The room and possibly the entire hotel need thorough sanitization, and the air conditioner filter may need to be replaced. Additionally, I am not sure whether the hallway carpet is vacuumed every day or has been deep cleaned. I have been sick with a virus since I started staying. Other than that, the breakfast buffet and the services were great.

Hotel is good for Kelapa Gading area we have stayed in Wizz, Harris and Cabin Hotels and El hotel is best value for money. Plus nice large foyer/ entrance area with a separate bar. Room are a bit dated and poorly lighting ours had a bath and hand held shower, i would of preferred a walk in shower.

Amazing hotel to stay in. The buffet breakfast was amazing. A quick and easy stroll to Lotte mart as well as MOI. The property was a little outdated but the place was clean and the staff were super friendly and helpful.
Do not recommend the massage! We were super offended and shocked when my husband went down for a massage and he was offered “extra services”. I believe that the massage place could possibly be leased to a business as you paid separately too.
The massage place is NOT a reflection on the rest of the amazing hotel and the people in the hotel.

Shout out to Andi the team manager hotel. He really helped change my view of this hotel. Superb 5 star service. The entire hotel service is good. Excellent breakfast. Everyone is customer centric. The hotel needs an upgrade for room condition. But the ones that were renovated are relatively pleasant. So book Delux grade would be advisable for a good stay.

Their wifi was very slow me almost nonexistent. They also charged extra fees bath towels if you request one.which doesn’t make sense at all especially when we rented executive suites. When the hotel was full forget it to have decent breakfast as you don’t even have a place to sit. The place is within walking distance to Lotte mart which is a plus but I have to say with lack of Wifi, TV service and quality of customer service I don’t think I can come here anymore. Also if you stay here more than one night beware that you do need to one to registration at the lobby everyday so your card can work

Decent place for families. Menu is plain and simple, buffet breakfast spread daily, same thing every day almost. Staff are excellent and friendly. Definitely a plus point there. Be prepared to check in late. Wifi is not good. So do have a backup plan for that. Overall for a simple family vacation, should be fine.

Long wait for lift

Staff were really friendly and strived to make our stay an enjoyable one. Hotel offered a late checkout (free up till 2pm in most cases)

Some areas of the room were not the cleanest. Table was sticky and the curtains had slight holes. Very long wait time for the lifts. Out of 2 lifts, only 1 seemed to be working (No level indicator on most levels). Most of the time, we ended up taking the stairs down.

For those who are noise-sensitive, you'll be able to hear the prayers outside very clearly at some timings.

Do take note there are 2 entrances, most of the time we had to remind our cabs to take the right entrance in.

Still, for the price paid, it's quite worth it. Hotel comes with pool and gym too.

Do not waste your money on breakfast. I booked a package with breakfast for 3 days. Most of the trays were either empty or with few miserable vegetables. Time: 8.15am. They did not take any effort to replenish the food, especially the only tray of protein, chicken. Everytime I asked, the same answer \"another 5 minutes\". I was there for 45 minutes and lost my patience waiting, and 2 this was 2 mornings in a row. Are they trying to cut costs by delaying replenish of food? I did march to the receptions and informed them that I would not be taking breakfast the next and request for a re-fund. They refuse since I booked thru' Expedia. But I paid thru' Expedia. I have no issue if the food I paid was not to my taste. But this was totally different matter as they refuse to replenish the food. I hope Expedia address my concern regarding my refund for the breakfast.

This is 2nd time stay in El Royale Hotel.Formerly, called Grand Whiz Hotel..Overall was statisfactory.Thumb up for room cleanliness and breakfast was variety with local and western food served.During my stay, lift upgrading work in progress hence long waiting and crowded as 1 lift able to use.Location wise very convenient as hotel just a cross LotteMart and many shops at Kelapa Gading areas. The hotel is aimed towards travelling businessmen with a professional and classy lobby area. The second floor is solely dedicated to conference rooms and event spaces.

As with other hotels. there's a nice instagrammable pool, a gym (hidden and tucked away at the back of the hotel - which may be hard to find) and a spa place right beside the gym.

The staff here were polite and accommodating and efficient in checking us in. The room however, was a little disappointing.

When we first arrived in the room, it was apparent that no one has been in the room for a while. there's a layer of grey dust on the floor that was easily visible on the soles of our feet. Moreover, the toilet has stains on the floor that resembles dirt/mould. The shower head needs replacement as well - it was layered with different shades of white and brown dirt and mold.

Behind the curtains, you would notice a balcony that is filled with dust and handful of debris from the construction that was happening behind our room (Not to mention the drilling and knocking sound during the day). The air-conditioning was also not working when we first got there on a sunny afternoon. We had to call the operator to send someone up to look at it (In which the technician is proficient and effective in solving the problem).

The WIFI was spotty during the day which we suspected was due to the conference that was happening on level 2, forcing us to tether some internet from our phones instead.

Stayed there four nights and had two room. Both room had ants, told them after first night and cleaned both room but still had ants after cleaning. And also the air conditioning was not working in 1 off the room and complaint and was told they will fix but didn't so I didn't bother with it any more.

Most of the time only 1 of 3 lifts worked, meaning long waiting times to go up or down. Had to take the stairs a few times from the 10th floor in a dinner gown and 4” heels!
There also seems to be no service lift, so hotel staff were also using the only lift to transport baggage up to rooms, with the baggage trolley taking up half the lift space.

