Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Aging bathrooms. Shuri castle a short 15 minute walk away. Rest of Naha attractions can be reached by bus or monorail train. Bus stop is a 10min walk. Monorail about 20 min by foot. Buffet breakfast was decent, nothing special.

The pool was great at this property. Our room was small for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The food options were ok. There were restaurants around the area. Staff at the front desk were helpful especially Anthony. He was helpful with recommendations of where to visit in the island and places to eat at.

Remote location but many food delivery options and hotel restaurant (we only tried shunten) was great. The road leading up to the hotel if driving was sometimes very congested. Ample parking even when the hotel is hosting a wedding. Slight trek from nearest bus stop (125 comes straight from the airport) or monorail. Rooms are clean and bathroom fixtures recently refurbished. Aircon is ideal.

This time we got a room on the 19th floor overlooking Naha and the ocean in the distance. The room was dated, humid, and small, but the view was very nice. We love the pool. We were disappointed that they discontinued the shuttle service into town, though.

It’s a very old hotel. Check in was average the front desk paid no attention to my 5 year old that was trying to say hi. The rooms were clean, but extremely humid. A lot of the building had a very old and moldy smell.

This is actually one of the nicest hotels in Okinawa; don’t be fooled by the name. The staff are wonderful and the pool is the nicest we have seen in Okinawa. The on-site restaurants are great. You will be pleasantly surprised by this hotel.

The pluses: a largish pool (though one section was closed) with beach chairs and palm trees all around, a spacious room, and a free shuttle bus.

The minuses: our room on the 10th floor smelled like mildew, the toiletries were sparse (e.g. no Q-tips), and the bathroom is dated (of note for Japanese visitors: there was no space for washing off before entering the bath...).

We enjoyed our stay, but next time we visit Naha we'll look around for a better deal.

The reception staff was very friendly and the instructions were very clear. The room was clean and comfortable, the view was good.
However, the traffic is really inconvenient and suitable for self-driving travel. For people like me who don't drive and travel alone, the location is not very convenient. The hotel's shuttle bus starts at 5 pm, and every half hour a bus, the last shuttle bus is 9:30 pm, and the time is really short. It is very inconvenient to enter and exit the hotel during the day, and the shuttle bus costs 100 yen each time. Although it is not very expensive, but for guess who lives in the hotel, I think the shuttle bus should be provided a free pick-up.

2 nights family stay

The hotel rooms are giving a nice view over the city to the sea since the hotel is located a bit up the hill. There is free parking available, it's a large car park, don't worry, it won't be fully occupied even you come back late. The staff I would say is friendly.
However, the hotel location is a bit inconvenient. If you want to go even for dinner outside the hotel, then you have to take the car. We wanted to eat dinner one night after 9pm as we returned to the hotel, but the last orders were already passed. We have been suggested to go to the lounge for dinner, but when we arrived we were told we can't go in with our 2 year old child. So, the only option was the room service. This all together was a bit disappointing.
One more point on the downside, the hotel seems a bit older. Most of the hotel looks renovated, but the bathrooms are really dated. They are clean, but dated. For this category and price I would have expected this to be nicer.

Until now we always stayed at the other Double Tree closer to the airport, but this time we enjoyed the Double tree Shuri castle because of it's perfect location for sightseeing. It is older than the other Double tree but nonetheless still a great Hilton experience.
It will definitely be our place of stay for the next time.

Cannot believe it is Doubletree!

We usually love staying Doubletree, but not this one. It was not worth what we paid. We would not stay there even if the room was $40.
They said all rooms are renovated in Spring of 2017. We stayed there in the beginning of October 2017. The room smelled like old old wet carpet, but the carpet looked like new. So we did not know the cause of bad smell.
I got sick in the middle of the night and my husband was also sick next morning. We thought we would get used to with this smell, but we didn't.
We told the hotel about the smell and we would check out one day earlier, but they did not look like they were concerned and did not even offer a different room.
They did not refund for the one night we did not stay, but we could not stay one more night at this hotel. We booked another hotel, but that was a good decision.
I cannot believe this hotel is labeled as \"Doubletree\". I would not come back to this hotel.
FYI: they don't even offer a complementary fresh brewed coffee. The only thing they had was a powder instant coffee.
And be careful for the hi-speed wifi charge. It would cost you 1,000 yen if you are not paying attention.

Too Bad Hilton Is Taking It Over

I loved the staff, especially the reception staff. Their smiles were real and their helpfulness boundless.

I know great Chinese food. It's the last thing I expected in a Chinese restaurant in a Japanese hotel, but the chef is a genius. The dumplings with shrimp and Okinawan seaweed ( a specialty for which foodies in Hong Kong pay a fortune ) were to die for. The soup dumplings were as good as any I've ever had.

I hope Hilton has the collective brains to keep the great staff. I asked several, and they don't know if Hilton will keep them. It's unfair to treat great staff this way.

The only downer is the 800 yen taxi to the center of Naha. The hotel has a shuttle bus, but shuttle buses are never on schedules that I can adapt to.

Cheap business hotel near Shuri Castle

The Hotel Nikko Naha Grand Castle is \"grand\" in name only. Rooms are very small, typical for tired Japanese business hotels. The room was clean, but it was very musty, and I had to turn off the A/C as a result. I also had to pop the frame off the window in order to be able to open it to air the room out, which made breathing a bit more bearable, and I slept with the window open. The hotel is a convenient 10 minute walk to Shuri Castle, most of it uphill. Otherwise, its fairly inconvenient, unless you have a car. There is only one small restaurant within walking distance, and its a good 15-20 minute walk to the closest convenience store. The hotel's three restaurants are overpriced -- expect to pay at least $40 for a basic meal. The hotel appears to do a good job by keeping school groups on the lower floors of the hotel, and singles and other business travelers on the higher floors, which ensured that the stay was a bit quieter.

周囲に飲食店がないのが、唯一の難点ですかね。
このホテルを拠点にしてレンタカーで離島や美ら海水族館、青の洞窟に行きましたが、次回もこのプランで離島の場所を変更して行こうと思います。距離はありますが、ドライブがてらちょうど良いと思います

設備関係は古めですが、客室も清潔で清掃もしっかりされています。
子供と計4名で泊まったのですが、毎回タオルを2名分しか置いてなかったりして催促の電話をしていたり、子供用のアメニティが置いてなかったりとサービス面で面倒だなと感じました。
なおプールサービススタッフはすごく丁寧で親切なので子供連れにはすごく便利です。

プールがあるので料金が高いのかと思いました。
ロビーカウンターでの対応は外国人スタッフが多いせいもあるのか到着時の対応は良くなく、いわゆるおもてなし感は薄く、朝食ビュッフェは種類が今ひとつ、レストランの広さはゆったり感は無く、客室も同様。
色んな要素で割高に感じました。
