What a gem of a find, it started with the excellent & timely communication from the hotel staff. The staff are amazing, so happy, friendly and welcoming
Upon arrival we were greeted in the street and walked into the hotel, by a very friendly staff member.
We then discovered a very clean, very Italian styled, lots of cool marble, and cactus, a beautiful hotel. Rooms are cool with aircon.
As celebrating our first wedding anniversary they had thoughtfully decorated our room, with a personalised message, balloons, rose petals, a beautiful fresh bouquet and bottle of fizz in an ice bucket.
Beds were very comfy, and the quiet location gave a good nights sleep.
Shower and bathroom are clean and bright.
breakfast was fresh and plentiful. A huge array offered.
What a great stay would happily stay here again-thank you

Everything was adequate but based on reviews we were expecting more and didn't get it. Location is good but the sound proofing, bed and breakfast are all average. Also a couple of small things like the cable tv not working and not having beach towels were disappointing

This is a boutique type hotel, the room we stayed in (girasole) is just big enough, we hit our legs a couple of times against the bed posts as the passage to the bath room is narrow. The hotel rooms are quite luxurious and the breakfast is very nice on the terrace of the hotel. nice staff following very well the Corona rules. We felt very safe in this hotel. The hotel is in the old town and can not be reached by car, but they pick you up from the parking in the port with a golf cart to take the Luggage. When I called the hotel they didn't tell that the parking is paying, and you should have a lotb of coins as there is no other way to pay for the parking. There are some free spaces but we never had a chance to get that. The parking in Gallipoli is a night mare during high season no chance to find a spot we had to park our car sometimes at a 25 minute walk.

Palazzo Mosco was such a great stay! It’s in an awesome location in the center of the old city and everyone who works there is so nice and helpful. There is paid parking by the port and the hotel provides transportation so you don’t have to lug your suitcase all over the city. Bonus points for the delicious breakfast and beautiful terrace!

Great service, great location!

Palazzo Mosco Inn was a great place to stay. The service was great with everything from helping sort parking out in advance and picking us up in a gold cart, through to just being polite, social and helpful every day. The location is great and the small touches like being able to have breakfast on the terrace each morning and having another terrace for days when you want a relaxing alternative to the beach really made a difference. Overall a great place to stay!

Memorable Stay

Palazzo Mosco Inn was wonderful, with a courtyard style interior. We had a great breakfast on the terrace each morning and watched the lights come on in the old town and across the bridge in the new town each evening from the roof terrace. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and made us feel so welcome. We loved Gallipoli.

Very spacious room and very comfortable. Breakfast on roof terrace was very good and varied.

Only criticism would be that availablity of refreshments is limited, in that sense the experience is more of a B&B rather than hotel. Having said that I would consider booking again.

Stayed at sister Hotel the Corso, next time we might try their other hotel the Relais.

Lovely B&B in a great location

We did a bicycle tour in the area, and we found the staff at Palazzo Mosco Inn to be very accomodating, providing an area to store our bikes indoors, and providing excellent recommendations in the area of Gallipoli Old Town. The room was comfy and spacious with a terrace overlooking the narrow side street - the only consideration for some might be the spiral staircase in our room to get to the 'loft' bed, which we found lovely. We had breakfast served on the roof-top terrace, which was an absolute delight.

Not Worth your Time

We were disappointed in Gallipoli as a whole. The from the checkin process at the hotel to the town itself we were disappointed. The pictures of the hotel are misleading. The deck shown in the pictures is only accessible up long stairway to what is used as the breakfast deck and then and set of stairs to the upper deck. The island is small and can be seen in a day or so, but is just not worth going through the process of getting to the hotel. I left a shirt in the room and emailed the hotel to see if it could be set to our next stop, where we would be for a few days and never received a response.

A great find. Perfect location and a great staff. Enza, one of the receptionists was most helpful and provided excellent restaurant suggestions. If I find myself in Gallipoli again, I would not doubt stay at the Mosco Inn again. They don't advertise this, but they have an arrangement with a local beach club, Lidosottovent. A luxury club located on a beautiful sandy beach. Free transfer to and from a nearby pickup spot, a restaurant that served among the best food that I had and luxury chaise lounge chairs and umbrellas. It was the perfect way to spend an afternoon - well actually 3 . . . It was that good.

Roof decks, nice rooms, A/C, ref & WiFi that work!

