Great breakfast but noisy

We loved our trip to Wittenburg which was a beautiful little town on the Elbe. This hotel was conveniently located, and the breakfast was great. I would probably stay somewhere else next time, only because the rooms were small and it was noisy next to the train tracks and main road and people would stand outside talking and smoking so it was hard to sleep with the window open.

The staff was helpful but the hotel never left the 80's. Of real concern was a fire alarm on our first night there, total confusion and the fire department never did arrive.

It's a good hotel for a night or two but it appears to be mostly for transient workers now.

Nice hotel but noisy trains

Hotel was located near the town center. Unfortunately, there is a main railroad terminal located just across the road, and barely 10 minutes went by without a train. The trains were electric and there were no whistles, but it was still noisy (a room on the back side of the hotel would be better). The breakfast was nice, and, unlike a typical buffet, they actually brought it to the table.

Good stay!

Very affordable, clean, next to train station but not loud or traffic-impacted. Super team, responding promptly. Please leave in room list of possible items to purchase for late arrival travelers while pandemic has restaurants closed.
Shower curtains with sewed-in weight strings might reduce splashing onto walking tiles while shower runs.

Room was satisfactory. Spacious bathroom. Plenty of hot water. Wifi worked well. Breakfast was very good. Location close to train station. Short Walk into town was pleasant.
Room is stuffy. No fan nor A/C. But there is a huge window that can be opened for fresh air. May not help in hot summer months. Bed mattress was concave. Bad tempered receptionist with poor customer service skills. Shrugs when asked if my room will be cleaned. The quiet lady who checked me out was very nice and pleasant

Stopped by to see Martin Luther

On the way to a conference decided to stay here and see the historical pieces of the city. Hotel was clean and very close to the historical venues. Staff were helpful. Pleased with our choice of hotel. Breakfast was typical and met our needs.

Wonderful Hotel close to train station

My wife and I had a great experience staying at this hotel over a 2 day visit to Wittenberg. It was in easy walking distance to the train station and similarly well situated for easy walking access to the Wittenberg old city. More importantly, the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Due to some mix-up in our train ticketing, we did not arrive at our initial ETA of 8-9 pm, but instead arrived at 12 midnight (the hotel's stipulated practice is to suspend check-in after 11 pm). Two staff were graciously waiting and quickly and efficiently checked us in (thanks to Expedia's messaging system, I had been able to get a message to the hotel that we would be late). Similarly, when we had a late train departure two evenings later, the staff were gracious in watching our luggage until we were ready to leave for the station. Also, although the kitchen was closed for the day (a Sunday), the supervisor offered to make sandwiches for us to take on the train! Cannot say enough about this hotel and its staff. Wonderful place to stay!

A Very Nice Stay

We had a great 2 night stay here. The folks are always pleasant and friendly. The town is cleaned up and ready for the 500 year festivities. The breakfasts are the best. The only problem is with the Wi-Fi. It works great in the lobby and in the middle of the hotel. On the ends, it's pretty weak. A couple of access points would do the job. All in all, a very nice stay and I will be back again and recommend this hotel to everyone.

Good hotel for train travellers

We had a good stay at Acron Hotel. It is close to the main station, which might interest some people. We were aware of some night trains passing through, but it was no disadvantage to us. The hotel is very well kept, breakfast was plentiful and varied. It is not far to walk from the hotel to Wittenberg's main attractions.

Good location near train station and city center pedestrian zone. Typical German hotel like you find by the hundreds. Nothing splashy...just good. Street side rooms are more exposed to the street and nearby train traffic noise.

Nice hotel close to center and railroad station.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel for the Martin Luther celebration in Wittenberg, I would recommend this one. It's an easy walk from the train station (I had a suitcase with wheels in tow) and equally easy walk to Luther sites in the center. It's also quiet and there's a good breakfast selection. You simply can't do better for the price.

We visited Lutherstadt-WIttenberg for the night then drove back to Wiesbaden the next day. The location of the hotel is on the east-side of the town that is easily within walking distance to the various sights of downtown. We loved the close proximity of restaurants and sightseeing. Would love to visit again if we are in the area.

Great hotel

A great hotel, near the train station and also an easy 10 minute walk to the sights in Wittenberg. Staff are very friendly, although speak limited English. Rooms are fairly basic, but everything was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent! It would have been nice to have coffee and tea in the room.

