Amazing hotel, right in the best location in Saint Maxime. The rooms are brand new and everything works perfectly. Rooms are a little bit small, but that's ok. Staff very freindly. There is parking right in front if needed. Willd efinitely come back again!

Location and experience was great. Staff was very friendly. Only complaint was that we had a family room and the AC unit did absolutely nothing to cool down the bunk bed area, only the main bedroom. Probably not a huge issue year round but in the high summer season we struggled to sleep.

After a late 1.30am arrival, my wife and I were welcomed and quickly checked in by the friendly and efficient reception team. The Matisse is perfectly located within easy walking distance to the beach as well as a great selection of restaurants, bars and shops. We were especially impressed by the daily aperitif hour where complimentary wine and snacks were served, a lovely touch.

I went to St Tropez that was actually like 15 minutes away. If you are going for few days I would recommend this hotel. Price was great vs actual place.

The hotel is very nice and the staff are very attentive. The hotel and the rooms are very clean. The only problem was our mattress was so very old and completely broken with a few springs broken. It was survivable for 2 nights but desperately needs replacing!

Really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Matisse. Very centrally located to the centre of Sainte Maxime. The hotel is less than a 2min walk to restaurants and shops. The room was a nice size as was the bathroom. Very clean and beach-like colors. Breakfast buffet was simple but nice. Loved sitting on the outdoor patio with the complimentary evening wine & snacks. Reception staff was friendly. Didn’t use pool because it required walking thru backed up water that was only drained at 10-11pm. This was truly my only complaint. Everything else was perfect. Will definitely stay there again

Have never had great experience of UK Best Western's when travelling for work so I usually avoid but had researched Hotel Matisse on hotels.com ahead of my trip.

By the time I arrived in Sainte-Maxime I could not get my data or any city WiFi signal so I approached Hotel Matisse and asked to buy a coffee and use their WiFi whilst I sorted accommodation. The staff were so very kind and so very helpful I decided to book and had a wonderful experience. Exceptionally clean, bathrobe, slippers, coffee machine, cold water, fridge, toiletries and other useful items. Good indoor/outdoor seating areas. Excellent range of breakfast items.

I plan other trips to Sainte-Maxime later this year and would look to stay at Hotel Matisse again.

So very handy for the city/shops/beach and boat trips/buses to St Tropez.

This was a great little hotel close to shops and restaurants in Saint Maxime and a short drive to Saint Tropez. The woman at the front desk was so friendly and helpful- spoke English, German and French (all the languages in our group!). The breakfast was amazing. Rooms are small but very clean, comfortable. Parking across the street.

We chose this hotel blindly after a terrible experience in Arles. We picked a winner. The lobby and room were lovely. It’s a two minute walk to a fun beach. The breakfast was good. It’s right in the middle of the action but it was quiet enough to sleep. Two minute walk to the ferry to St Tropez. I’d hype Sainte Maxime and this hotel to anyone.

I booked last minute and got a good room with lots of room and very clean and comfy bed. The front desk made things so much easier for me because I had a car and the staff took the time to explain where to park for free. It was easy and the staff makes this hotel a 4 star hotel!

The location is the only thing good about the hotel.
Before travelling I asked about parking situation and was \"offered\" a €25 parking package for a day while their website was stating €15. After pointing out this I was offered the €15 parking but nothing was mentioned the cheaper parking was for a night instead of full day.

The receptionist was impatient speaking broken English trying to explaining the parking situation. The only other thing she mentioned was asking us if we wanted breakfast, nothing mentioned about any thing else. We had no idea where the pool was, didnt know wifi password, minibar etc.

The room is tiny, everything is old and odd. The \"view\" of our window is 2 meters away from the wall of the building next door. You need to wait a good 5 minutes before hot water comes to the taps and it was one of those system your shower temperature changes drastically if you use the tap at the same time. Thin metal bedside table that makes total unnecessary loud noise whenever put anything on it.
It is the kind of room you can almost hear sleeping breaths next door.
There was a crying baby in the room next to ours cried all night so we didn't sleep much - not the hotel's fault but we booked our room months ago and checked in fairly early and the hotel didn't seem to be very busy, we could have been offered another room giving the receptionist must knew there was a baby next to our room.

