Excellent, peaceful escape - possibly for a night or two. The bungalows are gorgeous and the bathrooms are spacious. The room was relatively clean which is also to be expected being in nature.
Also have to say the Spa was incredible! Best massage and service I have had and truly worth it.
Great hidden gem in an island with a beautiful pool and wonderful breakfast too.
The downsides being it very limited with a bihourly shuttle boat in the afternoon/evening (which can make it quite miserable if overlap with unpredictable rain!) I found this made me wish I had only booked one or two nights as it did get frustrating having to time it perfectly to make dinners and get back.
Some minor downsides and negatives but when addressed, staff were always incredibly accommodating and able to rectify.

The island and the beach are very nice but the resort was very frustrating for us. There was gardening work going on for the entire stay. With around 7-8 workers. This woke us up early and made us uncomfortable using the pool or even having the curtains open. We complained but nothing was done or compensated for. It was like we was ignored. The rooms telephone and fridge did not work. When we ordered room service the order was wrong. Also we specifically asked if our rooms credit could be used on room service and we were told it could be. To then have to pay for room service and be told the credit was only for the restaurant when we had specifically asked about using credit for room service was very annoying. Again the staff did not resolve or seem interested in making up for the issue. So yeah a frustrating stay. You would be better of saving the time and frustration and going to Hon Tre island resorts

Stayed at the resort for 5 days 4 nights. To be honest it is no where near a 5 star standard resort. The resort is by itself on the island and there isn't anything around it beside the crowded mud bath area where all the visitors come to island to try once and leave by 4 pm. There are multi boats that take you from Hon Tam back to mainland Nha Trang city but do beware that the last returning boat is at 9:30pm after that you will get overcharged a hefty fee of 1.4 MLN vnd. Its a typical normal thing for most resort im not complaining, the biggest issue I had was simple: I paid to have some privacy and quiet time to relax on my vacation yet: 5 mins before check out resort people used their card and forced his way into the room only to claim they didnt know i am still in the room, then momentarily another resort employee banged on the door and rushed me to get out even when its not check out time yet. I checked in early and paid half day ahead as well, 1 hour after moving my suitcases in the AC stopped working so they sent a technician over to fix. The next day the AC stopped working again, and through out that day electricity went out twice leaving us hot and sweaty inside the villa. The villa was falsely advertised online with pictures with the pool, plot twist you will have to share the pool with 3 other rooms in 1 whole villa of 4 rooms. Not your private pool. No big deal we didnt really care about the pool. The glasses inside the bathroom came with a dead bug trapped inside

This is a beautiful resort and it’s a well maintained. The staff were very polite and helpful and the beach was stunning. Breakfast was nice but not spectacular. They do however take advantage of you being on an island and the food and drink prices are very expensive. It would also be nice if the boats to the mainland were more frequent.

Amazing beach getaway!

Great place to unwind and get away from the buzz at Nha Trang. The facilities at this hotel are amazing, from the clean beaches, to the pools, mudbaths great walks around the property. Staff is friendly and accommodating to a variety of requests. An amazing stay all-around.

A fantastic stay that I would recommend despite a few minor setbacks, including stickers on the shower and bath tub walls that should have been removed before our arrival, a rain shower head that didn’t work, and trash floating up into the beaches (there was even a situation with a dead dog floating in the water, I wish I was kidding). Even considering those things, I’d still recommend this place. The grounds are beautiful, the staff was attentive, free breakfast with enormous options, and lovely amenities. The spa with the Pamper Yourself option is a must-try. In my view this place was worth every penny!

I was electrocuted by exposed wiring and partner was burned on shower fittings. Mould in bathrooms, hair in food in buffet, birds and bugs eating /standing in food at buffet. Transport is extremely limited long waits. Room privacy is terrible you must keep blinds closed at all times.
Food was inedible at times. We left on second day of a 5 day booking.

The resort would not refund the considerable amount despite me providing a death certificate. At every turn they placed insurmountable obstacles in my efforts to obtain a refund. Disgraceful!