Excellent location right in old town and near castle. Easy to find. Shuttle both to and from transport great help. Staff was beyond great. The roof decks are awesome. Our room had fresco painted ceiling and real stone mosaic terrazzo flooring. Wow. WIFI easy to connect and worked great. Everything was near perfect. Only a slow draining shower kept this from a 100% score in our book. This place should be on the top of your list for a stay in this area

In heart of old town

Great hotel - very centrally located in old town of Gallipoli on virtual island. Very atmospheric. Lots of steps & no lift which was fine for us, but maybe not for others? Fantastic roof terraces to sit look over the sea, both sun & shade.

We had Gelsomino (Jasmine) room with small balconies from bedroom & bathroom overlooking narrow street below. But great double glazing to exclude street noise if you wish.

Good parking on port 500m away but transfer with luggage arranged by hotel once we had walked to check in (you cannot drive around old town as a visitor)

We had a nice stay. Rooms are basic and beds not particularly comfy but a great little hotel nonetheless. Friendly and helpful staff and a superb roof terrace for relaxing and breakfast. Location is also very good.

Great hotel in the heart of the old city

The staff was very helpful about restaurants and with my bags. Breakfast on the roof top terraces was quite nice. You do have to park remotely, but the is the case in most of these historic old cities. The room was small even by European standards but the location was perfect.

A great place to,stay in old Gallipoli, Italy

We recently stayed at the Palazzo Mosco Inn on Holy Thursday and Good Friday. The Inn is first class and in a wonderful location to view the pre Lenten festivities. The surrounding area is filled with wonderful views of the Ionian Sea and great restaurants. A caution, one cannot drive into the old part of the city. It is only allowed for old city residents. There is a sign as you enter the bridge to the old city, in Italian only, warning of the prohibition. License plates are photographed upon enter and tickets issued to non residents who enter the old city. Abundant free parking is located to the right of the entry bridge by the port.

Beautiful hotel! A must stay.

If you come to Gallipoli you must stay here! Not only is the hotel beautiful (and a steal for the price), but the staff is so friendly- I felt like family! The hotel manager, Mariangela, was so welcoming and takes great pride in the hotel. She made sure my stay was perfect and also gave me some wonderful ideas on where to go and eat in the city. The breakfast on the terrace is exceptional as well. Mariangela is very particular about the ingredients they use and making sure they are locally sourced and fresh- I was even around to see a delivery of a couple dozen eggs from a farmhand for the following days brunch. Can't get more fresh or authentic than that!

Stayed in the junior suite, lovely room but no windows to outside (unless you open to courtyard) so quite dark. Hotel staff great.The best breakfast I have ever had in a hotel ever. Parking a nightmare but that isn't unique to hotel.

Very nice renovation and updating of a modest palazzo. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Wonderful rooftop breakfast with a wide range of offerings and views of the sea. Easy walking to the sea front and all parts of the ancient historical center.

Hotel with character and GREAT breakfast Buffett

The hotel is great, remodeled out of an old palazzo in historic Gallipoli.
It has a lot of character, nice staff and a breathtaking terrazzo up in the top.
Be sure to try their breakfast Buffett, all the sweets are handmade and so good. Ask for their thin omelettes! Mmmm !
We visited in very low season so prices were also very good and wasn't crowded at all.

You need to mention that you have to take your luggage at least a block on cobbles without any help. There are also alot of steps and this needs to be in your information. You need to be in great shape to stay at this hotel. It is notisuitable for the elderly or handicapped. There are no porters to help with luggage.

Palazzo Mosco is exceptional for several reasons: 1) the building itself is beautiful 2) the breakfast is amazing and the terrace has a magical view both by day and night 3) the staff is beyond helpful 4) the location is right at the heart of everything you need in Gallipoli and 5) the place is always immaculately clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Gallipoli and i would take advantage of their private beach.

Amazing luxury in the heart of Gallipoli

Finding the hotel in the middle of Gallipoli's Old Town was a bit of a challenge, but once inside I was amazed. The place is smack in the middle of Gallipoli. Beautifully decorated, super clean and the staff are friendly and very efficient. It has a beautiful terrace where you have breakfast overlooking Gallipoli. Amazing place for sundowners. Will stay there again for sure.

