The rooms are basic and clean, but have no air conditioning and there are a lot of flies and mosquitoes if you open the window. But it’s the noise that is notable. Every sound in the hallway is amplified in your room. If you’re looking for a private room with a clean bed and shower that’s near the D-Day sites, this one will definitely work.

Hotel rooms were comfortable, the window shutters are great. The restaurant serves a regional menu, including regional beers. The breakfast was the standard bread, pastries, cereal, fruits and cheese. The location was easy to find, and a great spot to stay if planning on visiting the town. The town is close enough to walk if you want alternative options for food.

The probably listed from reviews, three stars. How this happened is beyond me. I booked two rooms one with two separate beds. The reception said there is one room with one bed and one child’s bed. I said that fine and paid. Went to the room and it was one beds. Went back in to correct it and she said says you booked two rooms with one bed. Not the case, even she said one room with two separate beds. I said ant the room with the two separate beds and she charged me an inconvenience fee of $30.
The rooms were very subpar at best, old lighting poor window treatment and the bathroom not very clean. The scary thing is the lighting in the hall ways and by the elevator was dark and lights were off. You can find a light switch and turn on the very low lights gets and a few minutes lighter they turn off. My granddaughter didn’t feel safe.
This place is an older hotel that’s poorly and cheaply restored and not worth staying at. Not for families. The two stars is for the breakfast which was fine.
When I wanted to complain to the manager he turned away and went to his office to let the front girl to handle my issue. Hotel get a ‘0’ and the breakfast a 2. For a man wanting a no fuss place and doesn’t care about service, this might work for you, but not me and my family.

A French speaking hotel, friendly staff, good selection of food available for both evening meal and breakfast. Our room was facing the main road, and this was a 24-hour main road so there was traffic noise throughout the night.

Lots of fire alarms

I reserved for two nights but left after the first one. First there is no air conditioner. They suggested leaving window open. It rained all night getting everything near the window wet. The fire alarms went off 3 times in the night which didn't help trying to sleep in a hot and humid room. Only reason i did not.leave afternthe first fire alarm was i was too tired to drive anywhere. Maybe got 2 hours of actual sleep that night. Reserved a different hotel at 3 am since i was already awake.

Cute hotel ☺️

We booked this hotel per other people's reviews since we planned to be out all day. I was very impressed with my clean room, loved the electrical blinds to block the Sun since it doesn't get dark in France until 10:30 Pm. I had the garden room so enjoyed looking at the horses and back yard. Breakfast was not included in the price and paid 10.50 Euros and had an European Style breakfast which it was great. I'll go back there.

Pros: great location and awesome staff. The staff is helpful and provided excellent information for our trip sightseeing.

Cons: No AC, mosquitoes and other bugs fly in when you open the window to let air in. Breakfast is okay but there were no hot dishes.

D is for Disappointment

First impression was an overwhelming stench of cigarette smoke followed by a dreary and drab dated lobby and hallways with non-operational lights. Only emergency lighting was on in the halls throughout our stay. The room had no amenities, no toiletries, and no walkable restaurants or anything worthwhile. The sheets had a blood stain and the shower head would not stay in the upright position. You literally have to hold the shower head to take a shower and the toilet paper is such that you find in a rest stop bathroom. This IS NOT A 3 STAR hotel. VERY DISGUSTED AND DISAPPOINTED. Worst hotel stay from Hotels.com ever.

Convenient location for the airborne museum

Nice hotel that would be excellent if you are visiting the museum. I was there just for work. Rooms were quite comfortable and beds comfortable and clean. Breakfast standard style continental and included. Pleasant stay all round. Be a very expensive though! £8 for a 500ml - ouch!

I really enjoyed staying here very much. Staff was friendly and very personable. The only fault was the Wifi. It may have been the worst of any hotel I have stayed at. It wouldn't stay on more than a couple hours at a time when it would shut off saying \" you are not protected \" or something like that. The hotel A Plus! Wifi C minus!

The immediate reaction when walking into the lobby was this place stinks. But you get use to it. Also, they lock you in at night. Discovered that when I had to go to my car late at night and the front door was locked. Presumably for security, but not for fire codes and safety. I promptly told my Dad not to use the front door for and emergency. Very dangerous.

A good place to stay near Utah Beach

This 40 room hotel is just off of A13 just outside of town. It is a 3 star hotel that serves good food. Our room was contemporary, quiet and clean. We had some issues with the staff over dinner, but this is one of the better value hotels in Normandy.

The Hotel Le Sainte Mere was only for 1 night so we could be available early in the morning for a WWII tour we had arranged. The hotel is directly off the main highway so very convenience when traveling. Arrived late and the restaurant was finished for the night, but had a nice drink in the bar. The room is modest, but clean and the bed very comfortable. Extremely quiet for being so close to a highway. Breakfast was wondefuf! Well worth the cost which was modest. Parking was free and Internet was good. Basically, a great basic hotel. Not a destination, but highly serviceable.