We enjoyed our stay at Hon Tam Resort. The executive suites were enormous, huge beds. Very comfortable. There were 4 executive suites per villa. With each villa having a private pool. Totally luxurious.
The breakfast at the only restaurant was tasty with a good selection and daily changing local dishes. Everything was fresh and well made. The coffee was strong and plentiful.
My criticism of the resort is their lack of service and quality when it comes food and drink. Aside from breakfast nothing else is worth eating. The a la carte menu isn’t executed well. The room service menu is a poor representation of itself. There wasn’t any service at the swim up bar. No one came to take orders while poolside or at the beach. They could be making so much money from us and everyone around us if they had any initiative. Such a wasted opportunity as we were a captive audience, without a shop on the island. Even the mini bar was barely stocked and never replenished during our 6 night stay. There wasn’t even a bar that we could frequent. Such a poor offering. Also, please turn down the thumping music at the pool.

Crystal clear sea. Beautiful lush foliage. We were here many years ago and the bungalows have not changed in all that time. They are in need of a little sprucing up but are fine considering the price. The resort area is smaller now as they have mud baths and beach for just the day visitors, but it is still quiet. Buffet breakfast was surprisingly good, and the only restaurant had good choices for evening meal. With resort credit and free transport to the island the price is really a bargain and a stay here should not be missed.

The pool was lovely and the beach was beautiful and clean.
There was only one place where we could get food that was half decent and open. There was another at the other end of the island but it was mainly a seafood buffet that was not very nice. We only ate the rice. There is not where to get snacks or anything else, it's all in-house purchases.
The activities that were available were not great value and setup for quick turn over tourists. We went parasailing for about 5mins only.
The staff were very nice and tried very hard to assist us and they can not be faulted. Their English was limited and our Vietnamese was non-existent.
I can eat seafood and my daughter is lactose intolerant. This gave us very limited options.
Especially when they gave us a set breakfast menu instead of the buffet.
We found that we booked for a different stay than we got and would not have stayed as long if we new it was half closed.
A stay 1 or 2 nights max is enough.

Great option for a peaceful stay in Nha Trang area

Hotel is beautifully located and set, very quiet, peaceful surrounding, having a private bungalow with sea view on a paradise island is all one can wish for. Each bungalow has own terrace with place to sit and relax looking at the tropical garden and the sea. The private beach and adjacent garden have plenty of chairs and sun beds, hammocks etc to relax in the shade. The hotel Pool is very large and nice, with some areas in the shade. breakfast is quite reach with both Asian and western options. Lunch and dinner were a la carte, card is short so a longer stay can make you little bored, but the food is really tasty. Staff is very nice. Free boat shuttle to the city is efficient and useful if you want to explore a little in the evenings, and the addition of the last one at 11pm gives plenty of time for evening activities. The only minus - the island is also a destination of day trips and some of the four groups are loud and wander around pool area, taking space from hotel guests. This is the only thing I would really recommend the hotel to change. Otherwise - reasonably priced getaway win a beautiful tropical garden setting is a great choice!

Amazing resort —stained by stream of sea trash

Gorgeous resort, but the sea water is absolutely littered with trash—mostly plastic washing ashore from the mainland—24/7. I actually spent most of my time trying to clear the water from these plastic pests instead of swimming. To hotel manage,ent: Please, if you wish to maintain a five-star rating, you absolutely must deal with this issue. I’d suggest hiring cleaning staff at the beach. It’s not rocket science. Other than that, we loved every second of our stay, and it has maintained itself as the highlight of our trip to Nha Trang

It was an amazing stay. It's been a month since I came back, but Mer Perle is one of the best resorts I've been to. However, there are a lot of Chinese tourists on the other side of the island, and some of them even come over to the day-tourist restricted area. One rude chinese man tried to take a picture of the people resting on the beach, so I went to the concierge to raise an issue. The concierge was very cooperative and solved this issue right away.

we left after 2 days of 4. weve been refunded 1 day. We were told we would only get a full refund if we gave it a 10 rating. This would be totally unfair on other travellers. This hotel is a building site.pilon drivers from 6.30 in the morning outside of the apartments / villa's until night time. Your trapped on the island. no shops, or anywhere to go for a walk. restaurant was appalling. breakfast is last nights food. staff have no idea on hygene and cross contamination. Our bathroom had no water and the urinal was blocked. the toilet plunger is put on the floor after unblocking the toilet. the phone for calling for service didnt work, so we had to walk down to reception from the far end of the resort, after travelling for 12 hours. we were told it was fixed, and when we got back after dinner (was more like a cafeteria - manageress was arguing for over 20 mins with customers at full volume.)...it wasnt! We made a two sided list of everything that was wrong with this place. The golf course was a building site- out of order , outside the reception...building site. tennis courts - building site, out of order. Gym...its outside (the same you get along the beach in nhatrang), and has rusted. you have to book your boat to the mainland at least 1hr before departure. Staff cant speak english. Food in restaurant sent back for being cold twice. You would not eat here if you had a choice. No live music or entertainment as stated in brochure (supposed to be everynight). There is more.

