It’s not bad, so don’t take the 3* as bad necessarily. The room and property itself is fine, a bit outdated, but decently sized and perfectly functional. The staff were also kind and helpful. Mainly 3 stars because I think it’s overpriced for the location and the hotel age. It does have an onsen and free breakfast, so those are positives, but I noticed some of the residents can be noisy, and I think they host some sort of club or meeting for the Kyoto University students nearby, which can be a bit disruptive. It is also a 20 minute walk from the closest station, and also a 15 minute walk to the closest convenience store/drug stores. There’s a 24hr grocery across the street, but they’re pretty limited in their ready to eat meals, so you’ll probably have to walk a bit to get to anything. I know the hotel does offer a shuttle service to/from Kyoto station, but they only run certain hours and I did not use it, so I can’t comment on that service. Overall, it’s not bad, but for the price I think there are better options both in location, and modern convenience with hotel amenities

The breakfasts were wonderful in variety, always warm, and the variety of beverages was great. The staff was very friendly and really looked after us. Everything was always clean and the staff was very welcoming. Being located next to the Rabbit Shrine was an unexpected delight.
I just wish we could have had a double bed.

It was great , but in the end I was about 10 minutes late to get out of the room. The Frond desk called me to enhance my leave in 10 minus, which I was thinking anyway. The tone of his talk was a bit forceful as if I was not leaving the rightful matter. Considering I paid in full when I got in the previous day, I thought they were rude, which I told them.

Hotel was quite nice. Easy enough to get to and free shuttle to Kyoto station was good. The problem is the hotel has very thin walls and you can hear talking from the rooms next door as well as noise from above and below. The laundry service is very expensive so they should have self use laundry facilities. There are a lot of tour bus tours coming through so constantly busy and loud. Lastly, Expedia says they show the final cost of the stay however when checking out you are charged an additional tax per day (400¥) of your stay, whilst it’s not an exorbitant amount it would be good to know up front or for Expedia to tell you about this. Despite the above we’d still stay here again.

The rooms are a bit bigger than the city hotels. It is an old hotel and nothing to do during night time so this is not good for a younger crowd.

Our luck wasn’t on our side during our stay, our security box in the room was openned twice during our stay and in the second time money was stolen from us. The hotel offered to give half back from our stay but it was just frustrating that something like this happened and since we needed to leave back to USA it was pointless to do a police report.

Great hotel

Location is near the Philosopher's Walk. They provide a free shuttle service to and from Kyoto which is great. The driver even takes a different scenic route to the station every day which is a bonus and like a free tour. Room is large and comfortable. Staff are helpful and friendly. The hotel buffet restaurant is terrible and not recommended.

The hotel was close to a small grocery store that was convenient for us when we needed a quick snack. The service was great. One thing that I wished was better was the amenities for the room. There was no hand lotion but this was very minor. We enjoyed our stay.

Worn out hotel with lovely staff

I haven't had a bad customer service experience in Japan and this place was no exception with lovely, helpful staff with decent English. However the facilities themselves can best be described as depleted. The lobby itself looks inviting enough, and my first impression of the room was positive. However once I got to the bathroom the shine disappeared. It looks like it was built in the 80s and hasn't been renovated since. Cracked sinks, leaky taps, rusty fittings, worn out floors, battered toilet and altogether in desperate need of renovation. In the room itself the fixtures and fittings are newer than the bathroom by a perhaps a decade which still makes them old and overused. It was dirty, just aged. For the money you're better off elsewhere.

It is easy to travel to see all the sights by bus #100, 203,204 and 5. The room is quite roomy and clean except the bath room. There are molds and mildews around the bath tub, on the wall and around the sink on the grout. The front desk staff offered another room, but we turned it down. It is too much trouble to move around.

Wonders of Kyoto

This Hotel's staff was very helpful and generous and the hotel itself, tho a bit worn about the edges was just fine. the location was nice with the help of our GPS phone maps easier to navigate with bus transit. It is located near many Temples and gardens as well as fine neighborhood cafes and restaurants if you ventured off the main road- which we did. The room was clean tho smoking abounds in Japan and you still get second hand smoke. Wifi is only in the lobby as in most Japanese hotels. Timing was not on our side with a group sharing the Sento so we did not get to use it. But overall I found it an enjoyable stay.

The location is very good for visiting the east part of Kyoto.
Next to the hotel you can find a very good coffeeshop.
Gion is not far so you can go there for some drinks or dinner

Hotel is nice. The location is wrong that hotels.com give. Co ordinates lead to someone's house which was very inconvenient so find it on a map before hand.
Hotel was good value for money and next door to a Shrine. I recommend the hotel overall. It's close to the silver temple

overpriced, tired, mediocre hotel

I am single non smoker and requested a non smoking room, because of late booking I had to take a supposedly non smoking twin, at almost 16000 yen and at that price did expect it to be a room from which it appeared from the smell the ashtrays had only been removed a week or two previously.. It stank of cigarettes, the furnishings and the very scuffed walls were obviously of 1980s vintage, bed comfortable but flowery quilted shiny bedspreads, a real throw back, tired stained old carpets and long time un decorated hence the reek. Bathroom was fine, clean and well maintained. Overall hotel very dated. location good for philosophers walk area and silver pavilion, no night life in the area at all, and limited choice around for breakfast if you did not want to shell out for hotel breakfast. There was a direct bus from station would be helpful if they told you that in the advert - no5.