Paid drinks in the fridges, all glass bottles but no sign of bottle opener.

If I ever win the lottery, I would like to live in this hotel. I couldn’t recommend it more highly if you want to visit this area. Ten out of ten.

Worst western!! The first room we were given had rot and black mould all over the bathroom, the air conditioning wasn’t turned on at all in the hotel (because they had it turned off for the winter period, but they advertise air con…) the second room we were given also had mould and the balcony area had fallen in, the third room had mould but was less than the other two rooms, so we took it. The rooms were hot and stuffy and all had mould in them.

The location of the Hotel was fantastic for shops, Restaurants and the beach.

The rooms and bathrooms were on the small side and the air conditioning could have done with a bit more power.

Also the lobby could also do with some AC as very warm.

Breakfast was nice service was a little slow. Location of the parking was excellent.

All in all I would stay again as the staff where very helpful and the location was fantastic the downside was the fixture and fittings.

The walls are way too thin and every night there was someone shouting or screaming in one of the other rooms. We had to get up and go complain at 3am on the reception so they called the rooms and asked them to stop the noice. Then everything starts.again at 7am. The staff and hotel were great, but the guests were terrible. Going there to have some time away from central London didnt really work.

Very good and well located 3 star hotel

It was an extremely well-located hotel just a few minutes walk from all amenities and the beach, and they offered a breakfast/car park deal at 30 euros per night per double room which seemed good value to me for the sake of parking securely. They also offered a 5 euro voucher if you opted not to have your room cleaned that day. There were a few issues with old fashioned or out-dated facilities, most notably the shower arrangement, which was at low level, inviting only hand-held shower usage which to many is unacceptable these days, and does make taking a shower difficult. But it was quiet, in a room on the pool side anyway, and comfortable. You could hear others in neighbouring rooms a little but most guests weren't loud anyway so this wasn't a big issue. The breakfast was a continental choice and very tasty and included a Tropicana juice machine. I wish all hotels had this machine. Their free drinks between 6 and 8 is a nice idea, although we didn't happen to partake in it. The pool was under-used during our stay and yet looked quite inviting, with only a few guests taking advantage of it. It's a bit overlooked and possibly shaded by neighbouring residents' flats so perhaps that's one reason. But with the beach a 5 minute walk away, I'm not that surprised for that reason either. I thoroughly enjoyed staying there and always bore in mind it was only supposed to be a 3 star hotel, but it was a very good example of a hotel at this level. Wifi was not that reliable.

Disappointment Despite Town Centre Location

We were given room 101 (literally)! There was no proper shower only a hand shower in the bath. The mixer tap was dislodged from the wall. There were two cheap-looking plastic chairs in the room to sit on. No tea/ coffee making facilities. Limited English speaking TV channels: CNBC, Bloomberg & a fashion channel. There is no hotel parking although they offered us parking at a nearby multi-storey car park at extra cost (over a tonne for the week) We did not use the small pool. Breakfast was offered to us both at extra cost (over two tonne for the week). It could have been this last point that caused us to end up in room 101 - on declining the receptionist's offer of daily breakfast we ended up in this inferior room - it was also smaller than adjoining rooms according to the floor plan on the corridor wall. Also no balcony and awful view from the room: roof below obscuring pool and overlooked by neighbouring high rise buildings. I am not sure it would get a 3 star rating in the UK.

Charming little hotel in the middle of Sainte Maxi

Located perfectly. Two minutes walk to the port, nearby restaurants and old town. For 15 euro a day you can use the hotels pass for the nearby multi story car park. Worth the expense for the convenience.

Booked a family room for the four of us and got a queen size bed and a bunk for the kids. The room was very comfortable, spacious and modern. The only thing I'd fault was the bathroom which is very old. There is a shower bath with a mixer tap but there isn't anywhere you can hang the head to have a stand up shower.

Love the little pool. Enjoyed relaxing on the sunbeds.

The hotel provides complimentary drinks and snacks between 7 and 8 pm which I really enjoyed because it started the evening off perfectly.