Palazzo Mosco, Gallipoli, Italy- small and chic

Despite a shaky start where, on arrival at Brindisi airport, our pre-arranged hotel shuttle did not appear, forcing us to negotiate an airport taxi fare for the 60 km drive, we were pleased to arrive at this quaint hotel hidden in a pedestrianised alley in the old town of Gallipoli. The hotel receptionist was polite and friendly, and she promptly showed us to our room up 3 flights of stone steps, dragging our own luggage behind us! A large, clean and dark room with a very hard bed (virtually windowless, except for a frosted glass skylight), led to a spacious ensuite bathroom. With no information in the room about the hotel facilities, nor the surrounding area, except for a hand-drawn map of the town, it fell to us to establish a few basics with our rusty knowledge of Italian (there is very little English spoken in this area).
The old town of Gallipoli is delightful - a quaint network of cobbled alleys with a living community going about its business, hanging washing in the streets, gathering in doorways on chairs for evening chats, and working in the restaurants and bars dotted about both on the coastal road and in the interior of the town. A 19th century apothecary has been lovingly preserved, and still serves as the local pharmacy. The fish market is noisy and smelly, and much better entertainment than any tourist-oriented facsimile.
Overall, we found the area pleasant and refreshingly authentic, not paying any great heed to the tourist trade, apart from a couple of sea-view bars charging over the odds for drinks at sunset. If you are looking for a couple of nights in a sleepy, Italian oasis, and are not expecting everything to be on tap (we made several attempts to find a boat trip, and bicycle hire, which were both achievements in themselves with our limited knowledge of the language), you may enjoy Gallipoli for its charm. It is busy enough with Italian holiday-makers during high season, and a few American visitors: we met no other English people at all.
The new town is rather characterless, but the beaches are sandy and clean, and the sea is clear and warm. There is a bit of 'Ibiza' envy going on at some of the beachside bars, which provides some amusing people-watching opportunities when the early evening posers arrive.
If you want to explore further a car is essential, but be aware that the old town has strict restrictions to traffic other than local residents and traders.

The old part or historic center of Gallipoli is quite small so I would recommend just 1-2 days here. Parking near the hotel is difficult.

Det som sänker betyget är ganska tråkig frukost med mer kakor än riktig frukostmat. Fanns exempelvis inget bröd. Likaså att varje gång jag ville ha påfyllning av kaffe fick jag gå till köket och be om det.

Fantastisk og over all forventning.

Hit kommer jeg gjerne igjen. En nydelig lite Palazzo midt i gamlebyen. Kjempegod og smakfull frokost ble servert i flott uteområde på terassen. Flott sittegruppe på taket med utsikt over sjøen, stille og fredelig til tross for det lå sentralt i byen. Kort vei til havna hvor vi parkerte, og vi fikk tilbud om transport både til og fra bilen. I tillegg et kjempehyggelig personale.

Trevligt läge mitt i gamla stan med 5 minuters promenad till stranden. Vi hade bokat rum med balkong men den var så liten att det inte gick att få ut ens en stol där. Besvärligt med parkering, vi fick gå minst en km. Frukosten inte så fräsch.

Parce que nous avions commandé par Hotel.com nous n'avions droit qu'à une chambre au sous sol sans fenètre ( uniquement un vasistas) situé à 3 mètres de hauteur, donc impossible de voir le temps qu'il faisait. Il semblerait que si on commande par Hotel. com on n'a pas la mêmme traitement que si on commande directement. A par ceci chambre correct et propore. Bon petir déjeuner en terrasse.

Palazzo inmitten der Altstadt

Sehr schönes Gebäude inmitten der Altstadt von Gallipoli. Die Zimmer sind sehr nett und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Dachterasse läd abends mit einer Flasche Wein zum Verweilen ein. Das morgendliche Frühstück auf der Tersasse ist auch sehr angenehm. Alles in allem wären wir mit dem Aufenthalt sehr zufrieden. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist eher etwas zu hoch. Wir sind mit dem Auto angereist und haben kostenpflichtig auf dem Hafenparkplatz geparkt. Hier waren die beiden Damen an der Rezeption etwas unwissend. Hier hätten wir etwas mehr Unterstüzung erwartet. Die Aussagen der beiden Damen, man solle das Fahrzeug unterhalb der Altstadt abstellen, stellten sich als falsch heraus. Überall liefen Politessen herum und kassierten die Falschparker ab. Wir haben letztendlich den Hafenparkplatz genutzt (1,50 Euro die Stunde und von 24:00-10:00 frei). Aber trotz der Parkplatzprobleme fanden wir den Aufenthalt im Palazzo angenehm und würden auch gerne wiederkommen.

Très bon séjour hotel situé dans la vieille ville ce qui facilite les visites. Petit déjeuner à revoir tres moyen.