Some disappointing details.

On our last day, we went for our usual morning swim. I found a bottle floating in the water and I walked it to the beach to put it in the trash, just like I had every other day. On my way back to the water I looked around and realized my fiancee and I had been floating in a mountain of trash and slime. It was disgusting. We left immediately.

While much of that is due to polluters on the bay, I expect more from hotel staff to help keep their resort clean. We saw some workers with brooms sweeping seaweed off the beach, which really is pointless. They need people actually in the water every morning retrieving floating debris.

This situation obviously went above and beyond providing beach towels (which they don't). Also side notes, this place is really for younger couples as there is a lot of walking involved at the resort and the rooms are more for show than comfort. You also need quite a bit of patience to work your itinerary around the boat schedules. Reception staff weren't efficient, resulting in waits upon arrival and departure.

We stayed for only 2 nights and I wish we stayed a little bit longer.
We got a private car from the airport (45mins) to their sea port. We waited for around 15mins for the shuttle boat to the island that is a 15-20min boat ride. Once you get there you may never want to leave, it's amazing.
The staff was lovely and there was no language barriers to speak of. We spent our days lounging on the sunbeds at the beach. Clear skies and water it was magnificent. We only ate at the Seabreeze restaurant, the food was very tasty, the resort could benefit from more options. After a certain time only room service for food is allowed as the restaurants close.
The room was clean and spacious, the bathroom had both a bath and shower, and is open planned (as in you can see outside) you are very much connected with nature.
If you are coming to relax, meditate or finish that book you were suppose to read a long time ago this is the resort for you. Complete tranquillity and calm.

To get to the resort, we need to take 15mins boat ride because the resort is on an island. They have beautiful beaches and pools. The pool is amazing, water always just right. The beach is clean on the resort side but the playground side which open to the public is dirty. Same goes to the pool. The pool on the resort is beautiful, the water clear but other side is not. I went here with my cousins, we spent hours in the resort pool, but we hadn't step one step in the other pool.. The playground is pretty fun if you go with friends. Challenge yourself. The staff is friendly (because we know a little bit Vietnamese, many comments said that there is language barrier, this I do not know for sure). The resort is on the island and on the island have only the resort so you really can't go anywhere else without the boat ride to the mainland. But the resort is very beautiful (some part still under construction). At the time we went, there not alot of tourists in the resort. So it is very nice experience.

Inconsistencies In Paradise

All pros and cons has ben well described in previous reviews, but all I can add, is that this place could be a paradise, if.... there would be a will to add some value to marvelous natural surroundings and pristine beach. But at the moment it is rapidly deteriorating resort, where rats are openly wandering around restaurant during dinner and where I met most unhappy staff in beach resort worldwide - had a feeling that they are forced to work here. Definitely worst place in our 3 weeks tour in Vietnam, extremely overpriced and unfriendly.

The hotel is a bit rundown but in a great location. Wonderful spot for families. The entertainment area was brilliant - good fun!
The food was average but expensive and nowhere to buy grocery items. You had to buy everything at the hotel which was expensive especially with a 15 percent tax added on.
Still, I had a great time. the views from our villa were magnificent.

Unfortunately we booked this hotel for 2 Adults and 3 children. The room is only equipped for 2 Adults and 1 child, they knew we had the 3 kids and we had to pay and extra $60 per child for the week we stayed, they weren't happy to help you out even though we had previously settled the account. Not great communication, nice resort lovely beach and pool. Restaurant on island not great expensive so you really have to go to the mainland everyday for dinner. Buffet breakfast was lovely..... not a family resort more a couples resort not much there, lovely views, very quiet. If you want a beach to yourself and a very relaxing time away then this is the place. Cleaners were lovely but no one else really bothers with you. We were pretty disappointed with this experience.

