A very special experience that we will always remember. The staff and breakfast were absolutely amazing! The place is rustic and we met the most darling little kitty on the property. I would highly recommend for a quiet stay.

Its different. We loved using the Terrace, and had cocktails there every night. Roberto the GM and Chef, treated us like family and cooked whatever we wanted. Its home cooking - nothing fancy - but made with love. It’s close to the beach - so they tell us - we never made it - but not close to town. It’s a 200 year old building, so dont expect modern amenities. But it is authentic.

Amazing staff

This hotel is gorgeous, the terrace has amazing views, the restaurant is beautiful, the pool is great and I loved all the plants around. Also great location, the beach is five minutes away and there are great restaurants with good prices around.
However for me the biggest pro of this hotel is the staff. We needed to get a PCR test and the receptionist went above and beyond to schedule this for us. It’s a pity I didn’t get his name but he was the one that welcomed us in the hotel on Sunday, July 18th. He not only managed to book us the test but got the lab to bring someone over to the hotel for it and printed all the forms for us beforehand. We could see how stressful the whole logistics were but he made sure we were enjoying our time there while he took care of it. The staff in the restaurant was also brilliant, always checking if we needed anything and bringing coffees and eggs promptly. Grazie mille a tutti!

Very nice hotel however our standard room had the smallest shower I have ever seen and the bed was the hardest mattress.We spent 2 weeks in Puglia this was our most expensive room

Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The room was clean but with a very very small shower. We did not like the small and type of blankets on the bed. At first the duvet was outside the cover, with only a duvet with a sheet - no duvet cover! And it was not a good quality duvet and was quite horrible to sleep under it! They did not understand our complaint about this at first but after we showed them they have put duvet covers on the beds with the duvets inside.

Wexcellent choice in Puglia

Central location for many of the Puglia attreactions. Very friendly staff, excellent included breakfast buffet and very good restaurant at reasonable pricing. Very good value. Can be difficult to find since gps does not necessarily respond to the address given on thewwebsites. Should indicate it is located in Capitolo on Strada 163...

Lots of problems

Due to a recent storm there were many problems no Internet on first day, air conditioning was far too cold but unable to be adjusted, the nearby beach wasn't available. Given these issue and the cost of the stay i would have thought the hotel would have provided a discount , however staff , whilst apologetic didn't offer anything.
Further the breakfast was very average for the traffic , eg no eggs on the day and not bacon . Only a cold breakfast was on offer. The shower was the smallest I have ever experienced in my travels. I wouldn't recommend nor will i be staying there again.

Rustic, Beautiful Hotel W/ Great Customer Service

The hotel service at this hotel was above and beyond what I anticipated. My electric adapter on my hair dryer broke (right before a wedding I was attending) and one of the hotel employees ran around looking for a new hair dryer for me -with success!

This hotel is in a rustic, beautiful little town and there is much to do in surrounding towns.

Fabulous Time at the Masseria Fortificata Donnaloi

We had a fabulous time at this hotel.It is situated close to most of the best tourist areas in Puglia. The staff, especially Fransesco at reception, were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were comfortable and kept very clean and the food in the restaurant at the hotel was very good but could do with offering specials and a variation on the menu.

Old school charm

We had a wonderful 3 nights here in July. The food in the restaurant is fantastic. Each meal was a delight - although a shame it wasn't busier. The only criticism we had was that the outside areas need some comfier seating - it's lacking some relaxation space and has the room to do it! The pool area is great, but very popular. The private beach area is great and the beach bar does some great pasta dishes. It was a great place to stay after being in Ostuni for 8 nights.

This hotel rated as a five star on Expedia is nowhere close to being a five star. The rooms were very tiny, the beach was closed, there were no facilities available to us. The fitness center looked like it had not been used in quite some time surrounded by four walls outside and under umbrellas that looked like they were going to fall on our heads.
The staff however were kind.

We visited just as the weather was changing and it rained. Still, the facilities are lovely. Rooms are a bit small but well appointed. Definitely should be rated four stars rather than five.

Struttura bella, ben gestita, in ottima posizione. L’unica spiaggia raggiungibile a piedi è pessima ma c’è ne sono diverse nel giro di un paio di km. Cenare nella masseria non è secondo me conveniente. Colazione ottima. Stanze spaziose, silenzio e relax.

