Breathtaking views with charm

The hotel is in a stunning, quiet location with fantastic views of the beautiful beach below; the swimming pool is lovely and our suite was huge, had a large patio with sun deck chairs and a jacuzzi! Lovely.
The rooms could do with some furniture and maintenance, including nicer bathroom fittings and showers that drain, but, for the price we paid in high season in Mykonos, it was great. The staff and the manageress are all just lovely and helpful.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff was kind and helpful. The beach is a short walk downhill. The breakfast is included and has a nice selection. The only inconvenience is that it is on the opposite side of the island as the town. So, it is about 30 minutes from the tourist side of Mykonos. However, it is peaceful and beautiful.

Beautiful views but that’s about it. The front desk reception is not helpful. Very “oh well attitude.” If you are going to stay here, make sure you get car rental…. If not you will literally spend your days in the room not mention starve—there is no food store or restaurants. The closest one is a beach restaurant that over charges you. Even the hotel tries to over charge you with 5euro water. Not sure how this place is “4 stars.” Even the breakfast was mediocre I’ve stayed in hotel inns with better food and for less

Although far from main action which Mykonos is famous for it is near a beautiful beach with good restaurants. The breakfast at Pietra e Mare restaurant is delicious and so is the lunch and dinner menu although limited it is delicious and well presented. Pool is great and the view from the place is breathtaking

I have never done a review, but this property left a bad impression. I paid for an upgraded room, there was no space to put my belongings in. The bathroom had a large open face concept with no shelf’s any where. I had to put my shampoo, conditioner and others items on the floor. Room was extremely dirty hair everywhere and I found a bug under my pillow!!! It was just a room with a bed and table. Looks nothing like the picture. Everything is away from all the fun attractions. Get ready to pay about 50 Bucks per way for a 15 min drive to the main area. The staff does not care if you’re unhappy. Bunch of young kids working there. Also my sister came to visit me, which she stayed at another hotel and they wouldn’t let her even visit. I’ve never stayed at a property with these kinds of rules. I went to go visit her and there was no issue and she stayed in a much more beautiful resort. Take my word for it, there so many beautiful resorts or hotels for the amount of money we paid here. I wish I would of stayed at another different property. They don’t even have room service!!! Just Horrible!! The worst part was our beds very uncomfortable, sheets were rough and bed felt lumpy!

We had our flight at 8 we asked only for a late check out even paid we set at the restaurant like 5 hours doing nothing and the petioles was smelling bad too and we asked for a 2 chairs to put them at the balcony no one answered so didn’t like at all first and last time

Highly recommend! 10/10!
I added a night once my first few nights were up and both rooms were amazing!
I first had a king suite with a private deck that had seating for 8 and amazing water views. Both beds were super comfortable. The honeymoon suite (2nd room) was essentially a loft with a bathroom and couch downstairs and the bed was upstairs. It was a completely separate structure with a private jacuzzi outside.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly. They have a restaurant on site with amazing views as this hotel sits above the Solymar beach and has unobstructed views. Breakfast was simple but good and the menu is small but does the trick if time is of the essence or you just wanna relax - food was very good. I had a car for a couple of days and the parking was conveniently by the entrance. It’s less than a 5 minute drive to an area with stores and restaurants, and two beaches, one with a good restaurant, are down the (steep) hill. The pool is nice and there’s poolside service.

If you don’t invest you will always fall behind

Needs refurbishing and not justified for the price any longer. The cleaning team is the same as every year and do their best as possible, they are friendly. Breakfast is far too average for the island and competition around. If you are looking for a cheap get away it will be sufficient but not luxury at all!

The hotel is beautiful, with an amazing ocean view and a great location. The breakfast and pool area are also really nice, and the service is great, everyone is very helpful and welcoming from the moment you get to the hotel. Anastasia, the hotel manager, is very well prepared and is very kind and helpful. Astrid has also been very kind to us and very helpful. We definitely recommend this hotel and would go back again!

