Absolutely wonderful. This property is beautifully kept, the furnishings newly redone and everything simply elegant. Our room was large and clean; nothing fancy but super comfortable with a private terrace and lovely view down to the ocean. The hotel's separate beach property was a great addition - allowing you to have a access to a private beach with a bar and shade and shelter if you want it. But the most amazing was the staff. All of them were friendly, engaged and super helpful. This is a fantastic place to stay on Nevis - small, intimate, and a throwback to an older, simpler Caribbean. We will be back!

This is a beautiful resort with a terrific view of Nevis and the Atlantic Ocean. The facilities are are awesome with much attention to historical and architectural features with manicured lush grounds. Most impressive though was the gracious and friendly staff. The staff was responsive to every request and easily facilitated all of our activity plans. Mandy was our special assistant throughout our stay. Just a pleasure visiting with her. All in all a great experience.

This is an extremely well run hotel, with a great staff team and lots of special touches. It is in a very peaceful and attractive location with a large pool and offers a shuttle bus to the hotel beach. All meals were delicious. Would highly recommend.

By far one of the nicest places I have stayed. The grounds are stunning, the staff are the nicest people, and the food is fantastic. Set on a hill in Nevis, the views are just beautiful, we were lucky enough to have a room with a balcony facing the sea. The complimentary breakfast choices are so good - excellent options are available and with complimentary afternoon tea and choicy lunch/dinner menus, you will never go hungry here. There are some lovely walks in the area, including the Botanical Gardens, which are worth the short stroll. There is a shuttle bus to the hotels private beach, this too is worth a visit or two, has cocktails on tap and if your feeling hungry you can have the hotel make you a packed lunch or walk two minutes to the restaurants in the area. We will be back - it was a very easy journey over from Antigua. Loved, loved, loved Montpelier!

This is undoubtedly the most relaxing holiday I’ve ever had. The staff couldn’t do enough to help but weren’t intrusive, the position is perfect and it has its own private beach complete with changing facilities and bar.the food is excellent and we didn’t go anywhere else our entire stay to eat. Wonderful place and we will be back

Fantastic hotel, set in beautiful grounds with a pool and tennis courts. A short drive away you have access to arguably the best beach on the island with a bar and amenities. We loved our time here and would thoroughly recommend.

Gorgeous, relaxing, laid back atmosphere; beautiful spaces, great hospitality and unexpected treats. Only 18 rooms so very private and personalized. Quiet location on a hillside far from the busy town - another world surrounded by nature. Loved every minute.

The property is beautiful, the flowers in the gardens, the lizards, the hummingbirds, the nightime frog serenade were all amazing. The rooms were very comfortable and the food was excellent. The staff are the best thing about the place - charming, friendly and helpful. We dined in the old sugar kiln and the service and food were second to none.

We had an amazing visit! Truly wish it had been longer. The fresh flowers in the room and a hand written welcome note was a lovely way to start our holiday. Some of the most beautiful grounds and every space is decorated beautifully! They assisted in helping with transfers, cabs and our waterfall hike. It was a wonderful visit! Special thanks to Mandy, Asheena, Leslie, Kaddy, young male bartender and Giovanna for always knowing our names, greetings us with a smile, mixing tasty cocktails and mocktails and for telling us about the grounds, history of the island and sharing what a magical place it is. I almost forgot Cosmo- the best resort dog/a real good boy!

The Montpelier Plantation and Beach Hotel is set in lush, landscaped grounds and made up of historic stone and wood buildings, with accommodation being twin bungalows with verandahs dotted around the property. We found all the staff to be exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The room we stayed in for 4 nights, was very generous in size with a large bathroom. Fridge, kettle, coffee maker, cold water and other ameneties were supplied. We visited in mid November and were very comfortable sleeping with ceiling fan only and the window louvres open. Everything worked and the bed was very comfortable. However, after 2 peaceful nights when the next door room was unoccupied and the only noise at nighttime and early morning was the crickets, birdsong and further off donkeys braying, the quiet of our room was disturbed by the noise of the outdoor unit of the adjoining room's AC, which was placed directly beneath our bathroom window and next to our verandah. I would highly recommend that the hotel try to relocate that AC unit, as the noise was really quite intrusive (room 2).

We attended my aunties wedding at Montpelier and then checked in a few days later to celebrate my birthday and the staff were incredible.
Even when we were visiting in the run up not as hotel guests kaddy made us feel right at home making us look forward to our stay!

Montpelier is always a highlight of my Nevis trips but this was the first time staying and I’ll definitely be back! Thank you kaddy and all the lovely ladies that checked us in and created an incredible wedding day for my auntie.

It was a smooth check in upon our arrival and the receptionist gave us a brief tour of the hotel. The entire staff was warm and friendly. Great customer service. Just one flaw, we ate dinner on one night and it was just okay for our tastebuds. However, our overall stay was incredible and we will definitely stay there again.

The staff was extremely friendly and took the time to know every guest’s name. The property was beautiful, tranquil and well taken care of. The monkeys were fun to see running around. The off site beach was fun with covered areas to escape the sun and a bar tender on site. I hope to return!

Montpelier is a piece of Paradise. Everywhere you look is a feast for the eyes. Beautiful, calming, luxurious and as comfortable as a cloud. We have been back one week and have already made reservations to go back. The food, the staff, the room, the view, the pool, the beach - everything was miles beyond our expectations.

Not quite what we expected given the price and previous reviews. Main issue was a multitude of barking dogs and the windows with mesh did not block out the sound. Manager dealt with complaint very professionally and we left a day earlier. I suspect that given the average age of residents, most would not hear the noise through the night.

A Lovely Getaway

I stayed at Montepelier with three girlfriends for a golf and hiking trip on Nevis. We had a wonderful time. The hotel was a perfect base of operations for all of our activities. The staff was lovely and went out of their way to ensure they had gluten-free toast for me at breakfast and cake at tea time. They helped us arrange taxis and reservations for all of our activities. The main building, formerly the boiling room of a sugar plantation, is beautifully decorated and comfortable. The property is beautiful and lush with views over the ocean and a lovely pool. We also ate some lunches and a dinner at the hotel and all the food was great. It was a lovely getaway and I will totally go back!

My wife and I stayed at the Montpelier after having stayed at the Nisbet several times. The Montpelier was wonderful. The location is up on the island so the views are impressive. The private beach is very nice and within easy walking distance of a charming beach restaurant. The rooms are basic, but the overall property is delightful. The staff is outstanding. The food is outstanding. Can't wait to go back.

Simply gorgeous boutique property with the overall best service and overall hospitality of anywhere we’ve ever stayed in the Caribbean including BVIs, Turks, Barbados, etc. Kids loved the pool. Restaurant 750 excellent and complimentary breakfast and afternoon tea and cake. Loves the private beach and BBQ and burger nights with live entertainment. Owner Muffin and staff most notably Abi and Mandy couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodative. Hope to return someday and recommend wholeheartedly.

I highly recommend Montpelier. Great food; beautiful property and facilities; and wonderful service by the entire staff. Abigail at the front desk was especially helpful when I was in a pinch. I hope to return to Nevis and stay at Montpelier again soon!

You should know that the private beach is not very close to the hotel, though there is a shuttle that takes guests from the hotel to the beach around 10am and returns around 3:30 or 4pm. Your trip to the beach has to fit with that schedule, unless you want to pay $20+ USD for a taxi each way.

I had an amazing time at Montpelier. From arrival to departure, the hotel staff was really accommodating and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. The private beach was really cool and restaurants served delicious food. I would definitely come back and stay at Montpelier.
