This was a great place to stay with my 4 sons. The property is clean and well equipped and the pool was great after long days. There is a grocery store across the street which was perfect.

The cabs to Rome are a little expensive each way so can add up. Always get a metered cab and make sure you see the red meter running on the rear view mirror. Also public transportation is just steps away which is very inexpensive.

The value for the price was good, it was a great place to stay! Loved the pool however the closing time of 7:00 pm is much too early. The little store was perfect for the little things you forgot or ran out of. Online is states there is an airport shuttle and that registration was easy which is not the case, they also do not run an airport shuttle. As for registration once we arrived, over two hours standing in the hot sun with no shade waiting to get our room, not a great start.

Check in was a long wait in the sun. You take a ticket and wait, and wait. That really needs to be more efficient, especially since all information was already entered on the web portal. We are a family of 5 with young kids and we do a lot of RV camping at home so we felt hu Roma would be great, but it was lack luster. The pictures online of the cabins are of the new cabins, so we were disappointed in the old cabin we were placed in. There were ants crawling inside on the walls and even on the bathroom even toilet. And spiders hanging from the ceiling. The restaurant and market are great amenities but the restaurant is a little overpriced. But it's convenient after a long day of site seeing. A taxi to the Vatican Museum runs about $21 Euros in the morning. More in the afternoon to get back due to traffic.

If you are towards the back campsite it is a decent amount of walking especially since you have to go up a couple flight of stairs in order to go up. Staff was pretty nice in the front check in but the ones working the kitchen were a little rude, with that being said we did not like the onsite restaurant, overpriced and bland (dinner). Location was not in the city but not bad since the bus stop was right outside, not to mention pretty easy to navigate. Bathroom shower and sink is open to the entire room which I didn’t really mind personally. Room was clean provided extra towels and sheets. We were also able to leave our luggage after checkout. Overall would stay again for the price! Although I will say it’s not close to the good bars and nightlife.

The language barrier was so great they were agreeing that the booked room was \"two rooms\".
5 flights of stairs to the cabins???? Ridiculous.

We were a family of four and picked the superior chalet. It was roomy, with two bathrooms, and super clean and comfy. Being close to Rome’s center, we spent a day exploring, and the kids loved the pool afterward. The restaurant on-site was great and had tasty food and drinks with pleasant hosts and waiters. I’d definitely recommend it. The site had a laundry room with washers and dryers for 6 euro and a little store with necessities, snacks and drinks for purchase.

The staff are kind and helpful, they offer golfcarts for transporting luggage to and from the rooms. There is a laundry area on the camp ground which accepts coins, a café, restaurant and pool bar that serves snacks. The rooms are cozy and the beds and bathrooms were clean. We wore shoes inside because the floors were dirty. The bus is a few steps off of the property and takes you to the metro. There is a shuttle we did not use, but it looked nice and seemed to run on time.

The good:

- I like that the property felt like a small town and not a hotel where you got to know your neighbors and socialize with them, it also has a small market on property and a supermarket across the street. Has a pool which was nice, and has a super convenient Bus stop with multiple bus routes in front of the property.

The Bad:

- The restaurant on property definitely lacks menu / staff need work. The “ Bar “ has very limited options.
- I get its a camp ground but if youre going to place a small fridge why not also a microwave and a small tv while you’re at it? you lost the “ camping vibe “ when you placed the fridge.
- the beds there were just 2 twin bed put together that would always pull apart very annoying.
- If you go during cold season be aware the “heat” cant keep up as the “ tent “ is not well insulated so you might get cold.
- if youre near the property entrance you hear all the highway traffic and ambulances.

Great place to stay, made it easy to amd from the city, food was ok on site, nothing special, some of the staff were a little rude and unhelpful, walls very thin, can hear coughing, foot steps etc.... doesnt help others aren't quiet outside apartments after 11pm! So bare this in mind if your light sleepers or going to take kids!

Site itself was accurately described and well maintained. The chalet itself was pretty basic, but spacious. The twin beds were made up as a double, despite us requesting 2 singles in advance. Had to use the extra bedding in the cupboard to make up an extra bed on arrival, which was a pain given that it was late. Aircon was very efficient. Our shower door would not shut properly and wasn’t mended despite reporting it the morning after arrival. Facilities on the site were good and staff friendly and helpful. Pool was freezing, but it was May! Situated on a busy road, near a hospital, so lots of sirens day & night. People were quiet onsite after 11pm except when there’s new arrivals!

Room was not clean, ants and snails everywhere. No bat mat, no bathroom tissues.
Check in was not easy, staffs are always busy on their phones. We got room in the end side and when we asked about help with luggage they said nothing they can do, check with security.
Security guards are very helpful compared to reception staff.
Wifi is a big joke, only works if we have luck

This is purely a camping stay. Don't keep high expectations in terms of toiletries, daily cleaning etc. There was no Coffee/Tea too in the room. Make sure you bring all the basic essentials. Overall in terms of cost, it was fairly reasonable. Wifi is only stronger in common areas, don't expect it to be available inside the rooms. The location is very good as we can hop on a city bus right outside the main gate. There is also a decent supermarket on the other side of the road.

This place sits somewhere between a campground and a budget resort—and that’s exactly its appeal.

If you’re looking for a traditional hotel in Rome, this isn’t it. But if you want affordable, flexible lodging with more space and amenities, it’s a strong option.

The setup is mostly bungalows and mobile homes, which are surprisingly comfortable. You get basic essentials—bed, bathroom, A/C—and enough privacy to relax after long days in the city. It’s not luxury, but it’s clean and functional.