The hotel Pietra e Mare is highly recommendable for your stay in Mykonos. The location is great just next to one of Mykonos' most enjoyable beaches, Kalo Livadi. The hotel offers spacious rooms, a relaxation area, a well-desgined pool area and a restaurant for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Also, the hotel has free parking around the property, which is ideal if you have a rental car to discover the island.

Wonderful friendly and very helpful staff. Meals lovely but took quite a long time to arrive. We had a suite each due to a room booking mix up (their fault and they apologised profusely) and so our accommodation was excellent. The views from the rooms were all sea view. Would definitely recommend Mykonos and this hotel. Although Mykonos in general is very expensive compared to some other parts of Greece

Don't stay here!

Remove this hotel from your website! I have just returned from a week's stay here. The weather was terrible (OK not the hotel's fault) but it really showed up the inadequacies of the place. There is literally nowhere to go if the weather is poor - no bar, entertainment at all and what is classed as a lounge is just a place to walk through. The prices are very high ie London prices and whilst the quality of the food is OK the menu offers a poor choice and is never changed. The hotel is classed as a \"4* small and luxury\". It is neither and to describe it as minimalist actually means basic. On arrival we were shown into a dingy small stone building some distance away from everyone else. (The whole layout of the place is odd). The first thing that hit us was the smell of the drains; we were told that there was no drinking water so we had to buy bottled water from the hotel at a high cost; my daughter tried to have a shower but the water was cold; the extra bed they put in the room for us was so uncomfortable with springs digging into her and a stained mattress that we asked them to remove it the next day; and the hot tub was situated next to the road with tankers driving past several times a day! We complained to the Manager and were upgraded to a different, better, room but then it rained heavily and we returned from breakfast to find the room flooded. Management then sent a cleaner to mop up the floor and close the shutters outside to leave us sitting in a gloomy room.

Superlative hotel in a dramatic setting!

Amazing hotel...spectacular water view from high on the cliff side. Very modern buildings interiors with old world charm setting. Staff could not have been more helpful, arranging everything from transit, evening dining in nearby towns, on-site breakfasts and late night cocktails, beach accommodations. Pietra e Mare is a very quiet but elegant resort, well above the fray of the local traffic and beach scene....yet perfectly accessible. Three nights were not enough!

at first we were concerned about the somewhat isolated location compared to many other spots BUT this turned out to be the best part as we really relaxed and were looked after by the great, friendly staff and looked forward to the restaurant with amazing views each night. Our private terrace overlooked the bay and we had everything we needed. The only negatives we only had working wifi at our room for
the 1st day so had to use near reception. Grab supplies from the market at the nearby town so you don't pay over the top on your beers, wines, snacks.

Amazing first time in Mykonos

I visited Mykonos with my boyfriend for our first time, and the experience was amazing.
We had a lovely welcome at the hotel with fresh lemonate during our check in. The room was amazing, sea view, divided in two floors, with all the facilities that you can need.
The staff is friendly and very helpful.
All of them has been really kind and ready to help you with whatever you need.
They can help with car, scooter and ATV renting.
The common area are perfect clean and overall the condition of the room and the structure are perfect.
The hotel is less than 3min. walk by the sea.
The hotel is 20 min fare from Mykonos town, you can easy reach renting a car, with the bus that stop 50 Mt before the hotel, or with taxi (a bit expensive and you can wait between 5 minutes and 1h)
Really near is the Lohan beach Club, not really cheap but very beautiful.
I would like to thanks mainly the receptionist of the evening shift, that proposed us for our last night, a room in a new hotel in center of Mykonos town (a sister hotel), and was the perfect conclusion for our Mykonian holiday.

I only can say thank you to the Pietra e Mare's Staff that help us to make this holiday unforgettable.