Besseres Management wäre wünschenswert

Die Zimmer waren in Ordnung - Betten waren sehr gut. Die Anlage ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen - die Angaben aus dem Angebot stimmen jedoch leider nicht mit der Realität überein. Wir haben drei Tage gebucht und nachdem nach zwei Tagen noch immer kein Internet zur Verfügung stand, haben wir das Zimmer gewechselt. Das Hotel befindet sich auch nicht am Strand. Ein nicht sehr schöner Strand ist fussläufig in ca. 10 Minuten erreichbar oder es fährt täglich 3x ein shuttle Bus an einen schöneren Strand. Wenn man das Abendessen im Hotel genießen möchte, kostet es 50 EUR pro Person statt der immer noch angegebenen 35 EUR. Fazit: unter einem besseren Management und mit einer gepflegteren Anlage und mit etwas Modernisierung könnte es wieder zu einem Juwel werden, weil das alte Gemäuer schon einen gewissen Charme versprüht.

Dommage que le service n'est pas à la hauteur. Pas de machine à café dans les chambres, malgré nos demandes, un petit déjeuner qui commence à 8h du matin et pas avant, des serviettes de plages payantes .... Chaque demande faite à l'air de leur couter!

Et si on apprenait le respect?

Cet hôtel ressemble à un match sur une appli de rencontre, on est séduit par les photos mais quand on se rencontre en vrai, on constate que les photos datent d’il y a + de 10 ans. Ils vont même jusqu’à mettre des faux rochers le long de l’allée centrale mais comme ils sont abîmés, on voit qu’ils sont faux 🙄 si un doute persiste, les matelas déchirés de la piscine finiront de vous donner la tendance.
Mais le plus embêtant, c’est que le restaurant (en plein air du côté des chambres) peut être privatisé…ce qui fut hélas notre cas, donc impossible de dormir ou de s’entendre même penser dans ces cas-là! Donc si vous devez séjourner dans cet hôtel, assurez-vous qu’aucune soirée privée ne soit prévue! Pensez quand même à vos bouchons d’oreilles parce que le réfrigérateur, aussi vieux que la bâtisse, vous réveillera de toutes façons plusieurs fois dans la nuit…
Dommage parce que entretenu et surtout en respectant un minimum les clients qui louent une chambre, l’endroit pourrait être sympa.

Sehr schönes 200 Jahre altes Gebäude.
Zimmer sauber und audentisch zum Gebäude. Betten okey, Frühstück mit frischen Früchten, Brot nur süssen Croissant, Rührei, Aufschnitt und Käse, es reicht jedoch für uns.

Not as good as expected

The rate of this location seems to be a 5*, but honestly cannot be anything more than 3*. the location itself is not bad, but really nothing special. The guys at reception were fine, but they did not propose any of the possible services till explicit request based on the info we got from internet (e.g. pool, spa, restaurant). Explanation about the possibility to have dinner at their restaurant was so poor that we could not even imagine to thinck about.
the room was small a bit old as condition, but nice and overall comfortable. what is not acceptable for any hotel level but mainly for a 5* (so said) the waste bin in the bathroom was not cleared after the former guests...
It was just for one night, then ok. But I will remember to not go again.

Uppfyller inte 5 stjärnor status, ganska ovårdad trädgård o blomkrukor,grusig uppfart med dålig belysning, mörkt från grinden nästan fram till huvudbyggnaden.
Av 3 frukostar fanns bacon endast den sista morgonen pga vår tidiga avresa. De andra 2 frukostar intog vi strax efter 09.
Restaurangen hade endast 1 fast meny att erbjuda .Erhållen meny vid 17 tiden var ändrad när vi skulle äta vid 20.Gick inte att få något av det ursprungliga.
Sängen ribbotten ,ganska obekväm.Lyhört rum.
Oordnad parkering ,grus och högt gräs.

Ospitalità di basso livello ad alto prezzo

Le Cinque stelle sono totalmente fuori luogo. La camera assegnatami era un seminterrato buio e umido. Ho richiesto immediatamente un'altra sistemazione che mi è stata concessa, ma negli ultimi due giorni di soggiorno sono dovuto ritornare nella stanza seminterrata, sul pavimento passeggiava un discreto numero di formiche. La ristorazione interna è ad un livello non accettabile. Il menù è stampato su fogli di cartoncino decorato e plastificato e, naturalmente, non è cambiato per tutto il periodo. Logico sospettare l'utilizzo di semipreparati, assente la verdura fresca se non in forma di insalata mista.
