Borgo Egnazia is far from a resort, it represents rather a new concept of hospitality. Its creation was inspired by the beautiful Apulian land whereIt was born, a striking architectural force that reveals the magic of Puglia with contemporary and unique style.

The Melpignano family has a vision: combining Puglia with luxury, refined hospitality, cultural richness and elite tourism. It all started in 1996 with Masseria San Domenico, originally the family's private    vacation home and later following a careful interpretation of the living spaces, “La Masseria” (The Masseria), a 5L-Leading Hotels of the World and the model of Apulian luxury hospitality.

Borgo Egnazia was built entirely of tufo, a local type of limestone and cut by the skilled hands of tufo masters. The architect and set designer, Pino Brescia, was inspired by Puglia's farms and rural villages, from nature and from simplicity.

The stately construction is a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, modernity and authenticity, mightiness and simplicity.


With a stay at Borgo Egnazia in Fasano, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Torre Canne Beach and San Domenico Golf Club. This beach hotel is 8.2 mi (13.2 km) from Zoosafari and 15.9 mi (25.6 km) from The Trulli of Alberobello.

A truly world class hotel. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The concierge staff in particular went above and beyond normal expectations. The property is very well situated to explore the many must see towns in Puglia. Would advise to rent a car

Amazing hotel

This hotel is amazing. The architecture and the decor are stunning, like nothing I have seen before. The service is exceptional from the moment you arrive until you leave.
We did not go to the restaurants, but we did have a delicious ice-cream at the Gelati.
Three things to look into, the WiFi is not very strong, the beach/pool towels are old and fraying and there was no hair conditioner in the bathroom. I must say that after asking the very helpful receptionist for some conditioner, 3 little plastic bottles were delivered to the room. Having said that i can’t wait to come back, this hotel is just wonderful

A special romantic getaway- highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing stay! It was such a special trip for our anniversary and the hotel staff couldn’t have been more lovely to make sure that every moment we had at Borgo was exactly what we had hoped for. Highly recommend a visit to the spa for a massage and dip in the pool. The restaurants on site were gorgeous and the food absolutely delicious!

The hotel is amazing. The cleanliness, the rooms, the bathrooms and the decoration are amazing. The spa is also good, not amazing.
I was disappointed with the food. There was nothing that i had that was very good, the opposite. The breakfast also below average.
If there is one thing that the hotel should improve is around the food/meals. All very fancy, but not very tasteful. It is not even compatible with the rest of the hotel.

The room we got was super dark and humid, and did not meet our expectations.

1. Beach club needs improvement. It’s beautiful but they should come around with cold fruit, offer complementary water stations and complementary sunscreen stations. The bathrooms and changing rooms are tiny and basic.
2. breakfast quality was average
3. Absolutely loved riding bike to the beach club.
4. Perhaps put it in print and be sure to tell people not to taste the salt that is in the room
5. Best dessert of my life. The outdoor vegetarian restaurant pastry chef is a genius. The fruit vegetable rose infused dessert blew us away. And I usually prefer chocolate. I’m so glad I went with her suggestion
6. The design and feel of this place is magical. We will perhaps be back.
7. Good echo measures with their large ceramic soap and water bottle that you take with you. They will refill it as you wish.

I've stayed at top hotels before, however, none tops Borgo Egnazia! The facility is amazing and it's like you're transported to this magical place somewhere out there... To top it all off, we had the most enchanted night having dinner at the Hotel's piazza and there was a festival going on with music, top gastronomy and wine. The room itself, is the most spacious and comfortable and the staff was simply amazing. in addition, we went to a few small towns nearby that were amazing. We can't wait to go back!

Beautiful rustic hotel if you want peace & quiet

The hotel is beautiful in its own rustic way. Its a really family friendly resort that looks really safe. The kids club has a range of activities happening pretty much all day long on a daily basis. They have multiple outdoor pools as well as a pretty decent indoor pool. There is nothing much around the hotel itself so its best to rent a car - especially given local 'taxi / limo' service is super expensive. The area is full of olive trees, beautiful nature and the hotel is 5 min away from the sea with a shuttle going every 20 minutes. There is no sandy beach per say - its all rocky so not really swimmable. There isn't much to do in the area so don't expect a super exciting vacation - its more about about relaxation and enjoying the peace & quiet. The only disadvantage I'd say is the food at the hotel could use significant improvement. We tried room service + 2 of the 3 restaurants. Best thing they have is pizza. Menus are pretty limited and the food just isn't that good!

The architecture and design details are beautiful. The bedrooms feel like a house within a stunning village. Our favourite part of the trip was riding our bicycles to the beach.
The only issue is the high cost of everything. After paying the astronomical price for the stay, which you can make sense of it, it doesn’t feel right to be paying £20++ for a tiny salad in Puglia.
You feel you are constantly being ripped off.
I think their pricing in restaurants and any other services is outrageous.
They definitely feel that if you can afford the room, you are happy to pay €200 for kids menu and a couple of salads/pasta...

5 star luxury in Puglia

Borgo Egnazia is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. It's gorgeous, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the location is perfect for exploring nearby Puglia. Further, the hotel has wonderful amenities ranging from great restaurants, pools and spa facilities. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind as well.

Wow is the best word to describe this hotel.. it is truly paradise. Staff are super helpful all the time.. the grounds are beautiful.. if you want to treat yourself for 2/3 nights this is the place to do it!! Literally 1 thing that could be improved is the wifi connection around the pool... apart from that is hotel is faultless and magical!

