The hotel has an amazing location. On a clear day, Mount Fuji can be seen directly from the hotel which has a wonderful observation room. Breakfast is good with plenty of choice. The onsen is also a lovely treat at the end of the day- and spotlessly clean. We love staying here. There is a shuttle service provided to/from the station as the hotel is a little out of town.

Wonderful location for amazing view of Fuji. The grounds are well maintained and Onsen is excellent too. We ate both nights in the hotel and had a superb meal. Regular shuttles to the town centre which finishes at 19.30. recommend if you don't want to be in Kawaguchiko which to be honest is busy and tacky.

Great view and spacious room. It was the biggest room of our trip though the fuji room is outdated compared to the one with a private bath and mountain view. Bath tube is small for bigger Americans but public baths are nice and makes up for it.

The room was nice. The hotel has a great view as described and is so relaxing. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The only thing is it is in a bit of a food desert. The town is overcrowded and the hotel itself has very little food especially if the restaurant is booked. Highly recommend bringing food with you here.

Loved our stay here. Staff was thorough and friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable. First time sleeping on tatami mats! This was the most expensive hotel on our Japan trip as we were hoping to see Mt Fuji from our room. Unfortunately we didn’t, as it was cloudy. The French restaurant was expensive with very small portions, but flavorful dishes. The breakfast was simply amazing; we got to try Japanese traditional dishes. The free shuttle goes from Kawaguchiko Station to the hotel.

I love our bedroom view to Mount Fuji. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was good. The only thing that was kind of inconvenient is that I didn’t get a heads up to make a reservation for dinner and dinner time was full already. If you stay here make sure to make reservation for dinner or you will have to walk to look for a place to eat.

We booked this hotel very close to our travel and were skeptical due to it’s isolated location. Our stay was wonderful, staff is very kind and helpful. Shuttle service makes it breeze to go back and forth to town. Location is very scenic and has good trails. We were lucky to get sunny morning and were able to clearly see majestic Mt. Fuji from the hotel. We will definitely recommend and use this place when return to the area.

My favourite thing about the stay was the view. We had booked the mountain view and it just so happened that the day had clear skies which meant a fantastic view of Mt. Fuji. Staff was very friendly and spoke good enough English to get us settled in. The room itself was very clean and spacious. Our stay included breakfast and the food was amazing. Buffet style breakfast ensured we had enough food to give us energy to visit neighbouring shrines in the area. The cheap bike rentals was also an added bonus. Usually they’re expensive by the station but at the Hotel it was 500 yen for 3 hours if I’m not mistaken.

There is a lady who works the gift shop and I’d like to say she was very welcoming and thoughtful. She helped with forwarding our luggage to the next hotel and gave us tips about our next location. She waved us goodbye as we left the hotel.

Overall, amazing stay. Food is great, staff is amazing, the view is stellar.

First and foremost, THE VIEW! Breathtaking scenes of Mt. Fuji and the surrounding lake and mountains are worth staying here.
Second, the room was ample, comfortable, and nicely equipped. Great value, especially when compared to hotels in larger cities of Japan.
The onsen and grounds are nice and the staff are courteous, professional and efficient.
Less impressive was the dinner and we missed breakfast because last entry is 30 minutes before service ends, so we were no longer able to get a table.
Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay and would likely return. A plus for us is that is was a little off the area overcrowded by tourists and public transportation.

The view was absolutely outstanding. The staff are friendly, from the shuttle driver to the front desk staff to the wait staff - highly recommend including breakfast in your booking. The rooms however are outdated but when you have a hotel onsen and that mountain view, you can't ask for anything else. Walking distance to 7-11 and for a walk around the Lake.

Excellent hotel. Besides the room being so clean and comfortable , the latest check in was at midnight and I called right before and let them know that their was a delay with the flight and train that they allowed me to check in at 12:30am.
I am forever grateful for making an exception and will be staying here again.