We booked this hotel on expedia for 2 adults & 3 children to arrive to a room with 1 queen bed & 1 single bed. We then went back to reception to be advised that this was 'their' family room & unless we paid an additional $60 per night & 'squeeze' 1 more bed into the room then we just had to make do! After a very heated discussion with a very unfriendly staff member we had no option but to foot the additional money & try to enjoy the rest of our stay. We were here for 7 nights so this was a hefty addition to our holiday budget! Things didn't get much better from there....service was appalling, there was never anyone at the pool bar, there was no 'kids activities/club' as advertised. The mini golf was in disrepair, the kids water slide was never in operation, meals were expensive & not that nice, all equipment offered was an additional fee, the games room was pathetic (pool table had missing balls & there was no cooling so it was like a sauna). I could go on & on.....I'm 100% sure for the price you can find a much better option. We were lucky the beach was beautiful to take our mind off the disappointment of the 'resort'

My family and I are just back from a six night stay at the island. The resort is breathtakingly beautiful with white sands and lush gardens and plenty of activities to keep the kids busy. The food at the Garden Restaurant is fabulous and the staff are amazing . It was my youngest son's birthday while we were there and the staff helped organize a cake and a special birthday party. The whole experience will be unforgettable for him. Only downside of the whole experience would be the fact that rain did come into our bathroom and flood the floor at times. Otherwise it is fantastic.

Beautiful views but not much else

Let me start by saying the views from the bungalow were absolutely amazing, and made for a very relaxing stay. Other than that however I had a few issues - the food on the island was terrible - 1 out of 5 would be generous - and the air conditioning not nearly powerful enough to keep you call in balmy Vietnam temperatures. The service at the hotel was efficient enough, but didn't strike me as particularly friendly, nor did they go out of their way to be particularly helpful. The restaurant staff were particularly poor. It was worth it for the view and experience, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Hon Tam resort - island off Nha Trang

We visited Hon Tam in early November. As we arrived we were welcomed and taken by buggy to our rooms. Our room was sorrounded by green, trees and nature, but due to this there was no landscape view at all. A very loud family was satying in the next room. The cleaningness of the room was ok but not great.
As we ventured down to the first pool we found it quite dirty, with renovations taking place and nobody to welcome you. We were the only ones there. I had to go all the way around twice before finding one person to hand me a couple of towels.
We then asked some food menus to order some lunch but we were handed the menus and told to order on the spot, not to take the menus by the pool. Same thing about the drinks, beers handed to us, no glasses, no service.
After lunch we visited the other pool about 300 metres away. We found 3 weddings on the way there having pictures and about 15-20 tourists around the pool. There were no poolside umbrellas to get off the sun and couldn't see a towel station.
We were also extremely disappointed that with many rooms available at the resort they decided to assign to us a room with no landscape view next to a big family. We then realized we were highly unsatisfied with the room and the service and decided to leave the resort earlier, even it that meant losing the booking and the money. Maybe it's anice place to be during peak season as there could be more people around the poools and have better service, but in early november we didn't find many people at all and the service was quite poor.

Glorious spot

We spent 4 days at Hon Tam - an absolutely beautiful spot. A lot about this resort was perfect: views, pools, beach, rooms.
With a little more attention to detail, it would be an absolutely top notch resort.
Room for improvement:
Constant Muzak, relentless, unchanging, ear-numbing during each meal and by the pool.
Food is mediocre at best. Menu is muddled, some of the preset dinners were inedible. Vegetarian pre-set menu included several pork dishes!! Breakfast buffet had a few gems with the bread and fruit.
Overall it is beautiful, but when you looked closely, felt a little like a masterpiece painting that has been maintained by a paint-by-number artist for the last few months. Get rid of the broken and rusted fusball tables in the game gazebo, replace the sun-destroyed furniture on the beach, and replace the white plastic towel/bike station with something that fits with the rest of the architecture.
Staff is very friendly and happy to please, but language could be a problem if needing to communicate anything slightly complex. Would have been nice to have someone check in and get our feedback along the way.
Spa is highly recommended. We had massages and scrubs.
Hard to get in and out of the boat at low tide. Totally banged up my knee because the stairs on the dock were too high.

All in all, a lovely spot for a couple of quiet days away in the sun.

Amazing resort

My husband and I stayed at the resort for 2 nights celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary. The resort, staff and accommodations are amazing. If you want to relax after traveling through the more populated areas in Vietnam this is the place to go. It is one of the most secluded and romantic places I have seen. We are not a resort type of couple, usually we prefer the city but this was a place I will never forget. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect from the moment you arrive. The bungalows are beautiful and peaceful. The best part of the accommodations was the bungalow bathrooms. They are outside of the bungalow in a private garden with a soaking tub and shower. The resort provides boat transportation back and forth to Nha Trang so that you can enjoy the city. The views from the resort are breathtaking and the green pool is the best I have seen. Management delivered a special cake to us for our anniversary which was very thoughtful. Overall our experience was above and beyond what we expected.

