Our stay at Don Ferrante was absolutely magical. The hotel is perched on the cliffs of Monopoli’s old town, with stunning views over the Adriatic and a beautifully restored historic charm throughout. The atmosphere is peaceful and elegant, and the location couldn’t be better for exploring the town on foot.
The suite we had was amazing – spacious, stylish and full of character. The bathroom was a real highlight, with beautiful finishes and a luxurious feel. The bed was incredibly comfortable, making it hard to leave in the mornings.

The staff were warm, professional and attentive, making us feel truly looked after from the moment we arrived. Everything about our stay felt special, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

We’ve had an incredible holiday staying at Carlos V suite in an annex building just down the lungomare from the main boutique hotel.
We had our own rooftop terrace with sun beds and chairs and a Juliet balcony to watch people go by during the evening whilst drinking primitivo wine.
All the hotel staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful and the food at their restaurant was outstanding.
Monopoli is a perfect base to stay and hire a car to take you to other quaint historic towns such as Polignano a mare, Ostuni and Alberobello. We took the train from monopoli to Leece for the day too.
We particularly loved Monopoli and the daily 3 minute walk to breakfast was enjoyable.
We certainly recommend staying at Don Ferrante and in the Carlos V suite as it had everything we needed.
Monopoli has many bars and restaurants too and is a very picturesque old town, next to the Castello.
We will return again one day . Thank you so much

Lovely property however if you are arriving by car because of construction almost impossible to find even with GPS. After driving around for about 45 minutes had to stop & call hotel to get us.Everything else was as advertised, nice breakfast,beautiful room and location and a friendly staff

A bit difficult to find in the old city with a car. They also did not tell us that door would be locked and buzzer was not obvious. Otherwise room was wonderful in townhouse. Breakfast was terrific and Monopoli was the finest town yet on this Puglian adventure. We wished we had stayed another night. They also took care of our car and brought luggage and us to our room! Not that way for use in Matera where cost of room exceeded DFb

This is a unique property right on the water in the old town of Monopoli. We just came at a bad time of year when the restaurant was shut as were many of the businesses in town. It never stopped raining and it felt like the ocean waves might come rugbt in the room. I would definitely go again when the weather is warmer

From the amazingly appointed and clean rooms to the wonderful and kind and professional staff this hotel is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The location could not have been better. The breakfast every morning was amazing. I just can't say enough how much we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We look forward to coming back soon..

The location was the best we experienced in Puglia. It’s located in the Old Town right on the Adriatic. We had a roof top garden and balcony that overlooked the sea. The staff was very friendly and professional. The suites are not all located in the same building but their location added to the charm. Monopoli is a must place to stay.

We had a lovely stay here! The room was very clean with lots of space and great amenities. The locating of the hotel is perfect on the old town and close by a beach. The staff also parks your car on arrival for you and drives you to it on checkout time. We definitely recommend this hotel and thank everyone for a great stay!

Top Notch! Definitely a 5 star! We had the best experience in Monopoli staying at Don Ferrante, the staff was very accommodating and the room was amazing and tight in the water. Morning breakfast was included and such an array of fabulous choices. This hotel is conveniently located right next to restaurants, shopping and the beach. We never left the property because everything was in walking distance. We’d definitely refer our friends and would stay her again for sure!

A wonderful stay.

Perfectly located in the Old Town of Monopoli, the Don Ferrante lived up to all expectations and more. The suite in the guest house was very comfortable and stylish with a beautiful roof terrace overlooking the sea. Everything here ran to perfection, the restaurant was lovely and the staff so helpful, it was a really beautiful experience and a wonderful stay.

Fantastic hotel. It's split into three buildings and we stayed in a room that was in the townhouse and loved it. The staff were all excellent and extremely helpful. We had many great dinners on this Italian trip but the best one we both agree was actually at this hotels rooftop restaurant - food, setting and service were fantastic. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed in a stunning room which was meticulously cleaned each day. All the staff were so attentive & friendly. We particularly enjoyed our pre-dinner drinks at the rooftop bar served by the charming Francisco. Breakfast was delicious each day, highly quality food in a relaxed and comfortable setting.
We had a truly fantastic stay at a hidden gem hotel in the heart of the beautiful Monopoli.

Beautiful property with amazing views of the ocean. Plenty of dining areas within easy walking distance.

Staff were extremely helpful and resolved any issues swiftly, which made the stay super enjoyable! Would definitely stay again.

Just to note - our room was fairly small so if you are travelling with large bags, it can be a bit of a squeeze however this was expected.

Great Hotel with real customer service

The hallmark of a good hotel is that when something does not go as planned, it is rectified to the satisfaction of the customer. Don Ferrante is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location and the rooms cannot be faulted, nor the breakfast. We had a problem which we brought to the attention of the management, and while we did not expect any compensation, they went beyond our expectations in making amends. Congratulations to them as many hotels would not care less. I would highly recommend.any person to stay there.

Its a very historic and picturesque location but our room was just too small. Couldn’t even open our suitcases in there. Two sun loungers by the pool so easily overcrowded. Rooftop restaurant has great views but the food is too expensive and didn’t taste much. Overall really poor value for money.

Perfect two nights.