The shuttle bus service from the station was fantastic. All their people were very friendly and helpful. We had the best view of Mt. Fuji. The hotel surrounds were beautiful gardens kept immaculately. We would highly recommend this hotel. Lovely spacious rooms too. Shower over bath thouh. Also lake not far to walk. and tourist bus service to the lake areas, etc. And to the kimono museum; must see. The Kawaguchiko station is very crowded with hundreds of tourists but efficient service to get through. Make sure you book your train ticket seat. Train very crowded.

We had a lovely stay at the Fuji View Hotel. You can choose a room facing either Mt. Fuji or Lake Kawaguchi, though the actual view depends on the weather. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide range of both Japanese and Western options. The hotel is easily accessible from Kawaguchiko Station via a free hourly shuttle or the Saiko sightseeing bus that stops nearby every 30 minutes. Located away from the town center, the hotel offers a peaceful atmosphere with plenty of walking paths and beautiful surroundings. Perfect for a relaxing getaway.

The name did not disappoint, great view of Mount Fuji. The grounds were meticulously groomed. This was my first visit to Japan so I was quite out of sorts. Given that, the staff was friendly and helpful patient despite some challenges with the language gap. The room was clean, well equipped with amenities and everything worked.

The onsen also was a new experience for which which I found enjoyable. I have nothing to compare it to, but this one seemed nice.

For anyone looking to do a Fuji excursion, relax for a view days, or have a romantic weekend, I highly recommend. However if you are looking for late night dinners, and walkable things to do, this may not be the best option.

The staff are exceptional : genuine and respectful. The staff welcomes us every year when we return. After we climb the Mt Fuji and unable to walk further from our car to the main door, the staff will greet us from afar and help us with the luggage’s, not for tips but for their professionalism and values they cherish much.

What a lovely place to enjoy Fuji views and beautiful surroundings at Lake Kawaguchi. We had a wonderful stay. Didn’t have a car so used the shuttle daily to get to town and back. Also the green line bus that stops just a block or so away. The Onsen is delightful. Breakfast buffet is sumptuous - and recommended since there are almost no shops or restaurants nearby. The observation room was perfect for relaxing and viewing Mt Fuji. Room was small but comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. Just a wonderful place to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Highly recommended.

This hotel back in the day would have been THE place to come. The actual hotel is looking a little tired and crying for a refurb.

However the views are to die to for. The front of house and waiters are excellent and can’t do enough for you.

Housekeeping on the other hand not so much, we stayed 2 nights and all they did was replace towels and bottles of water, left our dirty glasses so we had to rinse out. I don’t need clean towels every day, and when possible reuse. But I would expect my bed to be made up.

I know their world problems, but it wasn’t cheap and I would expect a made up room.

Breakfast OK due to it not being warm, sausages bacon, potatoes all cold.

Would I stay here again 100% just for the view

This is a perfect hotel to see Mount Fuji, the views are spectacular. The employees were very kind and helpful. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was free too. I wished I had stayed more than one night. 2 days to visit the area is not enough.
Oh, and the breakfast was delicious with so many Japanese and regular dishes.

What a view!

After a few rainy days in Tokyo, we arrived at this hotel still under grey skies, and with not much hope of seeing Mt. Fuji. Hiowever, on opening the curtains the next morning...Wow!! What a site! The view of Fuji from our room was stunning, magnificent! The room was nice an big, although perhaps a little dated (some USB ports would be nice!), but overall, can't complain! We took advantage of the hotel shuttle bus into town, which is very useful, although could be more frequent than once an hour, and has to be pre-booked during busy hours (early morning etc). Additionally, the final service back from town is 19:45, which means there's not really an opportunity to experience the restaurants in Fujikawaguchiko unless you get a taxi back. But to be honest, I would have happily walked back to the hotel to see that view!

Very good hotel with an incredible view of Mt Fuji. Easily accessible via hotel shuttle from Fujikawaguchi Shinkansen train station for local (cheap and excellent) dining by station. If traveling from Tokyo to Fujikawaguchi, be sure to book Mt Fuji side window seat! Same when booking a room at this hotel: request an upper floor balcony with a view of Mt Fuji.
