleeping while the smell of smoke is filtering into your room, don't stay there.
Also, they offer a 5 euro voucher for breakfast in the main piazza. Skip it and go to the bar on the corner...much better value.

Spacious, wonderful location

Fabulous access to the beach at the end of the street! Dive off the port, or relax on the sand without the larger crowds further along the shore (rocks separate you from the rental lounges and beach bars, families with small children may also appreciate the near non-existent tide here). Cathedral nearby, too. Single room was very large, lots of quality furniture storage, with a wide wheelchair -accessible bathroom (despite the room itself being 5 steps down from the hotel lift). Only street noise was at 6 a.m., and lasted only 10 minutes. A/C defaulted to 18C, but certainly wasn't that cool--just kept the room comfortable. Negatives: room was slightly dim, beds a little short, and only one power outlet that I could find.

I was very happy with the location of La Giara, and the room was comfortable and very well maintained. My only criticism was the decor! There were a lot of dark wood fittings in a fairly small room, including over-the bed cupboards etc. It certainly put me off at first and made the room oppressive. They really need to redecorate and make the rooms more cheerful. That said, it's in a great location and was also quiet at night.

Best place to explore the familiar Cefalú

The hotel is in a superb place, in the middle of the beutiful old town. The staff was really helpful and nice. They have cleaned the bathroom every day. Best price for its value in Cefalú. The roof terrace was amazing, with a 360 panorama!
We parked free at the port, which was 10 minutes away by foot.

Was a bit worried given the reviews on trip advisor but hotel was perfect for our needs. Clean, secure with helpful stuff. Moments from the beach on a quaint street close to wonderful restuarants. A nice roof terrace provides an opportunity jut to chill out and overlook the ocean.

The hotel was nice. The room was large with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was small. Getting in and out of the shower was a tight squeeze, but keep in mind I do need to go on a diet. The people at the front desk had limited English skills, but were very nice and helpful. Thank goodness the air conditioner worked so well because it was hot in Cefalu. Also it was centrally located to all the must see sights in Cefalu. I would definitely stay there again.

Great Location!

a quick walk from the train station, it was easy to get to! It is smack dab in the middle of a quaint street...one way you get the sea, another you get the bustling main street. The AC in the room was superb...the room itself wasn't very contemporary but was clean. we got a view of an alley, so, so much for our \"balcony\"...

the staff was lovely. the elevator worked well. the bathroom was huge...amen!

Abbiamo fatto fatica per la prenotazione ma h.hotel risolve ogni problema (grazie) e devo dire menomale che ho insistito nel voler andare in questo hotel La giara, tanta gentilezza, cortesia, e disponibilità nell'accoglierci e di Cefalù, ci siamo subito innamorati, una cittadella così vivace alle 23:30 siamo riusciti a cenare. La stanza molto carina e confortevole, siamo saliti in terrazza c'è una bellissima vista sul mare, ottima ed abbondante la colazione nella saletta ristorante, anche questa molto curata, con una bella cantina di vini peccato che il poco tempo a disposizione non è bastato per assaggiare la loro cucina....ma torneremo!!

In the middle of everything

A nice little hotel right in the middle of everything, a little bit old but still working for a night sleep. The breakfast was OK but the coffe could be better and the noice in the breakfastarea was loud. Kind friendly and helpfull staff. Paid parking close to the hotel. Rooftop dining area.