We had the suite which was stunning both inside and with the magical view overlooking the sea. The decor was spot on and the level of comfort was top rate.
The service was very friendly and helpful too.
Really could not fault it. The pictures don’t do it justice.
Only criticisms are:
A) the suite has the restaurant above it so you hear the chairs scraping on the bedroom ceiling until 12.30am.
B) the breakfast is inside (assume because of point a - it would wake up the guests early).

But don’t let the two very minor points put you off. We loved it and would 100% return and stay in the same suite again.

As it’s so small and the rooms are individual it’s worth looking at how each room differs - but ours, the don ferrante suite was perfect.

We stayed for just one night in the hotel and wish we had longer! The room was gorgeous, the staff were great and the view from the terrace was awesome. They even left a bottle of Prosecco and a nice welcome letter in our room for us as it was the first night of our honeymoon. The hotel is in a fantastic location with easy access to the main restaurants, bars and shops. Would highly recommend staying here!

No Car Park!

When working abroad I always want a hotel with free parking to take the hassle out of trying to decipher local rules and charges. Despite filtering for 'free parking' this hotel came up and DID NOT have a car park. I don't know if this is the establishments fault or Hotels.com's. Either way it was extremely inconvenient. The hotel itself wad lovely and had I not been on business would have been perfect.

This is great hotel for your stay in Monopoli. It's in the old town on the seafront. Everything you need is within a few minutes walk. The staff were very helpful. There is free parking around 300 metres away, 2-3 minutes walk.

Don Ferrante is an excellent hotel oozing with character and staff who go out of their way to help you. Its location is perfect overlooking the sea with everything you can possibly need within easy walking distance.
Only one slight disappointment which others might like to think about when looking for dates to stay. We were at the the Don Ferrante from 3-10 September 2018 which despite the beautiful weather is classed as low season by the hotel . The drawback of this is that you cant have dinner in the evening on the terrace with its wonderful views.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Don Ferrante - it is such a beautiful hotel with the best ocean views. Our room was really spacious and comfortable. The staff could not do enough for us from check in and throughout our stay. Alessio is fantastic in the restaurant - make sure to grab the ocean view seats at breakfast! Monopoli itself is a bustling port town and Don Ferrante is well situated to explore all of its best culinary offering!

Great time!
- Clean and comfortable.
- Friendly, helpful staff (most speak English).
- Email to coordinate pickup/drop off at Monopoli train station via \"tuk tuk\" (like a large golf cart).
- Pool isn't huge but is clean and great for cooling off, good views.
- Breakfast was tasty with lots of options for everyone (including gluten free).
- Recommend water shoes if you're planning on swimming, which is easy to do right off of the hotel (entrance through breakfast room).
- Parking is difficult in this area of Old Town. Reserve the Don Ferrante's car (a Fiat 500 convertible I think) rather than renting your own.
- Lots of stairs so not recommended for individuals with mobility issues.
- Air conditioning in bedrooms, not in bath or hallway/closet but wasn't an issue. Keep bathroom and hallway/closet doors closed when not in the room and you'll be fine.

We had a great time and would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Great location. This is a small hotel (13 rooms) yet staffing and service are excellent. There is a small pool but there're only two lounges to lie on. People tend to hog them so go early. They have an arrangement with a private beach for which you pay for access. They advertise a free shuttle but it only leaves at 10 am and returns at 5 pm. Otherwise, you have to pay 25 euros for transportation. There is a nearby public beach.

Fabulous boutique hotel, with incredible service.

Spent the most idyllic weekend away at The Donn Ferrante hotel in Monopoli. Everything was pristine and wonderful. The staff ( especially Valentina!) were very knowledgeable and helpful and no request was too much of an effort. Incredible service and a wonderful celebration for us. Well worth the money.

Beautiful hotel in walks of charming town

The don ferrante was a fabulous place to stay. Beautiful hotel in the city walls. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. Bathroom was fabulous, fantastic shower. Out balcony looked out onto the old town . Roof top terrace great for sitting out relaxing and enjoying the sea views. Breakfast was great.
Just sad we could only stay one night!

Fabulous ocean front hotel with stunning views

Chic rustic (if that makes sense) hotel in old city center of Monopoli. Meticulously maintained, right on ocean. Great base to explore Puglia, easy day trips to Alberobello etc. Sonia at the reception was exceptionally helpful with parking info, restaurant and sight seeing tips. Very warm and welcoming staff, would highly recommend.

We loved this hotel and the staff. It is very elegant and the location on the water in the historical district cant be beat in Monopoli. Parking was the major negative for us. It is very problematic at this hotel, as there is none, and the street closes down for the night, so you must park 10-15 min walk away (if you can find space) if you arrive after 8PM.

A Little Oasis

We spent 4 nights in the Don Ferrante, while we explored Puglia. When we arrived we had parked our car in the harbour car park and after asking directions we walked to the hotel which is located down narrow streets overlooking the sea. The receptionist spoke excellent english and told us that we couldn't leave our car at the harbour but not to worry as they would fetch our luggage and park the car in a more convenient car park .
Our room was superb and overlooked the old town. There is a beautiful roof terrace where you can sit and look out over the Adriatic sea and there is a lovely little pool too although it wasn't warm enough to try it while we were there.
An excellent breakfast is served in there restaurant next door - do try to sit in the window, the view is stunning!
