The staff were friendly and helpful, the room I booked was the small budget room and while its small, I was solo travelling so it was perfect for me. The beds were way more comfortable than i anticipated. The only \"negatives\" were that the bathroom door didn't easily latch, i had to pull the door shut kind of hard for the latch to click, which isn't a big deal, and that the room did not have a thermostat to control the room temp. I have health conditions that cause my body temp to be lower than average so I found the room to be a bit chilly and would have loved to turn the temp up. Other than that though, I enjoyed my stay and will consider booking with hotel cabin again the next time I visit Iceland.

Staff wasn’t great. Completely MIA when answering questions ahead of the stay. Mostly disinterested at the time of the stay (the exception being the man who was working the front desk after midnight on November 14–he was excellent). Room was small even by Reykjavik standards but was mostly fine. Lack of a miniature refrigerator was a problem—first time I’ve stayed in a place in Iceland that didn’t have one. Breakfast was the same every day and a bit dull. Bar—I don’t know, it closed too early for me to try it. On the whole it was just sort of OK. I’m in Reykjavík two or three times a year and this is the only place I’ve stayed at that I wouldn’t stay at again.

This was one of the worst hotels we stayed at in iceland. We were first placed in room mid hotel on the 5th floor. There was hardly any space in the room but it was clean. It was unbearably hot in the room & the window opened to a corridor in the hallway. We asked the staff to turn down the heat as there was no self controls in the room. They were able to move us to another room that had an actual window to outside & internal self controls. This is not reflective of the hotel itself but some warning would have been nice, there was about 100 youth staying at the hotel at the same time. They were VERY loud & slamming doors in the hotel until around midnight. They do have parking out back but this was the crazy snowstorm night & we were almost unable to park in the back. I asked for a snow shovel & was told they do not have any we can use, seemed odd. The breakfast was healthy & some options. The orange juice was very watered down. I would not stay at this hotel again & would not recommend. They do have a staffed bar downstairs & staff on site.

There are two sides to this hotel. One with nice rooms and one with basic rooms. In the basic rooms, the shower was extremely small and very hard to get in and out of due to a curved sliding door. Checkin staff were helpful.

Very small room, but I'm a Solo traveler so it was okay for me. Private bathroom. The hotel is on the corner of two major city streets. Lots of vehicle noise. It's less expensive than other nearby hotels. There is car parking but it fills up fast in the evening. Breakfast is extra cost. I didn't pay for that. It's not close to downtown tourist sites. So you need a car or use public buses. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Her response was to contact expedia.
Very embarrassing for me as my friend ended up in a very small room and i was helpless. However next day they mobed him to a better room. Saving my face👏👍

About a 20-25 minute walk to central Reykjavik, but obviously a pretty one as you're walking along the Reykjavik waterfront for all of it. Certainly nowhere near the price paid. Could hear every word, snore, and movement of neighbours on all sides.

the room is a bit stuffy and got really hot at night. There’s no thermostat to change the temperature. The window opens but the room is facing a big street so it’s a bit noisy. It is convenient to get food from Kronan or the gas station if you didn’t get breakfast option. Breakfast items are ok, it was really busy and staff often cannot replenish cutlery/food fast enough.

I found the room to be extremely small for 2 people. Probably more comfortable for only one person. Parking was an issue and it was very stressful trying to find a parking spot after a whole day of exploring. The breakfast options were just enough to get you going. The morning staff was helpful in letting me store my bags since I arrived at 8 AM and it was too early to check in. Great location, near the cruise terminal port.

They are very adamant and offer no flexibility regarding check in/out time, like not even a 10-15 minute buffer, i guess in order to promote their paid options for late check out/ early check in. No coffee provided, costs 500 krona per cup. Staff is very pleasant and nice.

We booked a windowless room, which we were actually looking forward to in order to get a darker room for sleep given the sun's hours in July. Instead, the room had a window with a faux opaque image attached to it, that opened into the hallway. It was actually a bit unnerving that the window was there at walking-height of everyone walking past that hallway, we would have rather there just been no window. The shower was small but functional, barely enough space to turn around in.

Breakfast is served 7-10am and had enough to keep most people happy (little American, little English, little European breakfast style). The free parking is available on the backside of the building, we didn't have any issues with it. Staff were friendly.