Sea views in a quiet area near town

Great gem of a hotel located 10 mins drive from Elia Beach and 20 mins to town. We were given an upgrade and had a little standalone compound that comes with deck chairs and a jacuzzi. Service was generally good except for some busy mornings at breakfast. Staff were helpful. One minor feedback is to have more wardrobe space in the room and better WiFi. I believe all rooms are sea view, which is a great feature of the hotel. Highly recommended for travelers who want a little quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of town.

The staff are very helpful and welcoming but do hover which is annoying. The place was right on a beach but the walk way is a steep hill and not old ppl/ handicap accessible so be careful. There was no hot water when we stayed for 8 days and WiFi is horrible and always not working. The place is beautiful but away from everything there were better beaches closer to things so I would recommend staying somewhere that is closer because it’s easily about 15-25 mins from town food any stores and taxis are 30 euros to go anywhere/:

Beautiful Hotel, underwhelming restaurant

We stayed 1 night at this hotel. The experience was amazing! From the first step onto the property, the staff was welcoming and inviting. The welcoming drinks were just what we needed while we checked in. The room was bright and clean with a breathtaking view of the Sea. The pool was clean and very beautiful.

My disappointment was with the Dinner menu. For such an upscale hotel/resort, I expected the menu to be more extravagant. I guess they tried to cater to the masses, but at a hotel of this caliber, I expect a 5 star meal. The menu/food was more like something you would get at any chain restaurant.

I would recommend staying here as the experience was top notch, but make other arrangements for dinner!

Good hotel - but avoid beach restaurants

The hotel was excellent (great views especially) and with good service and friendly staff. The food was good but not spectacular. They were able to give good recommendations of things to do locally/beaches to visit etc. The hotel is slightly isolated (quiet) and so you would need to hire a scooter/quad/car to get around but again the hotel are very helpful organizing this and they are easy to access and use.

The restaurants at the local beach (the ones within walking distance of the hotel) are very over-priced however. Avoid them at all costs. the food is ok but is very over priced and is designed as a trap for all the super rich tourists who have little idea about food quality and just want to 'flash their cash'. Much better is to travel to the local town of Ano Mera and eat some of the cheaper but fresh and delicious food served at some of their local restaurants on the square. The meal I had there was among the cheapest and best I had on my whole holiday! Ask for whatever fish has been caught that day!

This place is great. Super nice staff. Great rooms, pool, property, views. Daily house keeping. Decent food. Beach within walking distance. Would recommend a vehicle. A lot of great beaches nearby as well. Stayed a week at the end of May, watched the hotel and town completely fill up. It would be hard to be disappointed.

The hotel had a great view, the view of the beach on top of a cliff. However the location was too far away from main city. We had to rent an ATV to go back and forth to the Mykonos and the beaches. It was a good 20-25 mins from the main port/market. Beaches were another 10 mins or so. The hotel it self was ok, the locks were difficult to open and the Wi-Fi kept going in and out. Hot tub was nice after a long day of exploring.

A++ Hotel Perfect for a Secluded Beach Getaway

The hotel is amazing. I mean A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The staff especially work around the clock making sure you don't have to lift a finger during your relaxation time, which is awesome! The room was big and beautiful, cozy, and quiet. The walk to Kalo Livadi Beach took less than five minutes from the hotel. I mean, if you're looking for a top-notch hotel by the beach, there is no better hotel than Pietra e Mare Mykonos. The only thing is that you NEED to rent some form of transporation to get outside of the hotel to explore Mykonos Town and the surrounding areas; there are 30 cabs on the entire island that must service 1M+ visitors. So, the chances of getting a cab to and from the hotel to the surrounding towns are slim to none. Rent an ATV or a small car and you're all set for a fantastic vacation and a A++ hotel. Unless you want seclusion and a swim in the Aegean; then, just stay here and enjoy the comforts of vacation life and delicious eats from the hotel's restaurant.