Acceptable hotel, but it had seen better days.

The hotel is situated within walking distance from the Philsopher's Path, and Heian Jingu Shrine. It is also next to a nice hill, at the foot of which is a temple for childbearing god in the shape of a rabbit. The hotel, however, is old. Its decor is from the 1960s, and the condition of the rooms and restrooms reflect so. The rooms are clean enough, and are very big in comparison to more modern hotels in Kyoto where space utilization is more \"optimized.\" So, if you like a hotel with big rooms with a view, at an okay location, this is for you (if you don't mind old furnishing, and creaky furniture).

Hotel is old and quite worn around the edges, with old fashioned rooms and hard, uncomfortable beds. Location is ok (it overlooks one of Kyoto's many temples) but a bit of a hike from all metro stations (incl. Kyoto Station) and Gion. Service was good (to be expected in Japan).

大勢連れて連泊利用したが朝食メニューが豊富でないうえに連日全く内容が同じなので呆れた。チェックイン時刻を知らせていたが部屋の空調が入っておらず暑い思いをさせられたが、他の者は空調が入っていて涼しかったそうなので単なる入れ忘れだろうがまったく不愉快である。

施設全体が古く、隣りの話しの内容まで聞こえました。
大浴場では外国人観光客２名が水着を着て入浴していて脱衣所でも水着から水がすたっていて水浸しで、危うく滑って転びそうになりました。
見かねてフロントに伝えましたが、どのような対応をしているかも不明。二度と泊まらないです。

少数派には残念な、眺望良好な団体向けホテル

高齢の親子二名での一泊でした。団体向け施設のようで、ホテル内の食事処はチェックインした午後７時には既に終了、近隣の飲食店も少なく不慣れ客にはハードだと感じました。朝食も団体客であふれ断念。結局素泊まり状態でした。浴室はバスタブ無しシャワーヘッド。設備は綺麗で、部屋からの眺望が唯一の救いになりました。

空調をつけたら鼻水とくしゃみが

概ね満足だが、空調をつけたら、ほこりかカビが原因なのか、くしゃみと鼻水が止まらなくなった。
でも部屋が暑くて仕方なく明け方までつけていたが、鼻が詰まって何度も起きてしまった。
止めたらおさまったので空調が原因だと思う。

館内が広く清掃が行き届いていて快適に過ごす事ができました。
大浴場もあり必要なアメニティがきちんと揃っていてとても良かったです。一つだけ気になったのが、大浴場へお部屋のタオルを持参する方針なのですが、2人に対してフェイスタオル2枚バスタオル2枚しか準備されておらず、大浴場で使用した後は使用済の濡れているタオルで手を拭いたりしないといけなかったのが残念でした。
お部屋用のハンドタオルがあれば良いと思います。

今回平安神宮でのイベントに参加のための滞在でしたが、徒歩で15分ほどでとても便利でした。駐車場もあり、チェックイン時間よりかなり早く着きましたが置くことができ助かりました。追加料金と合わせて2000円かかりましたが、駐車場を探す苦労を考えたらそれでもありがたかったです。
快適に過ごせました。

2人で利用したが部屋が非常に狭い。
ダブルベッドを置けば人が一人通れるようなスペースしかなく、エアコンが頭すれすれにあり、何度も頭をぶつけそうになった。
身長１７５センチ以上の方には難しい部屋だと感じました。

部屋のお風呂はユニットバスではないのですが、シャワー室がトイレから丸見えで、結局同時に利用することは羞恥心を持ち合わせている人間には不可能で、別になっている意味が無い。
ラブホテルの方がましです。

11月紅葉観光に2泊しました。場所は紅葉観光地に近く徒歩で散策可能なところが多くあります。
スタッフの対応や設備も特に問題ないのですが団体客が入ると女風呂が混んで荒れるようです。できれば団体客の時間のマネージや混みそうな時間の告知等していただけると良いかと思います。

徹底してほしい。

中国系の方のマナーの悪さにはがっかりです。特に大浴場は、荒れ放題でした。ホテルスタッフの見回り、外国の方へのマナー注意等徹底してほしいです。
あと、客室の浴室清掃も髪の毛が落ちてるなど散々でした。
改善を期待します。

ホテルのフロント電話

駅に着いてホテルに電話を入れた所、電話に出た人が『あなたの予約はない』という。ビックリしていろいろ調べて貰ったら、この人がローマ字のスペルの読み方を知らなかっただけだった。ホテルに勤務するなら、ローマ字の表記は勉強して下さい。また、よく調べもしないで、『予約はない』などと、安易な返事はしないで下さい。ホテルのフロントの電話は『ホテルの顔』で、そのまま『ホテルの評価』につながると思います。

un bref séjour, je n'ai pas pu profiter de la proximité avec l'une des attractions touristiques, le sanctuaire shinto Heian et ses jardins célèbres.
Cet hotel dispose d'un bain public, un 'onsen', eau à 40 ou 42°, bien agréable même s'il est plutôt encombré
Bon rapport qualité-prix