The hotel was nice, clean, and had friendly staff. Had a drink at the bar, that was lovely. The room itself was very small. For my family of 4, it was a pretty tight fit. Although I think most hotel rooms in Iceland are a bit on the smaller side. No dressers. Small counter in room. Small shelf in bathroom to put things, but had to live out of our suitcases which we had to open and close each time. A bit inconvenient, but doable. Sights in Iceland are beautiful and worth the trip!!

Hotel room was clean, and the walk to Laugavegur (the center/main shopping street) is about 10 - 15 minutes. Breakfast is limited, just bread, plain yoghurt, and juice, no warm foods. It would have been nice to have fruit, granola, scrambled eggs/pancakes or such. Nothing fancy, but it was clean, and our stay was good.

Nice hotel - but get the superior room !

We took a basic room and it was what it was supposed to be, basic. No space in the room to walk, very little bathroom, no view and even more the window was on a back street where people works at 7am... you got what you pay for !
The next night we upgraded for a superior room and it was a game changer.

Room was what we needed for two nights but quite small. Beds were comfy and room was clean so no complaints. We were unfortunate to share our first night with two school/college trips. Started with groups of girls screaming and running up and down the corridors which reception dealt with quickly and efficiently. Nothing could be done with the large bunch of American young men outside the hotel wooing and cheering for around 30 minutes.

This hotel takes tour groups so the desk seems constantly overwhelmed taking in large groups of people. They have little time to respond to guests. Some of our group missed a Northern Lights tour as they did not update what was happening. Breakfasts are ok but very simple. Worse, no lunch or dinner at hotel and places to eat substantially far and snow and sleet common.

Great hotel for the price. We were looking for a hotel that wasn’t too expensive so chose hotel cabin. The rooms were small but cosy and comfortable. The location was great, around a 25 minute walk from the centre however bus stop 12 is nearby and all the local tours can pick up at this hotel which was really good. Perfect for what we needed. There is also a small food court across the road with cheap dinner choices and a supermarket only 5 minutes away.

This is definitely a 2 star hotel like advertised. There was barely any free space in my room and my \"twin bed\" was just 2 single beds pushed together with nice big crack in the middle so you could not spread out. I was grateful it was just me and not 2 people in my room.

I’ve been to many places around the world and this was by far the smallest room I have ever stayed in. INCLUDING smaller than an interior cruise ship cabin. It was really hard to maneuver with all the winter clothes and suitcases.
Facility was clean, but the condition was poor. Scuffs everywhere, worn carpet. I would call this a private hostel at best. It did the job, but I would not do that again. Too claustrophobic with two people

My confirmation clearly indicated \"breakfast included\". When I checked in, the front desk woman said that their confirmation was different an did not include breakfast. after showing my confirmation, she reluctantly said \" we'll feed you\". For the remainder of the stay .. when I went to breakfast, they would tell me that I had to pay. so to the front desk I would go, the front desk would say the same thing. \"our computer indicates \"Room only\" and the dance would continue.. very disappointed

I cannot recommend this hotel.

I would not recommend this hotel. The rooms were way too small for 2 people, even by European standards. If you are a single person, it would be fine. It was smaller than a dorm room with no bureau or surface to put your clothes. Our luggage and clothes had to stay under the bed. It is similar to a hostel, not an average comfortable hotel room. It would probalby be ok for a studen. The online photos of the lobby and rooms are very deceiving. The lobby has a variety of broken down couches which were not clean or comfortable. Pros: the sheets were very clean. There are many hotels in Reykjavik, so I would stay elsewhere next time.

The property did not look like the pictures online . We arrived to the hotel early around 12:45 they told us check in is at 3pm which is fine we waited in the lobby slept on the couch. There was also other ppl waiting the front
Desk let them check in and not us. We literally had to wait for 3pm the hotel staff was very rude and dismissive to us and we were the only black ppl there and they were extremely rude to us the entire time up until we left .

Nice job w breakfast starting at 3am ! And at a good price (for Iceland)
Outside balcony lights should be dimmer to help viewing of the northern lights.
It would have been good to allow for early checking- esp considering that overseas flights can arrive early in the day.