It pains me to say that Pietra e Mare is a charming, rustic hotel that's certainly striving to become a 21st century luxury property. They have most of the boxes checked - polite and attentive employees who bring you a complimentary drink upon arrival, a courtesy tour of the property before checking into your room, picturesque beach view from a hilltop location, personalized welcome notes on the bed - it's certainly a lot to love. So, what could they do better? As a luxury hotel (which they already consider themselves), the bathrooms could use a refresh. I understand this is a small hotel on a small, rustic island, however I've traveled enough to see well balanced blending of the old with the new. And it certainly would add the cherry on top to find more plush bedding.

I had an amazing stay with my boyfriend at this hotel. We were going to mykonos town for the day and they gave us a complimentary room at the town and the next day we returned back. The sunset is beautiful with the sun view. Most importantlyrics the manager was like a friend to us gave us advise where to visit and we got into a car accident he told us to go directly to the car company as the services will charge ridiculous amounts which was true. Definitely stay here all staff are friendly.

Great place to stay, we saw some bad reviews but we took the chance and it was worth it. For us it was very good.
The hotel has a very nice beach near, family profile and extremely beautiful. It is far from the city, we rented a ATV and we could go every were with no problem. Very clean look hotel, very charming and we got a upgrade (very nice).

I would have no qualms in recommending this beautiful, quiet and chic hotel! We stayed in a standard room which a sea view (I think they all have sea views) and the room was a great size and really clean. The pool was always pretty much deserted despite being lovely (with really comfy sunbeds!). We didn't eat in the restaurant, but it looked great and breakfast was nice too.

Even though there isn't a bar, the outdoor restaurant overlooks the beach and has amazing views and always had a table for us to have a drink at before we went out.

Its a short but fairly steep walk from the beach - just FYI for anyone with problems walking!

Staff went out of their way to help- would recommend!

I called to the hotel to arrange transport from airport to hotel and they informed me that our room reservation was somehow incorrect and they didn't have a room for me that night. By the time I arrived at airport they had found me a new room, upgraded from our original location, picked us up from the airport, and took extra special care of us because of their booking mistake. Room was unbelievable and they are the cost of the difference between our original booking an upgraded room. They truly know the meaning of customer service and I can't thank them enough for making our experience so amazing!

Great hotel but you need a car

Staff were wonderful, they really work hard to provide a relaxing atmosphere. The beach is a short walk down the cliff. We were upgraded to the honeymoon suite and it was fabulous! The only thing I didn't realize before we arrived was how far away from the town the hotel is. This was good for us because we weren't on Mykonos for the party. We rented a car from the place the hotel recommended and were very pleased. In order to get something to eat at more reasonable prices and to see any of Mykonos, you need a car. The low price of the hotel was more than enough compensation for the price of the car rental- and you get a freedom with a car to see the island as well.

This property is an escape for all those who appreciate absolutely quiet time together. From the moment you arrive, you feel and have to get used to the hassle-free, very private atmosphere and the stunning view.
The beach is one of the best in Mykonos, yet it is not very crowded and there are no night clubs in the area.
The Hotel Manager is absolutely kind and she is always at the property to fulfill every wish.

The Pietra e Mare Hotel in Mykonos was truly one of our highlights when traveling for two weeks in Greece. Not only was the view from the hotel amazing, but the location of the hotel was a welcomed distance from the overcrowded town. The service that we received was impeccable, and centered on ensuring that we were comfortable at all times. The most impressive aspect of the hotel was the feeling of complete relaxation that the environment generated.

La vue est exceptionnelle mais hélas l’hôtel est décevant pour un 4 étoiles : les chambres sont simples sans décoration, télé toute petite, salle de bain repeinte sur le carrelage (horrible). Le petit déjeuner est simple et sans produit du pays. Le personnel est très gentil. La piscine est agréable mais les transats sont sales.
J’attendais beaucoup mieux pour un hôtel de ce standing.
Je conseillerais d’aller à Mykonos deux ou trois jours car la ville est magnifique mais cet hôtel est loin et les taxis exorbitants !! Nous avons loué une voiture car plus économique !!!