Unexpectedly Great

It's such a beautiful resort! Very quiet with a private beach. We went there at the pier and waited for the boat for quite a long time coz' we didnt know the ship schedule. From city to the island is every 20 in an hour. From the island to the city is every 30.

Every staff is always wearing a smile. Our key card didnt work, and went to the security booth for assistance, the guard couldnt speak English, but he's kind enough to use his cell phone to call the reception and offer help. They're all very helpful and polite.

I can just stay on the beach and stare at the sea for the whole day. The scene is just too beautiful. There's some rubbish in the sea, but there're always two staff keep cleaning, so it's not bad at all.

For the room, I especially like the outdoor bathroom!! IT WAS FABULOUS!!! i enjoy every shower I took... haha! The bungalow itself may not be spacious, the high ceiling and windows wall are enough to please you.

They're sweet to write a welcome letter with your name on it. Not only \"Dear Guest\" :) I appreciate this little thing.

The mini bar price is reasonable, so as the room service.

I will definitely go visit again! I just love that place. Although there're many little frogs at night... scared me a little.

아주 좋아요

베트남은 처음이였는데 너무 좋았어요!! 혼탐리조트 한국인 후기가 많이 없던데 정말 한국인보다는 외국인이 훨씬 많았어요!! 방갈로 이용했는데 독채라서 좋았고 다만 가든뷰라서 새소리, 벌레소리가 밤에 들려서 좀 무섭더라구요 ㅋㅋ 그래도 내부에는 벌레 없었어요!! 수영장이 정말 예뻐서 만족했어요~~ 직원들 모두 정말 친절하고 기분 좋은 여행 했어요~~

Die Executive Suite Seaview Zimmer sind sehr groß mit wunderbarem Blick auf das Meer. Man fühlt sich sehr wohl, weil das Resort nicht zu groß und überfüllt ist. Die Atmosphäre ist daher ruhig und entspannt. Reichhaltiges Frühstücksangebot, sauberer Strand, schöner Pool und gutes Massageangebot.

Great place at a calm spot.

Great place for a getaway from all the hustle in town. The place is on an small island with nice clean beach and pool area.

Next to the resort there is a mineral batch och mudspa open to the public. During mid day a bit crowded. If you arrive early,8:30, you have the mud spa for your self. The resort could develop the resortguest handling in order to make it feel more exclusive.

Unser Zimmer war sehr groß, ruhig, mit einem wunderbaren Blick auf das Meer. Frühstück (inkludiert) und Abendessen bieten eine große Auswahl an Speisen und sind geschmacklich gut. Die Hon Tam Insel, der Strand und das Resort sind sauber und nicht so von Touristen aufgesucht wie andere Destinationen in Vietnam. Das Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit. Man fühlt sich sehr wohl und kann gut entspannnen. Alle zwei Stunden geht eine Fähre nach Nha Trang und zurück. Sehr zu empfehlen.

I liked that it was quiet and private, but the resort itself seems old and the room was not too well organised. Also, it took a lot of time to check in after arrival, about 40 minutes without any explanation from the front desk.

ただただのんびり

メインランドとの往復は高速ボートで10分程度とすぐですがホンタム島はのんびり過ごすには最高の場所でした。
レストランは実質一つしかなく3泊滞在したので少し飽きはしましたが料理のクオリティーは高く非常に満足出来ました。
朝食ビュッフェはレベルが高くエッグベネディクトもあったりca phe sua daはスタッフの方がシェイカーで作ってくれてとても美味しかったです。

ヴィラに泊まったので部屋にもプールがありましたが裏側の宿泊客とも共有だったため騒がしかったり気を遣わなければならず少し残念でした。
もちろん広いプールが別にありそちらではパラソルの下でゆっくりくつろげました。

レセプションで泥風呂の予約も出来てカートで連れて行ってくれ便利でした。
のんびりした場所なので仕方ないですが、用があってレセプションに連絡しても時間にはルーズですし頼んだことが通っているか分からずモヤモヤすることが数回ありました。
のんびり過ごすならここでの滞在は2泊くらいがちょうど良さそうです。