Unique and Creative Luxury

Absolutely perfect. This place is truly an experience like no other. The service, the thoughtfulness of everything they did, the uniqueness, the smell (could not get over how amazing it smelled!) and the brilliance of the creativity of whoever designed and decorated this place was memorable, jaw-dropping, inspiring, and outstanding. We felt like family from the moment we entered the gate. Didn't even leave the property during our (too) short 2.5 day stay. THANK YOU!

Really an unbelievable gem of modern Italian design and hospitality off the beaten path in Puglia
Wonderful pool, spa, lounge areas, and restaurants with very inventive locally sourced cuisine
Engagingly warm and caring staff ...all proficient in English and multiple other languages...who want you to enjoy every minute of your stay and return next season
And, much more reasonably priced than similar properties on the Almafi coast, or in a larger city....
A wonderful stay and we will skip Rome and Venice and Florence next trip to come here exclusively
Tip: fly into Bari or Brindisi and rent a car...the roads are very good and with Google Maps, you won’t get lost. Use the Borgo as a Home Base as you do day trips to Ostunia, Monopoli, Brindisi, and many other smaller towns which each have a fascinating history, stunning architecture and unforgettable trattorias with exquisite food

Puglia is where the Italians themselves vacation...why shouldn’t you enjoy it?

fantastic everything!!

Loved everything about this resort. The decor, gym, food, pools, room all excellent. Breakfast was such a treat with fresh custom juice and everything one could imagine! Everyone was exceptionally accommodating and polite. Definitely perfect place to relax, enjoy the sunrise and sunset. The bedroom & bath were like a private retreat. It was also nice to see families are welcome.
Having done much traveling, this is rated the best and look forward to our return.

Stunning resort in charming old world region.

The Borgo is a magnificent resort located in a region of Italy that is not that well known. Beautiful pools, outstanding spa and excellent beach with full restaurant. Highly recommend the dinner in the square which is offered one night per week with live music and delicious food.

Special place!

The experience started the moment you arrived, and didn't stop for one minute! Staff and service were incredible, facilities amazing, ambience very perfect. We enjoyed an amazing BBQ dinner our first night in the outdoor piazza - live music (John was incredible!), great food, fun dancing! Lunch by the beach was delicious and had a great, chill vibe. We also enjoyed just sitting in the bar area on the couches, reading and drinking super wine! Spa was pricey but worth it. Golf was fun but not amazing. Breakfast is included and beyond delicious - so, so yummy!! I rated the room comfort only a 4 as the beds weren't the best, but the rest of the room was fabulous. Definitely coming back one day! It was a special 40th birthday trip for my husband, and it didn't disappoint!

Amazing locale catering to your total comfort. Everything is easy, extremely pleasant staff in a magical environment. The only comment was the food needs to be tweaked as it is not to the standard of the resort although very pricey. The restaurant at their sister property San Domenico was far superior. The resort is well managed and well worth every penny as we left reinvigorated.

Family friendly, romantic, and beautiful! We knew the hotel would be gorgeous but we didn't expect how accommodating it would be to all types of guests - babies, children, families, couples, friends, honeymooners, elderly. We were pleasantly surprised by how well taken care of we were - we had nothing booked in advance and just came to relax. We ended up doing an activity each day that was arranged thoughtfully by the hotel's local adviser dedicated to us and still had plenty of time for relaxation at the many pools and in the spa!

Unbelievably Beautiful

One of the most beautiful and well done hotels I have ever stayed in....definitely 5 stars. The attention to detail and the furnishings and decorative items are breathtaking. The breakfast buffet plus the ability to additionally order from the menu at no additional charge, was exceptional. We were pampered and loved it. The concierge knew everything about the area. Parking is free as is the valet service. We hope to return.

It was exactly what we were looking for: a perfect relaxing week. Staff in all areas of the hotel was outstandingly friendly, helpful and competent.....and always had a smile on their face.
A problem with tire pressure on the rental car was solved within minutes, the shuttle service to the beach would remember that you were the only guests left out there and come to pick you up, even individually - we were regaled in every way!

This is one of the best hotels I have ever visited. It's immaculate in every respect. If there's one thing that's better the hotel condition, decor and location then it's the people who look after you when during your stay. They are extremely professional, friendly and welcoming. Wonderful hotel with a wonderful team!

It was a wonderful stay!!! It is a great hotel, beautiful, where a single detail among hundreds makes this hotel one of the finest I have stopped. The service is to be compared with asian 5 stars hotels where I stopped in Thailand and in the Philippines. I deeply and highly recommend this hotel even if you do not plan to play golf. You will enter in a new galaxy and will forget your \"world\" for a few nights! The pictures on the website cannot even reflect the beauty and elegance of this place.

Great family holiday resort.

This is a stand alone self contained family friendly resort hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. We stayed there for six nights with three adult children, their spouses and six grand children from four months to 11 years old. There are lots to do for all. We all had a good time and will go back again if there is an opportunity.

Good, with a few tweaks needed.

No housekeeping service before 9am is strange for a 5-star accommodation.
Ordered a specific car to take me to airport and the request was not fulfilled (a different, much lower-quality, car showed up, without me being informed first). I had to pay same price on top of that!

We had a fantastic stay at Borgo Egnazia, after a little difficulty finding the place, due to our sat nav , the warm welcome started at the gate and followed on from there. The hotel is stunning the rooms are equally beautiful but its the warm friendly attentive staff that are the jewel of this hotel. We enjoyed twelve days here and we can not fault it, and we are well travelled so our standards are high but Borgo Egnazia past with flying colours. We look forward to our return.