Good location noisy hotel small room spoilt stay

Loved the location and the happy 😃 hour unfortunately we were given the sallest room in the hotel which was above the garage which housed the noisy air con plant for the hotel. We were woken all night when it kicked in which was constantly no internet connection in the room you had to sit in reception. When we checked into the hotel and saw the room we asked to be moved as it was so small if 2 people were in the room one person had to sit on the bed, we pointed out to the reception that we had booked over six months ago and wished to change rooms, the response was non we asked to speak to the manager and was told no there is not one.
The bathroom was tired and tatty the shower bottom the paint had come off no fan in the bathroom and the hairdryer only worked on cold. No shampo or body location in the bathroom bizarrely only a sewing kit shower dap and shoe shining sponge.
In the four nights we stayed we couldn’t sleep for the noise this was due to the location of the room the bikes arrive back late and left early delivery’s were made under our room window. It’s such a shame as St Maxine is lovely if we could have moved rooms it would have been a lovely stay.

Ste Maxime is wonderful for a holiday. Staff at the Matisse Hotel could not have been more charming or helpful. This hotel deserves 10 out of 10 for everything. We will certainly return if we are able. This is not our first visit to the Matisse. Hopefully it will not be our last.

We spent two nights here and couldn't have picked a better hotel - the staff were incredibly friendly and couldn't do enough for us (the complementary evening aperitif by the pool won us over too!). Room was a good size, quiet and very comfortable - only suggestion would be to possibly provide a second pillow as the ones provided were very soft, but that's more a personal preference than a reflection on the hotel to be fair! Breakfast was lovely, and overall we really enjoyed relaxing here. You're a 2 minute walk to the beach and main streets, with tens of wonderful restaurants close by too. Will be returning!

We are cycle touring and anywhere that is easy to store bikes is an advantage. We found the receptionist excellent, very welcoming and friendly. The room exceeded expectations, lovely and quiet and there was no hardship in overlooking the swimming pool. A good walking location for food as well.

First things first. I wanna say that the staff was excellent! Aurielle was the absolute best, along with the others. The (old guy) manager ehhh that's another story. Anyway, the rooms were smal but suitable. Location was excellent. Only a walk away from the beach. St tropez is a shirt boat ride away. The pool was very nice as well. Not too many complaints about this hotel. I'd probably stay again...

Das Hotel befindet sich sehr zentral in Saint-Maxime. Direkt gegenüber und 50 Meter weiter gibt es zwei Parkhäuser wo man sein Auto über Nacht lassen kann. Das Hotel bietet dafür für 23€ pro Tag Sonderkonditionen. In Oktober konnte man nachts auch zwischen 19 und 9 Uhr kostenlos entlang der Straße parken. Ab 22-23 Uhr gabs dafür genug Plätze. Frühstück ist ausreichend und lecker. Das Pool ist entweder unbeheizt oder war bereits ausgeschaltet, weil es Anfang Oktober bei dem Wetter nicht mehr angenehm war am Pool abzuhängen. Die Zimmer wurden vor einiger Zeit renoviert und sehen noch gut aus. Sauber und aufgeräumt. Unser Zimmer war relativ klein, aber ausreichend für zwei Personen. Die Dusche ist auch nicht riesig, aber ausreichend, neu und gepflegt. Unser Zimmer hatte das Fenster Richtung Straße. Nachts gibt es etwas Lärm durch die Glasssammelstelle direkt dem Hotel gegenüber und durch die vorbeifahrende Autos, es hat uns aber beim Schlafen mit einem geschlossenen Fenster nicht gestört. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und würden dort wieder übernachten.

Leuk klein hotel alleen de kamer was te klein weinig kast ruimte. We moesten het tafeltje inklappen en de 2 stoelen op elkaar stapelen. Onze koffer moest open onder het bed geschoven worden en de helft van onze kleding paste in de de kast . Was wel een koffiezet automaatje met lekkere koffie . Ontbijt was goed er was van alles gekookte eieren yogurt met cerials lekker vers brood goede koffie en het ontbijtpersoneel was heel vriendelijk. De rest van de dames die smiddags werkte waren heel aardig . Alleen de dame die in de ochtend werkte achter de receptie was erg stug en uit de hoogte ze denkt dat ze bij de hilton hotel werkt .erg onsympathiek . Tijdens het uitchecken vroeg ze niet eens hoe ons het hotel was bevallen. Helemaal niks. Alleen moesten we de toeristen belasting betalen .we wenste ons niet eens een prettige dag of reis Erg jammer