The location is not too bad to go around shopping area by foot if one don't mind walking. Decent pool but gym is just basic. Second time I m staying in the hotel. The rooms are fine but air-conditioning are noisy and in my second time the toilet lights are so dim that I m surprised it's not changed until I had to asked to get them fixed, the first time i stayed the toilet system choked. Breakfast is bad so second time I did not book with breakfast. If you just want a decent and not expensive place to stay for few days business trip, it is ok hotel. Staff are nice and helpful as in Indonesian culture.

The housekeeping has not make up the room till we were back in the afternoon at 3pm. We have to call for the service despite makeup room note been put up at door.
We were having lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant and we waited almost 45minutes for the food to be served whereby there's only few of us there.

Rooms could do with updating, but were adequate for our stay. The staff seem really helpful but trying to get directions in English can sometimes be a bit difficult. The hotel is close to 2 malls, one happens to be The Mall of Indonesia. Both easily walking distance, no need for taxi's and quite safe at night.

No clear parking sign to the hotel when we arrive, elevators are taking forever, and we queued more than 30 minutes in the afternoon (~5pm).
Turns out there was a wedding and the hotel was understaffed and NOT READY to serve customers. Only two people at the check in counter. Asking for a Non-smoking room, but every non-smoking room was fully booked, the lady promised us to move us to another room the following night (since we made two separate bookings for the two night stays). In the front of our room, a bunch of office boys are sitting down and chatting, only to move after they are sure we're heading to the room behind them that they're blocking. After checking in, we immediately called the receptionists to open our windows since IT COULD ONLY BE OPENED BY THEM. The room was full of tobacco smells, until I felt very dizzy and locked myself in toilet with exhaust fan. Tried calling the recwptionist and ob more than 10 times only to be answered 3 times in one hour time span until someone came.
The next morning, we packed our stuffs and while heading out, we talked to the receptionist guy about us changing room for our second night. Turns out he did not know since the receptionist lady last night did not note it down. But they guy promised to move our stuffs to our new rooms once they are ready while we go out. After we're back to ask for our new room key, our stuffs were not there. And we called them to bring our stuffs.
Overall it's a terrible service of 4-star hotel.

Checked in late as was working all day. Was told the king-size, non-smoking room I had booked and paid for was not available. Would I like a twin room or a smoking room. Opted for the smoking room. Yes, it smelt of smoke.

The bad - Shower did not have curtains or an attachment to hold up the shower head. Room was a little dirty, mini fridge was empty save for a bottle of water, internet speed on the WiFi was weak. Room service did not pick up the phone even though it was meant to be 24 hours.

The good - bed was comfortable and I got a good night's sleep. There was a good range of TV channels. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel was very crowded when we checked in and during our stay as well, due to the National Olympic event going on during our stay. Other than that, the hotel is quiet good.

The food quality offered for breakfast was so and so, especially the salads and fruits were prepared without proper temperature to keep them fresh. No ice under the serving bowls to keep the temperature chill. The restaurant staffs need to be trained in food safety preparation and handling.

The location is good if you work in NE Jakarta....also plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area. Check in was easy and efficient. I ordered a suite, the receptionist was very accommodating. She did provide for a higher floor but the room was a odd layout two bedroom unit. Still good enough for me....but I found the single bathroom very small and with no shower curtain or door the water went all over the room. I would not like to see 4 people using a bathroom of this design, the floor would be flooded. The staff were nice and I will probably return.

A perfect hotel for family who loves shooping

We stayed for 5 nights at Grand Whiz Hotel Kelapa Gading. The hotel is ok, there was view conferences and wedding at the hotels during our stays, so sometimes you have to wait for the elevator, and a lot of people in the lobby area.

The room (We stayed at Condotel) was large enough, and it is a good size for a family. In general, the room is perfect for family, plenty space, and large enough. The hotel is accessable for someone with a wheelchair, except the breakfast room (You have to go out to pool area and enter the restaurant from there - if the door is not lock), that is why we did not have breakfast there (You only alowed to bring 4 kind of assorted bread for 3'people - it is the policy of the management according to one of the supervisor), the other way to get breakfast is to order through room service (extra charge) event though you have breakfast included in the rate. However, we have a great time, the security and doorman is polite and very helpfull, the other staffs also very kind and helpfull. The location of the hotel is very good, there are 2 big shooping mall nearby, and access to Lotte Market (Supermarket) from the hotel. And it is also easy to get reliable taxi from the hotel.

I had a connecting room though and the family next door was very noisy with a child hitting a ball to the wall between our rooms very early in the morning (it was during the fasting season hence they were up before sunrise)! I called reception for help and they immediately called the room next door and the boy soon stopped hitting his ball.

I was very satisfied with my stay here. Room and toilet were clean. Room was tidied up, towels were changed and toiletries replaced daily. Staff were friendly and it was easy to get a taxi at the hotel cos there was a White Horse taxi group staff outside to phone a taxi in whenever needed. I like that the hotel entrance has its 'private' pick up and drop off area, which I can't really describe. Anyhow, cars need to pass through a gantry first before entering the drop off area so it feels safer. Lotte Mart is just next to the hotel and you can walk to the hotel through the car park. Mall of Indonesia is also accessible by foot. The only thing I was very slightly disappointed in was the variety of food served at breakfast and the balcony in my deluxe room was really more of an area for the air-con compressor unit. Otherwise, I highly recommend this hotel.

Good place to stay

I stay at the hotel for 7 night , the people in the hotel are nice and polite .

Only bother me my next room was very noisy , they arrive home at 1am in the morning and speak very loude .