We stayed here for one night, comfortable to sleep and take a shower. But, the toilet smelled of urine which faintly wafted into the room. We couldn't find the source of it but closing the toilet doors helped.

Overall, I didn't expect much of this hotel. If you could find some place better to stay, go for it. But, if you're staying for just one night, I guess you could risk it.

Hanging out in St Mere Eglise

This hotel was too new for our sat nav, The roads around were 'off piste' but we found it eventually.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. The village is a 20min walk away and we chose to eat in the hotel. The food was good as was breakfast the following morning.
St Mere Eglise is, of course, the place to visit for the American parachutists of D Day. There is a parachutist hanging from the church spire still and there are museums a plenty together with excellent information boards around the village with before and after photos.

The location of the hotel is very convenient, close to the motorway and only a few minutes walking distances form the center of the village.
The hotel is generally well designed and functional.

Minor points:
-The quality of the restaurent (dinner) is not great. The kitchen cannot handle a number of visitors. Meat dished were not good.
-Reception and bar service closes at 10h50 pm.

Ideally located for anybody visiting the local D day sites and beaches, the hotel is friendly and welcoming.
One of the key things i liked is that English is used sparingly and makes you work at using your french! Not that you sruggle to be understood if like me you dont know too many words...
The restaurant had a good menu and the food was delicioud.
I would strongly recommend this hotel.

Staff seemed overwhelmed with the arrival of a tour bus so we got short shrift when checking in. Room was okay, but there was no elevator. Parking is great. Breakfast was adequate. This hotel offers excellent value for money. It is clean with comfortable beds and an excellent shower. Perfect for an overnight stay after crossing on the ferry from Portsmouth to Cherbourg. Great For A Short Stay

We stayed for three nights. The staff are very friendly and the rooms were kept very clean. For our first night we had an evening dinner, which was of a good standard, and the service was quick and very helpful. The only thing we could fault was the size of the room, and the bed is just a double, which my wife found a little uncomfortable at times during the nights we stayed. There were two beds in the room so it could sleep three, if the second bed was removed and a larger double bed put in i.e. King or queen that would be great. On the whole the hotel was a good choice and I would recommend it for anyone wanting to stay at St Mere Eglise right in the heart of the D-Day landings area.

Room was quiet, cool and clean although not large. The main road to Caen/Cherbourg was close and convenient but the noise was not intrusive and did not disturb us. It was just outside St Mere l'eglise so handy for D-Day museums etc. Staff were helpful and simple self service breakfast with as much to eat as you wish. We did not eat dinner there.

We arrived at 2045 and we were told if we wanted dinner, orders were taken up to 2100.we went straight in and ordered our meal.We had a very nice meal,we were not rushed,and it was fairly priced, The buffet breakfast next morning was just as good, and a good slection of food.
The rooms were well appointed and very clean,in the bathroom we got the normal tiny piece of soap, but lots of liquid soap available.
If you like a dark room you will love this hotel, it has electric shutters on the windows which block out all the light,Fantistic.
And best of all the price was right. very good value

This hotel was conveniently located close to the center of Ste Mere Eglise. It is nice but do not expect any frills. The rooms are small and the hotel itself is somewhat old. But, we were not looking for a 5-star hotel. The price was a little high but I think we were paying for convenience. Breakfast was good.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Le Sainte Mere, the staff were very kind and helpful and the Hotel comfortable and clean. Our only minor problems were that there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms (We love France and understand that this is a French Hotel but English people need their tea!) and some doors in the corridor were very noisy and kept us awake. But generally a very good hotel.

Sainte Mere Eglise - Hotel Le Sainte Mere

Stayed at this hotel april 2-3, 2011 and this was most satisfying in accordence to both price and location. Sainte Mere Eglise has about 4000 inhabitants so the walk to the centre is counted in a couple of hundred meters or so.

Rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is really friendly. There is a parking right in front of the hotel and that is very convinient to use.

Would recommend this to anyone wanting to explore the historic village of Sainte Mere Eglise any time.

Chambre à l’étage sur le jardin ok mais 2 pbs d’éclairage ( rampe au dessus du lit qui clignote et les 2 interrupteurs à droite du lit défectueux) et aucune connection Wifi ni à l’accueil ni dans la chambre Aucune réparation ni explication pour le wifi pdt notre séjour Dommage
Pdj correct mais pas de resto du jeudi au dimanche

Problème de personnel

L'hôtel par lui-même pas de problème
Parcontre le restaurant est fermé faute de personnel
Pour le petit-déjeuner à 13 € on nous demande de débarrasser notre plateau....chez Mac Do ça ne me dérange pas dans votre établissement ça me paraît inacceptable mais par respect pour le personnel je l'ai fait !!

Værelse og pris hænger ikke sammen

Utrolig høflig betjening.
Vi fik et handicap rum, hvorfor ved jeg ikke. Men toilettet var løst, og sengene var virkelig hårde. Syntes godt man kunne sætte en elkedel op med lidt kaffe og the.
Deres morgenmad var ok, dog skulle de finde en anden løsning på deres pålæg. Skiveosten var stiv i alle kanter.