If you are arriving by train this is a good option...and only 10 mins to the historic centre...good standard type hotel, nice buffet breakfast. Helpful staff.July 2014: a number of buildings eg main church/castle closed for repairs in preparation for 2017...I was surprised how small Witt is....if you have come for Luther 2 nights is enough.

I am deathly allergic to cats and I'm not sure if I caught a cold or if those cats caused it. But they roam the place. I've stayed here before and never had a problem. This time, I did. 3 days away from the place and I'm fine. Also, all of the churches and landmarks are closed and under renovations for the 500 yr anniversary of the reformation. When they are finished in 2017, it will be nice, but not much to see or do until then.

This is a very basic hotel. It says there is internet but apparently it is only for windows computers and non-mac phones. This was quite inconvenient as we had to leave the hotel to check our work emails. The staff was friendly but had little knowledge of what was going on in the area.

Wittenberge (Lutherstadt) is a delightful town with plenty to see and do for a day or two. And the Acorn hotel is conveniently located to train, bus, and highway entrance into the city AND to the city center itself. There is a great view from the upstairs windows, and the place is clean and efficiently run. The breakfast is great. I recommend it highly.

We were not at all impressed with this hotel. The place is smoke filled everywhere and the smell is so strong in the room that if feels as if you are in a smoke pit. Location is good, people are friendly but I would recommend it only for smokers. This place is a \"heavy duty smokers paradise...\"

3 sängar inklämda i litet dubbelrum. Mycket trångt. Luktade unket, var slitet och ofräscht. Ok frukost, men endast bröd, pålägg och yoghurt. Långt till restauranger. Står att det är ljudisolerat, men hörde tydligt vad andra gäster gjorde på sina rum och från korridoren hördes varenda ord som talades.

Sehr schönes Hote am Rande der Altstadt

Wir hatten uns das Hotel aufgrund seiner Lage zur Altstadt von Wittenberg ausgesucht. Ob wohl wir für den Check-In eigentlich zu früh waren, wurden wir sehr freundlich empfangen und konnten das Zimmer beziehen. Das Zimmer war hell und ansprechend ausgestattet. Obwohl eine vielbefahrene Straße am Hotel vorbeiführt und die Bahnstrecke auch nicht sehr weit entfernt ist, war das Zimmwer (und auch der Frühstücksraum) sehr ruhig. Von Verkehr war nichts zu hören. Ich kann das Hotel nur empfehlen. Die Entfernung sowohl zum Bahnhof als auch zur Altstadt erhöhern die Attraktivität. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Parkplatz wurde mit 10€ separat berechnet. Alles ist sehr alt. Mögel, Teppich, auch Badezimmer-Ausstattung. Frühstück war ganz ok, Gemüse morgens war nicht frisch - Paprikastreifen und Gurken waren schon etwas schwabbelig. Kaffee gab es aus alten Kannen, Vollautomat war nicht im Betrieb. Der absolute Oberhammer war im Spielschrank die VHS Kassette. Back to the 80's. Wer es mag: sehr gut. Für 100€/Nacht jedoch deutlich renovierungsbedürftig

Den första bilden men ser på hotels.com över Wittenberg är missvisande. Hotellet ligger en bit från centrum och det finns ingen utsikt över stan. Boende ligger vid järnvägsstationen och det är väldigt lyhört. Vi fick ett äldre rum som var mycket varmt. Svårt att vädra med tanke på hur mycket tågen lät, hela natten åkte tåg förbi. Mycket hårda sängar.

Ich habe das Hotel schon mehrfach gebucht, aber noch nie ein Zimmer zu Strasse/ Bahnlinie heraus gehabt. Im Sommer, wenn man das Fenster öffnen muss, ist der Lärm unerträglich, auch in der Nacht, wenn Güterzüge vorbei rumpeln.

Trotz Corona alles gut, wie immer. Alle Hygienemaßnahmen wurden gut und konsequent umgesetzt. Das Frühstück wurde an den Platz gebracht und immer wieder freundlich gefragt, ob man noch etwas bräuchte. Sehr gerne kommen wir wieder.

Es war morgens sehr laut, die Toilettenbrille rutschte bei Benutzung weg, die Lüftung im Bad war sehr laut und der Spiegel beschlug nach dem duschen so dass man nichts mehr darin gesehen hat, in der Nacht war der Weg zur Toilette nur mit „Licht an „ möglich, Das Frühstücksbüffet wurde nur schleppend nachgefüllt und die Auswahl war sehr dürftig.