Where it stands out is the facilities:

* Large pool area (great in the summer)
* On-site restaurant and bar
* Mini market for quick essentials
* Shuttle/bus access into central Rome

Getting into the city takes some planning. It’s outside the center, so expect 30–45 minutes to reach major spots like Colosseum or Trevi Fountain. Public transport works fine, but it’s not as convenient as staying downtown.

Downsides:

* Can get crowded and noisy, especially with groups
* WiFi is hit or miss
* Feels more like a resort than a “Rome” experience

Bottom line:
Great value if you’re okay trading location for price and space. Especially good for families or longer stays. If you want to step out your door into historic Rome, look elsewhere—but if you want a budget-friendly base with amenities, it does the job well.

We had a very bad experience at HU Roma.
Due to a simple booking mistake, we had reserved one night less than intended. However, the way this was handled was extremely poor. When we returned at around 9PM, all of our belongings had already been removed from our room & placed in storage without proper notice.
We received no email communication at all, which would have been the most reliable way to reach us as travelers. The staff mentioned they tried calling, but we had no missed calls. Without clear communication, it felt like we were abruptly evicted rather than assisted.
We were then left to sort through our belongings outside in one of their tent gazebos for about 30 minutes, which was both stressful and uncomfortable. My wife also lost personal items which were probably thrown out during the process
After all this, the staff eventually came back & said a larger room had become available. Unfortunately, by that time we had already been forced to look for another hotel and had secured alternative accommodation due to the uncertainty and lack of support earlier.
We were ready and willing to pay for an additional night from the start, but no effort was made to properly coordinate or assist us in a timely manner. The situation could have easily been handled with basic communication and guest support.
Mistakes can happen, but the way this was managed caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. I would not recommend staying here based on this experience.

We stayed in a \"delux\" bungalow.... it was hardly delux. yes it was clean but it was very basic ... there is a fridge but no cups/glasses/plates/kettle ect ...
Location wise it was fine , a bus & a metro ride to most of the sites

We stayed for one night and had a very pleasant experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were excellent.
We arrived around 1 AM, and although I don’t remember the name of the person who checked us in, he was very polite and welcoming. I would also like to specially thank the security staff member, Mohammad Sharif, who kindly escorted us from reception to our room. He was very friendly and helpful.
Overall, it was a great stay. If we visit Italy again, we would definitely choose to stay at this hotel.

Relaxing location but the check in process is a joke! Messaged before arriving to see if we could check in early and they said yes if its available, when we arrived they said no check in is at 2, didnt even check if it was available.

Then you have to get a ticket and wait to be called to check in, no one even told us you needed a ticket. There are around 30 people waiting to check in and each one takes 10-20 minutes.

We had a room for 3 and the 3rd bed wasnt even made up, all blankets were still in cupboard. There were also stains (looked like blood) on the floor

No cups or anything in the room either, wouldnt hurt to put some plastic cups or even a kettle with coffee facilities in

Toilet didnt flush properly and leaked from the tank

We left 6 days early because there were clearly bed bugs or bugs of some sort, both my husband and i have broke out in rashes and are itchy+++!

Weve stayed here twice before so weren't expecting to run into any issues - but this was appalling.

When I went to the desk to explain the issue and that we were checking out early for that reason, despite their being 3 members of staff at desks, I was made to wait in the rain for one staff member who was checking in another person. When eventually I was served, I said \"we were checking out early because...\" and before I could finish she put her hand out for the key and said ok madam goodbye - I reiterated we weren't due to check out until Monday (this was the prev Wednesday) she said \"ok\" and smiled, called next ro the next customer!

So we've lost out on the cost of this stay, the full payment for city tax - which we ended up paying twice for a hotel elsewhere as well as the cost for different accommodation, not to mention the additional cost for creams and lotions etc to calm the itching!

We definitely will not be back which is a shame!

Good, only thing that concerned me is that someone tried to break into my cabin while I was out. I went out early but remembered to place the deadlock on the door and came back in the evening and looked like someone had tried their luck and forced something between the door but because the deadlock was on luckily they didn’t get in though saying that I took all valuables with me so there was nothing to steel. I did report it to reception the day it happened

In the FAQ they said early checkin is possible, I sent flight information and asked about the early checkin 3 days before the arrival date but they didn't reply. They kept us 4 hours waiting becuase the receptionist didn't want to call the housekeeping to check in the room is ready (she said I am busy and cannot call them)
After 5 hours flight and 4 hours waiting for the room my family was very tired to go out again and visit the city and we lost a full day :(((

Place was great. Only thing I noticed was the bungalow I was in had a moisture problem. The windows were open when I arrived but I didnt think anything of it and shut them while I slept, but woke up to a lot of moisture in the air and some of my items got moldy because of it. Just ensure you keep the windows open in the bungalow. Because everything else was wonderful

Alright but could be better

The room was suitable, but the walls were quite thin and the bed wasn’t very comfortable and the shower was problematic. Food and pool was good. The WiFi didn’t really work outside of the pool/restaurant area. The location isn’t good — it’s completely surrounded by dual carriageway so it can even be dangerous to walk anywhere around the property without going on the one path. It’s not close to town at all.

Phenomenal Glamping Experience in Rome

We really enjoyed our stay at this campground and the one in Florence! The grounds were beautiful and I loved that we had access to a restaurant, market, and pool. Additionally, there was a grocery across the street which came in handy. The shuttle into Rome was an added perk, but I do wish they had later return times.

The room was perfect for the two of us. I was so thankful to have air conditioning and a luxurious shower. If I find myself in Italy again (praying I do) I would absolutely stay here again!
